On the evening of Thursday, October 14th, at 11 P.M. Hogwarts time. Lily was sitting alone in her room not doing or thinking about much when something occurred to her.
Halloween would mark the one year anniversary of Ollivander's death.
Lily knew how much Ollivander had meant to James, how great of a mentor Ollivander had been for James. and how devastating Ollivander's death had been for James.
Furthermore, Ollivander had been one of the most important and influential wizards of his time, and really of all time.
Lily thought now that Ollivander deserved a bit of remembrance on the one year anniversary of his death.
Lily was a more than an intelligent enough girl to know that once Carnival Halloween started, there would be no stopping for any remembrances or tributes.
Her solution?
Have some time for remembrance of and reflection on Ollivander before breakfast was served.
They could pay tribute to Ollivander before breakfast before all the big activities of the day started.
This remembrance would obviously include a minute and a nanosecond of silence, but Lily felt that there had to be more to the tribute than just the quiet time.
Ollivander was a Wandmaker. Not just any old Wandmaker either. Ollivander was widely recognized as the GOAT Wandmaker.
Therefore, Lily knew it would be only fitting to include several wand themed tributes.
The overwhelming majority of Hogwarts students were still using Ollivander made wands.
After the minute and nanosecond of silence had passed, all Hogwarts students who were using an Ollivander made wand would stand up and raise their wands in tribute. They would then all perform Lumos to signify the light that Ollivander had brought into both their lives and the Wizarding World. They would hold their wands lit for a minute and then darken them to signify the loss of Ollivander.
After that, these students would sit back down and then EVERY student would lay his or her wand in front of him or her on his or her table and would place his or her right hand on his or her wand and say "Ollivander," in unison.
The final part of the tribute would be that the first thing they ate on that day would be licorice wands.
Before breakfast, a licorice wand would appear on every students' plate.
This would transition them to the more cheerful day ahead after the remembrance while still fitting the theme.
Lily knew this idea would be approved by Headmistress Kirke. It was just a matter of telling her about it.
