Ahsoka, chapter 8: The Encounter – part 1
Ahsoka was too occupied and could not overview how many opponents were down permanently and who were only out of the commotion for a few breaths. Her sensory world blurred into a small sphere of blocking blaster shoots and lightsaber swifts, all the while her aching heart felt like a stone of a burden and every moment felt like the one wasted to rescue Sabine. Somehow, her body functioned on instinct alone and spurred her. She had to act upon the overwhelming situation or it would wear them out soon. Baylan Skoll was following her now and those opponents in between only weakened her additionally.
She Force-pushed her nearest opponent into Baylan's chest out of pure despair, which at least let both of them stumble for a moment. She searched within the Force for the rock she had used earlier on to somersault and moved it, let it fly and pin the legs of those two to the ground for hopefully a few moments longer.
Only then did Ahsoka have the opportunity to take a look around. Hyang had a scorched blaster bolt hole in its metal torso and still fought two of the mercenaries simultaneously. Really? Was the professor punching with the two halves of the circuit lightsaber in his right front hand?, she wondered.
The droid's two left hands whirled two lumps of something to be cautious of and something deadly was clamped to its pincers. Two opponents were down. Baylan was the one who endangered them here, even more for him knowing their dilemma: they needed to stay for Ezra as well as to go for Sabine. In conclusion, they needed help as soon as possible and the only friends nearby Ahsoka could think of were – the purrgils! Even with the opportunity to take a breath, there was no time for a meditative call through the Force in the middle of a fight, seeing Baylan rising the pinning rock into her direction. She had to dodge it and reflect a blaster bolt from one mercenary successively, who had shot from ground position. Therefore, her Force search only came out as a short emotional plead of "Please, help!" in a vague area transmitted through the web of the Force afterwards.
Splinters of the crashing rock exploded and some continued to slide on the stone ground. One flying in the air scratched Ahsoka's right thigh and she ducked instinctively. In the sudden silence that followed, the calculating machine started to peep shrilly. Ahsoka made a dash for her data stick.
