Inner wasn't sure if she was having some kind of weird dream or if what she was seeing was some of Sakura's memories. As far as she was aware she was seeing things from her Outer's point of view. In front of her- Sakura- whatever- was the Uchiha boy with hair that resembled a duck's behind. The boy had dragged her- Sakura- them- to his room and had shown them his new toys. Honestly, Inner wasn't all that interested in seeing his toys and waited impatiently for whatever dream she was having to move on. After a while of whatever- Inner had mostly ignored whatever was going on- the two began playing with the Uchiha's toys.

Inner was still unsure whether she was asleep or if she was just getting a run-over of what happened whilst she had been asleep. The whole memory thing was utterly confusing and she couldn't even begin to explain the whole ordeal for it was way too mind-muddling.

Sakura hadn't played with toys all that much when she was younger and the pinkette still hadn't developed an interest in such things. Inner also didn't understand the point of them. She knew that they were used to mainly entertain children but she never really played with them when she was in control of their body. Occasionally Inner Sakura would spawn stuffed animals in their mindscape but all she ever really did with them was cuddle them. She was particularly fond of giant ones. She enjoyed snuggling up to them and falling asleep, her face nuzzled in the fluff of the toy.

Anyway, she found herself immersed in the land that Outer Sakura and the Uchiha had created.

"Hokage-sama, I have a report from the squad you sent out to find clues as to who snuck into the file room." Sasuke said, his voice low in an attempt to imitate what he imagined the Anbu action figure he held in his hand sounded like. In his other hand, he held the Hokage (the action figure version of course.) and both toys were facing each other.

"Very good." Sasuke's voice changed slightly as he moved the Hokage. "Please continue."

"There are puddles of water in the file room and the documents that are still there are soaked."

Slowly the make-believe world came to life in front of Inner's eyes and Sasuke was no longer controlling the action figures.

"Any clues as to who the culprit is?" The Hokage asked as he sat behind his desk.

"Not yet Hokage-sama." The Anbu's face was hidden by his mask and as a result, Sarutobi was unable to see the male's expression.

"Alright, please notify me of any progress." The Anbu bowed before disappearing in a flurry of leaves.

One of the file rooms in the Hokage Tower had been infiltrated and multiple documents had been stolen. It was a mystery as to how it had happened since the room was heavily guarded.

Whilst several Anbu were trying to find out what had happened, three genin were patiently waiting for their Sensei to arrive. They were meant to be having a training session; however, their Sensei was running late.

"This is so annoying!" The female member of the team groaned. "Why can't we just leave?"

She was leaning against a tree, slouching as her pink, glossed lips formed a pout.

"C'mon Harumi," Takumi said, a soft smile on his face, "be a little more patient. Sensei should be here soon."

The green haired girl let out another groan, her pout deepening.

"Easy for you to say! Hanae and Yoshiko are going shopping today and I have to miss it because our stupid Sensei made us have a training session today!"

"I wouldn't call him stupid Harumi, he might be listening in on us, he does tend to enjoy doing that after all." Hideo Uchiha spoke for the first time since the conversation had started, getting up from his place on the ground. "Besides, if you want to do something then we can at least spend this time usefully and train."

Seeing no reason to argue, Harumi Chiba sighed and stood up straight, taking her weight off of the tree. "Fine let's do some stretches and run a few laps before sparring."

Just as she reached her dark haired teammate, Takumi Abiko spoke up again.

"Did you guys forget something?"

The boy's teammates turned to look at him, standing still.

"We aren't allowed to do any unsupervised fighting unless given permission." Harumi and Hideo tensed, realisation dawning on them. "I mean, we probably would still be able to if not for what.. happened..."

The three genin all thought back to the event.

~{*.*}~

The sun had been shining and there hadn't been a single cloud in the blue sky. The three of them had been walking through the village, Harumi chatting merrily as her male teammates listened silently. She was telling them both about how she had visited an old friend who had dropped out of the academy after her family's business went bankrupt and she was forced to marry some rich guy.

Her friend, Ine Ikeda, was nice but she didn't get to see her too often since she moved away from the village to live near to where her fiancé was. Ine was reasonably pretty, yellow hair that went down to her waste and pale green eyes along with peach skin. Harumi had been shocked when she saw her friend, who knew someone could change so much in such a short amount of time?

From a tomboy who always wore her hair in two plaits and wore an orange crop top and white, baggy leggings along with the standard blue ninja sandals to someone completely different. No longer did Ine snort when laughing, no longer did she spend ours out in the woods. No more tiring training sessions that ended with them being covered in mud, no more sugary treats after they cleaned up. They had been the closest of friends for years but when reunited over a year later, Harumi barely recognised the girl. High-quality kimonos and too many pairs of shoes to count. Her hair was shiny and soft, well taken care of and her skin was also soft, the callouses she had gotten faded from multiple creams. No longer was the girl loud and cheerful. She instead was reserved and well-mannered.

Though Harumi did pause to awe at her, she couldn't help but miss the old Ine. The only thing that the green haired female recognised was the white necklace the girl wore around her neck.

"Hey, you ok Harumi?" The female blinked her large, brown eyes, coming out of whatever daze she had been in. She hadn't even realised that they had stopped walking she had been so lost in thought.

"Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine." She sent Takumi, who had been the one to ask the question, a smile and skipped ahead, oblivious to the look the two boys shared.

They reached the girl's home and she smiled at her friends.

"Meet you guys at the training ground later!" She waved goodbye before hurrying inside her house. The three had planned to spend the afternoon training. They didn't have training with their Sensei so after a filling lunch, they had decided to do some training.

They would have gone straight to the training grounds but each of them had something to do beforehand and so the three decided that they should meet back at their training ground once they had completed what they needed to.

The two boys continued walking once their female teammate disappeared from their sight. They reached Takumi's house and the Uchiha stopped walking and frowned in confusion when the ginger haired male continued past his home.

"Where are you going?" Hideo asked causing his friend to turn around to face him.

"I have an errand to run. You go do what you need to and I'll see you at the training ground." The Uchiha watched his friend walk away and sighed before heading to his clan's compound.

Roughly a half hour later, Hideo and Harumi found themselves waiting for their third teammate. To help pass time Hideo played with the greenette's short hair and the female put up with it as she got out some nail polish from her pouch and began painting her nails. The polish was a pretty pink colour that Harumi thought would suit her splendidly.

By the time she had painted all of her fingernails and they had dried, Takumi had finally arrived. The ginger haired male had his sword in its sheath and Hideo and Harumi realised that their teammate hadn't used his sword in a while.

"Hey guys!" He exclaimed as he approached them.

"Hey Takumi! What took you so long?" Harumi asked as she and Hideo stood up from where they had been sitting.

"Sorry, I just had a errand to run.." The ginger haired boy smiled as he talked, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.

"Whatever, let's just start." Hideo said.

The three genin began stretching and did a couple laps around the training ground before getting in position to do a three-way spar.

They charged at each other, a giant fireball emerging from Hideo's mouth. His two teammates jumped back, avoiding the jutsu and Harumi flung three shuriken at each of her teammates before focusing her chakra.

Takumi froze and looked around in confusion. He was sure he had been at the training grounds with Harumi and Hideo, so why did he now find himself alone in the middle of a desert? He frowned then blinked as he realised that his female teammate must have caught him in a genjutsu. He closed his eyes and focused on disrupting his chakra flow. His eyebrows drew together as a bead of sweat rolled down his face.

"Kai!" He shouted before opening his brown eyes. He stared, open-mouthed at the jungle surrounding him. 'Are you kidding me, Harumi?'

Meanwhile, Harumi and Hideo were engaged in a fierce taijustsu battle. They were moving as fast as they could, dodging and blocking each other's blows. Hideo managed to land a punch to Harumi's jaw and the girl fell back with a grunt. She panted as she looked up at the Uchiha, ignoring her aching jaw. The boy stood above her, also panting and the greenette quickly slid into a crouch, sticking her left leg out as she turned, trying to sweep Hideo's feet out from under him. The male stumbled back but managed to keep his footing. This gave Harumi enough time to stand up and she hurriedly ran over to her teammate who was still stuck in the genjutsu she had cast.

She grabbed the hilt of his sword and pulled it out of the sheath. Her brown orbs took in the shine of the Tachi and Harumi could tell that the blade had been sharpened and polished.

She heard Hideo approach her and quickly got to work on the plan she had formulated in her mind. She waved the sword in her hands back and forth and smirked when Hideo's gaze fell to the weapon. He was now caught in her genjutsu. The genjutsu she was using activates when the target sees the sword being waved around. It causes them to hallucinate multiple arms waving around swords, out to slash them.

Just as she was about to unleash an attack on the Uchiha she heard a pained grunt come from behind her. Harumi turned around and her brown eyes widened when she saw Takumi crouching, his hand grasping a kunai that was stuck in his thigh.

"What in the- Takumi!" She frowned.

The male looked up at her, his face serious.

"It's your fault for trapping me in a genjutsu." He shrugged. "You know how terrible my chakra control is, I managed to free myself from the first layer you cast but the second wasn't so easy."

"So you resorted to stabbing yourself?" Harumi deadpanned.

The ginger haired boy at least had the decency to look sheepish.

"Y'know what, stay there, I think I have some bandages in my pouch." The girl searched through her things and smiled when she found what she was looking for. She tossed the roll of bandages at Takumi who smiled in thanks.

She rolled her eyes in response before letting out a screech as she was tackled onto the ground. She looked up to see Hideo straddling her, his eyes blazing. He had his sharingan activated and Harumi frowned up at him.

"That's not fair y'know." She said.

He smiled in response before his eyes widened as Harumi headbutted him. He hissed and fell away from the female who blinked to try and clear the stars from her vision. The greenette stood up and noticed that Takumi's Tachi wasn't in her possession anymore.

"Thanks for the bandages, Harumi." She turned to face her ginger haired teammate and only just managed to catch the roll of bandages that came flying towards her. "I also appreciate you dropping my Tachi."

His smile was unnerving and Harumi felt a shiver run down her spine.

"I don't appreciate you taking my sword though." His eyes were closed as he smiled and Harumi gulped.

In a flash the boy was charging towards her, sword at the ready.

Harumi managed to dodge but Takumi didn't let her catch her breath before he was on her again, trying to nick her with his sword as she danced around his attacks.

Hideo joined as the third party, announcing his arrival with a small dragon made out of fire. His teammate's jumped away from each other as the dragon separated them.

"Hey! Sensei said you're not allowed to use that jutsu when he's not present!" Harumi yelled as she dodged the fire dragon.

"Yeah, isn't it dangerous?" Takumi rolled out of the way of the fire creature's tail.

"The original might be but I modified it so it won't turn you into a pile of ash upon contact. The worst it'll do is give you a nasty burn and possibly light your hair on fire or make you go bold."

"What!" Harumi shrieked, covering her hair with her hands as she dodged another one of the fire dragon's attacks.

"If you're so worried about it then just don't let the dragon touch you."

"You sound like a psychopath, Hideo." Takumi stated.

"Oh," the boy blinked. "sorry!"

He smiled and the cute expression on his face didn't match the flaming inferno of a dragon that he had unleashed on his friends. Harumi groaned, her legs were beginning to hurt and her hair was mess. The dragon crashed into a tree as Takumi jumped away from it. The ginger haired male was panting heavily and he had scorch marks all over his form.

The tree lit ablaze and Takumi gaped. Behind him, Harumi's jaw hit the floor as she stared at the burning tree with wide eyes.

"I thought you said that the dragon wouldn't kill us!" She screamed at her dark haired teammate who was also staring at the tree.

He sniffed. "It seems that I have lost control of the jutsu." Hideo said calmly.

"What?" Harumi roared.

"Well, the dragon is meant to disappear after coming in contact with something and as you saw it touched that tree. The dragon should only be able create a scorch mark on whatever it comes in contact with, even with something as flammable as wood. But as you just witnessed, it seems that the effects of the jutsu have strengthened and I am pretty sure that the dragon is still here."

Just as Hideo finished speaking, a loud roar sounded from behind Harumi and the girl screeched, attaching herself to Takumi's arm as the fiery creature made itself known. It had grown in size and the three genins screamed before darting off, the dragon following behind them.

They ended up racing through the village, jumping from rooftop to rooftop as they tried to escape the blazing animal chasing after them. As they ran, the three genin dodged in and out of its attacks. Harumi let out a cry of pain as the dragon managed to burn her arm as she and her teammates ran across a rooftop. The three dropped down, into a garden and ignored the screaming woman who yelled at them to 'get off her roses'. They jumped up, onto the roof of her house as a loud roar echoed behind them.

The woman screamed and as the three darted through Konohagakure, a dragon on their tail, many civilians screeched in horror as they stared at the destruction that followed.

"What are we going to do?" Takumi yelled over the noise the dragon was making.

"How am I supposed to know?" Hideo panted as they ran.

"You're the one who created it!" Harumi screamed as the wall they had jumped down from crumbled as the dragon charged after them.

"I told you already, it's out of control!"

Hideo glanced behind him and his eyes widened when he slipped and landed on the ground. He turned around tried his best to crawl away from the creature. His teammates appeared to notice that he was no longer running and turned back to find their teammate staring up at the dragon with wide eyes, fear radiating off his form.

"Hideo!" They screamed and the Uchiha closed his eyes tightly.

A few seconds passed and the boy didn't feel any pain. He inhaled deeply and frowned when he realised that he was still alive. He was relieved of course but, how was he still alive? He was sure that the dragon was coming straight at him, its large mouth opened wide, its sharp teeth prepared to bite down on him.

Hideo opened his eyes. He was met by the sight of a bunch of Anbu. Two were standing protectively in front of him whilst three were warding off the dragon. The Uchiha's face scrunched up in confusion as he looked at the creature.

"Hideo!" He turned to look behind him and before he could blink, Harumi had her arms around his neck. He looked over the greenette's shoulder to see his other teammate.

"Are you alright?" Takumi asked him.

Hideo nodded in response.

"Yeah.." He said. "I think so."

He swallowed. Harumi pulled away from him, sniffing as tears ran down her face. Hideo blinked. He had never see his female teammate cry before, she was usually quite cheerful.. and annoyingly smug.

"You're such an idiot!" She cried. "How dare you make me worry about you like that!"

The girl slapped his cheek before standing up.

"Honestly, you boys will be the death of me." The brown eyed female crossed her arms, closing her eyes as she turned her body away from them.

"Thanks for worrying, Harumi." Hideo smiled as he looked at the girl.

"I was not worried!" She huffed.

"I'll be escorting you three to the Hokage's office." The anbu with the rabbit mask said, turning the three genins' attention towards him.

"Are you sure that's safe?" Harumi asked, uncrossing her arms. "I mean that thing over there is pretty ferocious." She pointed towards the beast that had been pursuing them previously.

"Yes. Now please follow me."

The three did as they were told and allowed the Anbu member to lead them to the Hokage Tower. They were led up to the leader of their village's office but were stopped before they could go any further.

"Stay here until you are allowed inside." The Anbu then entered the Hokage's office but closed the door before any of the genins could sneak a peek at the inside of the room.

It was silent for a moment before Harumi spoke up.

"Ya think we're in trouble?"

They ended up having to wait until their Sensei arrived and when he did, they were allowed inside the Hokage's office. The Hokage had asked them to go over what had happened and so the three began recounting the day's earlier events. After their explanation, they were forbidden from fighting unsupervised unless they had permission. Hideo was also never allowed to use the jutsu he had before ever again. The three of them were then dismissed, leaving their red haired Sensei with the Hokage.

~{*.*}~

Hideo and Harumi groaned, they had forgotten about that.

The three genin ended up stretching and then sat down to wait for their Sensei to arrive.

In the Hokage Tower an Anbu with a rabbit mask 'poofed' into existence. He was bowing and waited until he had the Hokage's attention to stand up straight.

"Sir, we have discovered that Anbu member Cho Amamiya, Monkey, is being held captive."

The old man sitting behind his desk frowned.

"Explain."

"Upon closer inspection, we found a hidden message. We discovered that Monkey was taken by trolls."
