Not a long chapter, but hope you all enjoyed it anyway.

The Surface

Jack placed a wooden robin in Robin's hand, reaching down and stroking her hair for a moment before, with eyes full of tears; he covered her body with a blanket. Jack let out a shuttering breathe before he felt someone approach him from behind.

"Voss?" he asked without turning around.

"Locked up in a cage," River told him and Jack nodded. "What are you going to do with him?"

"Just leave him there," Jack said, to her surprise.

"Seventy years ago, you would have killed him on the spot," River noted and Jack sighed.

"This isn't seventy years ago. I had to lead these people, and I had to do it by example. I told Voss that we can find a better path, and I believe that. I can't go back on my word just because I hate Voss right now. If, however, Voss bleeds out from me shooting him, well," Jack shrugged as River smirked.

"Now that sounds like the Jack Harkness I know. So, what now?" River asked and Jack got to his feet.

"Now, we make sure Robin didn't die for nothing. Starting by getting you all back up to the Lighthouse," Jack said, his eyes narrowing in determination.

Not long after, on the Command Bridge of the Zephyr, Jemma, Fitz and Daisy were getting things up and running when Jack and River joined them.

"Hey," Coulson said as he spotted them. "Jack…I'm sorry about Robin."

"It's not your fault, Coulson. Now let's make sure she didn't die for nothing," Jack said and Coulson nodded his agreement.

"I agree. Which is why we're going to get this thing in the air and head back to the Lighthouse," Coulson said.

"I have advised against this. The gravity storm will make it difficult to reach the Lighthouse," Enoch pointed out.

"On a normal ship, yes. But this isn't a normal ship," Jack said with a smirk.

Later, Jack pulled off a piece of shielding inside the Zepher, showing the stunned group the tubes filled with Gravitonium throughout the ship.

"Gravitonium," Fitz breathed and Jack nodded.

"You said once that it would get you get back to the Lighthouse. Guess we're about to see if you were right," Jack said as he replaced the shielding. "So, who's ready to go home?"

The Lighthouse

Same time

After leading the humans in driving off the Kree, Mack and The Doctor walked into the salvage yard where they had set up base to see Elena teaching Flint how to shoot a gun.

"What's going on here?" Mack asked as they approached.

"Yo-Yo's teaching me how to shoot," Flint explained.

"One step at a time, hotshot," Elena said before Mack yanked the gun out of Flint's hand.

"Hey! Come on, you said yourself the Blues are gonna be back!" Flint protested.

"And when they do, we'll fight them. Not you," Mack said firmly.

"Look, you've seen what I can do. I can help," Flint argued.

"You remind me of someone I once knew," The Doctor said before Mack could respond. "A boy named Adric."

"Was he an Inhuman too?" Flint asked dryly.

"No, just an ordinary human. But he was smart, very smart. This made him arrogant, made him believe he knew better than anyone else, even those far older and wiser than him. And this is what eventually led him to do something so reckless that it got him killed," The Doctor said softly, a haunted look in his eyes as everyone else was silent. "Flint, we all know how powerful you are. But that does not make you invincible. Someone will need to give your people hope when we leave here. You can't do that by being reckless."

"Which is what you're trying to teach me," Flint realized as he looked over at Mack.

"You can't save humanity by turning them into a mob," Mack said, The Doctor nodding his agreement when a resident of the Lighthouse burst into the salvage yard.

"Mack, Kasius sent a messenger."

The five of them walked out, seeing the rest of the humans gathered around the messenger, talking quickly.

"All right, everyone back up. Make room," Mack ordered.

They did so, revealing a young woman around Deke's age. Everyone but The Doctor stared in shock.

"Santo Infierno," Elena muttered.

"What's going on? Who is this?" The Doctor asked, sensing he was missing something.

"No way. Tess?" Flint asked before he hugged the young woman. "I thought you were dead."

"I was," Tess said a haunted look on her face.

"I fought. I begged. They dragged me to the exchange. Knives are cold," Tess said later as she explained what had happened to The Doctor, Mack, Elena and Flint.

"It's okay Tess, you're safe," Mack sad gently.

"But I don't feel the same!" Tess snapped.

"You're not. What happened to you…it'll change you. Trust me, I know," The Doctor said kindly, remembering his many Regenerations.

"You talk like you know," Tess noted and The Doctor smiled tightly.

"I do, but now isn't the time. Kasius had to revive you for a reason. Did he say why?" The Doctor inquired.

"I'm more interested in how she's back. Is it magic?" Flint wondered.

"SHIELD dealt with something like this before," Elena said as she exchanged a look with Mack.

"We've seen Kree biology used to bring someone back to life before," Mack explained.

"I heard rumors that it was possible, but I thought it was just the ramblings of madmen," The Doctor said in disbelief.

"Kasius said he 'smothered the fires of death with the blood of the eternal'. That's how he talks. It's horrible," Tess said with a shudder.

"I'm so sorry, Tess. It was me who took Flint during the ceremony," Elena said in guilt.

"If I could do what you do, I'd have done the same," Tess said tearfully.

"I say we get in that elevator, we go down there and we kill them all," Flint said angrily.

"Absolutely not," Mack said immediately.

"I have powers-"

"Did you not learn a thing from my story, Flint? About Adric?" The Doctor interrupted with a sigh. "This is why I stopped traveling with teenagers, they never listen. The plan is to defeat Kasius, but we can't be reckless about it. We have to be smart, not rush in halfcocked. That is how a revolution dies."

"You can't beat Kasius, he's a god. That's why I'm standing here, as proof," Tess said with a haunted look in her eyes.

"I've fought people who claim to be gods before. Guess what, Tess? None of them were gods, merely madmen with delusions of grandeur," The Doctor told her. "Kasius is no different. And when we beat him, you'll see that too."

"You don't get it! He said if I don't bring him everything he wants, he'd end the human race with the push of a button!" Tess snapped emotionally.

"What does he want?" Flint asked.

"You," Tess announced, stunning them into silence. "Everything he needs to keep breeding Inhumans. Every child older than 10, and motivation for the Destroyer."

"The Destroyer?" Elena questioned.

"Of worlds. Your friend Daisy. He's working on getting her back," Tess explained.

"That's what he's been calling her. Any idea why?" The Doctor inquired and Tess shrugged.

"I didn't ask."

"Motivation? You mean us?" Mack asked, gesturing to himself and Elena.

"Or we all burn," Tess said grimly.

"I don't think so. I've encountered many people who have tried to end the human race. The Daleks, the Master, The Cybermen, and many more. Compared to them, Kasius is a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum," The Doctor paused. "Which, considering what we know of his history, isn't much of an exaggeration."

"You have a plan, don't you?" Mack realized with a grin, which The Doctor returned.

"If Kasius is doing what I think he's doing, then I know not only how to stop it, but how to turn his own weapon against him. It's time we face Kasius."

The confrontation with Kasius is coming, so buckle up everyone.
