Present:

"Supid little punk, I'll show him." Naruto growled to himself as he wandered the forests alone. He wasn't looking for a destination he just needed to get out of that damn house for a bit. The reason for his foul mood was because of a little altercation that happened between his team and Tazuna's grandson, Inari. "Thinking I had it easy because I'm a ninja, he doesn't know the true meaning of pain!" his eyes glowed a purple hue as he felt the rage within him fester. He doesn't know who he is. What he's done! He can sometimes still hear the screams of his fellow cell mates sometimes. He wouldn't even be here today if it wasn't for The Weasel. He didn't realize who it was at the time, but he recognized the sent when he discovered a lost little girl when he was younger.

"You've probably had an easy life. You don't know what it's like to feel suffering and pain!"

He told him off. Oh, and it felt good. To teach the pampered brat how easy he's had it. He didn't reveal much of his past he managed to keep that to himself. He slipped up and let a few details out but it felt good to watch the rotten waste realize his mistake. He looked at his hands and clenched them into tight fists. Sometimes, he can still feel the crimson liquid of his victims on his skin. The scars on his body would always remind him of what he's been through. What he's done to survive! "Little piece of worthless shit!" Naruto growled as a

he punched a tree as hard as he could. It didn't budge one bit. All this did was infuriate him even more. He threw another and another. Each punch carried forth immense rage.

"Please, no!" A threw another punch, chipping away at the bark.

"I just want to go home!" Blood was begining to spill from his knuckles.

"What did you do to my mommy!" his rage and slef loathing refused to let him feel the physical pain. He would heal.

"Kukukuku, having fun!?" Tears fell from his now purple eyes as he let out a primal roar of pain, guilt, and frustration before finally he fell to his knees, sobbing. He grabbed his head as he curled into he fetal position. "I'm not a monster, I'm not a monster, I'm not a monster, I'm not a monster." he muttered quietly to himself, broken. Blinking away the tears, he started taking deep breaths to calm himself down. A snap of a twig behind him caught his attention. He whirled around, pointing his kunai at the neck of his teammate. Her onyx colored eyes held nothing but concern and worry. She slowly placed her hands on his hand, holding the kunai before slowly disarming him.

She hated seeing him like this. There was so much pain behind his smile that she never fully understood. She had an idea. Her parents had to teach her how to interact with him when they first met because of it. He always put on a smile and was always trying to brighten everyone's day. Only her, Sakura, and a few others have seen him in this state. She looked into his purple eyes that were slowly fading to blue as she cupped his cheek and rubbed a whisker mark. Before she knew it, Naruto wrapped his arms around her and buried his face into her neck. She held him as he sobbed quietly. Sakura emerged from the clearing shortly after slowly making her way towards them. She sat next to them and joined the embrace as well. "We're here for you, Naru-kun," Satsuki said softly with a kiss on the top of his head. She didn't care that Sakura saw. Even she knew when and when not to tease as she didn't comment on it except looking at her with a sad smile. Said blonde didn't respond as his breathing slowed down in the embrace of the two people who seemed to accept him, even if they didn't know the whole story.

Kakashi watched this scene from one of the trees above with a somber look on his face. While he was called, his orange shinobi was going to be fine in the hands of his peers. He should've never been used in the first place. "What happened to you in that damned lab, Naruto?" he thought to himself as he recalled the dinner.

45 minutes before:

"You should've seen it, Tsunami, so many orange clad brats moving the construction schedule way ahead of time. He might not be the brightest, but he sure is a quick learner!" Tazuna laughed while the brat in question didn't know whether to be offended or not.

"What do you mean not the brightest? I am plenty smart!"

"Yes, you are smart sometimes, Naruto, but just in certain scenarios." Satsuki said in a matter of fact tone. "After all, who was it that fell for the obvious bait during our test?" Sakura decided to ask something that was bothering her about that. "Satsuki's right, Naruto. Not only was it obvious, but why didn't you send a clone to grab it for you instead?" Naruto turned beet red before he sat down, grumbling to himself, causing everyone to laugh. All except one.

"You're all gonna die, so why even bother." a little boy with black hair and eyes said. He wore a white bucket hat with two blue stripes across it. His green overalls ended at his shin and he wore a tan short sleeved turtleneck.

"Inari!" Tsunami yelled at her child scolding him. "But mom it's true" Inari protested. Naruto was irritated "Look kid this isnt nothing we'll be fine"

"Yeah right, no one can stop Gato. He's too power, you should just leave if you don't want to die" Inari snapped at Naruto. He glared at him. "You're no match for him!" Naruto rolled his eyes. "Look kid I'm not gonna go down to some stupid business man who thinks he's all that because of his money. I'm gonna kick his ass and you'll see that he was nothing!" he stated in a matter of fact tone. This Gato sounded like nothing more than child's play for them.

"Grrr, you don't know anything! You're just a stupid ninja from some fancy village thinking he's a cool guy coming to save the weak!"

"No I'm someone that wants to help someone like your grandpa! Hes a true hero trying to help those who are suffering!"

"And what do you know of suffering huh? You've probably had an easy life. You don't know what it's like to feel suffering and pain! To have it rough!"

Satsuki and Sakura dropped their chop sticks and looked at each other in dread. "I don't understand," Naruto laughed out loud. it was cold, hollow, and had no joy in it. His smile was empty. "Are you kidding! Of course, I understand," the temperature seemed to drop significantly." "hehehehe, I mean, do you call THIS rough?"" he gestured towards the house, Tazuna and Tsunami. "This isn't having it rough. I've been through things I hope YOU WILL NEVER KNOW, I HAVE DONE WORSE THINGS THAN GATO THAT YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY IMAGINE! I SURVIVED NOT BECAUSE I HAD AN EASY LIFE! I HAD TO END THE LIVES OF MANY, INNOCENT PEOPLE JUST TO KEEP MINE!" He started cackling hysterically. Sakura and Satsuki's were starting to get extremely concerned about the mental state of their friend. Kakashi looked at Naruto, fearing his student might snap. The laughing stopped abruptly, and suddenly, a blank look appeared on his face. "I never knew their names. I just knew if it wasn't them, it was gonna be me. So when a some sad little boy cries about how he's sad that he life isn't the greatest and he has it rough, it makes me sick!" he spat out furiously.

Inari fell backwards and tried to crawl away from the orange nin. He was suddenly on top of Inari causing everyone to stand up, ready but not willing to fight the blonde "So don't come to me about suffering when you haven't woken up WISHING YOU WOULD JUST DIE!" and with that he threw Inari into the wall before running out the door.

Kakashi sighed at the memory. He talked to Inari a bit about Naruto to calm him down. Kakashi told him that not many knew his past as he never spoke of it. The only thing they did know was that they found him deep in the bunker of the lab. Chained by the neck, beaten, bruised, and gagged. However, he came so far because he never gave up. Inari was shocked at the information and was left to think about what he had learned.

He looked back at his genin in their group embrace. The girls seemed to have everything under control when it came to comforting Naruto. He may feel a bit left out, but who was he to intrupt them. "I'll see you three back at the house then." he muttered quietly to himself before he poofed away in a cloud of smoke, revealing it to just be a shadow clone.

Back with the genin, Naruro was able to calm down with the help of Satsuki and Sakura. "Naruto, is that why you don't like talking about your past?" Sakura asked in a low tone. She was worried about him. She didn't like how they found him, broken, crying, and muttering to himself in a fetal position. They didn't hear what he said, but they could guess. Naruto himself slowly broke away from the embrace, although Satsuki held his hand tightly. Almost as if he would just vanish if she let him go. "I.. I don't have a lot of good memories about my past, as you probably figured out." he suddenly had a panicked look on his face as he started tear up again. "I-I didn't want t-to I s-swear! They made inhale so-something, I never w-wanted to h-hurt anyone!" Satsuki grabbed both his shoulders and forced him to look her in the eyes. "Hey! Look at me! I'm still here, ok? Remember when you found me?" he nodded. "You got lost running -"

"Exactly, and what did you do? You took me home to my family. Who knows what would've happened if someone else with more twisted intentions found me?" Sakura remembered being told this story after she finally gained Satsuki's trust. "Do you remember why you helped her?" she asked, encouraging him. "B-because it w-was the right thing to do. I..I recognized your scent from your brother who saved me." he muttered loud enough for them to hear. Satsuki nodded. "Deep down, you are a good person. You're always trying to help others, and you rarely ask for much in return. The person you were back than isn't who you are now. You've changed."

"Even then, remember what you said you did what you did to stay alive. You were a child. There's no shame in that." Sakura said softly as she embraced him from behind. Naruto seemed to calm down at their words. "Thank you," his words were sincere. He couldn't begin to express how much he appreciated both of them. "Come on, let's get back to the house. Kakashi said he should have a training regiment for us tomorrow." the cherry blossom said as she jumped into the trees, leaving the two alone. After a few seconds, Naruto finished gathering his bearings and was getting ready to leave. "Hey, Naruto," Satsuki stopped him. "I just want you to know, I'm really happy you're alive," she finished with a kiss on his cheek. Turning around quickly, she took a step forward, "Come on, we gotta patch up your knuckles." And with that, she left a stunned Naruto behind before he smiled and followed them back to the house.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the house. They all entered the front door one by one. "There you are. I was beginning to get worried." Kakashi hobbled his way over on his crutches to the three. He stopped in front of Naruto and placed a hand on his shoulder. "How are you doing?" Naruto just gave him a shaky smile while Sakura and Satsuki both squeezed his hands in an effort to keep him comforted. "Better now, I shouldn't have snapped like that. I'm sorry." Kakashi ruffled his hair "Its alright, Naruto. Remember, we're all here for you." he said honestly. He couldn't fail him again. "Now then, let's get those wounds tended to then off to bed. We have training tomorrow." With that being said, Sakura and Satsuki patched up his bleeding knuckles. After they finished, they all headed towards their rooms.

Before Satsuki entered her room, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her. "Thank you, you're one of the best things to happen to me," Naruto said as he hugged her. She was happy that she wasn't facing him as she didn't like him seeing her do her best impression of a tomato. "Y-Yeah, obviously I am. And don't you forget it!" she stuttered, earning a chuckle from him. "I never will, goodnight Suki!" he said entering the room he and Kakashi shared, leaving her alone in the hallway, smiling to herself.

"Awwww, Naruto is grateful of Suki-chan!" the sing-song voice of Sakura said behind her. Satsuki tensed before she turned and snapped. "Don't call me that!" she said with her blush dying down but still visible. "Is it because it didn't come from Naruto that you don't like being called that?" Sakura giggled. "Whatever! I'm going to bed." Satsuki stated with a huff. She turned and entered the room. She wasn't gonna dignify that question with a response. That totally wasn't the reason! Sakura rolled her eyes and followed her into the room they shared. "You know I'm never letting this go, right?" The cherry blossom asked as she began to lie down on her futon. The response almost caused her to burst out laughing.

"I hate you."

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Zabuza said as he sat in front of a radio box. He grabbed its microphone and pushed a button. A red light by the microphone lit up before the sound of feedback was heard before it cleared up. "My name is Zabuza Momochi, and I'm documenting my progress on my investigations around Gato's mansion. So far, my suspicions have been confirmed. More and more men get sick by the day, and I heard about this blue rock. I've seen it before. It was huge rock at first now I've seen it broken down to smaller pieces to be distributed to the highest bidder of the ninja villages." he sighed and pulled out a piece of said rock, "I have managed to snag a piece and I wasn't wrong, it glows, and I believe its the reason why people are getting sick. The only people I've seen get sick are the ones who have a piece or have been around the rock for prolonged periods. So much so, that some of the men just drop dead and the corpses fet sent to aome ditch out back. I don't fully understand why I grabbed a piece myself. I feel some of the symptons like the others. The Demon Brothers and I spent some time around this rock before it was dismantled. Gato wanted to see if we had a clue to what it was."

Haku walked into the room to see his master talking into a microphone, and kept quiet. "Haku has returned, we're headed out to finish the job and get our money. I don't want to be here any longer than we have to be" Zabuza finished off before he hit the same button again turning off the light and the radio. "Never took you for recordings type of person." Haku said. "Don't start Haku, how much longer till I'm fully recovered?" he asked. He wanted out of this place.

"Unfortunately, not for another 5 days. I need to go out and look for the necessary herbs to speed along you recovery." Zabuza just stared at the rock in his hand. "What about Gato and his men?" Haku grimaced as he remembered the sight on the way here. "The bodies are piling up, and new thugs are being bought to replace them. Gato stays locked up in his quarters planning his shipments and how to stop the bridge production." The stench of death was slowly growing and becoming suffocating. "Do you feel any of their symptoms?" Haku shook his head. Zabuza seemed pleased with the information. He limped back to his bed, leaning on the wall for support. He nearly fell and Haku rushed to aid him, only for Zabuza's raised hand stopped him. "You're not sick and I wanna keep it that way. I need you in top condition if we plan to kill Kakashi and the bridge builder." Zabuza stated as he managed to get to bed. "Plus I'd rather not just have you drop dead because of a stupid rock."

"Do you know what it does?" Haku was never around the rock his Master never let him near it. He was grateful for that. Staring at it even from a distance disturbed him. It was an unnatural thing. "No, I've never even seen anything like it. I believe it could be a power source of some sorts. I remember Kiri spies mentioning a new source of power Konoha had obtained." Zabuza replied. It was mostly whispers as this was one of the secrets only the Hokage and his trusted few knew about it. "Gato may have some idea since he's been breaking it to smaller fragments to sell of to the highest bidder. I believe he's even found some applications for it himself."

"I see, I'll go out and start gathering herbs for you recovery then." Haku said standing up before he noticed something outside the window. "What is it?" Zabuza asked as he watched Haku walked towards the window.

"I thought I saw someone in the trees, no matter, I'll shall return soon, Master." he said giving one last look around the area before leaving.

"Now isn't this an interesting turn of events." a older man with well groomed facial hair and a fancy looking suit. His black overcoat reached to his knees. He had on a white dress shirt, a redish purple tie, with a matching vest that had black borders. His slick black pants were folded neatly over his white dress shoes. He had on a fancy looking hat with a redish purple strap around it. He looked out of place, not only because his strange outfit in the woods, but also because he was floating above the mansion full of thugs. "This dimension was affected after all. Marvelous." He chuckled to himself. He looked through the window and saw a piece of a rock that his brethren shot into multiple dimensions. He almost didn't see the boy notice his presence. "Time to begin." he vanished in a cloud of purple smoke.
