The young girl turned around to face the owner of the voice. She blinked when she saw Sasuke's brother.
"Itachi-san." The pinkette bowed her head in greeting. "Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Hn. My mother wanted to know if you would like to come over for dinner tonight. I believe my father should be attending as well."
"Mm.." Sakura hesitated for a split second. It would be rude of her to not accept however she wasn't in the mood to go over to the Uchiha Patriarch's house for dinner. All she wanted to do at the moment was bury herself in a pile of books and sleep. You can't really blame the pinkette though since she had stayed up quite late the previous night and she had gotten up early this morning in hopes of saying goodbye to Yui and Takumi.
An image of Inner appeared in her mind and Sakura froze. Her other half would never forgive her if she refused free food. Sakura had no doubt that if she did decline the Uchiha's offer Inner would find out and she would be on the receiving end of a long lecture.
Sighing, the four year old came to a decision. "I would be delighted to come round for dinner. Your mother is a splendid cook and it would be nice to meet your father."
"Very well.. It's no formal event however it would probably be best to dress nicely.. arrive at around five this evening." Before Sakura could reply the Uchiha disappeared.
'Dress nicely, he says it as if what I'm wearing right now isn't nice!' The pinkette huffed as she smoothed out her red hoodie. She nibbled on her bottom lip before turning around and walking off. She decided that she wouldn't return back to her house straight away, instead she was going to go to the library.
She travelled down a familiar road, dancing in and out of people. Her training really was proving useful and she felt pride well up in her chest as she walked into the library.
"Sakura-chan! There you are! I was wondering when you were going to stop by." Manami greeted her, pulling the pinkette into a hug. "I've actually been waiting for you. We got some new books delivered the other day and I think you will enjoy reading them!" She let the girl go before beckoning the pinkette to follow her.
Sakura spent well over an hour skimming through multiple books and helping Manami put them away. There were many books; however most of them were romance novels or children's books, there were none that held any interest to Sakura. The four year old sighed as she placed the last book in its place on the shelf.
Manami turned to look at her and smiled softly. "Wait here a second please Sakura-chan." The young girl nodded her head and watched the woman scurry away.
The bluenette returned a minute later with a small bag in hand. She walked over to Sakura and gently grabbed the pinkette's hand. She placed the bag in the younger female's palm and pulled her hands away.
Sakura blinked up at Manami before turning her attention to the item in her grasp. She loosened the string that kept the bag closed and peered inside. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw the money contained inside. Her head snapped up when she heard soft giggles. Manami was laughing, her hand covering her mouth in an attempt to muffle the sound.
The four year old tilted her head in confusion. The green eyed woman noticed and smiled kindly down at the girl.
"Apologies Sakura-chan, it's just.. you're so kawai!" The woman held a hand up to one of her cheeks as she felt heat crawl onto her face.
"Mm.. arigatou?" She was still mildly confused but chose not to question Manami's odd behaviour. She was quite used to people fussing over her thanks to Yui's recent visit; the brunette was a true mother hen.
"Anyway, please keep the money, think of it as a reward for being so helpful!" Sakura opened her mouth to deny the generous offer but was shooed away by Manami who rushed off to help an elderly man find the book he was looking for.
Huffing, the pinkette turned around and walked deeper into the library. At this point she knew the place better then the back of her hand.
She wandered over to where she had seen the book she was now looking for and smirked when her eyes spotted it. She picked it up and carried it over to a nearby desk and opened the book up. She turned to the start of the first chapter and began reading. The book was about mental illnesses, she hadn't had a chance to read it yet but Sakura wondered if she would be able to find out why she was feeling how she was. Even if she couldn't figure out what was wrong with her she would make sure to memorise the book's contents.
Her eyes darted across the pages of the book as her mind worked on memorising all the information. She turned the page and blinked when she noticed that the next part was on depression. She didn't know for sure if she had it but hopefully she would be able to find out if there was a chance of her having it from this book.
'Depression is a mental state of low mood and aversion to activity. Classified medically as a mental and a behavioral disorder, the experience of depression affects a person's thoughts, behavior, motivation, feelings and sense of well being. The core symptom of depression is said to be anhedonia, which refers to loss of interest or a loss of feeling of pleasure in certain activities that usually bring joy to people. Depressed mood is a symptom of some mood disorders such as major depressive disorder or dysthymia; it is a normal temporary reaction to life events, such as the loss of a loved one; and it is also a symptom of some physical diseases and a side affect of some drugs and medical treatments. It may feature sadness, difficulty in thinking and concentration and a significant increase or decrease in appetite and time spent sleeping. People experiencing depression may have feelings of dejection, hopelessness and suicidal thoughts. It can either be short term or long term.'
So far Sakura couldn't quite tell if she was depressed or not so she decided to just continue reading. The book went on, explaining about possible causes in childhood that could cause someone to become depressed. It said a lot about being neglected or abused but Sakura had never been abused neither had she been neglected. Her parents were awesome and she loved them deeply, it saddened her that someone could go through something so terrible because of the ones who brought them into the world. Then again abuse and neglect don't always come from guardians, it can also come from complete strangers or other family members. It was horrible and Sakura shook her head and focused on the next part of the book, trying to ignore the dark thoughts that lingered deep in her mind.
If she was depressed then the most likely cause would be the deaths of her parents. She doubted the bullying she went through had affected her enough to make her depressed and even with her lack of friends she wasn't entirely on her own.. she had Inner after all.
Her tummy rumbled and the pinkette stood up from her seat with a sigh. She closed the book and carried it over to where Manami was sitting. The blue haired beauty smiled up at her, her eyes held warmth and Sakura couldn't help letting out a small smile of her own.
"You seemed very interested in that book Sakura-chan," She gestured to the book the young girl was holding. "I came up behind you at one point to clean the floor and you didn't even notice! Usually I wouldn't expect anyone to since cleaning doesn't cause too much noise but you always seem to know where I am and usually you would offer me small nod or a glance." Manami tended to notice even the smallest of details, Sakura thought she would of made quite the kunoichi if she had chosen that career path.
"Yes.. it's quite fascinating..." Sakura bit her bottom lip before continuing. "Could I take this book home with me? I haven't finished reading it yet and I'm not too sure when I can next come here.."
"Of course you can Sakura-chan! I just need to mark off that it's gone with you and then you can go, just make sure you return it once you're done with it... I think a week will be enough time for you to finish it, right?" The pinkette nodded and handed the book to the woman who read the title with a raised eyebrow. She looked at Sakura for a moment before shrugging and writing something down in a notebook. The forest eyed woman gave Sakura the book and waved her goodbye.
The bright rays of the twelve o'clock sun met Sakura's emerald eyes and the pinkette squinted. She blinked a few times to adjust to the light before starting on her journey to Yakiniku Q. She hadn't been to the restaurant since the first time she went and she would be lying if she said she didn't missed their delicious food.
She travelled to the restaurant and her mouth watered when the scent of food reached her nose. She entered the building and was guided over to a table by a man with dark hair and blue eyes. He said he would come back to get her order in a few minutes and smiled before rushing over to another table where a family of five were seated.
Sakura looked down at the menu in her hands and let out a quiet hum as she contemplated what to order. She had put the book she had gotten from the library on the seat next to her's. Sakura kept in mind that Inner was still asleep so in order to save money she should probably only order one plate of meat and some vegetables.
The male waiter came over to her, a smile plastered on his face as he asked her if she was ready to order. Sakura nodded her head and swallowed thickly before making her order.
"I-I'll have some beef a-and some steamed vegetables please.." She once again blamed her stuttering on her poor social skills.
"Ok, would you like something to drink?" The man asked, writing her order down on a small notepad he had in his hand.
"Mm.. maybe some tap water please?" He nodded, jotting one last thing down before sending her a bright smile and walking off. The little pinkette sighed as her shoulders slumped, she took a moment to look around to see if she could find Kata anywhere but it seemed that the woman wasn't on shift.
Sakura waited patiently for her food to come, she drummed her index fingers on the edge of the table she was sitting at and hummed a quiet tune. She heard someone chuckle and blushed in embarrassment before turning to see who it was.
There were three men sitting at the table behind her, one had his head down on the table, his face facing the window. She couldn't see his face from where she was sitting but she could see the green Jonin vest he was wearing under a brown coat. He had dark, spiky hair that was tied into a ponytail on top of his head and his skin was tanned. Sitting next to the man was a male with long, ash blonde hair that was tied into a ponytail. Much like his friend, this man had tanned skin and seemed to be a shinobi as well. The blonde haired man was sitting up and his light green eyes were staring at.. her... Sakura guessed he was the one who had laughed, the amused smile on his face supported her theory and Sakura bit her lip as she moved her emerald eyes over to examine the final man. He had turned in his seat to face her and the young girl's eyes immediately moved to look at his red hair. Her lips parted slightly as she looked at it. It was so.. long. She was sure the blonde haired man's was a similar length but the young girl had to say she preferred the fiery colour of this man's hair. He had peculiar, purple markings on his round face and the pinkette noticed that his skin was a lot paler compared to his friends'. She couldn't see what he was wearing from where she was sitting but she could tell that he was also a shinobi.
'Hmm..' Sakura refused to admit that it would of been a lot easier to identify the men if Inner was awake. The four year old decided to test her skills and searched her brain for any information on them, it couldn't be too hard for she was sure they were all from clans.
"Are you alright?" The blonde haired man asked her, seemingly noticing the concentrated look on her face. Sakura nodded but remained silent as she continued to think. She closed her eyes as a number of different clan symbols flashed in her mind.
'Y-Yama.. Yamano-no wait that's not right erm.. oh! Yamanka!' She opened her eyes and looked at the green eyed man. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern Yamanaka-sa- wait a minute.." She paused as her brows pulled together.
For some reason she felt like he was important. For some reason she felt like the three of them were important.. why? She asked herself as she tried desperately to find the answer.
"Are you sure? You don't look fine to me.." She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the lazy voice. She looked at the man with the dark hair, not noticing his friends doing the same. "Never mind.. I should of stayed silent.. what a drag.." He was sat up now and Sakura could see his face reasonably clearly. His eyes were a similar colour to his hair and he had two scars on the right side of his face. His ears were pierced and Sakura realised that both of his friends' were as well.
"Mm.. Gomen.. it's just that.. well you guys seem erm.. i-important for some reason.." The men shared a look with each other before focusing their gaze on the little girl.
"I'm Inoichi Yamanaka, nice to meet you!" The man smiled at her.
"Choza Akimichi," The red head said with a friendly smile.
".. Shikaku Nara.." He yawned lazily before closing his eyes. It took Sakura a few moments before her eyes widened slightly in realisation.
"Oh."
A/N: I just want to say that I know that the red hair thing is just a hair-piece but Sakura doesn't know that yet.
I wanted to do more this chapter but I kind of got carried away (I wasn't even expecting for Sakura to meet Choza, Inoichi and Shikaku but oh well).
By the way I used Wikipedia for the depressed thing- the amount of research I have done today is oof.
This chapter is so long oh my gosh!
Anyway, some of you know this but I have decided to let you guys pick the story/fanfic I'll be updating when I cannot update one of my stories that is already published. Please remember that this one won't be updated as often- only when I fail to update one of my other fanfics. Here are your options:
I love you, my little Rose:
Tick
Tock
Her heart ached to know what it was like to be loved. She had never known the feeling and she was curious as to how it felt.
Tick
She and her sister, Eri, had only ever known pain, fear and sadness. They had only known darkness and one day they both wished to see the light.
Tock
Tick
Y/N couldn't remember much about her life before the pain but there was something, a single phrase that ticked in her mind.
A clock chimed.
'I love you, my little Rose.'
Dark Side:
He had known as soon as he saw her eyes.
The dark shadow that was looming behind innocent emerald.
He had hoped that it wouldn't happen, but oh, it did.
Where Sakura Haruno is not what she seems and a clan head makes a deal with a certain snake. This is the mysterious and twisted tale of the Dark Side of Haruno Sakura.
Barry Otter? Shannaro!:
'Barry Otter? Shannaro! What kind of name is that?'
Both Inner and Outer Sakura had felt Inner's presence grow weak; however neither one of them ever expected her to be transported into someone else's mind.
An annoying voice shouting in his mind was certainly not what Harry needed but when darkness rises and he needs to find a way to deal with death the voice proves to be surprisingly useful.
Pleas of a Phoenix:
Her pleas rang through the night as fire burned down below. Flames swallowed her body and she screamed in torment as her eyes closed.
It felt like it had only been mere seconds before she opened her eyes again. When she did, she knew what had happened. She had been in a similar situation countless times before. Her ashes had come together and she had once again been reborn.
WARNING: This story will be told in in first person. Also this story includes gore so umm beware. -This is an OC in MHA by the way!
