Chapter 4: Trials and Ties Back to Reality

Eleonore (Leo) carefully tucked away the * photo of her husband, Steve Fox, with her deceased mother, Emma Kliesen. She felt a mix of happiness at having found it and sadness knowing she couldn't share it with Steve, who despised his past as NT01. As she brushed her long blonde hair, memories flooded her mind, taking her back to the day she first met Steve.

[Flashback]

The graveyard was quiet, the only sound was the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. Eleonore approached her mother's grave with a bouquet of fresh flowers, only to find a blonde man standing there. Startled, she inquired, "Who are you?"

The man turned to face her, his expression a mix of surprise and sorrow. "I'm Steve Fox... And you?"

Leo, gazing at her mother's gravestone, replied, "Her daughter."

Recognition dawned on Steve's face. "You're Emma Kliesen's daughter!"

Leo looked closely. "I remember you... aren't you the kid from the picture next to my mom?."

Steve's gaze softened, his voice heavy with emotion. "Yes... Your mother risked her life saving me... I owe her and your family a debt." And so, from that day forward, they forged a bond, united in their shared loss and determination.

[End of Flashback]

Her train of thought was interrupted as Steve suddenly grabbed her shoulder from behind.

"How's Steve Jr. doing?" he asked, a warm smile gracing his lips as he turned to face her.

Eleonore (Leo) chuckled softly, blushing at the sudden contact. "You're early. ..He's doing well."

Excitement sparkled in Steve's eyes. "When's our little champ due to arrive?"

Eleonore (Leo) rolled her eyes affectionately. "I don't know if I have the *pregnancy brain or you, love, I already told you this morning. He's due in three weeks." *(She refers to the fact that during pregnancy some women experience memory problems, poor concentration, and absentmindedness)

Steve's eyes widened in shock. "What! Already?"

she nodded, leaning into his embrace. "Maybe even earlier."

Steve grinned, his love for his growing family evident in every word. "Can't wait to meet him!"

After visiting Xiaoyu, Zafina made her way back to the airport, feeling the weight of her endless quest for her family pressing down on her. She realized she needed a break from the constant search, from the never-ending cycle of chasing shadows and whispers.

As she sat in the airport lounge, lost in her thoughts, her phone buzzed with a message. It was from Claudio, a man who had been a steadfast ally in her journey, always ready to lend a helping hand whenever she needed it.

Zafina's eyes widened in surprise. "What, Claudio?" she murmured to herself, tapping on the message to read it.

The message appeared: "Greetings, Ms. Zafina. I have been wondering if you aren't too occupied, as I require assistance with a matter."

Zafina sighed, torn between her longing for a break and her gratitude for Claudio's unwavering support. Despite his own duties and obligations, Claudio had consistently stood by her side, even journeying to her homeland in pursuit of answers.

Resigned, Zafina composed a response, her fingers hovering over the keys. Finally, she typed out a reply, informing Claudio that she would be in Italy in two days' time and would be available to assist him then.

Jin and Xiaoyu had returned to Yakushima, seeking refuge in the quiet sanctuary of their home. The air was crisp and clean, the gentle rustle of leaves a soothing melody in the stillness of the night.

Jin watched Xiaoyu tenderly tucking baby Jun into bed, and then he whispered, "Xiaoyu..come here."

Xiaoyu nodded, her eyes meeting his with a mixture of warmth and concern. They settled in the living room, the soft glow of lamplight casting long shadows across the walls as they began to talk.

Jin, solemnly: "Xiaoyu, we have to go back."

Xiaoyu, resigned: "I knew you were going to say that... But when?"

Jin's gaze was troubled, his voice tinged with urgency. "As soon as we can. It's not safe here. I don't want the kids to know." Xiaoyu nodded in understanding, her thoughts already racing ahead to the challenges they would face.

"Let's talk about it," she said, her eyes meeting his with unwavering resolve.

Jin: "If you're not comfortable, we don't have to..."

Xiaoyu, with determination: "Jin, she possessed the same devil gene as you and your father, (describing her) she was a young woman with a petite build... [She continues describing.]

Jin, puzzled: "I don't understand… where did she get it from!"

Xiaoyu, practical: "... I guess we should contact your uncle, Lars Alexandersson...He might have insight that could assist us."

And so, as they made plans for the journey ahead, their hearts heavy with the weight of the burdens they carried, they found solace in the strength of their bond, a beacon of hope in the darkness that threatened to engulf them.

Asuka and Lili stood in the quiet solitude of their dojo, the air thick with the sound of their labored breaths as they sparred with one another. The wooden sticks clattered against each other, the rhythmic sound a testament to the years of training and discipline that had brought them to this moment.

Lili's voice cut through the silence, her words laced with mischief as she teased, "So, what do you think of the red-haired guy?"

Asuka's brow furrowed in confusion. "Who...?"

Lili's laughter echoed through the room: "Don't play dumb, Asuka. I'm talking about Hwoarang."

Asuka "Oh... Well, I don't know he's jin rival so I guess he's strong"

Lili stopped abruptly, her gaze fixing on Asuka with a knowing look. "Oh, come on now! Wasn't he cute?"

Asuka's eyes widened in surprise, she realized Lili's intent. "Oh, no, no... Not at all."

Lili sighed "Oh, I give up. Anyways, I hired someone to train us! What do you say?"

Asuka's eyes widened in surprise, her curiosity piqued. "But I thought I was your mentor!"

Lili's smile widened into a mischievous grin. "Darling, we both need a real mentor a stronger one to help us improve our skills.

Asuka uninterested "Whatever…(then turns): When is he arriving?"

Lily With an evil smile: "Ohh, soon. Very soon."
