Hello everyone, welcome to the rewriting of Ash's Unova journey, my version. This chapter will combine the first two chapters of my original story. By the time chapter 37 comes out, everything will be fixed and up to date. With that said, let's get started.
Chapter 1: Arrival in Unova, a new journey begins, and a new rival
appears.
"Human Speech"
"Pokemon Speech"
Pokemon's world is full of new and mysterious creatures." The narrator says things turn to a certain boy and his Pikachu, who is on a plane heading on a new adventure with his close friends he knew from since the start of his Journey.
"Man, I can't wait to start a new Journey in the Unova region," Ash says as he looks outside the plane at the region itself.
"You can say that again, Ash, especially since it's been years since we last traveled together," Misty says. Misty is now away from her duties as a gym leader on this Journey with Ash and Brock after being a gym leader for over three years. At the same time, her sisters were away on their trip around the world. Ash nodded in agreement.
"It has been a long time since we've been together, and I hope we can use this time together and not argue a lot between you two," Brock said to the two as the two chuckled.
"Look, the whole bike thing is in the past now, and right now, just being around both of you makes me happy," Misty says to Ash and Brock.
"Though I hope that we don't get lost like usual," Ash says, which makes Brock sigh.
"Fair point Ash," Brock said to Ash, knowing that would happen at some point in the Journey.
The group overheard the pilot announce over the intercom. "Attention, passengers, we will arrive at Nuvema town shortly. This starting place of the Unova region, please put all belonging in the baggage space and keep seatbelts fastened as we will be landing in a bit."
Ash and the passengers looked out the window to see many birds and other wild Pokemon in the distance that Ash had never seen before and was more hyped than ever. "Pikachu, our Journey starts today from this day once we get off the plane," Ash said enthusiastically, and Pikachu nodded in agreement.
"I agree. I can't wait to make new friends," Pikachu said, knowing that this would be a fun adventure and ready to make new friends along the Journey.
The plane landed on the water and settled at the port of Nuvema Town as the passengers got off. Ash, Misty, and Brock left the plane shortly after everyone departed. They noticed a research lab on top of a hill similar to Professor Oaks's lab.
"The Professor did say that one of his professor friends was in a lab in Town. That must be it," Ash said. Misty and Brock nodded as the group walked toward the Pokemon lab. The group noticed many new Pokemon were watching and eyeing the group.
"Man, look at them all," Misty says. Ash noticed them as well.
"Yep, so many I've never seen before. Though some of them I can probably tell their typings just by looking at them." Ash saw Pokemon like Deerlings and Pidovs. Even some water Pokemon like Alamola.
"Now that looks like a Luvdisc wonder if it evolves from it," Ash says.
Ash and the others arrived at the lab. They noticed a young female professor was getting things ready for a new trainer to come. "Ah, you must be the Professor of the lab I'm taking," Ash says to the Professor as she turns around.
"Ah, you must be Ash. Professor Oak told me that you would be arriving here in Nuvema town at some point today didn't expect you to have friends with you." The Professor says in a happy tone.
"Nice to meet you," the group says to her. "You got that right. I am Ash Ketchum, and my friends are also gym leaders back in Kanto, Misty, and Brock." Ash introduced.
"My name is Professor Juniper. Nice to meet you, and I have taken that this Pokemon is yours, Ash?." The Professor asked, and Ash nodded.
"Yeah, this is my starter and partner, Pikachu. It's a long story, and I don't think you want to hear about that," Ash said, trying not to talk about his past when he started his Journey.
The Professor was about to say something, but she heard a voice mention her name. A young boy with dirt blond hair walked in, ignoring Ash and the gang standing there. "Hey, that was rude," Misty said, annoyed.
"Sorry, have no time for boonies," the young man said to Misty, who was about to say something when Ash stopped her.
"Easy, Misty, we don't want to cause a fight here. We just came here, and we shouldn't make him believe that all Kanto trainers are like this," Ash says, which manages to calm her down, and the young boy is impressed.
"Okay, I'll admit that I was harsh there. Sorry about that. I just wanted to get my first starter and start my Journey." He turned to the group.
"Names Ash Ketchum and these are my friends from Kanto, Misty and Brock, former gym leaders." As Ash continued, this shocked the new trainer about gym leaders outside their retrospective gyms. "They're on vacation for the time being, and taking time off from their duties is nice, especially since they aren't the only ones running the gym."
"I see that makes sense now, the name Trip. I'm actually from this Town. My dream is to be the strongest trainer here in Unova," Trip nodded as he introduced himself to Ash and the others as Ash nodded.
"As long as you don't go overboard with the training, you'll get there for the five years I've been a trainer. Most people push their Pokemon too far," Ash said to Trip, who nodded.
"I agree that I want to be strong but not reckless like that. I want to be strong like the Champion of the region one day, but I know that I will have a long way to go," Trip said to Ash Ash noticed that Trip is arrogant like Paul but does know what is right and wrong.
"That's a reasonable goal, Trip, but it doesn't hurt to take advice from others. Ash has been through multiple leagues and has dealt with many types of trainers," Brock said to Trip, who nodded. Trip was interested in how strong Ash was.
The Professor interrupts, "Sorry to butt in, but we have a business to do, like showing Trip the Pokemon he will choose for his first Pokemon."
"Ah, right. Sorry about that, Professor Juniper." Ash apologized. The Professor takes one of the three pokeballs off the table.
"First is the fire starter, Tepig," The Professor lets out a fire-like pig Pokemon.
"Please pick me," he said happily.
"Next is the water starter Oshawott" The Professor let out the Pokemon, an otter-like Pokemon.
"Please pick me; I want a trainer," he said pleadingly.
"And lastly, the grass starter Snivy." The Professor lets out the Pokemon, a snake-like Pokemon. "Please take me," He said with a smug look showing that he was an excellent choice, making the two starters unhappy with him.
"Such a show-off," Tepig says, annoyed by how Snivy acted.
"You don't know the half of it," Oshawott says.
"Come on, Oshawott, maybe he's the trainer you might get or the other's standing there," Snivy told him.
"I'll take Snivy. He seems strong; nothing against these two, but I feel that Snivy here will help me with my goal of being the strongest trainer of Unova." Trip says as he picks his starter. Snivy smiled at this thought. He hoped the others would've been chosen, especially Oshawott, but more needs to be done about it. This made Oshawott upset and Tepig mad. This was the third trainer that Oshawott was turned down as of late. As Oshawott was looking at Ash which Snivy mentioned, and did see a good trainer in Ash.
"Say, Ash, is it? Would you mind a battle with me?" Trip Asked Ash.
"Huh? Sure, I'll be happy to battle, but the only one I have here is Pikachu, who, too, is my starter," Ash says to Trip, who nods in understanding.
"I understand, but if your friends here say that you are strong, I want to find that out for myself to see if you are worthy of being a rival to me." Trip explains, to which Ash nods.
"I accept, but just a heads up, this doesn't mean I'll go easy on you since you asked me to show you how strong Pikachu is," Ash said to Trip, who nodded in agreement.
"There's a battlefield behind the lab if you two want to use it." The Professor says to both Ash and Trip. "Thanks, Professor, that will work fine for me." Trip says Ash accepted that offer.
The five of them went to the back of the lab. Oshawott watched at a distance to see the battle. Ash and Trip went to the trainer's box, and Brock decided to be the Referee of the battle.
"This'll be a one-on-one fight, as both trainers agreed. The match is over when one Pokemon is from either side. Is unable to battle," Brock announced.
"Alright, Pikachu, let's go," as Pikachu ran out to the battlefield. "Snivy, let's go," Trip sends out his starter, eager for a fight. Ash knew that Snivy being a grass type, that electric moves won't work well but would save volt'sVolt tackle for the very end.
"We're ready whenever you are, Trip," Ash said to which Trip nodded.
"Bring it, Ash." Trip said to Ash, knowing that this would be a big battle between the two of them for his first battle.
"Pikachu vs. Snivy, let the battle begin," Brock says.
"We'll let you go first, Trip," Ash announced, to which Trip nodded.
"Alright, use Vine Whip Snivy," Trip commanded. Snivy sent out its two vines toward Pikachu.
"Dodge with a Quick Attack Pikachu." Pikachu moved so fast that the vines couldn't catch up and landed a hit on Snivy, sending him back. As fast as the Snivy line was known for, that was faster than anything Trip's Snivy had seen.
"Not bad, "Trip's Snivy says to Pikachu, who smiles at the compliment.
"Use leaf blade." Trip commands which Snivy's tail glowed a greenish-yellow color.
"Counter it with Iron Tail," Ash commands. Pikachu managed to land a blow-for-blow with Snivy for a newly picked starter Snivy was putting up an excellent fight to impress both Ash and Pikachu." Good, Trip. I must say you know what you're doing in battle." Ash praised Trip.
"Heh, I've seen battles before, so I'm well aware of how they work and what you are doing, or are you scared to use an Electric attack on my starter." Trip says.
Ash shook his head. "Nope, just saving it for the right time," Ash said to Trip saving his secret weapon in Volt Tackle for when the time was right.
"Well, then I'll have to drag it out of you. Use Leaf Tornado." Trip commands Snivy, sending a massive storm of leaves toward Pikachu.
"Seems like that's his best move for now, aside from leaf blade. End this use Volt tackle."Ash commands Pikachu, which catches both Snivy and Trip off guard, as Trip has never heard of that move before. Pikachu dodged each leaf sent toward him, heading straight for Snivy.
"Fight back with Leaf blade quickly." Sadly Snivy couldn't power up his tail in time as Pikachu managed to land the decisive blow on Snivy, sending him flying to the tree behind Trip and knocking Snivy out cold.
"No, Snivy!" Trip said, surprised that was a knockout blow for his starter.
"Snivy is unable to battle Pikachu wins," Brock announced.
"You did great, buddy," Ash said, congratulating his partner Pikachu, who nodded.
"Yeah, won't lie, that was a fun but somewhat tough battle,' Pikachu said Oshawott was impressed by this after seeing this. The two of them noticed that Trip was helping Snivy up, even giving Snivy an excellent job for his first battle.
"Ash, I must admit I was way over my head in that battle." Trip admitted.
"Not bad for a first-timer, but get stronger and try to do things the way your Pokemon would want, and you'll get there," Ash says respectfully. Trip nods.
"I'll take that advice to heart, Ash, but I won't lose next time we battle. After all, a rival always wants to battle those he deems worthy of one." Trip says in a friendlier tone.
"Just remember that losing isn't the end of the world. It's just the beginning of what makes you a trainer," Ash said to Trip as Juniper agreed.
"Ash is right. Even champions had rough starts or have lost a few battles as regular trainers," Juniper said to Trip, looking down and smiling.
"Yeah, I'll take that to heart," Trip said to Ash and Juniper, knowing they were right.
"I hope we battle one day and have a good battle again," Snivy said to Pikachu, nodding.
"Same, and I feel we will see each other more often than usual, as rivals usually do," Pikachu said to Snivy and offered a handshake which Snivy accepted.
Trip leaves the lab just as Oshawott exits his hiding spot to ask Ash something. "Huh? Oshawott, what are you doing out here?" Juniper said.
"I want to join this trainer's team," Oshawott asked though Juniper could tell what Oshwaott wanted.
"You want to join my team Oshawott' Ash asked to which Oshawott nodded yes.
"I'm surprised that you want to join our team Oshawott. Most starters usually want to either battle or refuse to join at the beginning, but you're the first who wants to join right away,' Pikachu explains to Oshawott, who looks down and sighs.
"I got tired of being passed as a starter by other trainers, and I want to be stronger than Snivy there and better than him one day," Oshawott explained to Pikachu. Ash can tell that Oshawott is like him a little bit.
"Are you okay with me taking him, Professor?" Ash asked Juniper, to which the Professor nodded.
"Why not? I mean, he's been here for the last three trainers who rather pick Tepig and Snivy." As Juniper pulls out Oshawott's Pokeball to hand to Ash.
"Welcome to the team Oshawott," Ash said to the water starter, who nodded at Ash and smiled. His dream of having a trainer is now a reality as Ash returns, Oshawott.
Ash got registered at the lab for the Unova League. "Well, Ash, you are now registered. The first gym is the Striaton City gym, two cities away from here." Juniper explains as she handed Ash his new Pokedex for the Unova region.
"Thank you, Professor, and we'll do our best to get far in the league," Ash thanked Juniper, who nodded.
"Best of luck with that, Ash, as this region has a lot tougher trainers, and you'll see that this region is a lot different from the battle from the other regions you've been in," Juniper said to Ash who smiled at this and couldn't wait to see what's in store.
Ash and his friends leave for the next Town.
Ash's Journey has just begun with a new Pokemon and rival out of the way. What will up next for Ash and his friends? Ash, the Journey continues.

The first rewritten chapter is done. Yes, I've combined the first two chapters and reworded them. But that doesn't mean that things have changed outcome-wise. A new capture for Ash, chapter 3, will be now chapter 2 next time. See you all then
