Chapter 5: Xana's First Slug
Today, Eli, Harley, Eliza and Will are taking Xana for a walk in her stroller to show her what Slugterra looks like. "This was a good idea, Mom." Eli said. "Yeah. Xana's gonna love how Slugterra looks." Harley said. "Yeah, I know. How do you like your first Tour de Slugterra, honey?" Eliza asked to her baby daughter. But Xana was somehow gone! Eli, Harley, Eliza and Will screamed.
Xana had strolled into the wild. But before she could get far, a stray Infurnus appeared in front of her. She started to play with the little slug and it formed a bond with her as it found her interesting. "Xana!" Eli called. "Where'd you go, baby sis?" Harley called as they came through the brush. "Oh, there you are, you sneaky little scamp." Eli said, picking Xana up. Just then, the stray Infurnus hopped up Eli's leg and into Xana's hands. "Well, hello there, little guy. Never thought we'd meet another Infurnus out here." Harley said. The stray Infurnus chittered. "Well, I think this little slug wants to stay with Xana." Eli said. "Huh. Looks like little Xana has inherited the Shane gene of befriending slugs." Harley said.
After rejoining Eliza and Will, the family returned to the hideout. "Hey, guys. How was your walk?" Kord asked. "Well, it was quite…interesting." Eli said. "How so?" Mario asked. "Xana got loose and strolled off into the wild." Harley explained. "But it was a good thing that Eli and Harley managed to find her." Will said. "But she wasn't all we found. Look who was with her." Eli said, gesturing to Xana's new Infurnus. The gang was surprised to see this. "No way." Trixie said. "Another Infurnus?" Deagan said in a surprised tone. "What a rare discovery." Aerona said. "Shane Gang, meet the newest addition to our family, Rouge." Eli introduced as Rouge greeted the gang with a small chirp.
Later on that day, Xana was asleep in her crib with Rouge sleeping by her side. A bright future awaited this young Shane and the new Infurnus who would become her partner.
