Our Time

Chapter 9

Sometime Later

The Davis home

"What's the snack today B?" Brooke asked.

As her and Blaine came through the door.

Blaine put down his backpack and took off his shoes.

"Cheese and crackers please momma."

"So i want to talk to you about you're dad. I know you've been wanting to spend time with him and for a number of weeks he's been keeping his distance."

"He's come to me and said he's ready and wanting to spend time with you now." Brooke explained.

"I don't want too. I would rather stay here. With Sam or go over to grandma Victoria and Grandpa Ted's." Blaine replied.

Brooke was taken aback by this reaction. And wasn't sure how to respond.

"I'll have my snack in my room." Blaine added in.

Brooke sighed deeply.

"I've got homework to do and we had to meet with some career counselour today. And took a job assesment test."

"I'm 15. But i have my future already planned."

"Work when i need money. And see the world." Sam replied.

"I think you are capable of alot more then that." Brooke replied.

"Like what college? That's a fantasy." Sam added in.

"I've seen you're grades. And i've talked to you're teachers."

"You have alot going for you. What's missing is believe in yourself and seeing a future with all the doors open because they are."

"How about i make you a deal. You apply yourself and spend these next couple of years thinking about where you see yourself going after graduation and i'll help you out in any way i can." Brooke proclaimed.

"Deal." Sam said.

"I see you're wearing Quentin's letterman jacket." Brooke said.

"Yeah he's great. We aren't a couple or anything." Sam replied.

"I think its obvious the two of you like each other."

"Maybe you should see where it goes. My advice."

"I have a snack to make." Brooke said. As she made her way to the kitchen.

...

"This is the room i was thinking for the baby." Julian said.

Peyton looked up distracted.

"I think we should hold off on making plans until we know more." Peyton replied.

...

"What do you mean Blaine doesn't want to see me?" Lucas questioned. Looking to Brooke.

Brooke lingered in the entryway of his home.

"I told him that you wanted to see him and he declined the offer. He's at home with Sam now."

"I think he thinks and feels like you keeping you're distance is because of him. He won't say that but he's hurt and feels like you don't want him around." Brooke explained.

The expression on Lucas's face softened. He felt sick. "That isn't true. Blaine is the brightest part of my life." He replied.

"He's a kid. He sees life and the people in his life on the surface with their actions leading the way. Words only go so far." Brooke replied.

"Like his mom." Lucas said.
