On the morning of Tuesday, September 28h, 2021, Hogwarts awoke to some stunning happy news.

Devon, Hugo, James, Albus, Fred, Gordon, Aaron, Pamela, Rose, Roxanne, Penny, Courtney, Stephanie, Samantha, and Lily had all just sat down at the Gryffindor table in Friendship Hall to get ready for breakfast when a leaflet came zooming down from the ceiling and landed squarely n Lily's hands.

"AWESOME!" exclaimed Lily loudly as she read the leaflet.

"What?' chroused Devon, Hugo, James, Albus, Fred, Gordon, Aaron, Pamela, Rose, Roxanne, Penny, Courtney, Stephanie, and Samantha.

"There's a headline," explained Lily, "Hogwarts Graduate Oliver Wood makes one million galleon donation to Hogwarts. Much to be replaced."

""Continue," ordered Samantha excitedly.

"Late Monday night, Hogwarts graduate Oliver Wood, a former Keeper for Gryffindor now playing for Puddlemore United, who has become quite a wealthy man owing to his long and illustrious career as a professional Quidditch player, donated one hundred thousand galleons to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to be used to replaced old stuff."

"Do we know what' being replaced?" inquired Devon eagerly.

"Yes," said Lily happily, "There's a list of things thar are going to be replaced at Hogwarts because of Oliver Wood's donation."

"Read it," called out Hugo hyperly.

"Oliver Wood has made the request for his donation to replace the following items at Hogwarts, a request that will be honored by Headmistress Kirke:

The learning brooms.

The house tables.

All benches, chairs, and desks at Hogwarts.

All curtains and blinds at Hogwarts.

All beds and pillows at Hogwarts, sheets and pillowcases included.

All plates, bowls, dishes, spoons, knives, forks, and glasses at Hogwarts.

"Wow," said Courtney, "When is this stuff all supposed to be replaced.?"

"The leaflet answered that too," grinned Lily.

"The replacement of these items shall occur over a three day period from Wednesday, September 29th through Friday October 1st of the year 2021," read Lily.

"Much respect to Oliver, " cooed Roxanne, "He clearly remembers his roots."

"Love the fact that it's happening right away this wee too," added Fred.

Devon, Hugo, James, Albus, Fred, Gordon, Aaron, Pamela, Rose, Roxanne, Penny, Courtney, Stephanie, Samantha, and Lily all just smiled at each other feeling warmth on their insides. There wasn't really a whole lot to say, but there was a whole lot to like.

It was like this around Friendship Hall. The few people who had gotten the leaflets had spread the word to their family, friends, and houses and before long every student knew what was coming.

"So," called Headmistress Kirke into her megaphone after a while, "Oliver Wood visited Hogwarts Sunday night at his request. He asked me to show him around the school and give him a guided tour. I was confused as to why a Hogwarts graduate would want a guided tour of the school. However, from the nanosecond this tour began, it was clear that Oliver was looking at things intently. When we concluded the tour, he expressed the view that he felt like a lot of things at Hogwarts needed updating or replacing and that he would donate the necessary funds to make that happen. He laid out how much he would donate, what he wanted it spent on, and his timeline for making it all happen. Let's have a round of applause for Oliver Wood."

Everyone in Friendship Hall, including Devon, Hugo, James, Albus, Fred, Gordon, Aaron, Pamela, Rose, Roxanne, Penny, Courtney, Stephanie, Samantha, and Lily, began clapping and chanting "Thank You Oliver!" as loudly as they could.

Headmistress Kirke smiled warmly as she watched this scene unfold.

A Hogwarts student from the previous generation now had a hand in helping out the New Era of Hogwarts.
