Anyways, enjoy the story!
Song inspired called: Song of Joy by Erutan
Kaiju, ancient gigantic titans that roamed the Earth for billions of years, are slowly awakening from their eternal slumber to wreak havoc on humanity. It's up to Val and her family to work together to stop these ancient creatures from destroying the world or possibly each other.
The only way to do so is to think big and have big allies.
Luckily for them, they have few good Kaijus on their side, and the King of all Monsters himself. Godzilla.
~Few years ago before Val was adopted to Owen~
On a quiet night in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Little Val was in her bed, tucked in and snuggling with her snuggling her stuffed raptor doll, Honey. Her mother, Alma, was reading to her baby girl a story about Beauty and the Beast (the friendly version) and telling her that love can break any curse. Val snuggles close to her mommy, sitting next to her as she shows her the picture of Belle freeing the Beast from his curse, revealing to be a handsome prince. And both married in the end.
"And they lived happily ever after, the end." Alma closes the book, smiling towards awestruck daughter.
"That story was beautiful, mommy." Val said happily, snuggling close to her mother.
Alma smiles and hugs her daughter, "I'm happy that you love it, sweetie."
As Alma cuddles with her daughter, the little girl's bright blue eyes land on the cover of the book, showing the beast. Val wonders if there are real monsters besides in her story book that her mommy always read her. Are monsters real or just pretend? She sometimes thinks her neighbors were actually monsters, but they were wearing realistic costumes on Halloween and her dad, Oscar, tells her that they are not real. Yet...sometimes monsters can be real, when it is very dark.
"Mommy?" Val suddenly called her mother, looking at her with wide eyes. "Do you believe in monsters?" Little Val asked her mother.
Alma was slightly confused by that sudden question. She wonders why Val asked her that? Nonetheless, she will answer her daughter, for she could see curiosity in her eyes.
"Do I believe in monsters?" Alma asked her daughter before smiling at her gently. "I do."
"You do?" Val asked her mommy with wide eyes.
Alma nodded her head. "I do."
Val makes a scared face and she hugs Honey. "They're scary." She whispers out.
Alma's face shows a small smile as she tucks Val to bed. "They are, but not all monsters are bad."
Val tilted her head. "They aren't?"
"Yes, there are good monsters. And really, really, really bad monsters."
Val was confused yet worried. "What are they called?" Val asked her mother.
"They have many names. Some called them monsters, giant beasts of doom, titans, but they are also called Kaijus."
Val tilts her head. "Kaijus?"
"It's a Japanese word for monsters." Alma said to her daughter kindly.
Alma takes one of Val's stuffed dinosaur plushie, a t-rex, and plays it around. "Big, scary, yet stunning looking creatures that are bigger than any skyscraper."
Val watched in awe at the t-rex plushie being played on her blanket. Alma takes another plushy, a bird one, and flies it around her giggling daughter.
"Big birds that could out fly a jet!" Alma sets the toy down, bringing up a plushy fish, and makes it swim around, "And giant sea creatures that outswim or flip boats!"
Val gasped in awe, already imagining the giant creatures in her head. Alma smiles at her daughter's reaction before placing down the toys.
"Even though there are bad monsters, there's a good monster that protects the little people from them."
"Really?" Val asked in wonder.
"Really, he keeps balance to the world, and makes sure that this world would remain safe."
"Did you meet this Kai-ju?" Val asked, trying to pronounce the name.
Alma smiles at her daughter gently, "Once, when I was your age, he was the strongest Kaiju of them all."
"Who?" Val asked her mommy, leaning closer.
Alma smiles and hugs her daughter. "He is the King of All Monsters and his name is Godzilla."
"Godzilla?" Val repeats the name in a curious manner.
"Yes, Godzilla is the king of this planet, he makes sure that the other Kaijus stay in line and will fight the bad ones to keep them from hurting others."
"How long did they live here, mommy?" Val asked her mother curiously.
"These titan-like beings ruled this planet for many years." Almas explained to her daughter, putting the toys in front of her. "They can't be controlled but...there are some who can be your friends."
"I can be friends with them?" Val asked almost excitingly.
"Yes, yes you can, but only a few can be your friends." Alma informs her daughter.
Val made a curious look, wondering what kind of Kaijus she can be friends with, "How can I know if they're the friendly ones?"
Alma giggled and placed her hand onto her chest. "When you hear a strong heartbeat and a bond, that's when you know that they can be friends, and you must sing a special song for the bond to work."
"What song?" Val asked Alma curiously.
Alma then begins humming and vocalizing the song to her daughter, and Val listens to it with a happy smile on her face. Her mommy's voice was always soothing to hear. And she listens to the song that Alma was singing to her. After a few more verses, Alma finishes her song and gently caresses her daughter's face.
"The song was beautiful, mommy." Val complimented with a tired smile.
Alma smiles back and nuzzles her daughter's nose with hers. "Yes, the song of joy," She whispers to her daughter. "Singing the song will make you feel better. So, don't be scared."
Val smiles and cuddles close to her mother. "…I'm not scared."
"That's my girl." Alma kisses her daughter's forehead and tucks her to bed. "Now, time for bed, my little raptor."
Val lets out a yawn and cuddles Honey close. "Goodnight, mommy. I love you!"
Alma was at the door and smiled at her daughter. "I love you too, my darling." She then closes the light, and the nightlight automatically turns on, "Sweet dreams."
With that said, Alma closes the door, while drifting to sweet slumber, dreaming of giant creatures being her friends.
But as she slept, the shadow of the t-rex plushie was cast on a wall, making it look like a giant theropod creature. And no one could hear a distinct roar that was made from the background.
SKREEEEOOOONNNGGGHHHHHKKK!
-Present time in Sunny City-
"Val! C! Masie! Wakey-wakey, I made pancakes!" Owen Grady called out from below.
Nine year olds Val, Celestia, and Maisie woke from their shared room. Val and Celestia were sleeping on a bunk bed while Maisie got a single bed, decorated with beautiful flowers. The three young girls yawned, stretching their arms before getting off their beds. The three girls ran down the stairs, greeting their dog, Redford, who was waiting for them to eat breakfast together. They reach the dining table, where they see Owen and Claire, preparing breakfast. And sitting on a highchair was Marcus (Val and Celestia's cousin, and Maisie's younger brother) and Tobi (Maisie's adoptive older brother) who was feeding Marcus his banana baby food. They greeted them before joining them for breakfast.
"So, are you girls ready to visit the dinosaurs this summer?" Owen asked his girls.
"Yes!" The three girls said cheerfully.
It was summer break and the family decided to go to the dinosaur sanctuary called the Jurassic World Research Center, where they study dinosaurs and find cures for diseases and illnesses. Funded by, not just Masrani Global Corporation, but also another company called Trinity Industry. Trinity Industry is a billion-dollar company that creates advanced robotic prosthetics, glasses that help the blind see, hearing aids for the deaf could hear, voice collars that allow the mute to speak, and even artificial organs and artificial bloods. It was a groundbreaking discovery in the field of medicines. Running the company was none other than Foxtrot, she uses her holo-form's human name, Fiona Trinity, to make the company, and uses rare materials that can only be found on their island to create it.
The head scientists in the research center are Dr. Henry Wu, Dr. Archibald 'Archie' Creature, and Dr. Victoria Vision. They work hard to make sure that this research facility won't fall apart or make the same mistakes in the past. They monitor the dinosaurs, especially the hybrids. They are monitored 24/7, making sure they are comfortable.
Later, after breakfast, the Gradys went to the Jurassic World Research Center via helicopter ride, courtesy of Dr. Wu, and reached the private island where the research center is. They were soon greeted by their friends, Quinn, Aggie, Gem, Kendall, and Damien along with Marco, Barry, the four experiments, Alex, Sofia, Jay, and Mike. They were picked up too by helicopters and were there to see the important news. The adults left the kids to play with the hybrids and the raptor squad in a private field. Val, Celestia, and Maisie ride on Ripper the Indoraptor, playing chase with the raptor squad and the Scorpios rex siblings. The grownups went off to meet with Wu, Archie, and Victoria. Discussing the island's security. Tobi was in charge watching the kids as well as babysitting Marcus.
The kids took a break near a huge lake, resting on top of the hybrids while Val, Celestia, and Maisie were on top of a resting Ripper, chatting about the games they should play. Just as they chatted, two superheroes dropped by to visit, and it was Dark Twilight and Spider-Man.
"Hi, Dark! Hi, Spider-Man!" The three young girls greeted them happily.
"Hey, kiddos." Dark greeted them.
"How are you doing?" Spider-Man asked the three girls kindly.
The little girls responded to the hero with their adorable chatters while Spider-Man listened. Dark smirks in amusement before her communicator rang; she answered and walked away, talking to Fury.
"Hey, Fury...yeah, I know...yes, I'll tell them to check on the MUTOs...Don't worry. They're still in captivity with their hundreds of babies...I know, I know, we're still monitoring the other dormant Kaijus...okay, later!"
When Dark ended the call, she noticed Maisie looking at her, "What?"
"What's a Kaiju?" Maisie asked, after hearing half of her conversation.
"Oh, it's a Japanese word for monster." Dark explained the name. "They are ancient gigantic creatures long before any humans even existed. They were even records of humans and Kaijus and humans coexisted in ancient times, worshiping them as gods and serving as inspiration for many mythological monsters."
"Really?! That's so cool!" Maisie said in awe. "So, that means, do you have Kaijus here? You mention Moo...too?"
"It's actually MUTO." Spider-Man was the one that corrected her.
"Why is it called that?" Maisie asked, tilting her head.
"The name is an acronym for "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism" MUTO for short." Dark explained to Maisie.
"So...it's an alien?" Maisie asked, earning nods from everyone. "How come I didn't see them when I was on Isola Della Vita?"
Dark looks at the kids. "You didn't tell her?"
"Well, with everything that had happened to us...we kinda forgot to tell her." Quinn confessed sheepishly.
"Huh, well, it's time for Maisie to know about MUTOs." Dark said before looking at Maisie. "To answer your first question, the MUTOs are not there, but in another dimension. We brought them to a secluded dimension where they can reproduce without causing damage here."
Maisie was confused by this. "What happened?"
"Well, where do we even start?" Spider-Man sits on a nearby rock with his legs crossed. "It was one of our crazy adventures yet."
"How did it happen?" Maisie asked, already wanting to know the story.
"Get comfy, Maisie. It's gonna be a long story." Dark said with a grin.
Maisie obeyed and sat on the grass with her cousin and Redford on her lap. Ripper was behind them with the raptor squad and the hybrids and Tobi was sitting close by with Marcus on his lap. The others sat along as Dark began her tale.
"So, about a few years ago, before Mount Sibo eruption, me, Spider-Man, White Tiger, and Iron Fist were sent on a mission by Fury to learn about this organization called Monarch."
Maisie tilted her head. "Monarch?"
"Monarch is a secretive scientific organization that specializes in monitoring and observing Kaiju or Titans that are present on Earth." Dark explained to Maisie about the Monarch organization.
"Oh...wait, if they were a secret, how come you know about them?" Maisie asked Dark in surprise.
"Simple, I hack into their computers in a second and find what they are." Dark casually said with a grin while Spider-Man made a blank look and shook his head at her. "Anyways, we were sent to an abandoned nuclear power plant located in the city of Janjira, Japan."
"Why were you there?" Maisie asked them.
"To investigate a weird reading that S.H.I.E.L.D. picked up on one of their satellites. They don't know what it was or what it did, but it seemed heavily guarded by soldiers working for Monarch. We thought that they were keeping the radiation from the abandoned power plant stable, but what we didn't know is that that Monarch was hiding something very, very, very big in that abandoned power plant station. And damn, we did not expect it."
"It was about four years ago after we escaped from Hell island full of red xenomorphs, Fury assigned me, Spidey, White Tiger, and Iron Fist to go on this undercover mission to find out what Monarch was up to in the abandoned city of Janjira. But what we didn't expect was that Monarch was keeping something hidden, but couldn't contain it."
Dark, Spider-Man, White Tiger, and Iron Fist were in Dark's quinjet, heading towards Janjira, Japan. The jet was on cloak, practically invisible in both sky and raider. When they arrived, they saw the city completely abandoned, desecrated and devoid of all life.
"Woah...this place is like an apocalypse happened." Spider-Man commented.
"Yeah, what happened here?" White Tiger asked, looking through the window of the jet.
"It's a big tragedy, actually." Dark said, piloting the jet. "About maybe 16 or 15 years ago, there was a massive earthquake that struck Janjira that collapsed the nuclear power plant down to the ground. Forcing everyone to evacuate their homes to prevent themselves from getting exposed to radiation."
"Like the Chernobyl disaster of 1986?" Spider-Man questions, remembering the dark history of that terrible disaster.
"Exactly like the Chernobyl disaster, however. What's weird is that the other regions of Kanto, Tokai, and Fujiyama were unaffected. Some say it was just aftershocks from the Philippine earthquake that might have caused it, but they are not entirely sure."
"Do you think there's more to it?" Asked Spider-Man.
"Possibly, but all the data of that day was lost, and they declared Janjira as a death zone, preventing any stragglers from entering this town." Dark explained to the others.
"Such a tragedy to lose a home with innocent fallen," Iron Fist said solemnly, clasping his hands together, respecting the fallen of the tragedy.
"Oh, yeah." Dark said in agreement before she remembers something. "Almost forgot, Spider-Man, check the Geiger counter to find an area that is safe for me to land the jet, far from the radiation."
Spider-Man nods his head and uses the Geiger counter in the jet. The Geiger counter is an electronic instrument used for detecting and measuring ionizing radiation. Dark's jet has one if she or her team ever to go to radiative areas. However, when Spider-Man uses the Geiger counter, it doesn't emit any sounds, just eerie silence.
"Huh..." Spider-Man mutters out.
"What's the statues in the radiation, Spidey?" Dark asked, focusing on the area.
"Nothing."
"What?" Dark turns to him in confusion. "What do you mean 'nothing'? This place is radioactive."
"I know but...look at this, it doesn't show any radiation or whatsoever."
"The hell?" Dark gets up and looks at White Tiger. "Take over, Tiger." She said while leaving her seat and White Tiger took the wheel. Dark walks over to Spider-Man as he shows her that there are no signs of radiation from Janjira, not even a little.
"See? "The radiation in this place should be lethal, but there's nothing." Spider-Man said to Dark, becoming confused on why there were no signs of radiation.
"This doesn't make sense." Dark mutters out, sharing the same confusion as Spider-Man, "The news article from years ago states that due to the collapsing of the power plant, Janjira was covered with radiation, unless..."
"Unless it was covered up." Spider-Man said in realization. "Didn't Fury say that Janjira was under quarantine?"
"Yeah." Dark, White Tiger, and Iron Fist all agreed in unison.
"Who ordered it to be in a quarantine?" Spider-Man asked his team.
Dark's eyes looked at the screen with narrowed eyes. "An unknown organization called Monarch. Fury doesn't know much about them, but he heard that they study strange anomalies or something that is unknown. And I bet my money that they know what really happened to Janjira."
"Do you think they caused the accident?" White Tiger asked.
"Hard to say, Monarch arrived just after the power plant went down...maybe they knew something was going to happen, and it was too late to stop it." Spider-Man theorized.
"Either way, let's land on that building and find out what really happened in Janjira." Dark said to her group.
White Tiger landed the jet on a building close to the nuclear power plant. They check the radiation reading, and still show no signs of radiation, making them more suspicious. They were so close to the power plant, yet no signs of radiation. Something was up. So, the four young heroes sneakily went off the building and carefully made their way to the power plant.
"Man, this place looked terrible up close." Spider-Man said, walking through the abandoned streets of Janjira.
"This is what happens when people have to leave their city." Dark said to Spider-Man.
While they explore the abandoned city, two street dogs run past them, surprising the group in the process. Dark got a good look at those dogs. They show no sign of mutation by radiation. They look perfectly normal, indicating that there is no radiation or it does not exist. As they continued, they stopped when they heard a helicopter flying by. They quickly took cover, and hid as they saw the helicopter heading towards a certain direction. There, they spotted something on the other side of the river, they could see lights and helicopters of the once abandoned nuclear power plant.
"What the?" White Tiger mutters out in confusion and surprise. "Are they rebuilding the plant?"
"Looks like it, but...why?" Spider-Man answers quietly.
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling they have something that no one should know about." Dark said to her group. "We need to find a way in and...Hello..." Dark suddenly said.
Spider-Man looks at Dark in confusion. "Is something wrong?"
"We're not alone. Someone is here." Dark said to her group.
The trio looked around to see no one. "I don't see anyone." Spider-Man said to Dark.
"That's because she is not visible in the eyes of the living." Dark answered to him casually.
Spider-Man's eyes widen under his mask. "Eyes of the living...are you talking about a ghost?"
"Yup." Dark answered, looking up ahead on the street.
There stood a woman about in her late thirties. She has dark brown pixie cut style hair and brown eyes, wearing a grayish-blue hazmat suit. Dark got a closer look and saw a nametag written in English and Japanese. The name was S. Brody with Janjira on the bottom.
"Dark, who is this?" White Tiger, feeling a sudden chill from her spine.
"A ghost of a deceased worker of the Janjira power plant." Dark answered, causing the group to gasp.
"Why is she here?" Spider-Man asked her.
"Ghost can't cross the afterlife unless there's unfinished business. She must have something and wants us to figure it out, so she can finally cross." Dark said to her group as she looked at the woman. "Can you help us get in there?"
Dark points at the power plant. The woman follows her gaze and then smiles at her with a nod. She gestures to follow her, and Dark told her group to come along, which they did. The mysterious ghost woman leads them to an underground sewer system that leads them all the way to the power plant. They were surprised that this sewer system was still one piece. They walked for about thirty minutes until they reached their destination. A ladder that leads to the manhole above. Dark uses her magic to sense any presence on the surface. Luckily, there was none, and told her team to get ready to go up. But before they leave, Dark turns to the woman and thanks her.
"Thanks for the help, lady. We'll find out what really happened and get your soul to rest." Dark assures her.
The ghost woman smiles at Dark before grabbing her hand and covering it with hers. Dark raises a brow at the smiling woman before she vanishes. Dark's hand remained close before Spider-Man went to her.
"What do you get there, Dark?" Spider-Man asked his teammate.
Dark opens her hand to see a wedding ring with a name engraved on the inside.
"Sandra Brody." Dark reads out the name of the ghost woman. "That was the ghost woman that helped us." She then placed the ring in her pocket before looking up. "Let's move. We have to find out what the hell is Monarch up to."
With that said, the group climbed up the ladder, and Dark opened the manhole, enough to peek to see the close was clear. Seeing no people, Dark gets off the manhole and helps the others up. The group found themselves inside of an abandoned street of the power plant. They quickly got close and took cover. They peek from their hiding spot and saw that there was some kind of massive facility built over the remains. Security was at nearly every corridor, and men in hazard suits were running around all over the place.
"Why are there so many guards?" White Tiger asked quietly, hiding behind and fallen debris with the others.
"Monarch keeping something hidden." Dark responded quietly. She then spotted an area that was far and many workers wearing hazmat suits were going there. Smirking, Dark turns to the other. "Follow my lead."
The group agreed and secretly went into hiding. When no one was looking, four people wearing hazmat suits entered the facility without being stopped by the guards, thinking that they were also working here. Unbeknownst to the guards, those four people were actually Dark, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and White Tiger. They were perfectly blended in and no one suspected them. Dark smirks at her plan. Knowing that they got in without being caught.
"Man, it's actually working." Spider-Man said through mind-link. "They think we're workers here."
"Workers of what exactly?" White Tiger asked, walking along the group of people in front of them. "I'm not even sure they're here to monitor any radiation exposure."
"She's right, they're monitoring something here." Dark said, looking around the area. "And we're about to find out."
They followed the other hazmat suit workers into the facility, seeing many guards and vehicles close by. The four heroes were getting suspicious about this until they reached their target area. As they entered the plant proper, they saw that nearly had their eyes popped out from their sockets.
Within the top of the reactor was a huge rock-like substance and curve inward. The segments of the substance produce bright orange bioluminescent flashes, occasionally revealing the silhouette of an unknown creature. Wires and catwalk railings surrounded the strange looking glowing rock, like they were studying it.
"What...is...that?" Spider-Man asked in a shock whisper.
"I...I think it's some sort of chrysalis?" Dark guessed, looking at the huge thing in front of them.
"A chrysalis? Like how a caterpillar emerges as a butterfly?" Iron Fist asked her.
"Yeah, but I'm guessing it ain't gonna be a friendly butterfly." Dark said, already seeing the silhouette of the unknown creature when the orange bioluminescent flashes.
"Oh, joy." White Tiger said sarcastically, already dreading the creature inside the chrysalis is gonna be terrifying like the Red Xenomorph hybrids.
The group venture further in the facility before they are spotted on top of a control tower to see people inside. Dark could see them talking about the giant chrysalis. Dark informs her team about the tower, and they knew that the higher ups were discussing the chrysalis.
"Wonder what's happening up there?" Spider-Man mutters out.
"Don't know, but I think we can get some info." Dark said before using bits of her magic to create a small shadow spider.
The shadow spider crawls with incredible speed, heading towards the tower. It climbed to the wall while Dark and the others pretended to check on the system. The shadow spider made its way to the wall of the tower, under the window. It can hear the conversation on the other side, allowing the others to hear it telepathically. In doing so, the strange chrysalis pulsed slowly. Then it pulsed faster, and faster, until it let out an EMP effect which momentarily shorted the power before it returned right away. The computer monitors brought up the scans of the pulses and showed that the pulses were growing shorter.
"Whoa, what just happened?" White Tiger asked, startled by the flashing lights.
"I think...it emitted a small EMP." Spider-Man theorizes.
"Electromagnetic pulse? Can that be possible?" Iron Fist asked his comrade.
"It can't be possible...can it?" White Tiger asked towards the group.
"Unless it is. Whatever that creature is inside that thing, it can create its own EMP." Dark said to her group. "Listen to this."
Dark's shadow spider sends a telepathic message of the conversation in the control tower.
"Seven-point-two seconds and getting stronger." Said a technician in the room, looking through the monitor that shows wave scales that are the shape of a flat hill.
He was talking to the head of the Monarch. Dr. Ishirō Serizawa. The biologist was looking at the chrysalis with intelligence and a stoic demeanor. He was trying to figure out what creature was inside the chrysalis. Just then, a guard came to Serizawa with information.
"Excuse me, Dr. Serizawa? Two men were just arrested in the Q-zone." The guard said to Serizawa.
"We've got bigger problems here. Have Dr. Graham take a look." A scientist, named Gregory Whelan, said to the guard.
"She did, sir. She sent me." The guard said to Whelan, "One of them says he used to work here, doctor."
This caught Serizawa's attention as he turned towards the guard, showing that he wanted to speak with the man. The gang was now curious about this and Dark ordered the shadow spider to follow. It did, and made its way to the pipe, watching from above as Serizawa was with a Senior Paleozoologist, Vivienne Graham.
Graham is Serizawa's partner. She helps Serizawa in Monarch's research and data update about chrysalis. Now, they have to deal with a man that is inside a room that is being used as a makeshift interrogation room. They could hear the man named Joe Brody, a former Nuclear Physicist of Janjira Nuclear Energy Facility. He was babbling like a madman, arguing with the interrogator.
"You're not fooling anybody when you say what happened 15 years ago was a natural disaster." Joe said rudely towards the interrogator.
"We found these disks and print outs in his bag," Graham said as she showed Serizawa Joe's confiscated belongings. "We're not sure what to make of it."
"Not an earthquake, it wasn't a typhoon. Okay? So stop." Joe Brody said to them, he knows they are watching him. "Look, I'm tired of talking to you about this. I want my son. I wanna see my son. I wanna know that he's all right. This guy, this guy knows. He knows where he is."
Joe gets up and points blindly at the one-way window, where Serizawa stood with Graham.
"Musuko wa dokoda?" Joe spoke in Japanese (Where is my son?). He then spoke English, yelling. "I want my son. And I want my bag and discs. And I wanna talk to somebody in charge, not you. No, not you. I'm done talking to you. All right? You're looking at me right now, like I'm in a fish tank, right? That's fine. Because I know what happened here. And you keep telling everybody that this place is a death zone, but it's not! You're lying. Because what's really happening is that you're hiding something out there."
Joe slows down and looks at the one-way window. "I'm right, aren't I? My wife died here! Something killed my wife. And I've a right to know! I deserve answers!" He said, barely able to keep his sentence clear as tears were welling in his eyes.
"Holy shit." Dark mutters as she hears the last part. "Joe Brody...that's the ghost woman's husband! He must've known what really happened, but no one believed him."
"So...what really happened to Janjira?" Spider-Man asked Dark.
"It must have something to do with this chrysalis." Dark said, eyeing the big object in the center. "It must be the reason why there's no radiation here, it must have absorbed it."
"But why?" Iron Fist asked her.
"I wish I was wrong, but my guess is that it needs radiation to get ready to hatch."
"Hey, guys, Dr. Serizawa is talking about the disk on Joe's bag." White Tiger said, still listening to the shadow spider. They heard Serizawa saying that he thought all data from the day was lost. But it seems Joe kept backup data in his home.
"There you have it." Dark said to the team. "All the answers we need are from those disks." Dark said to her team as they were about to leave the scene.
"Yeah, but how are we gonna-"
Spider-Man stopped when another pulse shorted the power for a moment, grabbing everyone's attention as all the lights flickered on and off repeatedly. Dark was sensing a strange energy coming from the chrysalis. Something big was coming out, and it ain't gonna be good. While the machine went haywire, Joe Brody was heard through the shadow spider's telepathic link.
"You see? You see?! There it is again. That is not a transformer malfunction. That is an electromagnetic pulse. It affects everything electrical for miles and miles and it is happening again." Joe yells out to them "This is what caused everything in the first place. Don't you see that? And it is gonna send us back to the Stone Age. You have no idea what's coming."
"Did he just say stone age?" Spider-Man asked, almost terrified by this.
"This is getting worse as we thought." Dark said to the group. "Change of plan, we grab those disks and stop this-"
Dark didn't finish her sentence as another flicker of power rocked the plant. The strange chrysalis was pulsing again as it let out another emp. Small fragments of the chrysalis began to fall away to the ground, and the workmen outside standing below it were forced to scatter. It didn't take long for Dark to realize that it was breaking free!
"Shit! We have to move!" Dark yelled to her team.
"Dark, what's happening?!" Spider-Man yells back, backing away from the falling rocks.
"That thing inside the cocoon, it's done." Dark said with wide eyes.
"Done what?!" White Tiger yelped when she dodged another fallen rock.
"It's done feeding the radiation! It's going to hatch!" Dark answered loudly.
The group watched in pure shock as the cocoon was beginning to break, they could hear the creature breaking free. They needed a way to stop this from escaping. Otherwise, this place will suffer the consequences if that thing gets out. They and the other workers attempted to escape, but another pulse happened again, releasing another emp burst, giving them a hard time leaving. Apparently, Serizawa and the others agree to assess the situation, as Gregory Whelan has out the order.
"Secure the grid. Wildfire protocols."
A scientist grabbed a phone and spoke through the loudspeakers. "All personnel, clear the first perimeter immediately!"
Alarms started going off like mad. Men scattered about as they cleared the perimeter around the chrysalis. Lights focused in on the strange chrysalis. A worker pressed a button as the numerous wires and cables were moved into position to try and contain whatever was inside. It was a bit of a slow process, and all the while the monstrous creature continued to pulse. Finally, after a few moments, the cables were in place and the word was given. Dark and her team took cover, hidden in the shadows, watching as a worker pressed a button that secured the grid, preventing any further damages.
"Grid's secure." The scientist said to the head of Monarch.
There was silence throughout the room, with expressions of disappointment, frustration, and fear all around. Serizawa watched the massive object quietly by himself, standing right in front of the glass as he lowered his head slightly. His voice was almost a whisper.
"…Kill it."
There was a momentary pause as the shock of the order set in, but the scientist from before struck a large button sending several million volts of electricity through the massive cocoon. Parts of it were blown off, falling to the ground nearly on top of a few workmen, narrowly avoiding the falling debris from it as they regained distance from it. Serizawa looked away with a pained expression on his face. As a scientist, he did not like the idea of killing such a revolutionary discovery. Whatever was inside could hold answers to questions they'd been pondering for centuries, but now there was nothing they could do. They had to kill it. Whatever was inside that cocoon was dangerous, and they couldn't risk letting it live or worse, escape. He knew that, but it didn't make the decision any easier.
"All readings are flat line," said the scientist who pressed the button.
Gregory Whelan clears his throat, and puts on his glasses. "Get a visual."
They sent some workers to the base of the cocoon. It was still and silent, and the lights all focused on it but it seemed dead. No motions or sounds of movement within were heard either. They watched and approached with great caution. One of the workers approached it, he turned on his flashlight and saw that the sections which had broken away seemed to be covered in some kind of bone-white like slime.
But as he leaned over a bit to get a better view, and shined his light inside one of the openings to the object, something dark with white streaks was moving. It was slimy, disgusting, but it was moving. He thought it was some kind of bubble and got a curious reaction as he leaned in a bit farther to try and see what it was. However, it was the last thing that he ever saw. Without any sort of warning, the slimy object shot forward, breaking out of the massive prison and slamming into the man and his flashlight. He and the others were dead before they could even hit the ground below. That action causes the metal parts and bits of the cocoon to fly everywhere as the sounds of the creature roaring now fill the air.
The creature broke its upper torso free, raising a single long arm with a wicked hook at the end of it up into the air as it glowed red before slamming it down on the ground. The impact released a powerful emp, followed by a shockwave that made everyone fall, and the glowing in its arm went away. All power began to shut down as the visible wave of energy traveled out farther and farther.
"What's happening?!" Spider-Man yelled. He could barely see in the dark.
"What was that thing?!" White Tiger asked loudly, looking around as she tried to see into the darkness.
"I don't know, I couldn't get a look at it!" Dark said to her team.
The wave of energy continued to expand, shutting down everything electric as it went until even the hand held radios, comm, and walkie talkies have been completely shut down. Because of this, the mechanical lock that was holding Joe Brody in suddenly unlocked, and the door opened by itself. Giving him the opportunity to escape as there was no one here, even the guards, for they were busy dealing with a situation outside.
Just then, a strange and guttural sound like nothing they have ever heard before, was suddenly heard. It was a strange clicking sound mixed with a moan-like vocalization. It was primal, eerie, and somewhat frightening. Not helping with the situation at all.
"Get the backup generator online," ordered Gregory Whelan.
The technicians inside flipped all kinds of buttons, switches, and levers until they finally got the backup generator online. But as the power began to slowly come back. The sound of the power coming back on was comforting in its own way, but it also brought a sense of dread and fear.
Soon, when the lights returned, what they saw almost made them lose their minds. Standing on once the cocoon was a giant monster. It has a metallic grayish-black exoskeleton, a flat head and elongated, two red visor-like eyes, jaws filled with dagger-like teeth that are supported by exo-mandibles that form a sort of hooked beak, and possess long and slender hind limbs that are digitigrade in structure, with flat, broad feet ending in two hoof-like toes.
They were in utter shock at the sight, as well as the people here.
The creature roared in fury and shook itself free of the rest of its cocoon, stomping the ground with its arms. All the workers panic, trying to run away from the monster that they saw as it tried to force the remainder of the exterior material off of itself. Meanwhile, Dark and her group stared at the creature with wide eyes. Processing that Monarch wasn't hiding any secret radiation power, they were hiding a monster within the city.
And now, it is awake, ready to wreak havoc.
What do you think? I hope you like it. I'll work on the next chapter soon. I just need some time to think of the next plot.
Also, can somebody list down the Kaiju species of both Monsterverse and Pacific Rim? Along with the Jaegers? And if you have Jaeger ideas, leave it in the comments below.
Thank you so much.
