Chapter 6
The Fellowship walked along the walls towards the West Gate of Moria.
"Frodo, come and help an old man." Gandalf told the young Hobbit.
Frodo walked up and supported Gandalf under his arm.
"How is your shoulder?"
"Better than it was."
"And the Ring? You feel its power growing, don't you? I've felt it too. You must be careful now. Evil will be drawn to you from outside the Fellowship. And, I fear, from within."
"Who then do I trust?"
"You must trust yourself. Trust your own strengths."
"What do you mean?"
"There are many powers in this world for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. And against some I have not yet been tested."
Gilmi looked at the walls in awe. "The walls of Moria!"
Everyone continued to walk along the wall.
Theolynn slowly walked, being careful as she walked along the path. Her eyes wandered around slowly keeping an eye out for any sort of danger.
"Dwarf doors are invisible when closed." Gimli said softly.
"Yes, Gimli, their own masters cannot find them if their secrets are forgotten." Gandalf said, looking over at Gimli.
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Legolas said, shaking his head.
The Fellowship walked by the side of the lake.
Frodo's foot slipped into the water.
Gandalf stopped in front of the door and made out the outline of the doors. "Well, let's see. Ithildin. It mirrors only starlight and moonlight."
The Moon appeared from behind the clouds and the doors illuminated.
Theolynn bit her lip softly as she watched with her brows furrowed.
"It reads "The doors of Durin, Lord of Moria. Speak, friend, and enter.""
"What do you suppose that means?" Merry questioned tilting her head to the side, slightly confused.
"Oh it's quite simple. If you are a friend you speak the password and the doors will open. Annon Edhellen edro hi ammen! Fennas Nogothrim lasto beth lammen!"
Pippin blinked a few times seeing that the doors hadn't opened. "Nothing's happening."
Gandalf began to push it, but it didn't move.
Theolynn slowly sat down letting out a soft breath after some time had gone on as the door continued to not open.
Boromir slowly joined her and wrapped his arm around her.
Theolynn's head slowly rested onto his shoulder taking a soft breath closing her eyes.
Boromir rubbed her arm softly as she rested.
Gandalf let out a breath thinking. "I once knew every spell in all the tongues of the Elves, Men, and Orcs."
"What are you going to do, then?" Pippin questioned softly.
"Knock your head against these doors, Peregrin Took! And if that does not shatter them and I am allowed a little peace from foolish questions I will try to find the opening words. Ando Eldarinwa a lasta quettanya, Fenda Casarinwa!"
The doors remained shut.
Aragorn took off Bill's bridle as Sam petted Bill goodbye. "The mines are no place for a pony, even one so brave as Bill."
"Bye-bye Bill."
"Go on, Bill, go on. Don't worry Sam, he knows the way home."
Merry threw a stone into the water.
Pippin was about to as well, but Aragorn stopped him.
"Do not disturb the water." Aragorn said, giving Pippin a scolding.
Gandalf gave up and threw his staff on the ground. "Oh, it's useless!"
Boromir, Theolynn, and Aragorn watched the water as they saw something moving in it.
Frodo looked at the door and then something popped into his mind and he got up to his feet. "It's a riddle. Speak "friend" and enter. What's the Elvish word for friend?"
"Mellon." Gandalf said looking up.
The doors opened slowly.
Everyone turned in surprise and slowly went into Moria.
"Soon master Elf you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the Dwarves. Roaring fires, malt beer, ripe meat off the bone! This, my friend, is the home of my cousin Balin. And they call it a mine. A mine!" Gilmi said proudly.
Boromir looked around his brows furrowed a little bit. "This is no mine. It's a tomb!"
Theolynn slowly backed up her eyes wide seeing dead dwarves laying everywhere on the floor.
"Oh! No! Nooo!"
Legolad picked up an arrow from the body of a fallen dwarf, looking at it carefully before throwing it away in disgust. "Goblins!" Legolas put an arrow to his bow.
Aragorn, Boromir, and Theolynn drew their swords.
"We make for the Gap of Rohan. We should never have come here." Boromir said, looking at the group.
Theolynn pursed her lips together in concern.
The panic began to grow, and the hobbits headed back towards the door. They didn't notice that something was stirring in the water outside.
"Now get out of here! Get out!"
Theolynn turned quickly and moved towards the exit with the others. Her hand gripping tightly on her sword.
Suddenly Frodo was grabbed from behind and pulled out of the cave by the Watcher in the water.
"Frodo!" The hobbits shouted in shock.
"Strider!" Sam hollered.
"Help!" Frodo yelled trying to get some help.
"Get off him!" Sam cut off a tentacle.
The watcher released Frodo for a second, and moved back under the water. Suddenly many tentacles came out of the water, it hit the other hobbits aside and grabbed Frodo again. He was pulled into the air.
"Aah!"
"Aragorn!" Merry yelled.
Legolas shot at the tentacle holding Frodo.
Boromir, Aragorn, and Theolyn rushed to the water with their swords, and attacked the Watcher.
It flings Frodo around in the air.
Boromir sliced the tentacle holding Frodo, who fell, and Boromir caught him.
Aragorn, Theolynn, and Boromir retreated to the cave.
"Into the Mines!" Gandalf ordered them.
"Legolas!" Boromir yelled.
"Into the cave! Run!" Aragorn yelled, calling out to the group.
Legolas shot an arrow into the watcher's eyes. It pulled back and the Fellowship raced into Moria, it reached out and slammed the gates shut.
Rocks dropped and the roof of the passage collapsed. Total darkness fell upon them.
Then a faint beam of light emits from Gandalf's staff showing everyone's startled faces.
"We now have but one choice. We must face the long dark of Moria. Be on your guard. There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of the world."
Theolynn took a breath, pursing her lips together, her heart pounding in her chest as she looked around the dark tunnels.

This is the end of Chapter 6. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter. I tried my best to work with this part of the movie. And since I don't have the book to actually add any book points into it. I do apologize. What do you think of Boromir having a love interest? Reviews keep me going. Until next time.
