Chapter 14: Midnight Snack
It was night time and at the hideout, everyone was tucking up for bed. Eliza was tucking Xana in her crib while singing her lullaby. As the lullaby ended, Xana finally went to sleep. Eliza gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight, sweetie." She whispered before leaving.
Later, as the time went by, Xana woke up when her stomach started growling. Knowing she was hungry, she climbed out of her crib on her own and made her way to the kitchen. When she arrived, she walked to the fridge. But she couldn't open the handles since she wasn't tall enough. But then, her slugs appeared on the fridge and helped her. They slid over to the handle and opened the fridge. One by one, the slugs got out the food and brought it to Xana, who clapped her hands happily before starting to eat.
The next morning, Eliza walked into Xana's room to check on her. But then, she gasped in shock when she saw that the crib was empty. "EVERYONE, WAKE UP! XANA'S GONE!" She screamed in a panic. Everyone jolted awake from all the screaming and ran out of their rooms. But as they made their way down the stairs, they stopped to see Xana and her slugs asleep on the couch with food everywhere. "Looks like someone decided to have a little midnight snack." Eli said with a small chuckle. "Little? She apparently ate more than Pronto." Harley said, making Pronto feel a little offended. Eliza chuckled as she walked over to the couch and picked her sleeping daughter up. Gathering up cleaning supplies, the gang started cleaning up all the food while Eliza took Xana back upstairs.
