Our heroes continued their way through Viridian Forest. As they did, Ash was now teaching Serena and the young dinosaurs how to use Aura Sphear.

"Now remember, Aura Sphear is the easiest move to master."

He was right as Aura Sphear was indeed easy to master. Like Ash and Serena, Ducky and Petrie and Chomper and Ruby managed to create a sphear from the hands. While Cera used her horn to make a sphear as Littlefoot and Spike were spinning their tails in a circle to create their sphears.

"Ready. Aim. And FIRE!"

All of them fired their sphears at a huge rock and BOOM! It smashed to bit.

However, Cera had missed it and made her sphear fly onto something else.

"Not bad Cera. But you need to work on your aiming."

"But I was aiming at it."

"Don't get too confident Cera. If you wanna master your Aura, you need to focus."

As much as Cera hates to admit it, she knew Ash had a point and he and Misty and Serena had been telling them everything they knew about the world of Pokemon.

"Hey don't feel bad." Said Serena. "My mentor told me that as well."

"Mentor?" Ash asked. "You mean, you already had training going on?"

"Uh...yeah. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner Ash. I didn't know if it would be a good idea for you to know."

"Hey it's fine." Ash said smiling. "Mom and Dad told me I could be getting into trouble if anyone else found out about my powers. Especially sense guardions are mainly common in Rota right now. By the way, who's your mentor?"

"His name is Riley. Here's his picture." Serena said as she showed Ash the picture of her mentor. "He was trivaling Kalos and he was in Vaniville Town one day. Mom had me riding on Rhyhorn for practice on Rhyhorn racing again that time. Until I flew off and before I knew it, a blue barrior came and broke my fall and Riley was there when it happened. He asked if I was alright and when I said and asked where that barrior came from, he said I crated it with my Aura and told me what it was. And sense then, I was spending my early mornings training to control my Aura instead of Rhyhorn racing practice. And I promised Riley I wouldn't tell anyone about my powers sense...you know."

"Uh...Serena." Ash said to her. "Your mentor is my uncle."

"WHAT?!"

"He was still in training the day I unlocked my powers. But seeing him as your mentor is a surprise to me. Especially sense he told me that he became a true guardion after summer camp."

"At least your uncle turned out a lot better than somebodies!" Cera said as she looked over at Petrie.

"No go there." He said to her.

"But it's true. Isn't it Littlefoot?"

"Right." Littlefoot said as he turned around.

But as he did, he found himself face to face with a sword which made him yelp and jump back. It was a good thing Ash told them about what swords were or he would have been in trouble.

The sword was being hold by a boy in a samurai armor. Who Cera charged at and knocked him down on the ground with her foot on his head.

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! AND WHY ARE YOU CARRYING A DANGEROUS WEAPON WITH YOU?!"

"Y-Y-You misunderstand young dinosaur!" The boy said in fear. "My name is Samurai and I only wish to challenge the trainer form Pallet Town to a Pokemon Battle!"

"Then next time don't point a sword at anyone just so you can battle them." Said Misty.

"Oh yes yes yes." Said Ducky. "You have startle-ed me. You have. You have."

"My too." Said Fang as Mina nodded agreeing with him.

"Unless it's a wooden sword." Said Ash. "And I accept your challenge."

Cera didn't need to be told to get off of Samurai because she did. And when she did, Ash and Samurai moved away from the others and far back enough to battle.

"Pinsir! Initiate battle formation!"

With a toss of the ball, the said Pokemon had emerged.

"What is that thing?!" Serena shouted as she pulled out her Rotom Phone.

"Pinsir. The Stag Beetle Pokemon. A bug type. This Pokemon clamps its pincers down on its pray and then either splits them in hath or flings them away."

The split in hath part was what scared Serena and the young dinosaurs even more.

"Froakie! I choose you!" Ash shouted as Froakie hopped off of his head.

"Pinsir use Bug Bite!"

"Dodge it!"

Before Pinsir could bite Froakie, the blue frog jumped away in time.

"Now use Water Pulse!"

Before Samurai could tell Pinsir to dodge, Froakie had fired the Water Pulse and it hit Pinsir on his back and knocked him backwards.

"Use Vice Grip!"

"Dodge quick!"

Unfortunately, Forakie was too slow this time as Pinsir had grabbed him with his pincers. Until,

"I got it! Lick him!"

Forakie licked Pinsir and because it was a Ghost type move, it hurt him as he let Froakie go.

"Pinsir use X-Scissor!"

Unfortunately, the Lick had managed to paralyze Pinsir. He couldn't move.

"Time to finish this Froakie! Use Smack Down!"

Froakie had tossed a rock into the air and it hit Pinsir. It was Super Efective because bug types were weak against rock type moves. Pinsir was knocked out.

"Pinsir return!" Samurai said as he recalled Pinsir and pulled out another PokeBall. "Go Metapod!"

A Metapod had emerged.

"Use Harden!"

All Metapod can use was Harden which can only raise its defense up. But Ash knew what to do.

"Froakie, Pound Metapod onto that rock!"

Froakie got up and ran to Metapod's side and pounded him onto the rock on his left. And that knocked out Metapod with just one hit.

Samurai's eyes had widened. He lost the battle.

"Tell me." Said Ash. "How long have you had that Metapod?"

"I only recently captured it."

"Exactly. Wild Metapod can quickly forget the moves they learned as Caterpie as they only relay on Harden because of the lack of movement. The only way they won't forget the moves they learned as a Caterpie is if they evolve with a trainer."

"Whoa. For a nalvist trainer, you're really smart."

"I'm not one to brag about it. But I've been studying sense I was five years old."

"Your Pokemon couldn't even beat a rookie trainer? How pedfedic." Said a new voice.

All of them turned to see who it was. It was a young man with purple hair as he stood there with his arms crossed.

"How long were you standing there?" Chomper asked.

"Long enough to witness this battle. At least you're raising your Pokemon to get stronger."

"I only managed because of the friendship between me and Froakie." Said Ash.

"What are you saying? That rubbish only makes Pokemon weak and spoiled."

"Who do you think you are?!" Misty shouted.

The young man humped. "My name is Paul. I'm from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh Region. And I'm going to become the strongest Pokemon Trainer in the world."

"Oh yeah?! If you think you're strong how about we have a battle here and now?!"

"Very well."

"Pikachu! I choose you!" Ash said as Pikachu hopped off of him.

"Let's do this."

"Go Turtwig!"

By then, the said Pokemon had emerged from Paul's PokeBall.

"So that's one of the Sinnoh Region starter Pokemon." Ash said as he pulled out his Rotom Phone.

"Turtwig. The Tiny Leaf Pokemon. A grass type. The shell on its back is made of soil. On a very healthy Turtwig, the shell should feel moist."

"Okay Pikachu. Use,"

Before Ash could tell him what move to use, a robotic arm swooped in and grabbed Pikachu and Froakie.

"Pikachu! Froakie!"

Then came laughing.

"Wait." Said Littlefoot. "That laugh sounds like,"

And then,

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

And then came a sertent pare of Egg-stealers.

"To protect the world from devistation!"

"To unight all dinosaurs within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love."

"To extend our reach to the stars above."

"Ozzy."

"Strut."

"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight."

"Meowth! That's right!" Came a sertent Meowth.

"You guys again?!" Cera shouted. "And where,"

"Up here Dino Twerpette."

Cera looked up and saw Jessie and James in their Meowth hot air balloon and attached to it was the robotic arm gripping Pikachu and Froakie.

"What are you doing here?!" Ash shouted. "Give back Pikachu and Froakie so we can have our battle!"

"Too bad Twerp." Said Jessie. "They're coming with us now and we're going to give them to our boss."

"No! I refuse to work for Team Rocket!" Froakie shouted.

"So how did we do with the motto?" Strut asked.

"No time." Said James. "We need to get back to headquarters."

"I don't think so! Fennekin! Sylveon! Use,"

"Serena no!" Ash shouted. "You could hurt Pikachu and Froakie!"

Jessie and James laughed.

"You can't even attack us." James mocked.

"I have my own ways of course." Ash said smirking as he held out his arm.

"Try all you want." Jessie moked as well. "You can't reach us up here."

But then, a blue glow was seen on the arm as Pikachu and Froakie were freed and floated down safely.

"What the...what was that?!" Jessie shouted.

"Aura isn't just about attacks." Said Ash. "There are many things that aura is capable for doing like manipulating that robotic arm to let go of my Pokemon and gently lower them to the ground."

"Meowth you ideat!" Jessie shouted. "This was supposed to be Aura proof!"

"I couldn't afford the aura proof." Said Meowth. "The boss docked our payment because of our failure back at the Pokemon Center."

"You mean we've lost a whole weeks payment?!" James shouted as he looked in their food bag. "And we're low on food too."

"Then we'll just steal food." Said Ozzy. "Like my favorite. Eggs."

"We'll see about that." Said Ash. "Pikachu! Froakie! Use Thunderbolt and Water Gun!"

Both Pokemon fired their attacks on the ground below the Egg-stealers and sent them flying up to the balloon as Jessie and James caught them.

"Fine! You've won this round twerps!" Jessie shouted. "But we'll be back."

And then, they left.

"Ideats." Said Mew.

"Hump."

"What's up with you?" Strongtooth asked as everyone turned to Paul.

"This isn't worth my time." He said.

Serena was about to say something. But Paul just walked away.

Ash sighed.

"What is up with that guy?" Littlefoot asked.

"It's obvious who the real trainers are." Said Samurai. "And that guy is no where near one of them."

"Tell me about it." Said Misty.

"If you follow this path, it'll take you to Pewter City a lot quicker."

"Right." Said Ash.

"Let us battle again someday. For now, farewell."

With that said, Samurai had left. And as soon as he did, our heroes continued on their path to Pewter City for Ash's first gym battle. As the journey continues.

To be continued

Authors note:

Sorry for the long wait. This chapter was too hard to plan out. But here it is. So what do you think about having Paul show up a lot early? And it was hard for me to come up with the back story on her Serena learned about her powers in the past. And with Riley being her mentor who happens to be Ash's uncle. Yeah this was way too hard to plan out.

And yeah. Strut and Ozzy are with Team Rocket as you've just seen.
