Hey gang! Decided to write something a little different instead of my usual fare. I've always liked Hanna-Barbera cartoons, since I grew up with Boomerang/Cartoon Network, but I haven't wanted to write about one until now. The inspiration behind this fic was actually from the newest season of the hilarious new HB cartoon, "Jellystone" (I might even write my own fanfic about that later).
In said new season, like many HB originals, they (re)introduce Tubb, one of the characters from the original "Moby Dick and Mighty Mightor" cartoon. When I first saw the character I was all "…who the hell is this chubby little German scuba boy? And why's he so funny?" Then I remembered he was also in "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated" alongside his friend, Tom, so I did some research and saw some of the 60's cartoon episodes (in which said scuba boy didn't have an accent).
The original cartoon was alright—in my opinion it could be a little funnier, and I love the concept of two kids and their giant, white whale and seal friend hangin' out and exploring the ocean. But then I thought since I have a FanFiction account, I'd write it my own way. And that's exactly what I've done. It's a bit more faithful to the OG, but with my own brand of humor, adventure, action and even a little drama. Plus, I totally love sea life. I hope you enjoy it!
