Chapter 2: Xana Meets the Shadow Clan
Little Xana was playing outside the hideout on Bella's back. Rune sat nearby, watching them play. Just then, as Bella brought Xana over to him, Rune stood up from his seat. "Xana, I think it's time for you to meet my other family." He said.
[Flashback]
Eli, Harley and Rune were inside the hideout, speaking with the Shadow Clan Chief. "So, if it's okay with you, once Xana's a little older, we want Rune and Bella to bring her to the Dark Periphery to meet the Shadow Clan." Eli said. "Very well. She will be most welcome, sons of Shane." The Chief said.
[Flashback End]
Rune and Bella brought Xana to the Dark Periphery where the Shadow Clan appeared through the shadows and greeted them. Xana giggled at their presence, showing no fear of them at all. "Welcome to the Dark Periphery, Xana. And just in time for the ceremony." Rune said. The Chief gathered the Shadow Clan together and prepared their slugs. The Chief held up a Flaringo and a Grenuke, and gave a loud screech, causing the slugs to start glowing. The Shadow Clan joined in. Xana giggled as the ceremony progressed. Rune smiled at Xana's happiness.
Afterwards, as they prepared to leave, the Chief gave Xana something. A pendant with a small green gem on it. "That's a very special pendant. It will be a very special help for you some day." Rune said. Xana giggled as Bella and Rune started taking her home. Xana looks at her new pendant and started chewing on it like a chew toy.
