Chapter Six: Weaves
Feeling the sun hit her face as she sat up. Rubbing her face as she stood up and got changed. Straightening out her dress as she brushed her hair and put it into a simple braid. Stretching her arms above her head before grabbing her bag and heading out of her room. She was humming while making her way down to the dining hall. Seeing her friends there waiting.
"Alessia!" Alice spoke as she basically bounded over to her. Seeing Alice in a new dress. Alessia gasped and smiled. Giving Alice a hug.
"You're an Accepted now!" Alessia spoke as Alice nodded her head. All three of her friends are now Accepteds. She was happy for them!
"Come! Time for breakfast!" Jane spoke as she took the lead inside. Alessia felt a little jealous. She felt like she was being left behind. Still not able to channel. She wasn't mad at her friends. It was not their doing. It was the Wheel's doing. She was trusting in the Light. She grabbed a plate and sat down.
"Alanna Sedai canceled the first class for the Novices. So, you have a break before Lanfear Sedai's class." Jane spoke as Alessia nodded. Eating her eggs and toast. Her bacon was stolen by Tarna. She glared at her friend before smiling softly.
"Well, I will be in my room before the next class." Alessia spoke as she put her dishes up and went back to her room. Setting her bag down as she heard a knock. She opened it to see Jane smiling and letting herself inside.
"Hey. Are you alright?" Jane asked as Alessia nodded her head lightly. "Come on Alessia. I know you better than that." Jane spoke. Alessia sat down and took a deep breath.
"Promise not to judge me?" Alessia asked. Her friend nodded her head. "I think. I might be getting feelings for Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke. Her friend was silent for a moment. Alessia couldn't help but hold her breath at this.
"I figured." Jane spoke as Alessia raised a brow.
"How?" She asked.
"I see the way you look at her." Jane spoke. Alessia blushed and sighed a little. "It's alright. I get to tease you though!" Jane added as Alessia rolled her eyes at this and smiled. "Now, what else is bothering you?" Jane added. She frowned at her friend. She knew her well.
"I feel left behind." Alessia spoke quietly.
"Because you can't channel yet?" Jane asked. Alessia nodded her head. Feeling her friend hug her and smile. "Don't feel like that. You aren't alone. There have been many others before you that have been blocked and I am sure there will be more after you." Jane spoke. Trying to make Alessia feel better.
"That's really encouraging Jane." Alessia spoke while shaking her head and smiled.
"You'll join us soon on missions." Jane added. Alessia then frowned and stood up.
"It's been months! I can't channel!" Alessia spoke with frustration as she was pacing back and forth in her room. "Even if I do channel all of sudden, it might be years before, if I become an Accepted and that is an if." She added.
"Maybe you should ask for help?" Jane spoke.
"No way! She's terrifying!" Alessia spoke while sitting on her bed. She knew who her friend was talking about.
"Lanfear Sedai isn't that bad. Neither is Lillen Sedai. They are teachers after all." Jane spoke. "Even Moiraine Sedai! I know she really wants to help."
"Jane, I don't know. I'm afraid to ask for help. My family has always figured things out for themselves." Alessia frowned. Folding her hands into her lap.
"No, you're just scared to ask because you like Lillen." Jane teased as Alessia whacked her friend with a pillow. She was slightly blushing from this.
"I have no idea what you are talking about!" Alessia shouted while laughing.
"Uh huh sure! Come on. We have a class." Jane spoke as she nodded and followed her friend out of her room. They heard the bell for the next class just in time. Wondering if Jane was going to get into trouble for missing her class. She silently followed her friend down the stairs of the Tower. Entering a room that was half empty. The others didn't seem to care if they entered the room or not. Alessia looked around and saw her other two friends and smiled.
"Alessia. Jane. Over here." Tarna spoke as Alessia sat on the right side of Tarna. Jane however sat on Alessia's right. Alice was in front of them. She would turn in her seat to talk to them.
"Now that everyone is here. Shall we get started?" Lanfear's voice spoke as the girls went silent. Alessia could feel someone watching her. Raising a brow and looking around There was a young man sitting in the back. He was focused. Lillen was sitting next to him. She quickly turned her head back to the front when their eyes almost locked. Alessia was blushing as she felt a nudge from Jane.
"Focus." Jane whispered as Alessia rolled her eyes before she started taking notes.
"How do we greet a Builder?" Lanfear asked in Old Tongue. Alessia raised her hand and Lanfear nodded at her.
"Your welcome warms me." Alessia replied in Old Tongue.
"Your Old Tongue is fluid, how about your weaving?" Lanfear asked as the class laughed. Alessia felt embarrassed and sank into her seat. Her face was red. Lanfear seemed to have taken a liking to teasing Alessia as of late. Watching Lanfear go back to writing on the board. Alessia was taking notes as there was some whispering. Alessia looked up and saw Trina smirking at her. Alessia shook her head and went back to her notes. Making sure she was paying attention. The class drone on today as Alessia covered her mouth to hide a yawn. "This is it for the day. Practice your weaves only under an Accepted or an Aes Sedai." Lanfear reminded them. Alessia was quicker. She dashed out of the room and frowned. Walking towards the kitchens and Jane caught up.
"I would offer to help but it seems nothing I do helps." Jane spoke while frowning.
"Just face it Jane. I'm a lost cause." Alessia spoke. She could feel the eyes on her again as she turned away. Going to do her chores. She arrived right behind Jane who was singing a little. The other girls stopped to look at her before going back to their chores. Alessia felt uneasy now but decided to push it away. Alice and Tarna were on laundry duty today as she was with Jane for the kitchen chores. She started on helping make dinner. Washing and chopping the vegetables. Setting the prepared food into the pot before wiping her hands on her apron.
"Anyone know why she's so weird?" Trina asked. Alessia looked up while listening to the girls gossip.
"I don't know. She's just like that." Jane spoke.
"Who are you talking about?" Alessia asked while helping wash the dishes.
"Lillen Sedai. She has this weird thing about her." Trina spoke. Alessia didn't like how they talked about the Aes Sedai that were teaching them.
"I heard she has brain damage." Trina's friend whispered.
"Enough! You all obviously don't know anything but gossip!" Alessia snapped.
"What's it to you wilder?" Trina asked as Alessia rolled her eyes.
"She's a powerful Aes Sedai. Her and Lanfear both are. You should be thankful they took us in to teach us." Alessia spoke. This had seemed to shut them up. They were red faced at this and muttered under their breaths. "What was that?" Alessia asked as she finished putting the dishes up.
"I said shut up you stupid wilder!" Trina shouted. Something in Alessia snapped. She went after the girl and pushed her. Watching her stagger a little.
"Why you!" Trina shouted again as she weaved. She nearly screamed when she felt the weave hit her square in the chest. Sending Alessia across the hallway out of the kitchen. She felt her body hit the ground and rolled. Feeling her body aching now.
"That was uncalled for!" Jane shouted at Trina. Alessia coughed and stood up. Brushing off her clothes.
"She had it coming! Miss knows it all but can't channel!" Trina shouted back as the other Novices and Accepteds began to laugh. Alessia felt her face flush at this.
"What's going on?" Lanfear asked as she walked up to the kitchen door. Lillen was behind her. Her hands behind her back.
"Alessia attacked me, Lanfear Sedai." Trina quickly spoke and pointed at Alessia. She turned her fists into balls at her side and looked down.
"Is this true?" Lanfear asked while towering over Alessia.
"That's not true! You provoked her!" Jane spoke up.
"Enough! I expected better from you, young women!" Lanfear shouted as they all backed up and nodded. Alessia felt the scruff of her collar grabbed by Lanfear Sedai and pulled away.
They had entered another hallway and Alessia saw Lanfear's office. She was pushed inside. Looking around but decided against it.
"It seems you cannot understand the rules and laws of the Tower. Sit!" Lanfear ordered as Alessia sat down. She was looking at her hands which were folded in her lap. She had never expected Lanfear to be angry with her. In truth, she never wanted to get onto Lanfear's bad side. She had heard stories about angering a sister.
"Now explain yourself." Lanfear spoke.
"The girls were making fun of..." She began and felt her heart racing at this.
"Continue." Lanfear spoke.
"They were gossiping and making fun of Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke. She could feel the dark brown eyes watching her from beside Lanfear. "They also called me a stupid wilder. I guess I just lost control. I am sorry. It will not happen again, Lanfear Sedai." Alessia spoke as she bowed her head.
"Very well. You will not get the switch. Go straight to your room. You are done with chores. Finish your class work for the day. No supper." Lanfear spoke as Alessia stood up. Bowing before taking her leave from the room. She made her way to the other side of the Tower. Entering her room to see Jane in there.
"What happened?" Jane asked as she stood up. Walking up to her.
"She sent me to my room without supper." Alessia spoke.
"You got off easy. Trina got the switch badly. We aren't supposed to use our power against each other." Jane spoke as Alessia nodded. Sitting on her bed. Wondering if Alice and Tarna have heard what happened.
"What is it like?" Alessia asked.
"What is what, like?" Jane asked with a confused look.
"Channeling." Alessia spoke. Knowing she asked before but she had forgotten what her friend had told her before.
"Like part of you. An extension and it feels amazing!" Jane spoke with a smile. Alessia managed a weak one before sighing. There was a light knock on the door. They exchanged looks at each other as Jane went to answer it.
"Lillen Sedai!" Jane spoke with a surprised voice as she bowed. Alessia jumped up as saw Lillen enter her room. She bowed to the woman as well. Wondering why she was in her room.
"Leave us Jane. I have something I want to talk to Alessia about." Lillen spoke.
"Of course." Jane spoke. Giving Alessia a worried look before taking her leave.
"Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke as she watched the woman walk towards her. Alessia backed up a little until she was against the wall. She saw a smirk form on the woman's face as she began to weave. Feeling her heart rate go up again.
"What are you?" She began to ask before feeling a slash of air hit her. Alessia shouted and fell to the ground. Another hit. Lillen Sedai was beating her with the One's Power.
"What are you doing?!" Alessia shouted.
"Helping you get over your block. Now fight back." Lillen spoke so calmly. How could she be so calm? She felt hot this time. Lillen was beating her with air and fire. Alessia could feel the pain from it as she was grunting. Closing her eyes as she inhaled deeply. Feeling anger boiled inside of her as she shouted. Feeling the energy burst from her.
"There she is." Lillen spoke as Alessia opened her eyes. She could feel something swirling around her. She looked down. She had realized what Lillen had done to her.
"I can channel!" Alessia gasped as she jumped up from her knees. Looking at Lillen who was staring at her. There was pride in the woman's face. "I..Thank you Lillen Sedai!" Alessia spoke as she bowed to the woman. "I am in your debt." She added.
"No. It was merely my job to help you. In time, you will take the test and rise to Accepted. Then your real training begins." Lillen spoke. Alessia couldn't help but stare in awe at the woman. She had tunnel vision as all she could see was Lillen in front of her. She couldn't see anything else. "You're staring." Lillen spoke as Alessia turned to look away as she was blushing.
"Sorry." She spoke as she saw Lillen take her leave from the room. Once Lillen was gone, Alessia began to channel. Seeing how it came to her easily now. She laughed lightly as she wanted to cry. She could finally do it! Setting the candle aflame and nearly jumped with glee. She couldn't wait to tell Jane in the morning! She changed her clothes and went to bed.
She barely slept when she was already up for the new day. It was the weekend. She changed and dashed out of her room. Hopping on one foot as she was putting on her boots. Smiling non stop as she dashed out of the Novice quarters and into the Accepteds. Knocking on Jane's door. Waited for a minute.
"Maybe already at breakfast?" She thought while dashing down the hallway again. Trying to finger brush her hair as she stopped and saw them.
"Hey! We saved you a plate!" Alice spoke as Alessia walked over and sat down smiling.
"Did something happen?" Jane asked as Alessia nodded her head. "Hmm." Jane then added. Alessia quickly ate her breakfast. Not even taking a breath as she ate. She was too excited to be wasting any time. She put her dishes up and patted the table in excitement. She didn't want to waste any time.
"By the Light Alessia! Calm down!" Tarna spoke while laughing. Alessia patted the table again to tell her friends to hurry up.
"We are eating as fast as we can!" Jane spoke lightly. Alessia nodded her head and was tapping her foot lightly.
"Come on guys. Alessia is getting impatient." Tarna spoke as Alessia smiled and nodded her head. Watching her friends finish their breakfast as she led the way out to the gardens.
"Guess what!" Alessia asked while almost bouncing now.
"What?" Jane asked with a smile. Alessia took a deep breath and began to channel. Creating the ball of light in her palm. Hearing gasps and a scream from Alice. Alessia jumped as she was attacked into a hug by her friends.
"You can channel!" Tarna shouted. Alessia was smiling non stop.
"I heard a scream. Is everyone alright?" Alanna's voice came as they all bowed to the woman. Moiraine was standing next to her as well.
"Alessia can channel now!" Alice wasted in no time in explaining.
"Really? Let's see." Alanna asked as Alessia nodded. She channeled the ball of light again. "Well look at that!" Alanna spoke as she clapped her hands once and hugged Alessia.
"Op!" Alessia spoke as she laughed lightly.
"Let's get you caught up one weaving after lunch?" Alanna asked as Alessia nodded her head. She really needed to. Not being an Accepted, she couldn't do weaves on her own. Watching Alanna take her leave as she felt Moiraine touch her shoulder.
"Come with me for a moment." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head. She waved at her friends for the moment and followed the woman in blue. They turned a corner as Alessia nearly jumped backwards as she felt both of her cheeks cupped.
"How do you feel?" Moiraine asked.
"I feel amazing! Happy! I can finally do it!" Alessia replied with a smile.
"How did it happen?" Moiraine asked. Alessia didn't want to name anyone.
"Last night after dinner." Alessia spoke with a smile. Moiraine was studying her.
"It just came?" Moiraine asked. Alessia nodded her head. She lied. She knew Lillen would probably get into trouble, so she didn't name her. "I see. I am happy to hear this! Now, your training begins. Let's get you caught up. For now, enjoy the day with your friends." Moiraine spoke. Pulling Alessia into a hug. Mumbling lightly as she patted Moiraine's shoulder. She could inhale Moiraine's scent and it made her head spin a little. She nodded and took her leave. She saw Jane was sitting by herself on the bench as Alessia went and sat next to her.
"So, how did it go with Moiraine Sedai?" Jane asked.
"She wanted to know how it happened." Alessia replied.
"How did it happen?" Jane then asked.
"You can't tell anyone. I didn't even tell Moiraine Sedai the truth." Alessia spoke. Seeing her friend nod her head. She then looked around to make sure they were alone.
"Lillen Sedai whipped me with the One Power after you left." Alessia whispered. Seeing Jane go from a serious face to a smirk. Alessia then blushed and face palmed. Realizing what she said.
"You got whipped by Lillen Sedai?" Jane asked as Alessia nodded her head as her face was in her hands. Then out of nowhere, Jane roared with laughter. She fell over backwards while holding her stomach from laughing.
"Jane! Shut up!" Alessia spoke as she looked at her friend who was still laughing.
It had been a few hours now since she was outside with Jane. Practicing weaves under her friend's supervision. She was able to create the weaves easily.
"Weird." Jane spoke as Alessia raised a brow at her friend.
"What is?" Alessia asked.
"Some of those weaves are harder to do than others and yet, you're doing them with ease." Jane spoke. Alessia was confused.
"I thought weaves were easier to do once you could weave?" Alessia asked. Jane shook her head.
"No, some are harder to do. Try this one. Two elements at once." Jane grabbed Alessia's arm as she dragged her to the kitchen. Pulling out two cups. One had dirty water in it and the other was empty. "Hello Lillen Sedai." Jane spoke as Alessia turned around and bowed.
"Continue." Lillen spoke as Alessia turned back to her friend.
"Okay. You have to weave two elements together with this one. Earth with your right and water with your left." Jane spoke as she showed Alessia the weave. "Once you grab both elements, weave them together. Once you are happy with the weave, pour the dirty water through to make it clear." Jane explained. Alessia nodded. Seeing the glasses pushed towards her. Alessia began to channel. Feeling Lillen move her elbow up a bit more, she blushed at the touch, as she felt the earth through her right hand. Pulling the moisture from the air. She moved her hands close together and weaved. Seeing the colors mixed as she poured the water through it. Her eyes went wide as the water came clear. She smiled at her success.
"How?" Jane asked. Alessia dropped the weave.
"I studied the weaves closely and wrote essays on them since Alanna Sedai said I couldn't weave, write about the weave she taught." Alessia explained.
"I see. Just going to have to go harder on you." Jane smiled and crossed her arms.
"Hmm." Was all Lillen said as they looked at her. Alessia couldn't help but smile at the older woman before watching her take her leave. Alessia felt a nudge on her shoulder and she jumped. Coming back to reality.
"Let's go get some lunch!" Jane spoke as Alessia nodded her head. Linking her arms with Jane as they ran into Tarna and Alice on the way.
"Hey you two!" Jane spoke as they looked up and smiled.
"How did it go?" Alice asked as Alessia sat down. Taking an apple from Tarna's plate and began to eat it.
"She recreated most of the weaves I taught her correctly the first time." Jane spoke with a smile.
"That's amazing!" Alice spoke while eating her sandwich.
"I agree. Maybe you'll be an Accepted before you know it." Tarna spoke. Alessia shook her head. She still had years to go. To learn everything. Her friends had years on her and they were able to weave when they arrived.
"I have a lot of catching up to do." Alessia spoke. "Since I can't weave by myself." Alessia spoke as she sighed a little.
"Hey, you have three friends who are Accepted. We'll help you." Jane spoke. Alessia smiled at this and nodded her head.
"That is true. I can't wait to catch up." Alessia spoke. She had finally gotten a plate of food while sitting back down to eat. She was eating her food a bit slower. She was smiling while listening to her friends' stories while they were out on tasks.
"I can't wait to go on one." Alice spoke. Alessia nodded her head in agreement. She hated that she hadn't gone on one yet. She needed to become an Accepted. So, she needed to study even harder. Hearing a few of the other Novices and Accepteds all make a dreamy face and sigh with smiles. Alessia looked behind her and sure enough, Alanna and Moiraine both walked into the dining hall. Alessia turned back around to finish eating her food.
"See you three later!" She whispered. She grabbed her friends' plates, waved at them as they waved back and took the dishes to the kitchen. It was her chore today. Setting them in the washing sink as she began. Hearing footsteps as she turned to see Trina crossing her arms while looking at her.
"Looks like you can finally channel." Trina spoke. Alessia nodded her head lightly. Watching her begin to channel.
"Everything alright here?" Alanna's voice came. Alessia sighed in relief as she turned to finish the dishes rather quickly.
"Alessia." Alanna spoke as she turned back around. "Come." She added. She nodded and dried her hands and followed quickly.
"Daughter Jane told me that you were able to copy the weaves the first time?" Alanna asked as she followed Alanna down the hallway. Moiraine close by.
"Well. You did have me study the weaves through the essays." Alessia spoke in reply. She followed Alanna into an empty room. Moiraine closed the door. Seeing Alanna began to weave. Seeing the woman nod at her. Alessia followed suit. Creating the weave as well. She then realized that Alanna was showing the weaves she was taught when she first arrived. Feeling Moiraine correct her arm movements on a couple of them. Her touch was gentle. Alessia smiled as she let the weaves drop.
"Not bad!" Alanna spoke with a smile. Alessia returned the smile with a bow.
"I do have amazing teachers." Alessia spoke.
"You're too kind, dear." Alanna spoke as she patted Alessia's cheek.
"I would like to teach you some weaves as well." Moiraine spoke with a smile. Alessia gasped and nodded.
"I would love to learn more weaves." Alessia spoke with a smile. Hearing the door open as they looked.
"Daughter Alessia. Come with me." Lanfear spoke. Lillen was standing behind her. Alessia nodded as she followed Lanfear out of the room. "Sister Lillen told me you can channel now?" Lanfear asked.
"Yes, Lanfear Sedai." Alessia spoke with a smile.
"Why didn't you come find me when it happened?" Lanfear asked as Alessia was watching where she was going. Turning another hallway as they made their way towards the entrance of the Tower.
"It happened last night before bed. I didn't think to tell you, Lanfear Sedai." Alessia spoke truthfully.
"No worries. Come along." Lanfear spoke as she led the way out.
Feeling the wind against her as she inhaled the fresh air. Not like she doesn't get enough of it. Seeing Lanfear stop as did she.
"You remember the weave?" Lanfear asked as Alessia raised a brow. "The weave of air." Lanfear spoke as she recreated the well.
"Oh! Yes!" Alessia spoke as she closed her eyes and inhaled. Opening her eyes as she began to weave the air.
"Don't hold back." Lanfear spoke. She nodded her head and released the weave. Pushing with all she had. Creating a last blast of wind from her center. Feeling the ground go down a little under her feet. Seeing she created a very small crater under her. Looking around to see Lanfear and Lillen standing back up.
"I'm so sorry!" Alessia shouted as she ran over to offer her hand as Lanfear took it and smiled. Alessia walked over and offered her hand to Lillen as well. Feeling the shock again as she jumped back again when their hands touched. Their eyes locked as Alessia blushed and looked away quickly. Her attention back onto Lanfear.
"It has been so long since that happened. Good thing we were not in the Tower." Lanfear spoke while brushing herself off.
"What do you mean?" Alessia asked.
"Your strength is high." Lanfear spoke. Alessia didn't know if she should feel proud or not. She was in thought. Feeling her shoulder touched as she jumped. Lillen was guiding her back towards the Tower. Seeing Lanfear had taken her leave once they arrived back. Alessia was still in thought.
"Your strength is high. Much stronger than your friends." Lillen spoke as Alessia nodded her head lightly.
"Is that why I can create the weaves easily?" Alessia asked.
"No. It takes practice. Even with the strongest of us." Lillen spoke. "There will be weaves that even you cannot get the first time." The older woman spoke. Alessia nodded her head. She still had ways to go. She knew this.
"You still have much to learn." Lillen then added.
"I will study hard, Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke with a smile.
"Thank you for the spider as well." Lillen then added. Alessia smiled and looked at her.
"I'm glad. Thank you again. For what you did." Alessia added. Lillen nodded her head. Her hands behind her back as she was watching something else. Alessia smiled and decided to be brave and gently poked Lillen on her shoulder. Seeing the older woman instantly react by quickly looking at her. Alessia only smiled at her while slowly backing up with her hands behind her back.
"See you around, Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke as she took her leave. Leaving to find her friends.
She found them outside as the sun was setting.
"Hey." Alessia spoke as they looked up. Alice waved at her from the ground. Alessia sat down next to her and smiled.
"So, what did they want?" Jane asked.
"Well, Alanna was reteaching me the weaves. It was fun. Moiraine said she wanted to teach me more." Alessia spoke.
"Uh huh." Tarna spoke as Alessia rolled her eyes at this and smiled.
"Lanfear Sedai came and got me after that lesson with Lillen Sedai." Alessia then spoke. She wasn't sure what it meant exactly. Maybe she would ask Alanna later.
"Mhm." Jane spoke as she crossed her arms. Alessia shook her head and continued. "We did the strength test." Alessia spoke.
"How was it?" Alice asked this time.
"I knocked them off their feet. Literally." Alessia spoke. Hearing soft gasps. "What?" She asked while looking at her friends.
"So, that's what that strong wind was not too long ago!" Alice piped up. Alessia raised a brow at her friend.
"The stronger the blast tells them how strong you are. Not many create a wave of air that travels far." Jane explained.
"Maybe I just got lucky?" Alessia asked. She shrugged her shoulders at this.
"Maybe. I doubt it." Tarna spoke as she closed the book she was reading. "Hey, let's go eat dinner. I'm starving." Tarna added. Alessia chuckled at this and nodded her head. She stood up and only to be pulled back behind as Jane and Tarna went on ahead.
"Can I talk to you about something?" Alice asked as Alessia nodded her head. "It's about Alanna Sedai." Alice added.
"Is everything alright?" Alessia asked. Alice nodded her head.
"Yes. It's just. I don't know." Alice frowned. She could feel her friend was unsure about something.
"You can tell me, you know." Alessia spoke. Trying to comfort her friend incase she needed it.
"She wants to take me under her wing." Alice spoke. Alessia's eyes went wide as she gasped a little.
"Well, do you want to be?" Alessia then asked. Alice shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know. She has two warders." Alice spoke.
"How does it make you feel?" She asked as they started making their way to the dining hall.
"Well, we all sat down and talked about it. I do like them as well. They are kind and caring towards me. They told me that they want me to be comfortable ." Alice added.
"That's a good thing. Taking your comfort into consideration." Alessia spoke with a smile. Alice then smiled weakly at this and nodded.
"I think I want to do it. I really like Alanna Sedai and her warders. They make me feel..well…loved." Alice spoke as she was blushing. Alessia chuckled and rubbed her friend's shoulder.
"I support whatever choice you make." Alessia spoke. This earned her a hug from her friend as they sat down at their usual table. Alessia was then silent while eating her dinner. Her friends were talking about the advanced weaves they were learning. Once finished, Alessia took her leave. After giving her friends hugs goodnight as she was humming again. She had a smile on her face as she came upon her room. She closed the door as she changed into her gown. Seeing her book had pages out from it. Her drawings were spread out across the table. She gathered them and put them back into the book. Looking around as she saw a jaw on her desk.
She walked over to the jar and smiled. There wasn't much in the jar for the spider to hide from her. There was a small black spider inside. A note on the jar.
Study up. Was all it said. She knew exactly who it was from. She was now wondering if Lillen was wanting to teach her more about spiders. She blushed a little at this. She had come to know that Lillen loved spiders as did she. Maybe this was something they could connect from. Knowing she wasn't allowed pets, she would study this spider and return it to Lillen in the morning. She sat down with the jar in her hands. The jar wasn't very big and it was clear. Holding it up close while taking in every detail of the spider. She jumped a little as the spider jumped. Seeing the spider move rather quickly in the jar."You are a fast little one!" Alessia spoke. She opened the jar and smiled. Letting the tiny spider jump onto her hand before quickly moving about the palm of her hand. It then took a leap of faith. Alessia gasped in horror as she pushed herself out of the chair to catch the spider. Sighing in relief when she caught it."Back into the jar with you!" She spoke. Smiling as she placed it back inside carefully. Setting the jar back on the table as she began to draw it into her book before flipping through the library book. These spiders were known to be jumping spiders. Friendly as well. They did not bite. Not knowing the candle was burning low while she was nose deep in the book. She yawned lightly and laid her head on the table. Falling asleep over the books as the pen fell from her hand.
