Back in Seattle
Elliot POV
I'm sitting in my office working on some designs for an addition to an office building downtown. The owner is looking to add an entertainment area somewhere and wants something creative and different so I'm brainstorming. There's limited space to work with so I've really got to think outside the box. I've got the blueprints unrolled in front of me so I know what I've got to work with when my phone rings. It's Kate.
E: Hey babe! I wasn't expecting you to call, but it's a nice surprise. I hope you guys are having fun?
I hear her sigh and a feeling of dread washes over me. My suspicions are confirmed when I hear what she has to say.
K: Hi El. I wish this was a good call but unfortunately it's not. We've had a situation here that has caused Rhi to shut down. She was off in the pool relaxing when all of a sudden she returns in a panic. She kept mumbling that Jace was here and really freaking out. Come to find out, it was Sawyer who was the cause. He creeped up on her and his physical presence absolutely terrified her. Ryan and Reynolds were here too but they were on the other side of the pool. I told Ana they were here and she's aware Christian sent them. She's fucking pissed. Ana is back with Rhi but I wanted to let you know what happened.
E: Holy fuck! Is she ok? How is she doing? Were you able to get the guys to leave?
K: Ana let them have it and threatened them. She said she'd call the police if they came near her again. I don't think Ryan or Reynolds did anything to cause her distress, but they could have stepped in and stopped Sawyer. Ryan apologized and they left the pool area.
God damnit! I was hoping something like this wouldn't happen but I had a bad feeling when Kate said earlier Rhi felt like someone was watching her. Leave it to fucking Luke to cause problems.
K: Babe, can you see of you can get Taylor or Christian or both to figure out how to get Sawyer to leave her alone? Maybe they can have him fly back to Seattle? Something has to be done because I don't know what she'll do if she sees him again.
Upon hearing what Kate said I'm struggling to contain my anger. I love Rhi like a sister and have become protective of her in the little time I've known her. She's comfortable with me enough to tell me some of her past. I'm sure I don't know everything but I do know that I refuse to let some asshole come into her life and destroy her, even if I know them. Luke is a good guy deep down but his restraint can be lacking in certain circumstances. For example, I bet he's attracted to Rhi and wants to get close to her physically but he's forgetting he's working and he's supposed to be distant and hidden as much as possible. I've seen him in action and when he sees a female he likes he pushes forward to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, not physically but personality wise. He reminds me of Christian and how he's pursuing Ana. Usually, he's able to maintain control of himself and nothing happens, especially on a job so I don't understand why he's doing this right now.
E: Hang on babe. Let me call Taylor really quick. I'll call you right back.
K: Ok. Thank you Elliot. I love you.
As I dial Taylor's number, I feel my face heating up with anger. I'm so mad I feel like one of those cartoon characters with the smoke blowing out their ears.
T: Elliot. What can I do for you?
Taylor answers and his voice sounds stressed. I can imagine what he's feeling and dealing with and I get the frustration but this is more about a person than the fact that he can't find information on her.
E: Kate just called saying all hell has broken loose there.
I hear him sigh and there's silence for a moment before he continues.
T: What happened now Elliot?
E: You need to clean up a mess ASAP. Your three goons just scared the shit out of the girls and now Rhi is almost catatonic. You need to control your stalkers, especially Luke. He's the one who can't leave shit alone. Let me warn you that if this can't be undone, if she can't be brought back, you will fucking regret it. You, Christian, Luke, Ryan and Reynolds will all fucking regret it. If you won't handle it, I WILL.
I hang up, not giving him a chance to respond. I'm so pissed I can't even talk right now. I need to call Kate but I want to keep calm so I wait for a few minutes and take some calming breaths. After a bit I feel calm enough and call Kate back without snapping at her.
E: Hey babe. I just talked to Taylor, sort of, and told him what's going on. I told him he needs to control Luke because he's the one that's causing the problems. Then I hung up on him. I'm too pissed right now to talk to him. I'll call him back when I cool off to see what he's done to rectify the situation. I don't understand Luke. He can't fucking leave her alone and, unfortunately, we can't tell anyone anything. Do you need me to come out there? What do you need me to do?
K: El, no, you stay there. I'll let you know if we need you to come. We may end up having to tell Christian something so he can do something about Sawyer. I don't think Ryan or Reynolds did anything to cause an issue. I actually think they were trying to keep him away from Rhi. However, I'm too pissed to even try to find out what's going on. Let me get back to Rhi and see if we can salvage all the work we've done to get her where she is. I love you.
She's livid, I can hear it in her voice and I feel terrible that I can't do anything to help out.
E: I love you too, babe. We'll fix this somehow. I promise. Keep me updated and I'll let you know when I hear something from this end.
She hangs up. God I hope she hasn't regressed. And I hope we don't have to tell my brother anything. He's got issues himself and I don't know what would happen. I don't have the energy to deal with that.
