Chapter 8: Wild Mecha Ride
Little Xana was wandering through the hideout while her brothers and their friends were doing their own thing. Suddenly, when no one was looking she wandered inside the garage and gazed upon the mecha beasts with curiosity. She climbed up on Lucky and started up his engine.
The sound of Lucky's engine startled the gang. "Uh, is that one of the mechas' engines?" Eliza asked. "I know that engine. That's Lucky's engine." Harley said, recognizing the engine. "It's probably just Eli about to take Lucky for a spin." Trixie said. "Uh, guys? I'm right here." Eli said, revealing himself over by the sink. "Then if you're over there, then who's on Lucky?" Aerona asked. Everyone looked out the window as Lucky revved off. They screamed in horror as they saw that Xana was on Lucky. "MECHAS! NOW!" Eli exclaimed.
As the gang mounted their mechas, Eli got on Delta with Harley and led them to chase after Xana. "I got a lock on her! She's heading north!" Kord exclaimed. "I got her in sight!" Pronto exclaimed, spotting Xana and Lucky up ahead. At first, everyone was relieved. But suddenly, the gang gasped in horror as they saw where Xana was heading. There was a cliff just up ahead! But Xana was giggling too much to notice.
"We gotta stop Xana before she goes over that cliff!" Eli exclaimed. "But how? They're too far ahead for our slugs!" Trixie exclaimed with worry. "And even I can't catch up to them in time!" Vance exclaimed. "Wait! Eli, Fareeda and I installed an automatic voice stop function into Lucky just last week! Call out to him to stop and he'll stop!" Kord exclaimed. "LUCKY! STOP!" Eli shouted out. Lucky obeyed and skidded to a stop. But the force of the stop sent a still giggling Xana flying off of the wolf mecha and towards the cliff. "MY BABY!" Eliza screamed. "I got her!" Will exclaimed. He drew his blaster and fired his Bubbaleone. The balloon slug reached Xana, swallowed her up and floated her back to the gang. The gang sighed in relief. Pronto even fainted and fell off Fernando.
"Xana, that was a very bad thing you did, riding off on a mecha beast without an adult. You could've been hurt." Eliza scolded as they headed back to the hideout. Xana cooed as she hugged her mommy, understanding her family's worry as she promised never to do it again.
Later, as Xana was playing with the slugs, Kord and Fareeda were installing a small barrier around the garage. "There. That should prevent Xana from getting inside the garage again." Fareeda said. "Good. She really gave us quite the scare the first time." Kord said.
