I do not own Trolls or Trolls World Tour or Trolls Band Together or any of the characters in the franchise or the songs! And I especially don't own any of the songs I use from the movie or any other song I pick out in general! I also don't own the characters of Trollstopia! The only thing I do own are my O.C.s Melody Song, McJagger, Buckaroo, Stereo, and Twilight Tidepool; I.M. Rally owns her O.C. Aggie Galido, and Cheah owns his O.C. Finn Okazaki Tidepool. Now, strap in, ladies and gentlemen, and let's get on with the show!
In the metallic ice cream house, Poppy and Viva were still continuing their conversation. Both were laughing after Poppy had shared with her a funny joke that Biggie had told her about a week ago.
"And that's why you don't throw confetti while going down a twisty slide," Poppy commented as Viva clutched her ribs, laughing, while saying, "Oh my Troll, that is so good! I'll have to share that joke with some of the Putt-Putt Trolls; they'll get a kick out of it."
Poppy then said, "So I was thinking about getting more into reading short stories and essays instead of full novels. I mean, novels are fun to read, but short stories are easier to follow and take less time to read."
"Ooh, I love that for you," Viva replied before she got up, heading towards her extensive shelf to go grab something.
While she did that, as Poppy was enjoying every minute of the company in catching up with Viva, there were still a lot of things that Poppy wanted to talk to her about regarding what happened involving why Viva and the Putt-Putt Trolls were separated and lived here instead of Pop Village. With this in mind, she commented to Viva, "But, um, but-just to circle back real quick, I still have a million questions about what happened."
Viva started to head towards a tall ladder that could move around like the ones at the library, saying as she started to scale up the first step, "Well, feel free to ask me the first question that comes to mind."
Poppy eagerly kicked her feet while she tried to think of something to ask first, asking, "Ok, so, for starters, how did you end up here in the golf course? Didn't you live in the Troll Tree with the other Pop Trolls? With Dad and...Mom"?
Viva made the ladder move over to another shelf, where she grabbed a large dark pink lollipop while replying back with, "I used to live at the Troll Tree; I was there when you were born, and you were so cute, kinda like you are now, only teensier and weensier and-,"
However, a new thought came into her mind, interrupting her current explanation before she eagerly asked, "Ooh, do you want to make candy necklaces that we never finish because we eat all the candy?"
Just the sound of the idea of doing a creative art project with her sister while also sharing the common trait of a sweet tooth with Viva made Poppy first smile and reply happily, "Obviously!"
However, while the idea of making candy necklaces was enticing, Poppy was still very curious about getting answers as to how she was just finding out about Viva now after so many years of growing up without even having knowledge of having a sibling. Plus, she was wondering about what Viva meant when she said she used to live at the Troll tree and told Viva while she watched her grab a small green candy dispenser, "But, Veev, I'm just gonna need you to focus here and, and tell me everything. I mean, why am I only learning about you now? What happened? If you were with me from the day I was born, why are you living here and not with the other Pop Trolls"?
Viva picked up the candy dispenser and replied, mimicking a robotic voice while expelling a small pink hard candy from it, "We got accidentally separated," before saying normally, "And I've lived here ever since; the end."
Now, under regular circumstances, Poppy would accept that as an answer and not question any further, but Poppy had noticed something in Viva's behavior that made her become a bit...perplexed. While Viva's energy was on a whole 'nother level that she could relate to, there was something a little...off..about her energy. If anything, Viva appeared to be acting a little "too" energetic; moreso, it almost appeared to be...forced, and Poppy has been dating Branch long enough to tell the difference between genuine joy and forced awkward joy.
Before she could question Viva about it, Viva quickly changed the subject, asking Poppy, "Wanna do candy toe rings next," and skipped over to a small candy pile that was near the couch to start making some candy bling.
Now, that really threw Poppy off; firsthand, she could see that this subject appeared to be too difficult for Viva to talk about. For whatever reason, whether emotional, mental, or physical, it seemed to be influencing the way that Viva was now acting in trying to change the subject and drop the current matter quickly. She knew that this seemed to be something that Viva didn't want to talk about it full, but answers were needed. While watching Viva go grab some candy pieces, she asked curiously, "Uh, accidentally separated"?
Back over with Branch, he, John Dory, and Bruce were listening to Clay, who started to explain to them the reason why Viva was so reluctant to discuss the reason for how she, he, and the other Putt-Putt Trolls ended up here. He softly whispered, in case someone overheard him, "Viva doesn't like to talk about it; it's too painful for her, but she's been here ever since the night of the great Bergen attack."
While John Dory and Bruce looked visibly confused, Branch appeared to be surprised by this since he knew exactly what Clay was talking about, and at the same time, he could add it up as to why it appeared to be uncomfortable for the Putt-Putt Trolls to hear the word "Bergen" because it possibly reminded them of that fateful event.
Cautiously, yet curious, Branch asked, "You mean...that night when we made our escape from the Troll Tree in Bergen Town"?
Clay nodded solemnly in response, with Bruce, now shocked to be hearing this, asking Branch, since he had already left long before the night of the Bergen Town escape, "Woah, how did everyone escape"?
Branch replied, "In the months before our escape, King Peppy and some of the stronger Trolls in the tribe worked together to dig an escape route from under the roots of the tree. Then, on the night of the Trollstice, just before the Bergens could come and eat us, we fled the pods secretly and went down into the tunnels."
"The Bergens soon found that we were missing and tried to hear us out, trying to dig the tunnel routes so they could catch us," Clay added, mentioning, "We had gotten pretty far ahead before they discovered we were gone. But..."
"But what," Branch asked, seeing the saddened look on the middle child's face.
Clay bit his lower lip, fiddling his thumbs nervously, feeling almost unsure if he should reveal what had happened that night to lead to this separation of Trolls. But he also knew that his brothers wanted to know the truth about what had happened.
Back by Viva's house, Viva was making a new candy necklace, placing some colorful candies on a piece of string, humming carefree to herself. Poppy, who still wanted to discuss the matter, asked her, "Viva, are you talking about the night the trolls escaped Bergen Town?"
Hearing that question made Viva freeze slowly, feeling a small shiver of fear down her spine from thinking about some really harrowing memories regarding the day that the Trolls made the daring escape. She tried not to focus on that and kept her gaze on the candy necklace she started making while staying with her tone of voice, trying to appear dismissive, "Oh, yeah-yeah, I guess it was that night."
Poppy could tell that Viva was feeling very conflicted about this. As much as she didn't want Viva to be too wound up to talk about it, she knew that from experience, talking about whatever's troubling you is effective in not only helping troubled minds understand better but also helping them feel better and right now, Poppy knew that this was something that Viva could use.
As Viva continued to hum softly while making the candy necklace, Poppy placed a reassuring hand on Viva's back and said, "Hey, you can talk to me about this; I know about that night, and if something happened, you could tell me about it."
Viva remained quiet, but her hands became still for a moment as she replied, "I...I can't."
Poppy was about to ask why, but Viva quickly interrupted her, saying, "It's not that I don't want to, but that night was really hard on everyone. But what happened next... you wouldn't understand. I can't even bring myself to talk about it without the guilt hurting."
Poppy commented curiously, "Guilt? What do you mean, Viva"?
Viva looked up at her little sister, and for a moment, Poppy could see a glimpse of fear in Viva's eyes, one that showed that what happened back then must've been terrifying for Viva, and even harder for her to cope with. Adding in the many years of her and these Putt-Putt Trolls being separated from the rest of the tribe and living out here isolated for so long, something severe must've gone down that day, especially since Poppy was but only a baby the day they escaped, and wanted to know more about how Viva and the Putt-Putt Trolls arrived here.
Poppy spoke to her older sister, telling her, "I can try to understand, but I'll definitely listen, Viva. I'm your sister, and even though we have just reunited, I still care a lot about you. Whatever happened, you're safe to tell me. I know that Dad probably knows about it too, but sugar, he doesn't really do well with sharing secrets. Let me share some of the pain you're feeling."
Viva almost wanted to just straight-up ugly cry in front of Poppy, feeling emotional on both the positive aspect, where she felt touched that Poppy was so willing to hear her out, but also on the negative aspect because she didn't want to expose her sister about the dangers that she and her people had to face that night to survive and avoid getting killed. However, she also knew that it'd only be a matter of time before Poppy found out about it either way, and what kind of big sister she would be if she couldn't even tell Poppy about how she ended up separated.
So, with a heavy heart, wringing in both fear and guilt, Viva told Poppy, "Ok. So...this is what happened..."
As Viva told Poppy about it, Clay told his brothers the same story about that night. His facial expression was grim and frightened. The middle child said sorrowfully, "Not everyone made it out of that tree."
Flashback to many years ago...
Over in the tunnel that night of the great escape, some of the Trolls were seen trying to run for their lives, escaping the grabby claws and hands of the Bergen soldiers and hungry Bergens that pursued them.
Peppy, back when he was king at the time, was doing his best to try and help as many Trolls as he could, trying to get them towards the other end of the tunnel so they could rejoin the other Trolls that were ahead of them.
But in the back of the escape tunnels, there were some unlucky Trolls who were unfortunately caught and tossed harshly into metal cages back onto the Earth's surface, screams of pure terror and fright screeching among them. One of those unlucky Trolls was Clay, who screamed as he got caught and dropped into a locked cage. The frightful expression on his face could only show the terror he felt from seeing the hungry Bergens star down at the caught Trolls.
"Some of them got trapped by Bergens; they were this close to getting eaten…" Clay explained off-screen as it showed a few more Trolls who were plucked off the branches of the Troll tree before being placed into the cages that they had. The Trolls captured were scared for their lives, worried that they were gonna be eaten before their king would realize that they had gotten left behind.
"Until Viva and some of the other trolls fought them off," Clay's off-screen voice explained as it then showed a loud shout being emitted,d which made the Bergens look around, wondering who or what was shouting like that. What caught their eyes was what looked like a group of Trolls that were charging courageously at the Bergens, holding widdled weapons high to fight back.
Leading the small group of Trolls who were brave enough to fight back was 12-year-old Viva, who, at the time, was following her father's leading footsteps, making sure that no Troll was left behind. At this age, a lot of her features were the same, although her gold-blonde wavy hair was a lot wilder and crazier back then than it was now. She wore a moss-green one-strap leotard that had a light green vine strap with a light blue flower on it, the same flower as the one on Poppy's baby headband, and she also had a band-aid on her left leg that covered a healing cut, and a wooden staff made out of a tree stick. The final piece that differentiated Viva's younger self from how she was now was the signature Hug bracelet on Viva's right wrist, which now belonged to Poppy.
Now, make no mistake; Viva was absolutely terrified about facing the Bergens. She had witnessed them eat a lot of poor, innocent Trolls, and some of her old childhood friends were gone because of them. But, as her father always said, "No Troll left behind," and she was NOT going to let these dangerous behemoths hurt or kill any more innocent lives ever again! The Trolls who followed her shared the same motives and followed the lead of the Pop king's eldest child.
Viva and her band of Troll warriors charged at the group of Bergens who had caught the Trolls who were left behind, stabbing their feet with sharp rocks, making them roar in pain and drop the cages. Some of the Trolls in her group began to use the same stones to break the locks on the cages, while others used sticks, their hair, and some general combat to fight off the Bergens. Viva leaped up and punched a few Bergens in the face, kicking a few others away, before she leaped in front of one of the cages and used her hair to tear the lock off. Inside the cage she faced were a few scared Pop Trolls and Clay himself, who was surprised to see Viva acting bravely and daring to save him along with the other Trolls.
After all of the cages were unlocked and the captured Trolls were free and able to run out, young Viva shouted, "Come on, Trolls! Muevete, let's go," and led the escape party over to the tunnels and escape before the Bergens could recover and recapture them again.
Hopping into the hole, Clay stuck behind, helping Viva man the exit and make sure everyone was inside before hopping inside himself, and following the group.
However, as they ran into the tunnel, it became unsteady and soon started to collapse on them.
Viva used her stick staff to swat some of the falling dirt away, but it wasn't enough, and the force of one of the dirt pieces knocked her hug bracelet off, making it fall onto the ground before it got trapped behind a wall of dirt.
"But by then…the tunnels had collapsed, and they were cut off from the rest,"Clay explained off-screen as the flashback then showed young Viva leading the escape party down the other end of the tunnel, hoping to find some shelter on the other side. She stopped and looked back solemnly at the caved-in wall, feeling worried for her father and her sister, before she continued to lead the escape group to freedom.
End of flashback...
Over by the outskirts of Bergen Town, Peppy was pacing about, thinking about something that was racking through his mind.
His pacing caught the attention of Prince D, who asked him, "Hey, King P, you feeling ok"?
King Peppy faced the Funk/Hip-Hop prince, telling him, "Oh, hello, Prince Darnell. I'm doing...as ok as I can be."
Prince D could see the conflicted look on Poppy's father's face, and asked him, "You looked worried, wanna talk about it"?
King Peppy nodded and told the Funk Troll, "You see, earlier, when Poppy was talking about what it'd be like if she had a sister, it...brought back some very...troubling memories."
Prince D listened as he asked, "What kind of troubling memories"?
"You see..." King Peppy started to say before he looked around in case anyone else was listening, before telling Prince D, "Poppy did have a sister, actually."
Prince D was surprised to hear this but didn't say anything at first. He wanted to let King Peppy continue to talk and air his troubles and trauma related to this since what he was revealing appeared to be very significant. King Peppy explained, "Her name was Viva, and she was my eldest daughter before Poppy was born; she was sweet and fun and energetic. She had her mother's profound quickness and sheer determination, and loved to make things. Why, we'd always work on making candy neckl;aces, but could never finish because we kept eating all the candy."
Prince D chuckled, responding with a grin, "Definitely sound like your daughter, and based on what I have seen since meeting Poppy and hearing the stories about her from Cooper, Viva's a splitting image of you."
King Peppy chuckled in response before saying, "Oh yes, definitely."
However, his facial expression grew grim as he then said, "But then, a little while after Poppy was born, came that fateful day that I led my people to freedom as we made our initial escape from Bergen Town. We ran through the tunnels below to get away, and when I heard that some of the others struggled to keep up, I ran back to help them because, as I like to say, "No Troll left behind." I helped as many as I could, but then, I heard the frightful screams of some who got captured by the Bergens' hands. Viva, who was already far ahead with those who could successfully escape, came over and witnessed what I had seen, and she said, "Daddy, we can't let them get eaten." I tried to tell her that there was nothing we could do, but before I could convince her, she took off into the depths of the tunnels, with some of the Trolls who were still there following her, wanting to help."
Prince D took in all of this as King Peppy explained, "That was the last time that I saw her, and as much as I wanted to go after her, the tunnels were about to collapse, and I couldn't stay there long enough to retrieve her before getting separated from the others. And I was now just as worried that everyone else had gotten captured while I was away, so I went back to make sure they were alright while also retrieving fellow Trolls who were struggling. As we almost made it, the tunnels began to collapse, and I threw the Trolls, who I found out about the tunnel in time with the rest of my people, and braced myself. Luckily, the falling dirt only caught my underpants, so I could climb out, but before I did, I turned back to the bridge of the tunnel that was the only source of exit left for the other Trolls...and Viva."
He began to pace again, saying while he did, "I kept screaming, "No troll left behind"! But when I went back in, the tunnels had collapsed, and blocked that area. That's when I found Viva's hug time bracelet on the ground...and I feared the worst that...she was gone. I never saw her again after that."
Prince D understood the kind of grief that King Peppy felt about Viva; back when he was living by himself, Quincy and Essence had told him stories about when he and Cooper were being raised as eggs and that day when the bird came and took Cooper's eggs. While I never got to meet Cooper then since he was missing, I still missed him because, well, he was family. And even apart, that bond doesn't go away."
Meanwhile, at the golf course, Clay told his brothers, continuing to tell the story, "Viva found this old, abandoned Bergen golf course and transformed it into this troll utopia; we formed this little sanctuary of survivors. I added fire exits; she added her heart and soul."
Flashback to many years ago...
Viva and her group of survivors walked through the empty tunnel before they found an exit hole that led them to an area far away from Bergen Town. They climbed out and saw that they were standing by the entrance of an old abandoned golf course, the same one that the Putt-Putt Trolls call home.
The small group, cautious as they were, slowly entered the golf course and looked around, the group eyeing at all of the different golf holes, statues, buildings, etc., within the area.
"What is this place," one of the surviving Trolls asked hesitantly.
"Are we alone here," another Troll asked in fright.
"Will those Bergens find us," another Troll inquired in fear.
Viva saw the scared looks on the survivors' faces, and truth be told, she was scared, too. They were separated from the rest of the tribe, she was separated from her dad, she was separated from her little sister! She was scared something had happened to them! She wanted to go back out and find them, but after facing the Bergens, and now being somewhere very unfamiliar to them, Viva feared that there could be other dangers out there that could be frightful for them to face. And she was NOT mentally prepared to go through another tragic ordeal of possibly losing any more people.
It didn't help that Viva saw the looks the other Trolls were giving her, and those looks were ones that were asking for advice, guidance, and leadership. But what could she do?
Then, a voice spoke up in the crowd, saying, "Hey"!
Everyone turned their heads and saw Clay standing among them, with Clay stepping forward while saying, "We just survived the Bergen's onslaught of Trollstice, and we're right now in a place that looks as rancid as they are. If we're gonna be able to figure out what to do next, what we gotta do is take account safety measures. We gotta be able to defend ourselves in case any Bergens come back here to try and hunt us out."
The sound of that made the survivors all gasp in fright before Viva leaped forward, standing beside Clay while saying, "But we can also make it fun too! I mean, this place has some "unique" charm, and I'm sure that we can make this work for us! We'll find a way to liven this area up, and at the same time, be able to keep those nasty Bergens away"!
The group of survivors all cheered happily while Viva felt a sense of relief that she was able to help at least keep the group encouraged and motivated.
Suddenly, she saw clay come up to her, saying to the female Pop Troll, "Hey, Viva, looks like you got your hands full with them."
Viva nodded, stating, "Oh boy, I do. I don't know the first thing about being a leader; my daddy King Peppy would know how to lead them and make sure that we all stay safe"!
Suddenly, she felt Clay patting her shoulder while commenting, "Hey, hey, hey, it's gonna be alright. It may be hard, but I'm sure that you can be a great leader for these Trolls you saved. Which, by ther way, i almost forgot to say; thank you...for saving my life, and theirs."
Viva felt a little more at ease, replying, "You're welcome. I just couldn't you or these trolls get eaten...even if it meant that we'd be separated from the others. I'm sure that you're probably missing your family right now too."
Clay didn't know how to answer that question exactly, cautiously scratching the back of his head while he said, "Yeah...you can say that i am." Truth be told, he did miss his brothers, except for John Dory, whom he hoped got eaten by either a Bergen or a monster or anything to get that big-headed Troll to realize his selfish errors.
He then told Viva, "You know, it's a big job helping to lead these Trolls. Perhaps maybe i could help take some of the load off for you"?
Viva was surprised to see Clay offering to help her, asking in gratitude/surprise, "You...you'd want to help me"?
"I owe you after you saved my life, so consider it a way of me paying it forward," Clay replied before adding, ""If ya want, I could help you with the fire exits."
"You know about that kind of stuff," Viva asked curiously.
Clay nodded happily, saying, "You betcha I do; I'm a serious Troll, and this guy can handle any serious business that there is. Security, trap setting, you name it, I'll handle it."
Viva was impressed that a fellow Troll could have good knowledge of these kinds of things that could help keep their survivor squad safe. On the other hand, she also thought that the "serious" responsibilities would be very boring to handle, asking Clay, "Are you sure? All that stuff sounds pretty boring to do."
Clay chuckled while saying, "Are you kidding? I NEED a break from being all "fun-like." So this is perfect for me! You can help encourage these Trolls so their spirits are livened up and we can stay strong to keep ourselves safe, and I'll handle all the dull jobs that enhance our safety."
Viva thought about it before saying, "Alrighty then, Mr. Clay, you got yourself a deal," and shook hands with Clay.
Clay happily shook hands with Viva and couldn't be happier that now he was going to have the perfect chance to show that he could be a serious Troll and would do whatever it took to help Viva with their new survivor's home.
End of flashback...
In the ice cream house, Viva stated sadly while continuing to make the candy necklace. "I've thought so many times about leaving, you know, to look for you and Dad, but it's not safe out there. I've seen so many dangerous things that could hurt s or kill us, and...it's just not worth risking our own lives on the line if it means that we'd get pulled away before seeing each other again."
Back in Bergen Town, King Peppy told Prince D, his voice filled with regret and remorse, "I know I should've told Poppy, but my heart was broken. How could I ever tell her that her older sister was gone? I felt like a failure, not just as a king, but as a father. I felt like i could've done so much more to keep her protected and safe and...I couldn't. And it hurt me more having to keep this from Poppy because I knew that if i told her this, she'd be as heartbroken about it as I was."
He looked down sadly while saying, "I feel so guilty keeping this from her for all these years. What do you think I should do"?
Prince D thought about it before saying, "Well, if I'm gonna be honest, man, what you should do is, when Poppy comes back, tell her about Viva. She deserves to know about her sister and what happened."
He added reassuringly, "And if she feels sad about it, then you both can be sad and miss her together. After all, family love runs deep, and sure, Poppy might be a bit upset that you kept this secret for so many years, but she'll understand why, and she'd also understand better the feeling behind it, and she'll find peace of mind about the matter, as will you too, man."
King Peppy looked at Prince D and replied, "Your advice is really appreciated, Prince D; thank you so much."
Prince D nodded and replied, "You're welcome, man, happy to help. Take it from someone who can relate to you on this matter in a lot of ways, if you feel like wanting to talk about it more, I'm down, but it'll feel a lot more significant to talk about it with Poppy too. After all, family takes care of family best."
At the golf course, in Viva's house, Viva was finishing up tying the candy necklace while saying, "But even then, I just couldn't stop feeling so worried about you and Dad and the other Trolls. I missed you terribly, and I was so scared that I'd never see you again. Every time I closed my eyes, I kept picturing Dad getting crushed or you being eaten by a Bergen and..."
Unable to hold it back any longer, Viva sniffled, feeling hot tears build up around her eyes, as she dropped the candy necklace before pulling Poppy into a tight hug. While she didn't break into a sob right away, her choked breaths could be heard, the older sibling trying desperately not to break down, but the tears that began to fall were already giving way, dripping like water from the faucet. She buried her face into Poppy's shoulder, the sounds of her choked breaths that were failing to mask the sobs of sorrow that were pleading to come out.
Poppy, being taken aback by all of this while also feeling a lot of sympathy for her older sister, hugged her in response, letting Viva be vulnerable and let out whatever she was feeling.
Poppy then said, "Let it out, Veevs, I'm here now, and I'm here for you."
Viva, for the first time, in a long time since that fateful night, cried, and she cried hard into Poppy's shoulder, soaking it with her tears, and not once did Poppy let go of her older sister. She knew that this was really traumatic for her to have gone through, and she knew that after getting to be with her again after so many years apart, Viva really needed this.
Once Viva's sobs seemed to have quieted down, Poppy cupped her older sister's cheeks while saying, "I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of this, Viva."
"What do you have to apologize for, Poppy?" Viva tearfully commented, saying while feeling her tears coming down hard, "You were only a baby back then; you didn't know how harsh the world could be yet, and you didn't know that I left to go help the others and-."
Poppy used her thumb to help wipe away the excess tears while telling her, "Hey, hey, listen. It doesn't mean that what you are feeling is invalid at all. I may not have gotten to know you before that day, but I can tell you that even just from standing here right now, I'm seeing such a brave, strong sister, and I'm happy to be related to her."
Those touching words really got to Viva. As much as she felt really honored to see Poppy look up to her so quickly, she still couldn't shake that guilty feeling she had about not being there for Poppy due to the separation and that fear of what could be out there that made it hard for her to feel so courageous to go out there and look for them. Poppy calling her "Brave" almost felt hypocritical, and she felt like a frightened coward when it came to facing what was out there.
Poppy could see that there was more to what Viva was feeling than what she was letting on at the moment, and the Pop queen felt like Viva right now could use a little space to try and recollect herself so she could open up to her again later, telling Viva as she finished the candy necklace, "Okay, I can see that this is clearly a lot for you to take in at the moment, and you can open up about this more later on if you want to; I don't want to force you to tell me anything else that you aren't comfortable telling me yet."
Viva couldn't help but feel a sense of relief in seeing that Poppy was really understanding and letting her be able to open up about her trauma at a steady pace, though it did feel pretty good to let out that cry earlier. She gave Poppy a wavering smile while saying, "Thanks, sis."
"You're welcome, sis," Poppy replied before saying, "Plus, we'll have more time to talk about it and work through this on the way to Mount Rageous as-,"
However, before Poppy could finish that statement, Viva quickly stood up, holding the candy necklace in her hands, "Woah woah woah, what do you mean, "on the way to Mount Rageous"?
Poppy was a little confused, replying, "Well, we gotta head over to Mount Rageous so Branch and his brothers can save Floyd and-,"
Then, Viva interrupted her again, saying at first, sounding surprisingly stern, "Whoa, hold up, no way! I am NOt going to Mount Rageous, and neither are you"!
Viva could feel how tense she got, clenching her right hand into a fist and then letting it go again, breathing in and out through her nose, saying quietly, "Tranquilla, Viva, tranquilla."
Poppy was a little startled seeing her sister act stern, but watched as Viva then relaxed and told Poppy while placing the candy necklace around her, "Sorry about that. What I meant to say is that I am not going to Mount Rageous, and neither are you or your boyfriend or his brothers. As long as you are here with the Putt-Putt Trolls, you STAY with the Putt-Putt Trolls. You're never gonna leave again," before adding to herself, panic and fear in Viva's eyes, "I can't lose you again," before she headed outside, exi9tng through the door.
That left a visibly shaken and startled Poppy standing there, asking as she followed after Viva, "Wait, what was the-What was that last thing? Viva? Viva, wait," as she chased after Viva, hoping to stop here before something drastic happened.
Over in Mixed City, Lizzy was introducing the Normal Trolls to one of her favorite spots in all of Mixed City: the Starswirl Smoothie Shack, a beverage shop that served top-quality, all-natural, hand-made fruit smoothies, packed with nutrition and flavors like one wouldn't believe.
Everyone was each currently sipping on a cup of different flavored smoothies that they picked out, and Lizzy was currently awaiting for her order, with Melody standing beside her.
The one who was running the shop was a male Country/K-Pop Mixed Troll with hurricane-grey chromatic skin, scruffy midnight-black hair with thick bangs that would cover one of his eyes, which were both silver-blue, a light-hazel nose, was bipedal and walked on two hooved legs, and a matching midnight-black horsetail that curled up at the tip, similar to that of the K-Pop's hairstyle. He was seen wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves currently rolled up, a dark blue sleeveless jacket over the shirt that had gold brass buttons, black overalls, with dark brown buckle boots, a dark red bandanna tied around his neck, dark blue knit fingerless gloves, and on top his head, similar to John dory's goggles, was a pair of silver-grey goggles that looked a little more steampunk patterned.
He placed two smoothie cups on the counter, saying, "Heto na; isang Blueberry Bombshell, sobrang agave, at isang Blackberry Blizzard, sobrang ginaw, na may ginutay-gutay na niyog at pine nuts."
Lizzy took the cups while replying to Onyx, "Salamat, Onyx. Ipaalam kay Ophelia ang tungkol sa ballet recital sa susunod na linggo."
Onyx nodded before Lizzy turned towards Melody and gave her one of the smoothie cups, the one with the smoothie called Blueberry Bombshell, and said, "Be prepared to have your tastebuds blown away."
Melody eagerly picked up the cup and slurped the smoothie through the straw, her eyes lit with wonder, as she declared, "This is the GREATEST smoothie I've ever had"!
"We use only the freshest berries that grow in the forest," Lizzy replied while sipping on her smoothie cup, adding, "It's both healthy and delicious."
"Note: do all Mixed Trolls use natural resources around your homeland," Laguna asked curiously.
Lizzy nodded while stating, "Oh yeah; we believe in relishing in the beauty of Mother Nature and repaying it by treating the environment with respect and kindness. We do tree-planting projects, we have a wooden water wheel that filters our water supply; our queen is a huge fan of natural fashion fabrics created from hand-grown plants."
"Ooh," the Trolls commented in awe.
"Ho-wee, y'all got faane agricultural skills 'round here," Buckaroo commented.
Lizzy chuckled while saying, "Well, it's less all agricultural and more gardening/resource benefits, but works hand-in-hand either way."
Just then, there was the sound of revered contemporary music playing, which perked the group's attention as Trolex asked, "Hey-yo, what's making that music"?
They turned their head and, to their surprise, a group of Mixed Trolls of various genre combinations came out and began to do an organized dance routine, which the residential Mixed Trolls watched in awe while the Normal Trolls watched, intrigued as they were impressed to see this firsthand.
"Oh my! What a fascinating dance group," Dante commented, impressed.
"Oh, it's just an old-fashioned street show; Mixed Troll dancers like to come out and perform and entertain the crowd," Lizzy commented while pointing to the Mixed Trolls who were performing a dance routine.
"Y'all, we gotta go see this," Holly declared, with a lot of the Normal Trolls all eagerly agreeing.
"You guys go ahead and see the street show; I'm just gonna catch up with Lizzy a bit," Melody told her friends.
"Don't be too long, Mel; this street show looks awesome," Aggie commented as the Trols went to go stand by the edge of the street so they could watch the street show routine.
This left Melody and Lizzy standing together by the smoothie shack, with Melody curiously asking Lizzy, "So, Lizzy, I have a question I want to ask you. The language, Tag-a-Troll; how come I'm able to understand it despite not being able to speak it"?
Lizzy chuckled and replied, "It's because while you have to learn how to speak it, it's an instincutal language for Mixed Trolls. That means that you biologically are born to understand it, even if you don't speak it. A lot of little kids in Mixed City acquire being able to speak the language as they grow up, learning some terms from their nanay and tatay."
"Nanay and tatay? Wait...you mean their parents? Mom and dad," Melody curiously asked.
Lizzy nodded, saying, "Family terms are usually the first to be learned. Like, for example, ate would be what you the eldest sister, but if you're just saying sister, then it's sorella."
Melody seemed to be understanding as she listened closely, picking up on these words.
Lizzy then added, "And then, the older you get, the more complex terms you learn, like Tumahimik ka."
"So, let me see if I'm getting these words right," Melody said, adding, "Since you're my older sister, the Tag-a-Troll term to call you would be Ate, while just "sister" is sorella..."
"Yes," Lizzy said while nodding.
"Mom and Dad are Nanay and Tatay," Melody clarified.
"Opo," Lizzy replied with another nod, clarifying, "That means yes."
Melody smiled before saying, "And what does Tumahimik ka means"?
Lizzy looked around before whispering it into Melody's ear, making the Pop/Rock Mixed Troll gasp and chuckle, asking, "Woah! Really"?
"Yep. you can use it to tell someone to shut up while not sounding offensive since they'd be too confused to know what you're saying," Lizzy explained while breaking into laughter herself, before adding, "Unless they already know Tag-a-Troll already."
Melody snickered before saying, "I'm SO gonna be using that with Val."
"Say, mind if I now ask something...personal," Melody asked Lizzy while shuffling her foot nervously.
"Sure; unless it's about the story behind the statue without the head I made back at my art studio because that is a whole 'nother can of worms for me to open up," Lizzy responded.
Melody snickered while shaking her head, saying, "No, no, it's not that," before asking, "Back in the forest, when you saw that picture of my egg, while you were freaking out, you said something about "never getting over the guilt of losing me. What did you mean by that"?
That question, in particular, made Lizzy freeze in place. Her right hand clutched onto the smoothie cup tightly as she commented, "Oh, I...did say that."
"Yeah, what's that about," Melody asked curiously.
"Uh," Lizzy replied, rubbing her right arm while saying hesitantly, "Maybe it's best you don't know about it. F-Forget I ever said it. Why don't we go downtown later and-,"
But Melody was firm about finding out, saying while stepping in front of Lizzy, "Liz, tell me what happened. I've been wanting to find out how I ended up in the Troll Kingdom for so long; what happened that got my egg lost"?
Lizzy bit her lip, saying, "no, you really shouldn't know, Melody. Stop asking."
"I can't stop asking," Melody rebutted, pointing out, "I want to know; why won't you tell me"?
"BECAUSE YOU'LL HATE ME FOR THE REASON WHY," Lizzy angrily shouted back, making Melody step back in surprise.
Lizzy saw how Melody reacted when she got angry and pointed out, "See? If I tell you, you're gonna be scared of me and hate me for life and never want to be around me ever again"!
"I could never hate you, Liz," Melody tried to point out.
"You don't know that," Lizzy argued back, shouting, "You don't know about that storm! you don't know about the river! you don't know how...I got people hurt...and it's my fault."
Lizzy hugged her arms, her grip on the smoothie cup loosening as she looked away from Melody, who had a concerned/worried look toward Lizzy.
Lizzy let out a sad sigh before she started to explain, "That night, there was a really bad rainstorm. Our family was on a picnic in the forest when the rain started, and it made everything soggy and slippery. We were taking our regular walkthrough home, and mom had you in the stroller. I wanted to push you, but...I ran too fast in the puddles, and before I knew it..."
Melody listened closely as Lizzy began to explain the story behind how Melody's egg wound up lost and what happened on that night of the storm.
Flashback to many years ago...
The rain howled as loud as the Growlbeasts did, the wind whipping the trees and plants like feathers along the currents, all while thunder and lightning loomed in the sky.
When she was about 4, Lizzy was pushing the stroller that had Melody's egg in it. As she ran playfully, she splashed in the puddles, making water rise and douse her and the egg, while the girls' parents were doing their best to keep up with the Mixed Troll.
"Woohoo," Lizzy shouted as she pushed the stroller, saying, "You're gonna splashing in these for real life once you're born, baby sister! I'll teach you all about swimming and we'll play water tag"!
Suddenly, Lizzy tripped and fell, the force of her falling forward knocking the stroller from her grip and pushing it down where she was walking. The mixed Troll saw the runaway stroller and screamed, running after it while saying, "Come back"!
She chased after the stroller, though her little legs made it hard to keep up; she didn't stop running, using the slipperiness of the water to gain some speed before she saw that she was close enough to the stroller that she could try to grab it.
She made a leap of faith and lunged forward, grabbing the stroller by its handles and pulling it up so that it'd stop rolling. Unfortunately, it was angled too far up, and the altitude at which she pulled launched the egg up into the air, soaring passed the raindrops, the trees, the streaks of lightning in the sky.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO," Lizzy shouted as she saw the egg in the air begin its scary descent back to the ground. Surprisingly, it landed on a tree leaf that gave it a small bounce and a softer landing spot. Then, it floated down towards the river, landing on a piece of driftwood that held it firmly as it began to float along the rough currents of the water.
"Don't worry, sister, I'm coming," Lizzy shouted as she ran over to the edge of the river, near where the driftwood was floating by, but when she saw how sharp the water was rising and how rough the rapids were becoming, Lizzy flinched in fright, stepping back in fear. She knew she couldn't drown since she was half-Techno, but even her breathing abilities couldn't match to the power and danger of water when it was rough and edgy, especially with that kind of power putting so much pressure on you underwater that can make it hard to swim or breathe without pain. Seeing the egg rock back and forth on the driftwood made Lizzy really scared, and she felt way too frightened even to step foot in that river to try and rescue the egg.
Suddenly, she heard a splash and saw that her parents had dove into the water and swam in hot pursuit of the runaway egg. Frightened, Lizzy ran along the edge of the river, following her parents, who tried so desperately to rescue the egg in time.
Lizzy ran and stayed behind a tree that was near the edge of the river as she watched her parents almost be able to reach the egg in time.
Just then, Lizzy saw something blink in the sky. She immediately recoiled back, narrowly avoiding a lighting strike that hit the tree, causing it to crack and fall down. Lizzy could only watch in horror as she saw the tree fall and, while the egg on the driftwood passed by it, her parents...weren't so lucky.
Lizzy covered her eyes and could only listen to the bone-cracking and the tree-thumping sound that followed afterward, peeking only to recoil in fear at the sight of the water under the tree caked in blood red and the egg on the driftwood floating away, all while Lizzy was way too scared to be able to do anything about it.
With what was left of her confidence, she scrambled to her feet and ran back to Mixed City, screaming in fear and calling for the nearest form of help—even though it was already too late.
End of flashback...
Melody couldn't help but feel sympathy for Lizzy; given the circumstances of what happened during the storm and how scared Lizzy must've felt when she saw her egg roll down the hill and land softly onto the wooden platform that floated in the river water, that was rising high and acting dangerous enough as it was, who wouldn't want to run away in fear? Especially after seeing your own parents try to jump in and save it only to get pulled under and be crushed under a fallen tree?
Melody saw how emotional Lizzy had become, seeing that the Pop/Techno had dropped her smoothie cup, and it had spilled onto the ground, but she could care less as she was trying to fight back tears, both her hands clenched into fists, and her tailfins twisted to show the frustration/guilt that racked through her.
Lizzy sniffled, saying while she kept looking down, her gaze away from her little sister, "I could've done something. I could've jumped in to save your egg, I could've pulled my parents out, but I was too scared to do anything. I couldn't get myself caught up in that kind of conflict, and I paid the price for it with the loss of my parents and my baby sister."
The Pop/Techno Mixed Troll sniffled again, saying, "I never forgave myself for that night. How could I? I was such a cowaerd, and it resulted in the loss of my family. I'm awful. I'm such an awful Troll. I'm..." Before she looked up, she expected to see Melody upset, angry, or even scared of her. But what did she see?
Melody was not angry, sad, scared, or anything else. Nothing seemed to change her feelings about her big sister, except for the fact that he felt sympathetic for her and could understand exactly how she felt.
Melody offered Lizzy a smile and opened her arms up, wrapping them around the Pop/Techno Mixed Troll.
Lizzy was taken aback, and she didn't move or say anything. Her eyes only widened in surprise, and her tail feathers untied, becoming loose and free again. She felt her tears fall while she asked, "What...Why?"
Melody commented, "I feel you, you know that, sis? I get it; that feeling of helplessness when you're scared to take a risk to help and...you feel regret for not being able to do anything? Especially when you lose those you love...and you are left feeling like there was so much you coudl've done that just...was out of your control? I get it much more than you think."
Lizzy was speechless, her arms seemingly moving on their own as they wrapped up around Melody, who continued to talk, saying, "I could never hate you for that. That was a long time ago, I wasn't even born yet, and that rainstorm just messed up a lot of things, made things slippery, so you can't blame yourself, Lizzy. you were taking caution in trying to stay safe, and the fact that you never stopped worrying about me just shows how much you care."
Lizzy sniffled and felt her tears fall fast while Melody said, "The tree that fell and...killed our parents, that was the fault of lightning, not you. You couldn't have stopped it even if you could control electricity, so you can't blame yourself for their deaths or my disappearance. I get that you were scared, and risking your own life can be really daunting, so... I understand how you felt that night. But, you know what really matters"?
Melody kept her hug grip firm while saying, "I'm here now, and I love you; you're my older sister, and the fact that even now, you still care about me, shows me who you really are as a person; kind, sweet, blunt and dark at times, artistic, clever, and strong, and I'm proud of that person I see in you. I'm proud to be related to that person I see in you."
Lizzy couldn't help but smile, feeling touched by Melody's words, before she stepped back, saying while wiping her tears away, "Where'd you get this kind of reassuring stuff"?
"I don't know," Melody replied with a chuckle and shrug, saying, "Guess it's just in my roots."
Lizzy then commented, "Yes it is, sis," as she and Melody high-fived each other, though Melody used her hand while Lizzy reciprocated the high-five with her tailfins.
"So, since I have answered your questions, can I ask you one now," Lizzy asked Melody, who nodded in response before the Pop/Techno Mixed Troll asked, "What were you and those Normal Trolls doing in the woods anyway"?
Melody replied, "Oh, we're just on a exploration mission to find the Catacombs of Music"!
Lizzy looked visibly confused, asking, "The what"?
"The Catacombs of Music," Melody replied, adding, "We're going there to try and find Laguna's mom; she went missing a long time ago, and we're heading to the last place she was going to to see if she's still there. We were looking for a blue-and-pink marigold that marks the path that will lead us there."
Lizzy seemed to understand what Melody was talking about, commenting, "Oh. Well, there is a giant blue-and-pink marigold along the edge of town that marks a pathway-,"
Sweet guitar picks," Melody cheered, declaring, "That's the one, yes"!
"But...," Lizzy then started to say, sounding very unsure.
"But..." Melody asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"That doesn't lead to any catacombs; it leads to a cave," Lizzy clarified.
"A cave," Melody asked, commenting curiously, "Well, Laguna has told me that caverns can act as catacombs since they got the fancy hieroglyphic writing on the walls, and-,"
But Lizzy quickly pointed out, "Uh, Mel, the cave that is up ahead past the pathway with the marigold, it's not a catacomb; it's just a cave. Wtih tunnels and pathways, but nothing special about it."
This now made Melody really confused, the Pop/Rock Mixed Troll commenting, "Huh? But..That's impossible! We've been following the map that was inside the book Twilight had found"!
"Twilight," Lizzy asked in confusion.
"Oh, that's the name of Laguna's mom: Twilight Tidepool," Melody clarified before she said while pulling out the same book that she borrowed from Laguna's exploration bag opening it to the page that talked about it, "Look, here is the page that talks about it, and a picture of what it's supposed to look like."
Lizzy looked at the image in the book before saying, speaking a little bluntly, "Uh, not to sound too crazy, but this "picture" isn't real; it's a fake drawing, and the writing looks too physical because it's written in gloop-pen, not text."
To show what she meant, Lizzy brushed her hand along the image and the writing, making the writing and picture smeared; in a real book, the words and picture wouldn't smear like that. Which only meant...
Melody gasped when saw the smeared writing and image, saying, "What? But...that's...holy Troll! Does this mean...we've been following a path that leads us to a fake location"?!
"Afraid so," Lizzy replied, saying, "What's really up there is just a cave, but-,"
Then, Lizzy remembered something, saying, "Wait, that last name of your friend's mom, did you say it was Tidepool"?
"I did," Melody replied before seeing that Lizzy seemed to recognize it, asking, "Is that familiar with you"?
Lizzy thought about it before gasping, saying, "I...I think so. But...I only heard it once."
"Heard it? what do you mean," Melody asked curiously.
Lizzy thought about it before telling Melody, "Well...your friends aren't the first Normal Trolls to be here after the years of separation. Once, a Normal Troll came by her,e but...he was cruel and heartless and a scoundrel of a thief. He scavenged our whole kingdom, taking anything valuable and all our artifacts! I was only 3 when it happened, hiding in the bushes and watching his colored marking glow under the moonlight, hearing his scary Spanish voice mutter something as he took off with all our stuff."
"Colored marking? Spanish voice," Melody muttered to herself, trying to deduce who it was that ransacked Mixed City, before commenting in surprise, "Sounds like a Reggaeton Troll you saw."
Lizzy nodded in agreement, saying, "It was. His name was Senor Ramon, and I won't forget what I saw him steal and what he said."
Flashback to many years ago...
Lizzy was only 3 when she was hiding inside of a bush, frightened at the sight of what she was seeing.
In the distance, holding a large bag that was full of a lot of different things, was what appeared to be a stunning Reggaeton Troll. While the dark made him appear to have darker colors, he had pale purple skin, magenta tribal markings, some colorful stubble on his chin, red dreadlock-like hair in a high ponytail sprouting with the colors lime green, bright yellow, orange, and blue. He had green eyes, a light blue nose, a gold tooth, and he wore shimmering gold tassel earrings on his ears, a light orange polo shirt with the collar popped open so his chest was exposed, brown fingerless gloves, blue pants, and black dress shoes.
The Reggaeton Troll chuckled while saying, "Viva la rasta; if y'all ain't cheating, y'all ain't lying."
He opened his bag up, showing that inside of it were all sorts of rare gems, some gold trinkets, and some Mixed Troll artifacts, with the Reggaeton Troll grinning maliciously, saying in Spanish, "Estos objetos de valor quedarán muy bien en mi colección de ventas"!
Lizzy crouched low, trying to keep herself hidden, as the Reggaeton Troll declared, "I'mma be a millionaire once these go on sale."
He then said to himself while scratching his chin, "But, Senor Ramon, why sell these"?
"Pregunta excellente, Senor Ramon," he spoke to himself again, saying, "Because they are valuable, and make me money."
The now identified Troll chuckled maliciously before saying while he held a golden globe, "Todo a su debido tiempo, seré rico. Pero mi plan... mi plan maestro. I must conduct my big plan first, and if memory serves me correct, she shall be lured into my trap very soon. That book and map i made should be convincing enough to fool her."
He spoke to himself again, saying while placing the golden globe back into the bag, "Oh, what an idea to simply lure out that wretched explorer under the impression of exploring some dusty catacombs to locate some shiny new artifacts. i mean, en serio, cuando se trata de artefactos, ella simplemente no puede resistirse."
Lizzy listened closely while in fear as Senor Ramon closed the bag while saying, "Soon, she'll be muerto como su estúpido legado y pudriéndose en la tierra bajo mis pies. And I'll finally rid the world of that ella stupida goody-good historical explorer, Senora Tidepool"!
He cackled into the night as he made his escape with the riches, all while Lizzy stayed hidden and whimpered in fear, hugging her tail fins close.
End of flashback...
"Wait a minute, he said to himself that he was setting something up," Melody asked in confusion.
Lizzy nodded, explaining, "Yeah. Though he spoke mostly Spanish, I did pick up on something he said about ridding the world of someone by the name of Senora Tidepool, whoever that is or was."
The statement of that name made Melody's blood run cold, frightening her as she then asked, concerned that what Lizzy said was truly what she meant, asking, "Hold up! Did you say...Senora...Tidepool"?
"Yeah," Lizzy replied, commenting, "My memory of what happened is a little foggy, but I remember that statement clearly because he said it so loud. whomever Senora Tidepool is, or was, she must've angered him because he had nothing nice to say about her, although a lot of what he said was in Spanish, so I couldn't really understand it."
Melody gasped in shock, fear now prominent in her eyes, as she stated, "Senora Tidepool...I think he was referring to...Mrs. Tidepool...Laguna's mom."
Lizzy was now shocked to hear this, asking, "Woah, didn't you say that you and those Trolls are looking for her"?
Melody nodded, the shock not leaving her face, as she said, "Then, that means..." While she didn't say anything else, the fear and harsh realization were all the more apparent at the moment; this was no ancient location; this was a trap! A dreaded trap!
Realizing what was now ahead of them, Melody knew that the others had to hear about this because this meant that they were about to head toward what could be really dangerous!
However, when she saw Laguna, she also panicked because she didn't know how Laguna was gonna react if she told her that this ancient "location" was all some nasty setup that an evil Reggaeton Troll had set up to capture her mom, who now may not even be there anymore.
Deciding that it'd be easier to tell Laguna about this once everyone else understood the truth, Melody tried to get Laguna to step to the side and distract her with something that would keep her busy for a while, saying to the anTrollpologist while forcing a smile, "Hey, Laguna! Ya know, Lizzy says that there's ancient history involving that statue over there," and pointed to a statue of a Rock/Classical Troll, telling Laguna, "You should take notes about it; I'm sure that a lot of Trolls would love to hear about the great history behind that statue."
Laguna was immediately drawn in, saying, "Oh my! Well, I shall go right now to check it and take some notes on what I find out about it. Thanks, Mel," before she ran off to go examine the statue and write notes about in her notepad.
"Ok, go ahead; well be at Lizzy's house if you need us," Melody shouted towards the now faraway anTrollpologist, her smile still forced before she saw that Laguna was a remarkable distance away.
This gave her the perfect opportunity to drop the forced smile and frantically tell the others, who were watching the street show, "Guys, we need to talk"!
"Hold on, Melly; we're watching the street show," Val commented while gently pushing Melody aside.
But Melody was determined, shouting, "No, we need to talk now"!
"What's wrong, sugar? What ya so frantic," Delta, who noticed Melody's panicking state, asked as some of the other Normal Trolls began to turn their heads and see what was getting Melody riled up.
"Just come with me to Lizzy's house, and we'll explain everything," Melody replied, with Lizzy nodding in agreement.
"Is everything alright?" Aggie asked her best friend in concern.
"No, it's not! We'll tell you why, but not out here! Come on," Melody ushered everyone to start walking toward Lizzy's house.
The group, seeing that whatever was going on appeared to be very serious, followed the Pop/Rock Mixed Troll's instructions and began to head towards Lizzy's house.
McJagger stopped for a minute when he saw that Laguna wasn't with them, and noticed she was over by a statue, inspecting it while taking notes about it. He started to point out, "Wait, what about-"
"Laguna will join us in a bit! Now, come on, mister," Melody shouted while grabbing McJagger by the edge of his jacket and practically pulling him to follow the rest of the group as they headed over to Lizzy's house.
Once they entered the house and were standing in the art room, Melody closed the door while Essence asked, "Now, Melody, what is going on"?
"Yeah, yo, why you so riled up? No offense," Synth asked worryingly.
"First, no offense taken," Melody commented, first sounding like her regular cheerful self, before saying as she became frantic again, "And second, guys, we are in HUGE trouble! I just found out..." before she looked to Lizzy, who knew that Melody was too in shock to say it, and nodded, patting her little sister on the shoulder before she stepped forward, saying, "Melody has told me that you guys are heading to this place called the Catacombs of Music to help your friend Laguna find her mom. And I, we, hate to tell you this, but...that place...doesn't exist."
No one in the group said a word at first until Barb broke out in laughter, saying, "Ha! Good one, Mel; now tell us what's really going on."
"Barb, I'm not joking; we both aren't; we're being serious," Melody quickly pointed out.
"Yeah right, and I'm a part-time DJ," Barb replied jokingly ina semi-sarcastic manner, the comment making Trollex frown and shout, "Hey! What's wrong with being a DJ"?
Before that comment could be answered, Holly stepped in, saying, "Ay think what she meant ta ask is what do ya mean it don't exist? We have the book with that page that tells all 'bout it."
"You mean the page with the fake writing and image," Melody commented as she pulled out the book and showed the page with the smudged writing and smudged picture, which showed that it was a fraud.
Everyone in the group gasped in shock, with Dante groaning and fainting in disbelief.
"It's a big phony," Stereo declared in disbelief.
Low-Note Jones looked at the page close up, looking at it from all angles from the book before saying, "Yep, it's fake, and we somehow did not see it firsthand, baby. It's as disappointing as it is a surprise."
"But wait, that was the book that Twilight came across that told her about the Catacombs of Music," Aggie pointed out before asking, "If it's actually a fake, then does that mean that she really didn't got there"?
Lizzy and Melody nodded, with Lizzy saying, "Nope, and that map that came with it, like the digital copy you made, is all fool's paper. That pathway actually leads to an old cave. And in that cave, a Troll by the name of Senor Ramon calls it his hideaway...and his big plan."
"Who's Senor Ramon," Trollzart asked worryingly.
"And "big plan"? What did he mean by that, Lizzy," Quincy asked in concern.
Melody piped in, explaining, "A long time ago, a Reggaeton Troll by the name of Senor Ramon ransacked through Mixed City and stole all their valuables and artifacts, and while Lizzy was hiding, she heard him say that he was gonna use it to rid the world of Senora Tidepool, Mrs. Tidepool! AKA, Laguna's mom"!
"So wait, does that mean..." McJagger asked, concerned now washing over him and the other trolls present in the room.
Lizzy nodded to acknowledge that what she and Melody were referring to was, unfortunately, true, stating, "That place is a trap, and you guys, especially Laguna, are heading right for it."
