Chapter 48: Tell you something.
As the Bullhead flew away in the distance the man just sat down and began to think of what the boy said to him.
"There is no way... Damn it!" He curses out loud getting the attention of the girl with mixed colored hair. Soon the girl sits next to him and begins to sigh at him asking 'what was wrong?'
"I was right, Neo. My past has come to haunt me." This earned a confused tilt from the girl. As she asked him to explain.
"The one person I wished to never see again. Has a fucking kid... Just to add salt in the wound huh... Typical windy." The man reaches inside his jacket and pulls out a cigar lighting it up. Looking at the girl he begins to think of a plan.
"Neo, I'm going to need a big favor from you." This gets the attention of the girl as she nods at him. "Next time you see that kid..."
Neo's eyes widen by his words.
"What does she mean, 'Your mom knows Torchwick'?" Blake asked.
"I... Well..." I was going to answer but they just continued to throw questions my way.
"Seth is that true?" Now Ruby asked.
"Well, you see."
"Why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Yang also asked, but I was beginning to feel pressure.
"Guys..."
"Why were you keeping this information from us?"
"Guys." I try to explain to them, but they still continue to throw out questions at me. The number of questions they were throwing at me was now getting a little too personal, and I was beginning to get uncomfortable with them.
"So what do you have to say for yourself?" Weiss finishes off by standing next to Blake who was looking at me with inpatients. Behind them, Ruby and Yang were standing next to each other waiting for an answer as well.
...
...
...
I took a deep breath while closing my eyes, as I began to think on how to deal with this situation right now. With my options being limited, I did the only thing that felt right to do. I turned around and began to walk away from them.
"Hey!" "Where are you going?" "Seth!"
"First of all, we need to get out of here before the cops decide to search the area. Second of all, I'm going back to Beacon, I'm too tired for this shit right now." I tell them as I begin to walk away and leave the area. Any minute now this place will be surrounded by cops, so we rather not be here when that happens. As I jumped over a barricade, I was met with someone else also jumping next to me and landing in front of me. Looking at the person I knew she wanted answers.
"Not yet, you need to answer these questions. And now." Blake looked at me as she drew her weapon at me.
"Blake!" From behind I heard Ruby and Yang yell out her name. Focusing my attention on Blake, I see her getting more impatient than before.
"Sigh... We can talk about this later. Right now, I am not in the mood to disc-"
"No, we are talking about this now!" Blake said as she got close to me. "Tell me everything you know about Roman and his pl-."
"I don't know shit about him!" I told Blake, now getting impatient with her. "I had no idea who he was before or what he's done so far! So stop asking what I know, because I don't know jack shit! The only person who knew him was my Mom, but that was years ago. So stop."
"Then ask her what she knows about him." The way it sounded; it was more like a demand than a request.
"I'm not asking her that."
"Why not!"
"Because that's her past and I'm not about to ask about it."
"Seth this is important. The White Fang are planning something with him, and this could be-" I quickly cut her off.
"Oh, here we go again with the White Fang!" I said now fully annoyed at this point.
"Excuse me!"
"Blake, you said it before, 'you are not a member anymore.' So quit being involved with them and drop it."
"Why would I drop this? This is important to me, it's important to everyone. We are trying to help as best that we can!" I just looked at her and the rest of the team, shocked by what she said. By the looks of it they all agree with her on this, but what I was not getting was that they all looked so proud of what they accomplished here.
"Really? The best that you can? Cause the way I see it, we all did the stupidest and dumbest thing here!" They all looked at me shocked and confused by what I was saying.
"What are you talking about? We stopped the Paladin that the White Fang was controlling."
"At the cost of putting people in danger and causing way more damage than that thing did. Just look behind you guys and tell me you all did an amazing job here." They all turn to the scene at hand and to their surprise they are all quiet.
Now we couldn't see what was up above but by the indication of the smoke, the sounds of sirens, and the mixture of people screaming we could all tell that we did more harm than good.
"Honestly who's idea was it to run at a highway with people on it?!" Now my voice was high as I began to yell at them.
"We were being chased by that thing! What would you have done then!" Now Blake was raising her voice at me trying to defend her actions.
"Not run into a fucking HIGHWAY! You Dumb Mother F-"
"Okay, you two STOP!" We both turn to Ruby who is the one that stops us from continuing. Looking at her we can see that she looked embarrassed for raising her voice but kept a stoic look at both of us. She quickly walked to us getting in between the both of us. "Look I know we might not have done the best job here. But we were able to stop the paladin from causing any more serious damage in the future. So that counts for something right?"
"Ruby is right, who knows what the White Fang could have done in the future with that thing? For now, it's destroyed, and we won't have to worry about it." Now Yang began to back her sister up also getting in between Both Me and Blake.
I shake my head at them. "That's not the point guys. It doesn't matter about 'later'. What matters is right now. People are hurt up there. Cause of the actions of -" Before I can continue the sounds of choppers and sirens began to grow closer to us. Looking up I could see a few choppers either from the police or the news were about to head our way. "Run. We can't be seen here."
"What, Why? I believe we should at least inform them what had happened here."
"No, he's right. We need to leave or else we could get in more trouble here." Blake informed Weiss as she also began to move. "This talk isn't over." She looked at me once more as we began to move. Soon the rest of the team followed us towards more into Vale trying to avoid getting spotted.
Turning to face the others I saw that we were already missing one person. "Where's Yang?"
"She went to get her Bike and said she will catch up with us soon." Nodding at that we continue to walk in the night streets of Vale trying to make our way towards the airship to get home. The streets were now filled with people all looking in the direction of the highway. We could hear them talking among each other trying to figure out what had happened in that general direction.
"Why exactly did we run away from the police? I'm sure if we explain ourselves, they will surely understand our situation." Weiss said to us as we turned a corner into an alleyway getting away from the group of people.
"Yeah, that a group of 'train- huntsman and huntresses' were running away from a giant paladin that was running ramping' through the streets of Vale, that cause huge damages on a busy highway... Yep, they will clearly listen to us there."
"It was only a suggestion. It's clearly better than to leave the scene. This makes us look like we are criminals."
"At this point, we might as well be."
"But we stopped it." Stopping at my tracks I turn to them.
"Okay, let's think about if you didn't. You all would have still continued to run through the highway flipping cars around, jumping, and avoiding its attacks. While the people around you were still getting hurt. Then what? Try to outrun it until what? All of Vale goes into a panic and at that point, the real huntsman comes and saves you from it. What about the people back there? Still trapped in their cars upside down waiting for someone to save them? Do you know how many people I had to save back there? Twelve! I also had to deal with the short girl as well! Let's not forget her in all of this, who by the way was toying with me the whole time we were fighting."
"She was causing you problems?"
"Yeah... Don't know what it was, but I just know she could have hurt me even more than she let on." I don't know what it was, but I just felt like she could have ended me sooner rather than later. But at least I know she is someone not to mess with next time I see her. "Be careful around her."
"Oh please, I'm sure the four of us can deal with someone like her with ease." Weiss said to me with some pride in her tone.
You know what, I want to see them actually fight her now. This could be way more funnier than it should be.
"Back to the matter on hand here." Now Blake began and I just knew what she wanted.
"Nope." I tell her as I continue to walk.
"Seth!" "Drop it Blake." "I won't." "Then I won't talk." "This is important!" " Literally give zero F's!"
"Sigh... If those two are going to argue the whole way back, I'd rather go my own way back to Beacon." Weiss informed Ruby as she saw the two of them continue to complain some more. However, Ruby quickly looked at Weiss and gave her a deadpan expression making Weiss look at her confused, "What?" Weiss asked.
"Nothing!" She said while looking back at the other two.
"Oh, Look! A vending machine! And there's one fuck left!" She saw Seth point at a vending machine while Blake continued to press him for info.
"Do you think he has a point?" Weiss quickly turned to Ruby and saw that she was looking at the ground, mostly wondering if they did the right thing back there.
"No Ruby, he doesn't. We did what felt right to do here and we stopped it." Weiss assured Ruby but that quickly changes by what Seth said next.
"You know, to make matters worse. Guess who they are going to blame this time for the mess." They turn to Seth, who Blake was sending daggers at him. "The White Fang."
"How?"
"Well, I'm not a betting person. But didn't that thing back there have their logo on the paladin? So put two and two together. Also, the fact that we left the remaining pieces back there for the cops to find. And well you have a bad case of 'who to blame later.' So like I said, why bring it here."
"And what would you have done then?"
I shrug at them. "Take the fight to the docks and find a way to push it into the water. Deal with two problems at once."
...
...
...
"You know that makes sense." We turned to Ruby who agreed with my plan.
By now the sound of a bike grew closer to us and we saw that Yang was finally able to catch up with us.
"Sup, what did I miss?" She asked us as she removed her helmet and looked at us waiting for an answer.
"The amount of F's I give."
"What?"
"Nothing." I tell Yang as I now focus on her bike. "So how many people can fit on your bike?"
With a smirk, Yang sent my way she began to explain. "Two, but you will have to hold on to me with both of your-"
"Well, you're going to find a way to make it four." I quickly stop her from continuing and turn to the rest of Ruby's team. "You four go back home. I'm going for a walk." Before they got room to argue I turned to corner and left their sights, continuing to walk more into Vale.
Back with the group they just stared out where Seth left, and all looked at each other.
"Do you think we should at least talk to him about this?" Ruby asked her teammates.
"Nah, just let him burn off some steam. We can ask him later about this and see if he is willing to talk." Yang told her sister as she began to start her bike again.
"Hmp. Whatever his problem is he will have to explain it soon. The faster we get any information on the matter the sooner we can end this." Weiss informed her as she walked towards Yang, not liking the alternative to walking.
"Are you sure his mom knows him?" Ruby asked Weiss.
"Certainly, I heard it myself."
"Well, whatever the case is. All we can do now is wait and see. Anyway, you girls ready to go." Yang said to them, looking at her team she noticed one was missing. "Wait? Were's B-"
"OH FOR FUCK SAKES!" The group all turned in the direction where Seth left and heard him yell out.
"I think we should go and help him out." Ruby said turning to the others only to see Weiss on Yang's bike ready to leave.
"No, we are not getting involved in this."
"But."
"Nope, we are leaving now. Ruby get on the bike."
Turning the corner, I began to walk away and start to head back to Beacon myself. Right now I rather take this time to reflect on everything that happened today and think of what I could have done better to improve myself.
...
...
...
But fuck me and the shit that I go through.
"So where were we." The voice behind me startles me and out of instinct, I yell out.
"OH FOR FUCK SAKES!" Does she ever quit? Turning to face the person I saw that Blake was standing behind me with her arms crossed waiting for me to answer her questions. Narrowing my eyes at her I began to think of all of the curse words that I had acquired during my years and was about to unleash it on her. But I just simply held my tongue and began to walk away as I heard her begin to nag at me.
"Seth!" Just ignore her and she will go away.
"Seth!" She can't keep this up forever.
Ten minutes later
I stand corrected, she can do this all day. After what felt like hours of walking, she kept on pestering me on this topic. That I was about to give in. Sigh... I dealt with people like this before, but holy shit Blake was taking the cake here!
"You know, if you were to tell me not a few days ago we would be having arguments like this I would have laughed at everyone's face and said we were past the whole friend trial here. But Holy shit! Past me is an asshole!"
"This could all be over with if you just answer the only question I need to know." She tells me as we continue to walk back towards Beacon. Honestly, we could have made it back by now, but with the amount of police around here we had to take the long way back, we didn't need to be stopped at every other checkpoint.
"You know the fact that you have four ears is really making me question if you are deaf or not."
"You know that's racist." She tells me with an annoyed tone in her voice.
"If it gets you off my back, I will play my cards right."
"Sigh... Why is this such a big issue for you? All I am asking is to know more about Roman."
"Then let me ask you something myself." We stopped at a crosswalk and saw more patrol cars go right past us. "What are your parents like?"
I think the question it self-made her backtrack on what she was about to say next because all I heard from her was. "Huh?"
"Your parents... What are they like? Alive? Dead? Together? Apart? Active on the White Fang? Retired heroes trying to put a stop on-." I don't continue, hearing Blake's angry tone.
"Why do you care so much? I don't need to tell you."
"Ah, you see now we are getting somewhere here." I said as we continued to walk. "You want so much info on my mom's past that you don't want to give info on your parent's past. Double standards."
"That is completely different. Their past has nothing to do with this." I looked at her with the audacity of what she had just told me. Cause I knew for a fact that she was bullshitting me.
"Really, so you don't want to tell me anything about them, then I won't tell you anything about mine." Before she could argue some more, I stopped her. "Listen, I might not know everything about your side in all of this and that's fine, but you need to understand that I also have my reason to protect my side as well... She's all I have. So just quit Blake, it will do wonders for you."
"And I think you need to understand something here Seth." She quickly gets close to me right on my face. "I won't stop until the person responsible is stopped and the White Fang is clear from this. No matter what. I will stop this even if I have to-" As Blake was going to continue her monolog, we soon heard our names being called out... By two that we didn't expect to see here.
"Seth? Blake?" We both turned in the direction of the source and saw both.
"Pyrrha? Jaune? What are you two doing here?" I asked seeing the two in Vale. Huh, that was weird to find them here.
"Well, Jaune and I both came to Vale to see a movie, he invited me so we came here to see it." Pyrrha answered and saw that Jaune nod as well. But I also saw Pyrrha look between Blake and me.
"Yeah, I had tickets, so I invited her here. What about you two what are you two doing here?" Jaune asked and I turned to Blake who was looking elsewhere. With her not being any help here, I was about to say my usual stick, but we were once more cut off by another group this time.
"Blake! We finally found you. Wait Seth, you're here too?" Now we all turn to the new voice and see both Sun and Neptune walking towards us. And for some reason, Sun looked even more upset.
You know I think for the first time, me and Blake both had the same thought process here, because we both said the same thing.
"Shit." Blake and I both said in unison which surprised both groups.
Making our way back to Beacon was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. We had two people sending daggers at two in the group, two others who had no idea what was going on but felt tension in the air, and two others who didn't inform the other four why they were together at the time they found them, so it lead them to make up whatever they wanted to make in their heads, but we all agree on one thing though.
We can talk about it later, for now, we just wanted to go home.
As we made it back to Beacon, we all made our way back to our respected dorms, with Neptune dragging Sun back to their own building to the dismay of Sun himself. Honestly, the amount that he was trying was getting a little annoying, but not my problem. Soon the four of us also made it to our dorms and we said goodbye to Blake, but right before she entered her room, she turned to me and asked to talk in private. I sadly told her that we could talk tomorrow and see where that would lead us, but she reluctantly agreed to it.
To my surprise both Pyrrha and Jaune didn't question me about that, so I was at least happy that I could deal with it tomorrow. For now, I just wanted to sleep this off and rest for tomorrow.
I just hope that everything calms down by then.
The following morning came, and I didn't want to get out of my bed. Honestly, I didn't even want to go to Vale today for supplies and just relax today. So I began to think of my options.
I can stay here and rest a bit... But Blake still wants to talk to me... Shit.
I can go to Vale with my team... But Pyrrha and Jaune might question me... Honestly, I think that's worse than the alternative... It can be even worse if Ren and Nora also get involved, I can say the same thing about Team RWBY as well.
Sigh... Decisions Decisions.
"Seth, are ready to go to Vale for supplies?" The voice of Ren gets my attention and I just look at him...
Contemplating my options I nod my head and begin to get dressed. Better them than the others... I hope.
As we began to walk out of our room. Team RWBY room also opens revealing the four girls all dressed up and ready to go out... Please Gods! Give me a break!
"Sup guys! You also going to go out to Vale?" Yang said as she stepped out of her room followed by Ruby and Blake.
"Hey Yang! Yeah, we are! What about you four? What's the plan for today?" Nora said also stepping out of our room.
"We have decided to get some supplies today. Since it's our day off we rather get supplies for the rest of the week." Weiss had informed them as she began to look in my general direction.
'Yeah, that's a load of Bull if I ever heard one.' I thought to myself as I kept my attention on my scroll.
"Then how about we all go together? We can make it a day with the nine of us." Jaune exclaimed and I just looked at him with an upset look.
"I'm sure they have their own plans, let's not interfere with-" I get cut off by Blake agreeing with Jaune. I looked at her and saw that she was staring at me.
Taking a deep breath I began to relax myself.
"Well, then it's settled. Let's go guys!" Ruby said as Nora went and followed her.
...
...
...
"Seth? Aren't you coming?" I heard Pyrrha ask me and I just looked at her, already tired of the day.
"Yep!" I said with an upbeat tone that was clearly fake. "Let's go." I began to follow her and soon we all left. As we made our way out of the building Pyrrha turned to me and asked.
"Is something wrong?" I simply shrug at her.
"It's nothing. Just tired that's all." I tell her as we step out of the building.
"Are you sure, you've been like this since we got back? Did something happen yesterday?"
"More than you think. I just have a lot on my mind as of recently."
"Want to talk about it?" Pyrrha placed a hand on my shoulder and I looked at her with a smile. I was really debating if I should tell her now. I mean I trust her, but will she understand?
"'I've just learned that Mom knows someone from here." This got her attention.
"Really? Is that good?"
"Nope."
"Oh, why is it not?"
"Cause the person she knows is someone from her past."
"Oh... I see then." Pyrrha goes quiet. She might get the feeling that the past was kind of a hard topic for our mothers, so we never asked them.
"Yeah, not going to lie. I don't care too much about that, but what I do care about is when someone is trying to find out more about it."
"Are you referring to Blake? Cause you two seem to be at odds with each other since last night."
"Well in a way yes. But I can deal with her myself. I just don't want her to ask questions about my Mom's past. That's all." As I inform Pyrrha this we continue to walk towards the airship to go to Vale. However, we saw our group look towards something and we made our way towards them.
"Hey guys! Look at this!" Nora said to us as she pointed at a poster on the wall.
The poster itself was an event that will be happening next week.
"A dance?" I said out loud.
"Alright! That seems like a party I can get behind." "I can wear a pretty dress!" "A dance does seem interesting." "Does it say that I have to wear heels?" "Hey, Weiss." "No." As the group began to voice their opinions, I began to feel uneasy about this one.
"A dance. That sounds lovely." Hearing a happy tone from Pyrrha, I began to wonder if I should skip this one as well. Don't get me wrong, I like dancing and all of that, but my record for attending these types of events has not been well for me.
"Might be another one that I skip." I said to myself, but Pyrrha must have heard me.
"Come on Seth, you can't go your whole life without going to these events. You skipped so many back then, just go to this one." She urges me to go but I don't really want to.
"I don't know..."
"Come on Shades, don't be a downer on this." Now Yang got involved and soon everyone began to get on my case for this. After some pestering, I just tell them.
"Sigh... I'll think about it." I tell them, not breaking their hopes up.
"Anyway we should keep moving, we need to go before we miss the next airship." Blake told us as she began to walk away from the poster and we all soon followed her.
A dance huh? Well, maybe this one can be a nice change for me. I mean at least I will have more people to be around than my old times, so I guess I can give it a try.
I mean what's the. No! Shut up me!
We all entered the airship and took our seats together as we began to wait for it to take off. A news report began to play out loud getting all of our attention.
"In other news, yesterday's Rampages through Vale. We have finally gotten a clear number of people injured from yesterday's 'Highway from Hell' incident. The number that we assumed yesterday was twenty-eight but now that everything has been cleared up, we have now discovered that the number in question is a maximum of forty-two." The image changed to that of yesterday's incident that we were in and showed many cars flipped over or were once on fire. The image once again changes to the remainder of the paladin and police tape all around the area. "Police and investigators have also discovered that the ones responsible for this incident were once again the White Fang. As of right now, no comments have been made from the high leader of the Fang, but many questions have been made. For example, how were they able to acquire high-tech Military equipment? Some people are now concerned with both White Fang and Atlas forces now being in the area. Only time will tell what happens in the future of Vale."
I stopped paying attention to the report and turned to the others. To be expected the look of sheer shock was all over team RWBY, finally understanding the consequences of their action. But I think the one notable thing from this was that Blake just looked upset with everything. She quickly turned to me and I just looked away not trying to get in her line of fire.
"How awful." I heard Pyrrha say next to me.
"I know, and we were there yesterday. What happened." Jaune added but turned to me. "Did you guys hear anything?" Jaune said to us, as he looked at me and what I assume was Blake as well.
I lean back into my seat as I just ignore his question. But this time Nora was the one to ask one.
"Wait? You two were also out in Vale? Why?" I was waiting for Ruby and the others to join in but I heard nothing from them. Looking at them I saw that they were still looking at the report and were not helpful to me.
"Oh, you know... Went on a wal-" I get cut off by Blake.
"We went out. I needed help with something and he went with me. I still need to ask him a few things, but we didn't hear anything. That's where we met you two." As Blake finishes explaining to them, not telling the full story to the others. The rest of our group all turn to us, with mixed reactions in both groups.
I on the other hand didn't want to turn my head to the side, because for some reason I felt the intensity of the person next to me looking at my general direction. So I just took off my sunglasses and rubbed my face in annoyance at this whole mess.
"Sigh... God damn it, Blake. How can things get any worse." As the ship began to take off, I heard Jaune about ready to puke.
"Get me off this crazy thing!" This was going to be the longest trip ever.
As we landed, I was hoping that Ruby's team would go somewhere else and do their shopping, but to no one surprise, they just followed us to our usual places that we went. They did actually buy some things, just to not seem suspicious. But I had a feeling they had a plan in mind.
Every so often one of them tried to get close to me. Like every time we went to our usual spots to get something, Blake was usually the one right behind me. Did it freak me out? Yes, but the first time it happened I saw that she was about to ask me something. But thanks to Nora and Ren she quickly backed away before she could open her mouth and ask. So for the remainder of the trip, I was always next to one of my teammates.
Did it work?
...
...
...
It did... But... Soon Jaune went to the bathroom and I was left alone.
"Seth can I at least ask one thing." Blake said as she appeared from the corner of the wall.
"Man Blake, are you like a cloud?" She looks at me confused by what I just said. "Cause you really like to rain on my parade here."
She blinks a few times. "Those are squalls Seth, no one likes those."
I didn't know how to answer that, so I just looked back at the bathroom where Jaune went.
"Seth."
"Blake can you please just quit it." I tried my best not to raise my voice at her, but I was now getting annoyed by her. "Whatever you are going to ask about, I not answering."
"Just one question."
"No."
"Is-"
"What did I just-"
"Is Torchwick your father?"
...
...
...
...
...
I looked back at her and saw that she was actually serious about her question. so serious that I didn't know if I wanted to answer this because it sounded dumb in my opinion. So, I just said the first thing that came to mind.
"Are you fucking Dumb?" Even though it sounded pretty bad on my part.
"Excuse me?" She said with a confused look on her face.
"Nah, that's my line. What the hell do you mean? I don't even look like him. So where does that idea come from."
"Well, you come from a single household. You have no idea who your father is." At this point, I was angry at her. "And to top it all out, your mother is keeping secrets from you about her past. So, a few things might add up if you actually look th-." Blake goes quiet as she looks back at me and sees that the wind around us is beginning to pick up.
Anger was all I was feeling, this amount of hate was getting to me that I just wanted to punch something or someone. I wanted her to stop but as Blake continued to talk, I was beginning to consider punching her for these stupid questions she was throwing at me. I was about to raise my fist at her but felt someone grab it. Turning to the person responsible I saw that Pyrrha was the one who grabbed it.
"What are you-."
"Blake." The sound of Pyrrha's tone was different than her usual one and even Blake was able to pick it up as well. "I would 'kindly' suggest that you drop this subject about Miss Sapphire." She said kindly to her, but you could hear it in her tone that this was not something to argue about.
Blake looked between Pyrrha and me wanting to argue but Pyrrha once again spoke. "Let me tell you something Blake, if you wish to know more. Do yourself a favor and read a book. That is something that I believe you would enjoy more." With that, she grabs a hold of my hand and drags me away from this place. Leaving Blake alone with her thoughts.
As we turn another corner Pyrrha stops in her tracks and turns to me. "Are you okay?"
I nodded at her and tried to move on but our hands were still together. "Sigh... Yeah, just... just give me a minute." I tried to forget everything that Blake said to me and just focus on the now. Doesn't matter what Mom is hiding, what matters is that she was there for me.
After another few minutes, I regain my composure trying to move on from that encont. I look down at my hand and raise it up to motion Pyrrha to let go. She gets the memo and does that. Soon I begin to smile once more. "I didn't know you can talk to someone like that. When did you start to do this?" I see her face begin to turn a shade of red as she turns from me.
"Well, I learned from the best. But if I'm being honest here, I didn't like that she was bad-mouthing Saff." She begins to walk and I follow behind her. "Our mother's past is really filled with mystery, but one thing is for certain." She stops and looks at me. "They are good people... Intense with each other, but good people overall. So whatever they are keeping I'm sure they have their reasons for it."
"Yeah, they do." I look up at her and smile once more. "Thanks Pyrrha." She smiles and goes to stand next to me. Once close, she pulls me in for a hug. I was not expecting it, but regardless I hugged back.
After what felt like forever I was beginning to feel a little bit awkward, that I was about to say something but I heard her say my name. "Seth..."
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering if you would-" She was going to continue but out from the corner Jaune came by calling my name. "Seth! There you are I was wondering if you ditch... Am I interrupting something?" We both turned to him and saw him standing there awkwardly by the scene in front of him. We both let go of the hug and I quickly regain my shit together.
"Ugh, no! Not at all, just got tired of waiting so I was beginning to walk for a bit, just met Pyrrha here."
"Yes Jaune... Not interrupting anything." For some strange reason, I could hear her tone change a bit and it sounded upset.
"Okay... But why were you two-." I quickly cut him off.
"Jaune you're asking too many questions!"
"We should go meet with the others. Let us go." Pyrrha began to walk ahead of us as we both followed her. Jaune leans close to me and whispers to me. "Did I interrupt something here?"
"Nah, just... Honestly, I don't even know myself. But you didn't... I don't think you did. Sorry about leaving, it's just that... Did you see anyone when you exited the bathroom?"
"Huh? Umm, No I don't think so. Why?"
"No reason." Rather not get him involved with this, so I just dropped the question. As we made it to the others we saw both Ren and Nora standing outside. We made our way towards them and noticed something was off.
"Hey guys, you ready to go? Where is Ruby's team?" Jaune asked getting a sad look from Nora.
"They left. Said something about needing to go to another store before they closed. We said we can follow them, but Blake sounded kind of odd." As Nora finished her explanation Pyrrha and I both looked at each other with a knowing look.
Well, this might be for the best. I rather they not add fuel to the fire right now. Also, I don't think I want to see Blake anytime soon. So I will just keep my distance from her. As we began to walk towards the next shop I noticed one person in particular that I didn't expect to see around here.
"Mint?" She was walking away from a shop that she exited and saw her skipping away with something in her hand.
...
...
...
'... I'm sure it's nothing.' I thought to myself as I turned away from her and began to follow the others. 'There was just no way.'
As days went by the rest of Team RWBY kind of backed off for a bit. They still hung around us, but what I noticed was that they were keeping a distance from me. Honestly, I didn't care too much since I didn't want to talk with them as well. But when we did, it was mostly Ruby and Yang who tried to get on my good side.
Ruby's tactic was to spill about learning the truth about Penny and how she was finally able to understand what I meant to her about her being a special case. But at least there were now two of us in the club so Yeah.
Yang's tactic was... Teasing... Lots and lots of teasing... God damn it, Yang.
Didn't care too much on the other two, cause they were mostly the ones responsible for our turmoil, but at least I know now why they backed off. Thanks Ruby.
So here we were in Doctor Oobleck's class taking a test on a random Thursday. I looked to my side and saw an empty seat. Velvet and her team all left for a mission. So I had no one to copy the first few questions, but I think I can manage. Wonder how they are doing?
As I was about to move on to the next question... My worst fear finally came true.
I've been watchin' you lately
Chasing your tail and it drives me crazy
You'll never get that girl
As everyone turned toward me, I just simply dropped my pencil to the floor and began to rapidly tap my heart. Trying to stop this nightmare.
'Oh God! It's happening!' I thought to myself in a panic state.
She don't see in you the things that I can see
The girl's ice cold, it ain't meant to be
Looking above the upon you
Seeing that It wasn't going away I looked towards Professor Oobleck and saw that he was also confused by my antics.
"Sir, may I 'please' be excuse." I said with a begging tone. Hoping that he will let me go.
"Can't you stop it, Mister Sapphire?" He asked not knowing I couldn't, and I shook my head 'no'.
I've been spending time wondering why
Nothing that I do can catch your eye
Just can't capture your attention
"Sir." I asked now running out of options that the window was looking pretty jumpable right about now.
"Ugh... Very well. You may." As I finally got the permission, I began to move towards the door not daring to raise my head up. Thank God for my sunglasses. However, that didn't stop a group from laughing up a storm.
"HAHAHAHA!" I'm going to end them.
Maybe I'm too tall or not your type
But I'm not giving up, I'll get it right
Being close to you is my intention
As the lyrics ended, I ran out the door and closed it, walking away from the classroom and into the halls of the school. Trying to find the best place to let this song end.
Back inside as the group of four continued to laugh at the boy that ran out, they didn't notice that a few people were now sending daggers at the group. The most noticeable one was the one on his team.
As soon as one of the members of the group stopped laughing, he notice the shitstorm that they were getting themselves into. Quickly motioning to the other to 'shut up'. The leader looks at him with a confused look. Only for him to point in the general direction of one girl.
Her eyes were narrow and filled with hate that scared the team. However, it was the person next to her that really made them scared. She motioned with her thumb in a slitting motion on her neck indicating that they were dead.
The group of four all gulp in fear for the upcoming day.
"Is everything okay?" A girl with green hair said to the person she was sitting next to with a worried tone.
"Every... Thing... Is... Fine." The girl said gripping her pencil so hard that if you looked closely you could see smoke coming out of it. "Focus... On the... Class." The girl said as she placed her head on the table, trying to calm down while breathing heavily.
'What is happening to me? Why do I have this urge to... To... Urg!' As the girl continued to think, her train of thought came to a halt as she heard another person asking something out loud.
"Is that music?" The guy with grey hair said as he turned to the door.
How I wish that you knew, that I'm crazy for you
When I'm with you, Time flies by (Time just flies)
"For Fucksake when will it End!" A voice was also heard and soon everyone turned towards the door trying to understand what was happening outside of the classroom.
And as the girl raised her head towards the door, she stared intensely at it.
I'll get you alone, make you my own
It will be divine.
As I continue to walk down the halls and out of the school building, the song finally ends. Thank God it's over! You know I had this dream before, but it was way worse.
So what now? I don't want to return to class right now. Don't want to deal with that awkward return at all. Rather deal with those dicks tomorrow in combat class. But now what?
"Ah, Mister Sapphire just the person I wanted to speak too." Turning to face the Headmaster I saw him standing with his mug in hand.
'Awh, shit!'
"I see well, I was just about to return to class, sir. Sorry, I just had an emergency. Got to go now." I tried to walk back inside but I was stopped by myself glowing purple.
"Now, Mister Sapphire." Now the voice of Miss Goodwitch was right behind me as she stood next to the headmaster.
'Assholes have to help assholes, right?!' With not much room to argue I agreed with them and began to float towards the headmaster's office. This was already a pain in my books.
Getting gently placed down on one of the headmaster's chairs I began to rub my head at the annoying pain that I was having. I swear if this man pulls out a chessboard from under his desk again, I am going to flip that bitch over!
"Now Mister Sapphire, you might be wondering why we brought you here in the first place."
"Sir I do not want to play chess again." I tell him as the room goes silent for a minute. Miss Goodwitch just looks at the headmaster annoyed by his antic, feels like that's an occurring trend here, and turns back to me. Waiting for the headmaster to start.
"No, that is not what we brought you here." I see him stop himself from reaching under his desk and place his hands back on the table. Soon he reaches for a tablet and moves it, in my general direction.
On the table was video footage of the incident that happened a few days ago. And everything clicks right there.
"Yeah, heard that happened a few days ago."
"Hm, quite. Tell me, where were you on that day?"
...
...
...
Poker face, Seth Poker face.
"I was in Vale." Don't lie to him, he might have something up his sleeves.
"Really on that day alone?"
"Yes."
"And what exactly were you doing in Vale?" I shifted my eyes towards Miss Goodwitch who was just narrowing her eyes at me, Thanks to my sunglasses I was safe from the stern look she was giving me.
"I was... I was..." Think Seth Think! What would Mom do? "I... got into a fight." I mean, I ain't wrong here.
"Really? A fight? Was the fight serious that you had to bring your weapon to your location?" Oh shit, the lockers have trackers!
...
...
...
"Yes." I answer without remorse. I feel like they already had all the information on what happened that day, So I don't know why he is dragging this conversation on.
"I see... Well, that explains everything." I looked at him confused and saw Miss Goodwitch look somewhat upset.
"What?"
"Hm? What is the matter? Is there something you want to add Mister Sapphire?"
Yeah, a bunch of things here! Why am I not in trouble?! "Ugh, no sir just confused on why you asked me these questions."
"I see." The man gets up from his seat and walks towards the window looking outward. "I just wanted to know if my students had anything to do with the problem that happened a few days ago. You see reports did say that a group of... How many was it Glynda?"
"Seven sir."
"Right, Seven. Were somewhat also responsible for the events that happened that night. Now I'm sure none of my students would cause a scene that would endanger themselves or the people around them. Am I correct here?"
This guy knows too much! "Right, sir." I nod my head in agreement. But inside I was waiting for him to throw his worst.
"Good, I mean police were able to get pictures of the people responsible but it was mostly just blurred images that we couldn't tell who it was." Miss Goodwitch walked up to me and showed me the picture that he was referring to and to my surprise, the pictures were as clear as day.
You could see the people responsible.
"Yeah... Can't see anything here sir." I tell him clearly lying to the man.
...
...
...
"Hm, alright then. You are free to go, young man,"
...
...
...
"Wait really?" I should have said that in my head.
"of course." He motions me that I can go and I turn to Goodwitch who was also indicating for me to leave. So that's what I did. I got up from my seat and waited for the elevator to arrive... But.
"Oh! One more thing Mister Sapphire." I turn to the man and see him smiling at me. "Do you by any chance know someone who knows his way around music?"
...
...
...
"Oh, Fuck me." Just expelled me.
A/N: Sigh... don't you love filling in the blanks? Anyway thank you all for reading and I will see you all next time. (He won't say next week cause we don't even know ourselves.)
