Chapter 7: Getting to Know the Gang
Today, little Xana was getting to know every single one of Eli and Harley's friends while they, Will and Eliza were out dealing with a recently escaped Hooligang.
Trixie was doing a video on the recent air activities with Sora and the air slugs. Xana giggled as she sat down and watched. "Xana, would you like to hold the camera?" Trixie asked. Xana giggled as she nodded. Trixie handed her the camera before getting into the recording. "As you can see, Sora the Air Elemental and the other air slugs are performing a special air slug ceremony." She narrated as Xana recorded everything, giggling.
Later, Xana was in the garage as Kord was modifying the mecha beasts. "Now, pay attention, Xana. Being an engineer is a very hard job." Kord explained as he modified Wyatt. "Now where did I put that socket wrench?" He looked through the tools for his socket wrench. Xana cooed, getting his attention. She held up the socket wrench. "Well, look at that. My socket wrench. Thanks, little dudette." Kord said. Xana giggled.
Later, Xana watched as Pronto was serving the pets their food. "What? You may not guess by looking at Pronto, but Pronto is actually a caring molenoid when it comes to caring for his pets." Pronto said. Xana giggled as Pronto presented each of the pets their food. "But speaking of caring, did Pronto ever tell you all about the time Pronto presented a lifetime supply of clothes to a group of orphaned amphibanoids?" Pronto asked as he started telling one of his exaggerated stories again, making Xana giggle.
Later, Vance took Xana on a gentle stroll on Champ. "Now then, these gentle mecha strolls help me get in touch with my inner champion. Even when I'm not helping your brothers with their missions, I still need to keep up with my training." Vance explained. Xana giggled as Vance rode Champ up hillsides and across rivers.
Later, Xana watched as Mario and Ricochet were about to practice their trick-shooting skills on a set of targets set up around them. "Pay attention, little Xana. The art of trick-shooting is like making a pizza. Find all the ingredients in your head and plan it out." Mario explained as he loaded Ricochet into his blaster, took aim and took a deep breath. He slung Ricochet, ricocheting off every piece of their surroundings and hitting each target. Xana giggled as the little Speedstinger slug hit each target.
Later, Joshwa and Lash brought Xana to their family's hotel in Sandstone Cavern. "I tell you, bro, your family sure does a lot of laundry." Lash said as they carried baskets filled with dirty clothes over to the laundry chute. "I know. It's an advantage of being in a big family. We help each other out with the chores." Joshwa said. Just then, after they emptied their baskets down the chute and went to go get some more clothes, Xana curiously crawled into the laundry chute and fell into the laundry area, hiding in one of the piles. As they got back with a couple more baskets, Joshwa and Lash noticed Xana was gone. "Hey, where's Xana?" Lash asked. "I don't know. She was just here." Joshwa said. They looked at the chute and screamed as they realized. They made their way down to the laundry area and started looking through the piles. "I swear we left her alone for 8 seconds!" Lash panicked. "Just keep searching! She must be under these clothes somewhere!" Joshwa exclaimed. Just then, Xana popped out of the piles with a playful squeal, scaring the 2 brothers. "Whoa. You scared us." Joshwa said in relief. "Eli and Harley never told us Xana had a sense of humor." Lash said. Xana just kept laughing as the brothers joined her.
Later, Xana watched as Shimei was doing her training. "Pay close attention, little one. I must have a calm mind for my skill to be perfected. I must float like a butterfly and sting like a bee." Shimei explained. Xana giggled as she watched Shimei perform her moves with her staff. As her finish, Shimei slung Hindo and Huong into the air. Together, the 2 slugs created a pretty firework show with their power. Xana laughed and clapped her hands. "I'm happy you liked that. My grandmother taught me that one…before she…passed away." Shimei said, her voice dropping. Xana watched in confusion as Shimei sat down and started crying. Xana walked over and hugged Shimei's leg. Shimei looked at Xana as she motioned her hands, placing them on her chest. Shimei smiled, knowing what she meant. That her grandmother will always live in her heart. She picked up Xana and gave her a better hug. "Thank you. While I know that my grandmother will always be in my heart, I'm very happy to have a family with you and your brothers." She whispered.
Later, Xana was with Watts at the small lagoon the gang made for Reolin and Dew. "Now remember, wee one, water is very harmless. Don't be scared when your body touches it." Watts explained as he prepared to bring Xana into the lagoon. He stepped into the water and walked down to the small deep part. Xana whined for a bit as her toes were close to the water. "It's okay, lass. I promise, I will not let you drown." Watts assured. He knelt down and Xana's feet disappeared into the water. Xana giggled at the feeling of the water. "There, you see? I told you water is harmless." Watts said. Xana laughed playfully as she splashed her arms around in the water, getting some in Watts' face. "Well, mostly harmless."
Later, Dana and Deagan were taking Xana on a little trip. "Get ready, Xana. You'll like this." Dana said as she carried Xana in her arms. Deagan activated their Shadow Walker and teleported away. They reappeared at their old hangout from their days as thieves. Xana giggled from the teleportation. "Xana, welcome to our old hangout." Dana said. Xana cooed as the Por siblings showed her around before climbing up to their old web hammock. "We had quite the views before we joined your brothers, little sis." Dana said. "Yeah. But we're much happier now as Shanes than we were as Pors." Deagan admitted. Xana cooed as she watched the view from the web.
Later, Xana was playing with the Garcia Quadruplets. They were in their room playing dress-up. "Here, Xana, try this one on." Aerona said, putting a cute little pink dress on Xana. Xana giggled as she was being dressed. "Oh, that is so cute!" Kala squealed. "Here. This should make her even cuter." Fareeda said, putting a little sunhat on Xana. "Aw! You look absolutely beautiful, Xana." Paulina said. Xana giggled as she held up her arms, wanting a hug. "Aw!" The quadruplets squealed, gently giving the baby Shane a group hug. "Come on, let's all dress up and get some pictures of this moment." Aerona said. The quadruplets all dressed up and took several pictures of their fun times together.
Later, Rune was watching over Xana while she was playing with the pendant the Shadow Clan gave her. "Careful there, Xana. That pendant is a very valued Shadow Clan relic." He said. Just then, the pendant started to glow bright green. And then suddenly, Xana teleported away. "Oh, that's not good." Rune said. Xana teleported everywhere in Slugterra, from Jungle Cavern to Undertow Cavern. Rune followed after her with his Shadow Walker. Xana giggled throughout the entire trip. Several of the Shane Gang's allies grew baffled as Xana and Rune teleported through their home caverns. As Rune finally got a hold of Xana in Land's End Cavern, he grabbed the pendant and started hissing something in Shadow Clan language. The pendant's glow died down, stopping all the teleporting. Xana just continued giggling. "Whew. Well, that was quite a day for us." Rune said as he sighed in relief.
Later, Prince Barry brought Xana along as he received a call from Brodie about an injured creature outside High Plains Cavern. An Emperor Griffin had its wings injured after an incident with hunters. "It's okay. I'm here to help." Barry said gently as he approached the Griffin. The Griffin felt hesitant around him, but it couldn't do much with its wings injured. Barry gently placed his hand on the Griffin and started to glow. Xana cooed in awe as she watched Barry heal the Griffin. As the glow died down, the Griffin couldn't feel pain in its wings anymore. It gave a grateful squawk before flying away. "You see that, little one? If you ever need anything like what you witnessed, I'll be there." Barry said. Xana giggled.
Later, Xana sat with Cilan Garcia as they watched Junjie, Yu Jie and the Fuurin Quadruplets teach Slug Fu to Tad. "Remember, you must learn to master control in order to perfect Slug Fu." Junjie instructed. Tad understood as he followed his teacher's movements perfectly. "I'm so proud of Tad. He's a pretty fast learner." Cilan said. Xana stared with interest as Junjie, Yu Jie and the Fuurins instructed Tad. Just then, she stood up and started mimicking their movements. "Well, well, well, it looks like someone else is a fast learner like her big brothers." Cilan said as he noticed Xana.
Later that night, Eli and Harley sat down on the couch with Xana in Harley's lap. "Well, Xana, how'd you like hanging out with our friends?" Eli asked. Xana giggled, saying that she liked it. "That's our little sis." Harley said.
