I toss and turn for hours, but I can't sleep. Maybe the interview keyed me up. I sigh, crawling over to the edge of bed, and looking down at the bouquet Claw gave me. Why does he hate Gabriel Agreste so much, and now that I think about, even though its Adrien's father, it doesn't seem like their on good terms.

If the flowers were to expire tomorrow, I would have pressed flowers into my scrapbook, but their sweet fragrance calms me a little, but not enough to help me sleep. I have an idea, but there's a good chance is Claw is fast asleep as I should be….

"Blots On," I whisper and I snap open my compact, my face glowing in the light of the screen.

Toxinelle: Can't sleep. Wanna meet up on the roof the Notre Dame?

To my surprise, Claw is awake.

Claw: Are you asking me on a date, Cockroach? I thought you stopped chirping and hissing at sundown.

I burst into quiet giggles, but I can't let on that I think that's cute. I tap out my response.

Toxinelle: I'm a rebel with a chirp. And I don't date guys with fleas.

Claw: Hey, I use the most sweetest smell soap this side of Paris. Ever heard of Peach and Almond?

Toxinelle: Sounds like a smoothie from Starbucks. See you ten, Fleabag.

Claw: See you in a chirp.

I roll my eyes, snapping shut my compact. Thank goodness Mama and Papa are out tonight, because our shrieking tea kettle could wake the dead. Most singers can't hit the notes of the kettle. I grab a couple of pastries from the bakery, and fly off into the night.

Before I zip to the roof of the Cathedral, I take in the scene. The world-famous Rose Window is lit up with a rosy glow.

"There you are, Cockroach. I was about to take a nap," I look up to see Claw's eyes glowing down at me. I shiver. "Its a bit chilly up here. Here, I want to show you something."

Claw follows my lead into the Cathedral and into the secret room I found on the tour. I hand him his mug of tea and his pastry, a smile on my face. He looks at it suspiciously, after giving it a sniff. "If you poisoned this, I'm blaming you." "That would be a shame," I tease. "I wouldn't have anyone to pick on." "So, why did you call me out at three in the morning?" Claw's voice drops his teasing tone, and I sigh. "I couldn't sleep, and I guess I needed someone to talk to. Or…" A yawn escapes me before I can fight it, and I clamp a hand over my mouth. "Here, if you want to rest your head on my….."

I interrupt Claw as a blue flash fills the room, and I whirl my yo-yo expertly. As if from nowhere, a man walks out into the room. Instantly, I know its the same person I saw at the pool, and the same gentle man I worked for back in China. Though this man looks anything but gentle, he looks dangerous.

"Who are you?" I ask. "I am the Supreme, the one who gave your powers. I have been watching you fail at your mission. Only one of you will survive when you bring me the Butterfly Miraculous. Though I grow weary in impatience, I have brought something to help you on your quest."

The Supreme hands us a holder filled with vials of glowing liquid. "Oh, great. Are you going to teach us science, too?" Claw asks. Silently, I brush his hand against mine. The Supreme begins to pace back and forth. "In your vials, you will find different power-ups. One for water, one for ice, and so on. This will help you greatly in your quest."

"What does the person look like that we are searching for? Do you know anything about them?" "he is mysterious and introverted. His sadness, along with his madness is masked by his work. I'm told that his favorite color is purple, royal purple to be exact." Claw and I look at each other. Claw steps forward. "Do you know who he is?" The Supreme doesn't mean his eyes. "I have my suspicions, but it is up to you bring this villain to justice."

He opens once again the bright blue portal, and turns back to look us. "Even working together, only one of you will survive." Then he disappears, and I sit heavily down on one of the boxes. "Meaning, one of us will die…?"

I can't lose Claw, I can't. Sure, he annoys me, but secretly l love it. Plus, he's the first person Marinette was able to open up to. I can't fail my mission, but there is no way my partner is dying. I hear a choking sound, and I'm about to make a joke about a fur ball, when I realize Claw is crying.

"Hey, come on. Let's cuddle." Claw pulls me close, and I hug him hard. "I can't lose you," I whisper, listening to the beat of his heart. "I've already lost my family, I won't lose you too."

When I look up, Claw's lips are closer then expected, and without a shadow of the doubt, I close the distance. His lips are warm and sweet, and I could kiss him all day.

Without breaking the kiss, my hands weave into his hair which is soft as well. Claw makes a different sound now, as he unfastens my buns, letting my long black hair cascade down my back.

Hopefully in the morning, I'm not going to think this was a heat-of-the-moment kiss, but I quell that option.

"I should go," I whisper, and Claw nods. "How about we meet up at the ice rink tomorrow afternoon, and try one of the power-ups?" I nod. "Just don't blow anything up. Science can be tricky."

I have to fly out the door for school the next morning, but I'm glad I met up with Claw.

In sewing class, our teachers shows us several methods how to repair tears and rips. We are each assigned a dress or shirt to work on, and I can't help thinking of Adrien. If only he could mend the rip with his father, but how do you heal a tear on one's heart?

"Nice work, Marinette. You have a very steady hand," my teacher smiles at me, and I bask in her praise. Having a steady hand is high praise indeed, because you don't want wonky stitches.

I find Adrien in a back corner of the lunchroom working on...a bracelet? "Whacha working on?" I ask, setting my tray down. Adrien shoves the beads back into his bag. "Oh, nothing. Hey, you want to hang out after school?" I sigh. "I wish I could, but I'm meeting a friend." "Oh," Adrien looks down. "A guy friend or a girl?" Oh, why is this so hard? "Guy." Adrien leans close. "Marinette, your not dating in secret are you?" I shake my head, saying nothing. Just because Claw and I kissed, doesn't mean we're together. "Could you meet me at the ice rink, say four?" That should give me and Claw plenty of time to test our new powers. "I'll be there. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a surprise to work on."

I wave, and get to the business of eating. Then my stomach lurches as the Supreme words come back to me. What if I fail the mission and don't survive? I can't do that to…. "Adrien?" I call across the lunchroom, and I push my way through the crowd. "What is it?"

I could run away right now, but I don't. Instead, I jump up on tiptoe and kiss him. "Just thanks for being my friend," I blush.

Adrien pulls me to a quiet corridor, backing me against the wall. "Your very brave to kiss me in front of the school, but I know we can do better then that. Let me show you."

My head is floating off into the clouds, and I place my hands lightly on Adrien's chest. Dimly, we hear the bell ring.

We part ways, still lost in our world, failing to notice that Chloe has captured it all on camera. So many kisses, so much confusion, I think to myself.

So much love. And I am torn between two boys I love, a Princess and A Cockroach in distress.

Its a relief to hand to the ice rink after picking up two hot chocolates for me and Claw, my power-up safely stored away in my pack.

Claw isn't at the rink, so I hang out in one of the bleachers, sketching away. Sketching helps keep me calm, and I lose myself in my work.

I duck down under the seats when I see Claw come in, and I smile. Its time to have some fun with my partner. "Hey, glad you showed up."

"I can push back my afternoon nap an hour or two." "What do you dream about? Catnip? Wind-up mice? No, don't tell me, fleas!" '

"Ha, ha, you are so funny." I grin, giving a mock bow. "Thank you, thank you. I'm here all week." "Toxinelle?" "Let me guess, you don't know how to skate?" "No, I was wondering if you could help me tie my laces." Oh, this boy. "Here, your going to want to eat this first."

Claw stares at the blue macaroon I pull up, like its a yucky bug. "What's that?" "Would you just eat the macaroon?" I shove it in his mouth. "Meow, delicious!" "Say it, don't spray it! Now, my Kwami wrote down what we need to say to power-up. Tikki, Power-Up!"

Claw blinks, a bored expression on his face. "Power-Up? That's it?" "Claw…." After our new transformation, I look down at my new outfit. An icy snowflake pattern covers my suit, and I even have a crown! Now, to the ice we go.
