Today's episode is titled:
-Special Day-
The morning started out like any other in the smallest neighborhood of Brisbane, home of the Heeler family. It was around five when the sun dawned over the renowned hill with its shining light, marking the end of nighttime for Brisbane's sleeping residents. Most of them, those being middle aged and elderly dogs, were the first to wake up in order to engage in common daily activities such as getting ready to work, morning jogs around the park, or even a quick shop at the groceries, whilst having a nice chitchat with friends and locals alike. But for this occasion, in particular, it was the parents that were getting their children ready for school who were at the center of everything.
At about six o'clock, Chilli Heeler made her way to her daughters' bedroom in order to wake her 12-year-old and her 10-year-old daughter respectively for the big day to come for the former. The door creaked slowly as the Red Heeler peeked inside the room, only for her to see the two girls sleeping soundly under their own blankets.
Chilli, fully understanding the whole situation the two of them were concocting to surprise her, tiptoed to Bluey's bed first and prepared to wake her up since she obviously was 'asleep' and not awakened.
-"Come on, hon, it's time to wake up" said Chilli playfully while nudging her lightly. This made the young Heeler giggle a little, proving that in fact it was all a rouse they were making up for their mother.
-"What's the password?" asked Bluey gleefully while still hiding in her sheets.
-"Password? O-oh, well… is it a number?" replied Chilli dubiously as she scratched the back of her head.
-"Psst, psst…" hissed Bingo's voice from across the room, calling her attention. "What's Bluey favorite ice cream?"
-"Bluey's favorite ice cream…hmmmm… is it straw…"
-"Bzzt!"
-"Mangoes!" reasserted Chilli quickly, hoping that her answer would get her daughter out of bed successfully, and it did.
Bluey kicked the blankets away, superhero style, and jumped from her bed to the floor, landing perfectly with both feet. As usual, the older Heeler was brimming with pep and cheerfulness in her way of acting, something that always amused her mother from the inside. It was as if the 7-year-old version of her daughter hadn't disappeared through the passing of years.
Bingo wasn't that much different either. Following her older sister's fashion, she too dazzlingly rose from bed and made a stunning-yet more moderate-performance by standing around in one foot. Then she finished her small act with a quick twirl and a happy 'TA-DAA!' that was accompanied by Chilli's contented wows and claps for the two of them.
-"It's clear that you girls should have become performers instead of school girls" joked her mother lightheartedly as both Bluey's and Bingo's giggles filled the room.
-"Groan… is it… finally morning?" wondered the youngest voice among them sleepily.
In the center of all the joy, a 7-year-old, odd eyed, Yakutian Laika with fuzzy white and black colored fur, emerged from his purple sleeping bag set between the two older Heelers' beds. Now normally, he would have woken up without making a grand display in the process, but he guessed that that was part of being a Heeler, and it quite entertained him.
This is Mark Yakutian, he's our cousin from mom's side after aunt Brandy married uncle Maxim. Both him and Mark are from Russia, which is a very cold place according to them. Mom said that all started when she met uncle Maxim at the airport, and that she helped him out since he didn't know too much about Brisbane. Then, she insisted aunt Brandy to go on a date with him, that it would do her some good.
Both of them started dating out; and after some time, uncle Maxim introduced Mark to aunt Brandy. When Bingo asked mom about his mother, she soon explained us that Mark's mom had some problems at the hospital, and that she passed away after giving birth to Mark. We were sad to hear this, but mom reassured us; saying that aunt Brandy and Mark filled that empty space each of them were feeling, and uncle Maxim couldn't be happier for them both.
-"Oh, I'm sorry, Mark. We didn't mean to wake you up" said Chilli, feeling already at fault by this. Yet, the young Yakutian Laika was quick to shrug it off as he scrubbed his brown and blue eye respectively.
-"It's ok, aunt Chilli" he replied before giving a bright smile of his own. "I too can't wait for Bluey's big day!"
-"Dawww!" squealed both young Heelers cheerfully at Mark's childish display.
-"Alright, alright, kids. If we want to make sure to arrive on time we have to get started like now" announced Chilli for the youngsters to follow while she tidied the room.
-"Sure, mom! Bingo, can I use the bathroom first? I need to wash my hair" asked Bluey to which her younger sister complied with a nod and a 'sure'.
-"Bingo, can you watch me over brush my teeth?" wondered Mark with his little tail wagging, to which the Red Heeler not just accepted, but also offered to comb his messy bedhead.
As if on cue, the Blue Heeler dashed to the bathroom, but not before greeting both her aunt and uncle, whose room was just across Bingo's and hers. Since that separated room fiasco, the once empty bedroom quickly became a guest room for other family members to stay in.
Soon Bingo and Mark tagged along, following Bluey's example. The former greeting them politely, while the latter approached both his father and stepmother more affectingly with morning hugs and kisses.
The hallway started to get crowded no sooner than that when Bandit came asking for help with his tie, just as Chilli also happened to be present for the laughs.
-"Can you blame me for it? Last time I used this thing was at our wedding!" joked the older Blue Heeler frantically in his usual thick Australian accent. Luckily for him, Brandy's spouse was already an expert in this tying a tie chore, due to his work as an important financial advisor.
With a 'thanks, mate' from Bandit, Maxim was done tightening the knot closer to the Heeler's neck. It had been his choice afterall, to be his older daughter chaperone at the kids' gathering-prior to their graduation ceremony-along with other several other parents whom he was friend with, or that he knew they lived in Brisbane like them.
But there'll be plenty of time to think about that later, right now the clock was ticking and everyone inside the house also needed their precious time in the bathroom. For this reason alone, Bandit lightly knocked the door before stating out loud.
-"Kiddo! Try not to stay longer in the bath this time, remember there's more people waitin'!"
-"I already know that, dad!" cried Bluey a little infuriated by his father's overly preaching.
-"She's growing so fast" mentioned Brandy, sounding a tad nostalgic as she reminisced the times the two of them shared when Bluey was still in her middle-childhood years. Looking back then, she still held onto the image of that happy running girl in zebra's onesie very fondly.
-"And she'll become a fine lady for sure" added Maxim as he tenderly embraced his partner with one arm, before addressing to the honored parents.
-"You two did a great job raising her" he complimented them, and the two Heelers appreciated his kind words.
-"Hey-hey! What about me, uncle Maxim?!" cried an obviously jealous Bingo with a pout, which made all of the adults chuckled at the Red Heeler's pettiness.
-"My bad, my bad. Two fine ladies do live in this house" laughed the older Yakutian Laika while patting Bingo's hair.
-"But you will have to wait a couple of years more for that to happen, hon" said Chilli with a smile still plastered on her face.
-"And you can bet we'll all be there to congratulate you, just like your sister today" mentioned her father kindheartedly with both hands on her shoulders. Hearing both his and her mother's words was enough for a contented Bingo to turn around before hugging her dad with great affection.
Buey spared no effort in getting herself ready for the upcoming graduation. Not only her hair and blue fur were bright and smooth, after many rinsing and repeating, but also her teeth looked pretty spotless at first sight according to her mom, who was doing her hair at the girls' room.
-"Have you decided what to wear?" asked Chilli while brushing the backside of her daughter's head.
-"Mmm… I'm not sure" pondered Bluey still in doubt. "The orange dress looks pretty, but I think the yellow one matches better with my sunflower hair clip" she added, pointing at each dress respectively. And sure enough, Chilli wasted no time in sharing her thoughts about it as well, regardless of how she was going to take them.
-"Mackenzie sure gave you a nice gift at the fair, don't you think?"
-"I-it's not like that, mom!" cried Bluey embarrassedly as she squeezed her fingers on her knees. In the Heeler's mind, they were just two good friends since elementary school-nothing more-regardless how everyone in the family apparently perceived that nice gesture of him.
-"Sorry, sorry. I let that one slipped, ain't I?" replied Chilli enthusiastically for her blushed daughter.
-"Is the future high schooler ready? We have some friendly visitors here!" stated Bandit's voice from the first floor, calling up her daughter to come down.
-"Coming! Just give me some minutes!" she answered excited.
Bluey already knew who the people her dad was talking about were. It had been their idea afterall, as it seemed a little sad, they couldn't celebrate this joyous day together. Once her mom was done and she was fully dressed, she hurried downstairs to greet her also future high schooler friends: Lucky and Judo, who were also appropriately clothed for the occasion.
-"Lookin' good there, Bluey" said Lucky's dad, Pat, commending her.
-"Why yes, you look dazzlingly, if I do say so myself" commented Judos's mom with high praise.
-"Thanks!" replied the happy Blue Heeler before she addressed to both her next-door friends.
-"You two also look great with your clothes" she complimented both the Chow Chow's turquoise dress and the Labrador's navy blue suit jacket with red bowtie.
-"Thanks, Bluey" replied Lucky with a smile.
-"Can you believe it? We're practically high schoolers now! No more children's rules. We can eat what we want, watch the movies we couldn't and best of all, have our own independency and prestige" mentioned Judo daydreaming without noticing the looks in disbelief her friends shared.
-"You make it sound too easy, Judo. Aren't you a little scared?" asked the yellow Labrador a bit ironically.
-"W-well… yes, obviously! Aren't we all? But as long as we are together, we can do anything, right? Cause… you'll be attending Rotherfurd high…?" she trailed off, sounding genuinely worried for their answers.
-"I know I am" nodded Lucky reassuringly.
-"Me too! And all my friends from my class as well! You already know Rusty, Snickers and Coco. But I'm sure the others will also like you" added Bluey to cheer up the Chow Chow, which she did.
Yes, Judo was right. Today was going to be an important day for us…

-"Bluey! Stop spacing out and let's take some pictures!" announced Judo very demanding, which in return startled the surprised Blue Heeler.
-"Wait! Don't start without me!" complained Bluey as she approached her two friends.
Judo have picked a nice place by the bookshelf to start photoshooting. With her cellphone in hand, and both Lucky and Bluey in position right next to her, the Chow Chow tapped on the screen to invert the camera, so that the three could take a nice selfie together.
-"On the count of three: one… two… three… Rotherfurd High!" they cheered in unison. Then soon enough, all three each took turns with their own phones at different places around the house, inviting everyone they could to join them; with Bingo being the one that appeared at most of the pictures in the end.
