"Oh." Sakura could safely say that she had never felt more humiliated, dumb and embarrassed as she did at this moment. She had almost called the head of the Yamanaka clan 'Yamanaka-san'.

She felt her cheeks heat up and she glanced up at the three men, unsure as to what she should say.

"I am so sorry for not recognising you all earlier! I-I didn't get much sleep last night and I haven't been in too good of a mood today because m-"

Inoichi interupted her nervous rambling with a kind yet amused smile on his face. "Don't fret over it young one. I'm surprised you even know who we are."

Sakura gasped before nodding her head. "Of course I know who you are! I've read all about different clans in books from the library and- well there wasn't really that much information in them but I understand that since it is important for clans to keep their secrets to themselves." She paused to catch her breath before continuing, this time more calmly. "The books did say that the Yamanaka specialise in mind related techniques. If I remember correctly, Yamanakas are experts in intelligence gathering, espionage and interrogation amongst other things. I suppose it's because of the mind techniques.. to be able to attack the mind means you have to understand it. You need to know how it works.." Her brows pulled together slightly as her voice grew more and more quiet.

The three men looked at her curiously as they listened to her talk. They were quite surprised that a child, especially one so young, could understand so much.

"I'm guessing that before they start practicing their clan's techniques and stuff, whoever is teaching them has to make sure they're mature enough and understand the human brain... Now that I think about it they probably have to understand how all brains work.. not just humans.. it would be extremely useful if they could take over a summons' body and report to that animal's master and gain information on their target. Their target would probably be the master of the animal who's body they overtook but still.." The words were escaping her small mouth at this point and her eyes were glazed over as if she wasn't truly where her physical body was.

"You ok?" Choza asked the small girl, placing a hand on her head. She tensed before looking into the Akimichi's kind eyes. She forced the muscles in her body to relax and blinked nervously as she turned her gaze to the Yamanaka.

"S-sorry about that.. I sometimes get a bit carried away.." The young girl scratched the back of her neck whilst looking off to the side sheepishly.

"Don't worry, I'm just surprised you know so much about my clan.. maybe our secrets have been leaked." Inoichi was joking but it took a moment for Sakura to realise this and she smiled shyly at him.

"You should probably turn around, your food should be here soon.." The Nara yawned. Emerald green eyes widened slightly and Sakura bowed her head to the three clan heads before turning back around in her seat.

Her food arrived and the three men left whilst she was enjoying her meal. It was surprising but Inner didn't wake up even when she was eating. She guessed her other half was either having a lazy day or was just particularly exhausted.

Sighing, the little pinkette stood up from her seat. She left the money for her meal on her table and exited the restaurant. Sakura still had a while until she needed to get ready for her dinner with the Uchihas so she decided to go to her clearing and spend some time training.

She started off by meditating, focusing on moving her chakra around her body. It took her a few moments to get a hold on her chakra but she managed to in the end. She memorised the way her chakra flowed, familiarising herself with how it felt. Eventually she ended her meditation and summoned healing chakra into her hands.

She smiled softly at the familiar sensation the green chakra brought her. The four year old dismissed the medical chakra and got out a kunai. She cut open the palm of her right hand and put down the weapon before hovering her left hand over the wound. A soft emerald, green glow surrounded her uninjured hand and the pinkette's brows furrowed as she focused on stitching the skin of her right palm back together. It was a simple exercise and one she had done many times before but Sakura wanted to make sure she was confident in her abilities before moving on to mending a broken bone or to removing poison from somebody's system.

After that she went through some katas, sparring against an invisible opponent. Every time her 'opponent' landed a hit on her she cut herself with her kunai. It stung but she held back her tears. If her imaginary opponent was real then their hits would hurt more. She spent an hour fighting against an enemy only she could see and by the end of it her clothes clung to her body, soaked with sweat. She ended her training session by doing some stretches whilst standing on the underside of a branch of a tree.

She then started on her way home, she got a few odd stares- most likely because of her battered appearance- but she ignored them. When she arrived at her house the first thing she did was rush upstairs, into her bedroom. She got undressed before entering the bathroom and having a nice, long, warm shower. Her muscles ached and the cuts on her arms and legs stung as she struggled to wash herself but she managed in the end.

She stepped out of the shower with a sigh and wrapped a towel around her body. She dried herself off before going into her room. The four year old got dressed into a rouge pink top that had a fish- scale pattern on it. The skirt she donned was navy and white and it ended just above her knees. She had on black shorts underneath the skirt and wore white, knee-high socks that had black bows on them.

Sakura brushed her pastel pink locks before tying her hair up into bunches using black ribbons. The ribbons in her hair were tied into bows and Sakura smiled proudly as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror. Usually she wouldn't dress up like this but she thought that the occasion of going over to have dinner with the Uchiha main family was reason enough to do so. It was also an added plus that she could wear these clothes since Yui had bought them for her when they went shopping.

It was nearly four o'clock and the pinkette decided to head out to purchase some more bandages. She put on her black ninja sandals before leaving her house.

The young pinkette hummed happily as she walked through Konohagakure with a bag full of medical supplies in hand. She had meant to only get a few rolls of bandages but the prices were lower then usual and she had gotten a bit carried away..

She arrived back at her house and dropped off the medical supplies she had bought. She then decided to start heading over to the Uchiha Clan's compound. It wasn't five o'clock yet but the pinkette didn't think Mikoto would mind her arriving a little early.

~{*.*}~

She arrived at the front of the compound and inhaled deeply before entering. She earnt herself quite a few stares but the four year old ignored it. Sakura sauntered towards the grand house where the head of the Uchiha clan lived. She knocked on the door and waited a few moments before looking up as the door opened to reveal Itachi.

"Hello Sakura-san." He greeted, holding the door open for her. Sakura nodded her head in thanks before stepping inside. "I'm afraid Shisui and Sasuke are out at the moment." He closed the front door.

The pinkette nodded her head in response, staying silent.

"Oh! Sakura-chan's here!" Mikoto exclaimed, appearing out of nowhere and pulling Sakura into a hug. "How have you been? You look absolutely adorable!"

Sakura blushed at the compliment. "I-I've been alright thank you.."

The beautiful woman smiled at her before looking at her eldest son. "Itachi-kun, why don't you take Sakura-chan into the living room? I'm still making dinner but I'm sure your brother and Shisui will be back soon." After she said this she disappeared again and Sakura turned to look at Itachi.

"Follow me." He lead her into the living room and they both sat down, an awkward silence between them.

Feeling uncomfortable Sakura decided to try and start a conversation with the eight year old. This was, of course, quite rare since the little girl preferred not to socialise.

"I-I would of thought that you would go with Sasuke-san and Shisui-san.." The Uchiha turned his head to look at her, his expression telling her nothing of how he was feeling. "Not because of any particular reason.. just because w-well... Sasuke-san seems very fond of you.." She stared at the floor.

Silence enveloped them once again and Sakura was frustrated with herself for her poor attempt at starting a conversation. When she had joined the Uchihas at the park she hadn't needed to converse with the older boy for Sasuke kept dragging her around. She knew that Sasuke looked up to his older brother and that Itachi loved him very much but she didn't really understand all that much about their relationship. The pinkette didn't have any siblings, she was an only child and now she was also an orphan. The closest thing to a sibling she had was Inner but it still wasn't the same. Her and Inner were the same but still two different beings. She was Outer Sakura and Inner was Inner Sakura, they were two halves of a whole. With Inner she was more comfortable, not just because she had company but also because she had information. Inner's gift allowed them to be able to go into situations knowing a great deal of knowledge that could help them deal with whatever predicament they found themselves in. Today, Inner was resting somewhere at the back of their mind and so it was up to Sakura to deal with everything on her own. She knew that she couldn't rely on her other half all the time but the truth was she was scared. It was an unfamiliar feeling but it was true, she hated being in situations where she knew nothing, in fact she loathed it, but she didn't have a choice. Inner deserved rest and she would just have to suck it up and deal with it. She still hoped that Shisui and Sasuke would arrive soon though, she wasn't sure how much longer she could last in the presence of Itachi alone.

".. My Otouto made a fuss but mother insisted I rest since I haven't been getting much sleep recently." Sakura's eyes widened slightly, she didn't expect that Itachi would respond. She bit her bottom lip, thinking over her next words.

"I see, do you know where they went?" The male hummed.

"I believe my cousin took Sasuke to the park."

"Hmm.. you are a ninja, right Itachi-san?" The boy nodded. "Do you know any ninjutsu?" She already knew the answer but she was trying not to act too much like she had access to all the information in the world and she had observed the way other children act; they always ask dumb questions.

"Yes."

"What about genjutsu? Your clan is known for erm.. being able to cast powerful ones, right?"

"Yes. I know a selection of genjutsu." He leaned his head back so he could look at the ceiling of the room they were in.

"That's cool. Does Sasuke-san know any?" She doubted he would but it would still be interesting to find out.

"No."

"What about Shisui-san?"

"Shisui knows quite a few as well. He is older then me and so he has had longer to learn." Sakura nodded.

"Itachi-san?" Said boy turned to look at her. "What is your father like? I imagine clan heads are usually quite strict and sensible however the three I met earlier were polite enough. Is your father similar to them?"

The boy blinked. He wasn't too sure how to answer the young girl's question. His father was certainly both strict and sensible and as leader of the Uchiha, his father was focused on the clan's interest and welfare and had a strong sense of responsibility. Sasuke probably saw him as a stern and uncaring man since he didn't spend much time with him. Of course, this was because Fugaku spent much of his time focusing on his development since he was the heir. Fugaku was only impressed by great feats and rarely praised anyone, having high expectations. He hardly smiled and so to people outside the clan who saw him he probably came off as cold and unfeeling.

He didn't want to make the pink haired girl nervous and so instead of answering her question he asked her one of his own.

"You've met three clan heads?" The four year old blinked and her brows drew together.

'I probably shouldn't have mentioned that..'

A/N: Hello... erm yeah.. so I know that this probably wasn't a long enough conversation between Itachi and Sakura however I have several moments with them together planned so don't worry my lovely readers.

As you guys probably know, similar to the anime as a kid Sakura is quite timid and in cannon she doesn't come out of her shell until she befriends Ino which of course hasn't exactly happened in this story (as of yet). She will probably remain more of an introvert so I hope you guys don't mind that hehe.
