On the very next day, Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, Lily heard another knock on her door around 6.A.M. Hogwarts time.
"Who is it today?" asked Lily brightly.
"Ainsley Cochlain, " answered the voice on the other side, "May we talk, please?"
"Of course, " answered Lily a nanosecond later, and she went and let Ainsley.
Ainsley sat down besides Lily on Lily's bed and said, "Lily I have a few requests."
"Fire away, Ainsley, " said Lily encouragingly.
"I would like to postpone my fundraiser for Worthy Wands from later this month until June. I know one fundraiser a month is scheduled a month from January through May: Albus's book sale in January, James's candy sale in February away the candy intense times of Halloween, Christmas, and Easter, Hugo's cookie sale in march, Devon's movie fundraiser in April, and Stephanie's drawing fundraiser in May. I'd like to postpone mine until June."
"With Samantha's smashing success, more fundraising for Worthy Wands is not urgent at this time, " said Lily briskly, "I agree to your postponement request, but why are you making it."
"I wish to change my fundraiser, " said Ainsley in a serious voice, "It just doesn't feel right to me to charge my friends for friendship bracelets. I feel like that goes against the very spirit of making the friendship bracelets. It feels right to give the friendship bracelets to my friends rather than sell the friendship bracelets to my friends. Selling friendship bracelets, even for fundraising, just doesn't feel right to me."
"I totally get where you're coming from there, Ainsley, " said Lily in understanding, "But what would you like to replace it with? You don't have to decide right away if you aren't going to hold your fundraiser until June?"
"Well, " smirked Ainsley, "The Having Fun at Lily's Expense Party was certainly popular. I like to hold a Having Fun at Ainsley's Expense Party in June, but with quite different events than the Having Fun at Lily's Expense Party. Let's just say my idea for a Having Fun at Ainsley's Expense Party would not allow people to have fun at my expense in a mean way but in much sillier ways. I'd have such events as the Throwing Water balloons at Ainsley Competition and the Pieing Ainsley in the Face Competition. I'll still have some time to think up more events too."
"That sounds really fun, Ainsley, " smiled Lily, "I hereby grant your requests both to postpone your fundraiser until June and to change it to the Having Fun at Ainsley's Expense Party."
"Thank you, Lily, " said Ainsley gratefully, "Selling friendship bracelets, even for fundraising, just felt insincere and disingenuous to me."
"I honestly agree, " said Lily matter of factly, "I'm glad you came to me with this change. "
"I'm still going to make the friendship bracelets, " Ainsley made clear, "Please don't be offered Lily, you're still one of my best friends, but I now plan on making seventeen friendship bracelets rather than seven."
"Seventeen is exactly the right number, " smiled Lily, "I love that you're embracing our whole circle, with Gordon being its newest member."
"The Hogwarts Drawing Competition is only going to bring us that much closer, " predicted Ainsley.
"I totally agree with you on that point Ainsley, " said Lily a nanosecond later.
