Day 12: Vaporeon
At the start of this segment, Lyra is just happily sitting on a chair minding her own business when I come in to see what's up.
Me: Hey, Lyra, what's going on?
(Lyra just continues to look up at me, smiling)
Me: Uh, Lyra, you good? You're starting to creep my out.
(Lyra continues to stare at me before…)
Lyra: Hey, WildCard, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokemon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible…
Me: OH MY GOD, NO!
Lyra: Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3''03' tall and 63.9 pounds, this means they're large enough to…
Me: Lyra, stop what you're doing, and shut the fuck up right now!
Lyra:...with their impressive Base Stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one! Due to their mostly water based biology, there's no doubt in…
Me: If you don't stop we're not going to KFC after this!
(Lyra stops talking and pouts as she walks away)
Lyra: You never let me have any fun.
…
Me: This whole skit is just a segue into me talking about Vaporeon.
(Insert Vaporeon cry here)

It would be a crime against humanity if I didn't talk about at least one of the Eeveelutions during this marathon. These Pokemon, and by extension their pre-evolved form Eevee are some of the most beloved and interesting Pokemon that the series has to offer; one Pokemon being able to evolve into eight different forms? Sign me the hell up!
And while all of the Eeveelutions are great…for the most part; Flareon kind of sucks…I think my favorite one has to be the water type Eeveelution, Vaporeon.
First, let's take a look at that design. It's cute, elegant, and I'm honestly getting some mermaid vibes with its tail. Vaporeon is just a really cute Pokemon that I want to hug and nothing more, shut up Copypasta spammers!
Both Vapreon's natural ability and hidden ability are really great too. Its natural ability, Water Absorb, makes it so it won't take damage from Water-Type Moves, and if he's low on HP then Water-Type moves and the rain weather effect can actually heal it. As for its hidden ability, Hydration, it actually heals any status effects that it may have in the rain. Water Absorb is the better ability in my opinion, but they're both really good to have.
Now for the stats. As that damn Copypasta kindly pointed out, Vapreon's claim to fame is having amazing HP stats and pretty decent Special Defense. With these stats and its abilities, especially if Hydration is concerned, Vaporeon can easily be a good tank, especially if it has Acid Armor to boost its physical Defense and Aqua Ring to heal some of its HP after every turn.
Vapreon's Special Attack stat is this Pokemon's second strongest stat, and they give Vaporeon some nice moves to take advantage of them, with some examples being Surf, Hydro Pump, Water Pulse, Aurora Beam, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball and Hyper Beam for the sake of variety.
While it can be a good attacker, ultimately, with its abilities and some of its other moves like Aqua Ring, Acid Armor, and Rain Dance, Vaproeon was meant to be a tanking Pokemon. And an adorable tanking Pokemon at that.
Whether you want your Vaporeon to dish out damage or soak up damage like a sponge, there's no denying that Vaporeon is a Pokemon worthy of being on any team.
Now if I can only go the rest of my life without having to hear about that damn Copypasta ever again, then I'll truly be happy.
