Dueling Critters

S-M-I-L-E everyday! ...Well except when a fellow critter sacrificed herself in a duel to make sure her friends doesn't suffer the same fate as her... After the supposed death of CraftyCorn, these critters are no longer smiling. They've changed and now a lot of questions need to be answered, mostly, Who was the individual that took CraftyCorn's life away?

5. Chapter 4

Chapter 4: CatNap Vs KickinChicken: The First Duel In Forever!

CatNap and KickinChicken were then standing on opposite sides of a dueling field in Verygreen Park. DogDay was watching from a bench on CatNap's side.

"...Well, this is getting somewhere…" CatNap said, "Are you ready?"

"Pfft! I'm always ready for this rad duel of our's!" KickinChicken replied as his duel disk shuffled his deck,

CatNap's duel disk shuffled his disk as well.

"I don't know why I bothered putting a pentagram on mine, but now it suits the mood I'm in." He said, "Angst."

"Try not to lose!" DogDay hollered,

"I never said I want to lose. CatNap said to DogDay, "All I said was to duel KickinChicken and to get it over with!"

"Ok, are you two done talking again?" KickinChicken said, "Come on, duel me already!"

"Ok, I will, God!"

Both of their duel disks activate a certain part in them as the dueling field starts to manifest something phenomenal. The duel was starting.

"Duel!" CatNap and KickinChicken both shouted,

Turn 1. CatNap: 4000, KickinChicken: 4000.

Both critters drew 5 cards from their hands and looked at each other.

"I hope you're ready to see what I do!" KickinChicken said, "Better take some notes on my deck!"

"Go first." CatNap said,

"And that's exactly what I'll do!"

KickinChicken played a Continunous Spell Card to start his turn. "Black Whirlwind" was activated.

"Time to start this rad duel by activating the Continuous Spell, Black Whirlwind!" He said, "And then I'll Normal Summon this guy!"

KickinChicken played a Monster Card to follow it up. "Blackwing - Shura The Blue Flame" was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1800 ATK Points.

"Blackwing - Shura The Blue Flame!" He shouted, "And this triggers Black Whirlwind's effect! When a "Blackwing" monster is Normal Summoned to my field, I can add another "Blackwing" monster from my deck with ATK points less than the monster I summoned!"

KickinChicken goes through his deck to search for another "Blackwing" monster with less ATK points than Shura. He ended up searching and revealing "Blackwing - Gale The Whirlwind" from his deck. His deck then shuffled.

"And here's the cool monster I searched off of!" He continued,

KickinChicken then Special Summoned "Blackwing - Gale The Whirlwind" from his hand in Attack Position with 1300 ATK Points.

"Blackwing - Gale The Whirlwind!" He said, "And he's only a Tuner Monster!"

"A Tuner?!" DogDay said, "Don't tell me he's gonna."

"Yup… You're gonna Synchro Summon…" CatNap said, "Aren't you?"

"Damn straight I am!" KickinChicken shouted in response, "Here I go! I tune my Level 3 Gale The Whirlwind with my Level 4 Shura The Blue Flame!"

A Synchro Summon has started with Level 3 Gale and Level 4 Shura.

"Soar through the heavens with armor blacker than the void!" KickinChicken chanted, "Synchro Summon! Rise to power, Level 7, Blackwing Armor Master!"

A new Blackwing monster was successfully Synchro Summoned. It was Level 7 "Blackwing Armor Master" in ATK Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"Oh my!" DogDay shouted, "It's powerful!"

"2500 ATK Points, huh?" CatNap said, "Not bad."

"Ah! Now you're impressed!" KickinChicken said, "Good, keep it that way, because I'm ending this turn by setting one card face down!"

KickinChicken sets a Trap Card face down before ending his turn.

"Go ahead, buddy!" He said to CatNap, "Because I want to see what you can do!"

Turn 2. CatNap: 4000. KickinChicken: 4000

CatNap draws a card to start his turn. He looked at his hand full of "Lunalight" cards.

"Hmm, I see…" He said in his mind, "This is my deck, huh? I haven't touched it since what happened a year ago when CraftyCorn sacrificed herself… I never wanted to play again… But…"

CatNap looked at KickinChicken and his Blackwing Armor Master.

"He's starting this as always, so I'm going to make sure that he regrets crossing paths with CatNap." He said,

CatNap sets a monster in Face-Down Defense Position and sets a Trap Card face-down in the same column as the monster.

"I set a monster and a card face down and end my turn." He said,

DogDay and KickinChicken were confused and surprised.

"What was that?!" KickinChicken shouted, "Did you not wanna show me your strategy?!"

"I'd rather wait." CatNap replied,

"Pfft! "I'd rather wait." Well, you're just gonna drag this duel on then, huh? Fine! It's my turn!"

Turn 3. CatNap: 4000. KickinChicken: 4000.

"Draw!" KickinChicken shouted as he drew a new card and smiled. "Alright, let's get down to business!"

KickinChicken Normal Summoned another "Blackwing" monster, this time being "Blackwing - Zephyros The Elite" in ATK Points with 1600 ATK Points.

"I Summoned Blackwing - Zephyros The Elite in ATK Mode!" He said, "And thanks to Black Whirlwind, I can add another Blackwing monster with ATK points less than Zephyros."

KickinChicken adds another copy of "Gale The Whirlwind" from his deck to his hand. The deck was shuffled again.

"Alright, time for Battle!" He said,

"Uh-oh, battle!" DogDay shouted,

The Battle Phase was started as KickinChicken pointed Blackwing Armor Master to the face-down monster.

"Armor Master, go attack his monster that he cowardly set!" He shouted,

Blackwing Armor Master shot out feathers from its wings at the face-down monster. It was "Lunalight Blue Cat" as she was then destroyed by battle and sent to CatNap's Graveyard.

"I activated the effect of my Lunalight Blue Cat from my Graveyard." CatNap said, "When she's destroyed, I can Special Summon 1 "Lunalight" monster from my Deck to my field."

"Oh, now you're showing off your Lunalights!" KickinChicken said, "About damn time!"

"Just shut up and let me use my monster's effect!"

"Pfft, fine!"

CatNap smiled.

"You thought I was gonna activate my Blue Cat's effect only, huh?" He wondered, "Wrong! I activate my Trap Card!"

CatNap's face-down card on his side of the field activated! It was "Lunalight Reincarnation Dance!"

"Lunalight Reincarnation Dance!" He shouted,

"What the?!" KickinChicken shouted as he was shocked,

"Yeah, nice one, CatNap!" DogDay shouted,

"When a monster is destroyed, I can add up to 2 "Lunalight monsters from my Deck to my Hand."

CatNap added two "Lunalight" monsters from his Deck to his Hand and showed them to KickinChicken, being "Lunalight Wolf" and "Lunalight Tiger." His Deck was shuffled.

"And now I Special Summon a monster from my Deck with Blue Cat's effect!" He shouted, "And I'll chose Lunalight Emerald Bird!"

CatNap searched in his Deck to then Special Summon "Lunalight Emerald Bird" in Defense Position with 1000 DEF Points. His Deck was shuffled again.

"Damn, finally you're showing your strategy, buddy!" KickinChicken said,

"Stop calling me buddy." CatNap said, "We're never friends after what she did to save us."

"Heh, whatever floats your boat, CatNap!"

"Now, I activate my Emerald Bird's effect. When she's Summoned, I can send a "Lunalight" card from my hand to the graveyard to draw 1 card."

CatNap discarded "Lunalight White Rabbit" from his hand to the graveyard to draw 1 more card, being "Lunalight Crimson Fox."

"Doesn't matter! My Zephyros will still attack your Emerald Bird!" KickinChicken shouted,

Zephyros The Elite then attacked and destroyed Emerald Bird with its sword.

"Now, I set another card face-down." KickinChicken said as he sets a card, "It's your turn now."

Turn 4. CatNap: 4000. KickinChicken: 4000.

CatNap draws a card. He looked at it and smiled at KickinChicken.

"Looks like I've found what I'm looking for." He said, "Time to show you what I can do, Kicken!"

KickinChicken gave out a serious smirk.

"Come on, I'm dying already!" He said,

"With pleasure!" CatNap replied as he played a Spell Card, "I activate the Spell Card, Lightning Vortex!"

Lightning Vortex was activated. CatNap discarded "Lunalight Crimson Fox" to the graveyard.

"By discarding 1 card, all face-up monsters you control are destroyed!" He shouted,

Lightning strikes down at Zephyros The Elite and Armor Master, destroying them.

"No! You little piece of crap!" KickinChicken shouted,

"I'm not done yet!" CatNap shouted as he played another Spell Card, "I activate the Spell Card, Luna Light Perfume!"

Luna Light Perfume was activated.

"With this, I can Special Summon back a Lunalight monster from my Graveyard!" He said, "Resurrect, Lunalight Emerald Bird!"

Lunalight Emerald Bird was Special Summoned back in Defense Position with 1000 DEF Points.

"And once again, Emerald Bird's effect!" CatNap continued as he discarded "Lunalight Kaleido Chick", "I discard a Lunalight card and draw a new one."

"Keep it going, CatNap!" DogDay hollered with excitement,

CatNap then shows two Pendulum monsters from his hand, being Lunalight Tiger and Lunalight Wolf.

"Now, I'll use Scale 5 Lunalight Tiger and Scale 1 Lunalight Wolf to set the Pendulum Scale!" He said as he activates the two Pendulum monsters in the far left and far right parts of his Spell and Trap Zones to activate the Pendulum Scale, "And with this, I can Pendulum Summon monsters with Levels ranging from 2 to 4!"

KickinChicken chuckled a bit.

"And then what? You're gonna Pendulum Summon?" He wondered,

"I'm not gonna make that same mistake anymore." CatNap replied, "I'm doing something different to help me win this duel!"

KickinChicken was shocked.

"Say what?" He said,

"I activate Lunalight Tiger's effect from my Pendulum Zone!" CatNap shouted, "With this, I can Special Summon a Lunalight monster from Graveyard, but it can't attack and its effects are negated!"

CatNap Special Summoned Lunalight Crimson Fox from his graveyard in Defense Position with 600 DEF points.

"And that will be Lunalight Crimson Fox!" He shouted,

"Oh what are you doing now?!" KickinChicken said,

"Watch! You wanted me to show off my skills, huh? Well here it is!"

Lunalight Wolf's effect in Pendulum Zone activates.

"Now for Lunalight Wolf's effect!" CatNap shouted, "I banish Lunalight Crimson Fox from my field and Lunalight White Rabbit from my Graveyard as Fusion Materials!"

"Fusion Materials?!" KickinChicken shouted,

Lunalight Crimson Fox from the field and Lunalight White Rabbit from the graveyard are banished as Fusion Materials.

"Dance under the moonlight as the brand new beautiful beast you are!" CatNap chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

A Fusion Monster was summoned to CatNap's field.

"Come forth, Level 7, Lunalight Cat Dancer!" He shouted,

Lunalight Cat Dancer was in Attack Position with 2400 ATK Points.

"Not bad…" KickinChicken said, "Not bad at all…"

"Well I appreciate it." CatNap said, "And now get ready for Battle!"

"Oh crap."

Battle Phase.

"Lunalight Cat Dancer, attack!" CatNap shouted,

Lunalight Cat Dancer started to go towards KickinChicken.

"And before my Lunalight Cat Dancer can attack, it has an effect upon declaring one!" CatNap said, "You take 100 points of damage!"

A purple glow started to hit KickinChicken as he lost 100 Life Points. He now has 3900 Life Points.

"And now for the big one!" CatNap shouted, "Cat Dancer will now deal 2400 points of damage to you from its attack!"

Lunalight Cat Dancer kicked KickinChicken in his face, dealing 2400 points of damage to him. He now has 1500 Life Points.

"Damn, I'm dead meat now…" KickinChicken said,

"It's your turn." CatNap said,

"My turn?"

"Yes, go."

Turn 5. CatNap: 4000. KickinChicken: 1500.

"I draw!" KickinChicken said as he drew a card and grunted, "I activate the effect of Zephyros The Elite from my Graveyard!"

KickinChicken returns Black Whirlwind to his hand.

"By returning a card I control, I can bring him back to my field!" He said, "So resurrect, Zephyros The Elite!"

Blackwing - Zephyros The Elite was Special Summoned back to the field in Defense Position with 1000 DEF Points.

"But there's another cost." KickinChicken said as another purple glow affected him, "I take 400 points of damage afterwards."

KickinChicken now has 1100 Life Points.

"And now I play a face-down Trap Card!" He shouted as a Trap Card was activated, "Icarus Attack!"

CatNap and DogDay gasped.

"Remember this card, CatNap?" KickinChicken said with a smirk, "Well good!"

Zephyros The Elite was tributed by the effect of Icarus Attack.

"By tributing a Winged Beast monster I control, I can destroy 2 cards on the field!" KickinChicken said, "So your Cat Dancer and Emerald Bird will go bye-bye!"

Lunalight Cat Dancer and Lunalight Emerald Bird were then destroyed by Icarus Attack.

"Well this sucks." CatNap said,

"Sure as hell does!" KickinChicken said,

"But I still got Emerald Bird's effect to activate, which lets me brings back a Level 4 or lower "Lunalight" monster from my Graveyard with a different name!"

Lunalight Blue Cat was brought back in Defense Position with 1200 DEF Points.

"And that will be Lunalight Blue Cat!" CatNap said,

KickinChicken sighed frustratingly.

"Still walling up, huh?" He said, "Cool! I reactivate Black Whirlwind from my hand again!"

KickinChicken then Normal Summoned another Gale The Whirlwind.

"And I Normal Summoned another Gale The Whirlwind!" He said, "And I search off of Black Whirlwind!"

KickinChicken searches for "Blackwing - Gofu The Vague Shadow" from his Deck and adds it to his hand. His deck shuffles.

"Battle!" KickinChicken shouted as it is now the Batrle Phase, "Now attack Blue Cat, Gale!"

Gale The Whirlwind slashes Blue Cat to the Graveyard.

"Blue Cat's effect activates!" CatNap shouted, "I Special Summoned another Lunalight monster from my deck! And I'll choose Lunalight Wolf!"

CatNap Special Summoned another Lunalight Wolf. His deck shuffled. KickinChicken was getting frustrated.

"Grrrr, go ahead and end this duel already!" He said, "I don't know where you get lucky all of a sudden!"

"So is it the end of your turn?" CatNap wondered,

"Yes, I end my turn! Go!"

Turn 6. CatNap: 4000. KickinChicken: 1100.

CatNap draws.

"You made one mistake during this duel, KickinChicken." He said,

"What mistake?!" KickinChicken shouted,

"You always push through first before taking things nice and slow. Which is why I did that for something big to end this duel!"

"Wh-What are you–"

"--I activate the effect of Luna Light Perfume from my Graveyard!"

Luna Light Perfume was banished from the Graveyard.

"By banishing it from the Graveyard and discarding a card from my hand…" CatNap said as he discarded another "Lunalight Tiger" from his hand, "I can add another Lunalight monster from my deck to my hand."

CatNap added another Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his deck to his hand. His deck shuffled.

"Now I Normal Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick!" He said as he does so,

Lunalight Kaleido Chick was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1400 ATK Points.

"And now I activate Kaleido Chick's effect!" CatNap said, "By sending a Lunalight monster from my Deck or Extra Deck to the Graveyard, Kaleido Chick's name will become the name of that monster sent to the Graveyard by its effect!"

"Did you also mention your Extra Deck?!" KickinChicken shouted,

"Damn right I did! So I decided to send a different Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard!"

CatNap shows "Lunalight Panther Dancer"

"And that will be Lunalight Panther Dancer!" He said as he sents it to the Graveyard and then shuffled his Deck, "Now Lunalight Kaleido Chick's name is now Lunalight Panther Dancer! Which is where Lunalight Wolf effect activates in the Pendulum Zone!"

Lunalight Kaleido Chick as Lunalight Panther Dancer from the field, Lunalight Tiger and Lunalight Blue Cat from the Graveyard were banished as Fusion Materials.

"3 materials this time?!" KickinChicken shouted,

"Be reborn as a powerful beast in beauty under the full moon!" CatNap chanted, "Fusion Summon! Shine forward, Level 10, Lunalight Leo Dancer!"

Lunalight Leo Dancer was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3500 ATK Points.

"Oh, my, God." KickinChicken said, "I'm screwed, aren't I?"

"Of course, because I also activate Kaleido Chick's effect when it is banished!" CatNap replied, "This turn, you cannot activate cards or effects during the Battle Phase!"

"N-No way!"

"And also, Lunalight Leo Dancer cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects."

"Oh that's just bullcrap."

"Life can be bullcrap."

"You little–"

"--Now for the Battle Phase!

The Battle Phase started. Lunalight Leo Dancer raised her sword up.

"Lunalight Leo Dancer! Attack Gale The Whirlwind and end this Duel!" CatNap shouted,

Lunalight Leo Dancer used her sword to slash Gale The Whirlwind and created a blast that almost made KickinChicken lose balance.

"DAMN YOU!!!" KickinChicken shouted as his Life Points reaches Zero!

KickinChicken now has 0 Life Points. CatNap won the Duel.

"No way! CatNap won!" DogDay shouted with excitement, "And he didn't take a single point of damage!"
