Chapter 6: Hide 'n' Seek
Today, Eli and Harley were at home babysitting Xana while the gang was out with Will and Eliza. "Okay, Xana. How about we play a little game of hide 'n' seek?" Eli asked. Xana giggled happily as she clapped her hands. "Alright, Xana, you go hide, and we will seek you." Harley said with added hand motions. Xana giggled and clapped her hands again.
A while later, Eli and Harley were counting down while Xana went off to hide. She climbed into a wicker basket and covered herself with a blanket as her brothers reached the 90s. "…98, 99, 100. Ready or not, here we come." Eli and Harley called simultaneously. They split up and searched through the entire hideout. "Xana! Where are you?" Eli called as he searched the bedrooms and the bathrooms. "Come out, come out wherever you are, Xana!" Harley called as he searched the pet pens, the garage and the kitchen.
For the next 20 minutes, Eli and Harley searched the entire hideout, but they couldn't find Xana anywhere. "Eli, I can't find Xana anywhere." Harley said with worry. "Me either. Where could she be?" Eli asked with worry. Just then, a familiar giggle came from the wicker basket, under the blanket. Xana sat up and revealed herself with a happy squeal. "Xana!" Eli and Harley cried simultaneously before hugging their baby sister with relief. "I can't believe we forgot about that basket." Eli said. "Well, we're just happy we found you, Xana." Harley said. Xana cooed as she relaxed in her brothers' warming hug. "You know, E, Xana's a pretty good hider." Harley admitted. "She really is." Eli agreed.
