Chapter 1: Death and Resurrection

"Remnant, a world of various races. Humans make up most of the population, but there are other races as well. The Faunus are a race of humans that have the features of animals, but they were seen as vermin by humans who hated them. Another race that lived in Remnant, were the Grimm. Monstrous creatures that sought the destruction of humanity, they thrive on death and hatred caused by humans.

It was believed that these creatures couldn't be killed, but it was soon discovered that dust, a mineral in Remnant, could be weaponized and used against these monsters. Thus, the Hunters and Huntresses were born. Making weapons that are capable of killing these monsters. But no matter how many of these creatures they killed, more continued to rise from places unknown. The Four Kingdoms, Vale, Vacuo, Atlas, and Mistral were founded to train new generations of Hunters and Huntresses.

My clan is one such group of hunters that was founded in Mistral, we are the Shirai Ryu. A group of ninja warriors that were the best Grimm Hunters in the world. Founded by my father, Takeda Hasashi. I am his son, heir to the Shirai Ryu. My clan knows me as Hanzo Hasashi, but others in the world know and fear me by another name. Scorpion."

(Shirai Ryu Village, Mistral)

In the forest outside the village, a 17 year old Hanzo Hasashi (MK1 Outfit but with a hood) was with his little brother Jubei. Training him to become a ninja for the next tournament where he will become a full fledged ninja. He avoided his sword strikes as he blocked his attacks with a wooden practice sword, Jubei went for a strike to his legs only to see Hanzo flip backwards as he landed on his feet and threw his practice rope spear at him and snared it around his ankle. This made Jubei gasp as Hanzo smirked and pulled the rope tightly. "COME HERE!" He yelled as he pulled hard on the rope and dragged Jubei towards him, he yelled from it but rolled back onto his feet and flipped towards him and landed a hard kick against his face.

He rolled over the ground from it and shook his head from the attack as he looked at his younger brother who grinned with confidence, making Hanzo smile as his brother charged in an attempt to strike him down. Hanzo deflected each of his attacks as he landed a few good hits across Jubei's shoulder and back. If he had a real sword, he would have cut him open and left severe gashes in Jubei's flesh. The younger brother groaned from the attacks as he held his shoulder while turning towards Hanzo. "That isn't fair! You're much faster than I am." He complained.

"It's what it takes to be a ninja, Jubei, You must rely on your agility to overpower your opponents. Most of your opponents will possess little armor, and attack with reckless abandonment. Strike them here." He hit him against his ribcage. "Here." He hit him on his neck. "And here." He landed the last hit against his head, knocking him down as Jubei fell down to the ground.

He groaned from it as he shook his head and looked towards his older brother. "A little much for me to try and keep up with, don't you think?" He asked him.

"Father asked me to train you, and so I am. I know it seems like I'm being hard on you, but that is how it was for me when I was your age." Hanzo explained as he earned his brother's expression went from depressed to surprised as he looked at him. "Life can be cruel, Jubei. It doesn't care where you are from. What god you pray to. It is, so you must face it head on." He explained as he turned towards a scorpion. "See that scorpion?" He asked as Jubei looked towards it, seeing it was being attacked by an ant colony. "No matter how many enemies, it continues on." He explained as he turned towards Jubei. "It is strong, yes. It is fast. But do you know why the scorpion is feared?" He asked him.

"No, I do not." Jubei replied as Hanzo smiled and looked towards the scorpion and told him.

"Its will." He said as the scorpion used its tail struck the ants and smacked them away as it crawled away. "Will power is what makes your destiny your own. Learn to become stronger. Here, and here." He pointed to his head and his heart as he placed his hand on his shoulder. "Promise me you will remember that." He pleaded as Jubei smiled and nodded his head.

"I will, brother." He told him as Hanzo smiled and put his practice sword away.

"Then we best end today's training and return home. Mother is making dinner, and she won't be happy if we're late." He told him, remembering the last time they were late. Their mother was scolding them and forced them to clean the house for 3 hours, when it should have been 3 weeks.

They prepared to head home for the day, but just as they were about to leave, a mysterious figure approached. One Hanzo recognized all too well. Adam Taurus, of the White Fang. He stood before the two ninjas as he had a smug grin on his face. "Hanzo Hasashi… it's been a while." He told him as Hanzo narrowed his eyes.

"Adam Taurus. To what do I owe the displeasure of this… unexpected visit…?" He asked him while keeping his brother behind him.

"Though I have a strong hatred towards humans. You, my friend, I've come to respect. Afterall, you were the first one to ever get the best of me." Adam reminded him of their previous fight.

"You didn't come here to take a trip down memory lane. What do you want?" Hanzo asked, demanding an answer from him as he gripped his true rope spear behind him.

Adam cleared his throat a bit as he adjusted his suit. "I'm here to offer you a proposition." He informed him while Hanzo raised his eyebrow but kept his guard up. "I want you to train the White Fang to become ninja warriors. Skilled enough that they can be merciless killers." He requested.

"You mistake me for a Lin Kuei." Hanzo replied while walking towards him and standing up to him. "I do not use my skills to kill the innocent like those dogs. And I will never help the White Fang with their affairs. My devotion is to the defense of Remnant, nothing else. I will die before dishonoring my family and clan." He declared.

But his determination merely made Adam chuckle as he backed away from the ninja. "You claim to defend Remnant, yet no one has seen your progress against the Grimm. You do not report your progress to the higher-ups. Instead, you hide out here in the woods. Like a coward." He declared, only to feel Hanzo's rope spear snare his neck, catching him off guard as he grunted and got pulled to the ground.

Hanzo dragged him across the ground and stomped on his head, pinning him down as Adam let out a painful grunt from it. "I'm not the coward here. You come to my home, asking me to train your followers. Yet you didn't consider the consequences of mocking my clan." He said while pulling the rope as it uncoiled from around Adam's neck and the spear scratched him across his face, making him wince in pain from it. "You forget who I am." He grabbed him by his collar and lifted him up. "I suggest you take whatever followers you have here, and get off my land." He suggested as he shoved him away.

Adam stumbled as he held his face from the cut left on it, groaning in pain as he glared at the ninja. "You'll change your mind, Hanzo. Be certain of that." He told him as he walked away.

But Hanzo wasn't intimidated by his bravado as he glared at the Faunus. "Don't count on it, Taurus." He replied as he turned towards Jubei. "I'm sorry you had to see that, little brother. But you have to be wary of people like him. He's the sole reason why humans hate Faunus to begin with." He informed him as he walked off with Jubei.

"But Hanzo, isn't he just fighting for Faunus independence?" He asked him.

"He would let you think that. But the truth is, he's fighting for his own personal agenda." He said to his little brother as he walked down the steps with him. "It's a deep hatred for humans that drives him. I may have earned his respect, but it is his actions towards humans that allowed me to turn him down. I will never aid him or any of his loyalists." He explained.

Jubei saw the intensity in his eyes and nodded his head in understanding. "I understand, brother." He replied.

A smile soon formed over Hanzo's face as he looked towards his little brother. "Hey… don't worry about what he said. I'm never going to help him and the White Fang. It would go against the code of the Shirai Ryu." He told him as he crouched down. "Come on, we might make it home faster if I carry you." He offered as Jubei smiled and hopped onto his back as Hanzo stood up. "Hold on!" He said as he ran off down the steps.

Jubei yelled as he held on while laughing. "Faster, Hanzo! Faster!" He called out as Hanzo ran as fast as he could, unaware that someone was watching them. Blake Belladonna of the White Fang stood on a branch and watched them, she smiled watching him as she saw just how happy they were. Why Adam would want to recruit him was beyond her. She let go of the branch and leapt out towards the forest to catch up to Adam and leave Hanzo and his family alone.

Later that night, Hanzo and Jubei returned to the village as Hanzo was panting a bit from the long run as he and Jubei chuckled together. "You're not as small as you used to be, little brother. I need a break." He told him.

"Come on, you've still got some stamina." He told him.

"I know, but I'd rather save that for the walk home, and-" Before he continued his sentence, he noticed something was off. He looked around the village noticing it was completely silent, so quiet one could hear a bird in the distance. He looked around as his senses were tensing up. He slowly walked into the village as he kept his eyes open, everywhere he looked, no one could be seen.

He made his way down the food market and looked around, seeing the food was still cooking or got burnt. He looked at the steam trays and noticed something. Some of the steam fried dumplings were stained with red spots. It wasn't some random color dye, it was blood. Hanzo's eyes widened as he felt someone was nearby, while Jubei looked at his brother feeling concerned. "Where is everyone, Hanzo?" He asked him.

Hanzo paused for a moment as he stared at the blood, knowing what must've happened as he glanced towards his brother. "Jubei, hide." He told him as his little brother's eyes widened, knowing he was serious as he hopped off of his brother's back and hid himself somewhere. Hanzo looked around the area as he sensed several unwelcome guests, a Lin Kuei Assassin came out of hiding and charged towards him. This caused Hanzo to narrow his eyes as he avoided his strikes, grabbing a steam lid as he blocked his dagger and forced it to fly into the air as he landed a few strikes against the Lin Kuei and kicked him away. He caught the dagger as the steam lid was still around it, he took the dagger and avoided the assassin's attacks as he blocked with his arm and kneed him against his stomach and slashed at his throat, causing his blood to spill as the assassin choked.

But Hanzo wasn't going to wait for him to die slowly, he took the dagger and stabbed him in his forehead and split his skull open. Another assassin came out of hiding as he went to wrap a chain around his neck, Hanzo quickly caught the chain before it could reach his neck. He struggled with the assassin as he tried to keep him from strangling him. Jubei ran out of hiding as he took a small knife and stabbed him in his arm, causing the assassin to cry out in pain as Hanzo grabbed him and threw him over and slammed him on the ground. He took the dagger and stabbed him in the chest and pierced his heart. Another assassin came out of hiding with a katana and went to cut him down. "Brother, look out!" Jubei called out as Hanzo narrowly dodged the katana and blocked his strikes with his dagger.

He struck at the assassin as he tried to defend himself from Hanzo's flurry of attacks, but the Shirai Ryu ninja knocked the assassin's blade away and stabbed him in the face as it caused his eyes to pop out. He took the opportunity to slash the Lin Kuei's head off cleanly like he was slicing through butter. He watched as his body fell to the ground as another assassin came out and went to attack him. Hanzo quickly avoided his attack as he tossed his dagger into the air, he landed a few attacks against the assassin to put him in a daze as the dagger came back down. Hanzo backed up as he kicked the dagger straight into the assassin's chest, kicking him away as his dead body crashed into a food stand. Hanzo looked back and saw more assassins approaching as he turned and grabbed Jubei. "Run!" He ordered as he ran off with him, Jubei ran beside him to keep up as he looked back seeing the assassins chasing after them.

He panicked as he ran beside his brother and looked at a stack of crates, he got an idea as he took a post from one of the stands as it collapsed while he ran along the wall and used the post to push the crates over. They fell over as Hanzo ran past them and fell on top of the assassins as they got crushed by the overbearing weight of them. Hanzo smirked as he took Jubei and got him onto his back and jumped from post to post across a canal as a few assassins continued the pursuit, while someone from above was watching them from a rooftop. Hanzo ran with his brother as fast as the assassins pursued them through the village, they threw shurikens at the two young ninja's but missed each throw. The two Shirai Ryu ninjas made their way to the rooftops and ran along them to escape the assassins, they ran after them to try and kill them. Unaware that they had hidden themselves below as they leapt over them to another building. The duo quietly moved down and snuck towards a house to hide themselves as the assassins searched for them. As they continued to search, Hanzo watched them through the door of the house they entered and closed it silently as he sighed. "Hanzo…" Jubei called to him as Hanzo looked at a horrendous site.

His eyes widened when he saw the dead of his fellow clansmen. Men, women, even children. The sight was horrible for them to see as Jubei's eyes were filled with tears, for he even found the remains of their parents among the dead. He was about to let out a cry, but Hanzo covered his mouth for he feared the worst. "Harumi…" He uttered till his ears caught the sound of approaching assassins and looked back, the assassins were approaching the house to find them inside. They kicked down the door to find them, but they were gone. One of the assassins looked through the house to find them, he noticed dust falling as he looked up seeing an opening in the ceiling.

Elsewhere, Hanzo was running for dear life to the Fire Gardens while Jubei held onto his back. "Brother, why are we heading to the Fire Gardens?" He asked him.

"It is the place where I told Harumi would be safe. I hope we're not too late." He prayed as he ran fast towards the Fire Gardens. He made it across the bridge and ran towards the house while setting down Jubei. He opened the door and searched around the room. "Harumi…?" He called out to her but didn't receive a response as he searched the rooms. "Harumi!" He called her again trying to find her, that was until.

"Hanzo…!" Jubei called out to him as Hanzo turned to where he was, he saw his younger brother standing in front of an open room. He walked over to the room and looked inside, his eyes widened in horror as he saw the dead body of his fiance. Harumi laid dead on the floor in a pool of her own blood as Jubei's eyes were filled with tears upon seeing his future sister dead.

But Hanzo…? Hanzo took it the hardest. He stood there, staring at her as his mind was trying to process it all. He approached Harumi and fell to his knees and gently lifted her up, staring at her beautiful face as his heart started to ache. Tears slowly began to well up in his eyes as he tried to fight them back, he closed his eyes feeling the tears roll down his face as he held Harumi close to him. Silently crying as he held her, while Jubei watched as he felt sorry for his brother. But he was completely unaware that a few Lin Kuei assassins snuck up from behind to kill them. But Hanzo was no fool, his eyes snapped open in rage as he set Harumi down and threw his spear at one of the assassins and pierced his chest.

"GET OVER HERE!" He yelled as he dragged the assassin over to him as he slammed his elbow against his face and punched him in the gut. He grabbed his head and kneed him in the face while taking one of his own katanas and slicing up the assassin into pieces. He blocked another assassin's strikes and sliced his arms clean off from their shoulders. He swung his next strike and cut open the assassin's skull, instantly killing him as he growled in pure anger. The Lin Kuei assassins watched but did not fear the ninja as they charged towards him, unaware that the only thing he now sought… was vengeance. "RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" He unleashed a powerful war cry as he proceeded to kill each and every Lin Kuei that attacked him. He slashed one in half up to his chest as he stabbed the next one in the chest holding him up.

He chopped off the assassin's limbs to keep him from attacking while chopping his head clean off and throwing away the body as more assassins came into the house. Jubei watched as his brother spilt the blood of his victims splash over his face, forcing him to close his eyes as he felt its warm embrace. He opened his eyes as he watched Hanzo continue to slaughter the Lin Kuei assassins, unaware that it was getting cold as his breath could be seen. Meanwhile Hanzo pushed the assassins out as he slammed them on the floor, slashing their heads off as he stabbed one in the chest. Twisting the blade as he looked towards three more assassins, who looked at him with fear in their eyes, he glared as they attempted to run away. But Hanzo wasn't going to let them escape as he chased after them, slicing through them one by one as he charged at the last one and stabbed through his head and pierced him into the ceiling.

He split the assassin's face open, feeling his blood spill onto him as an assassin charged at him from behind and stabbed him with a spear. He cried out in pain from it but took his katana and stabbed him in his chest, knocking him away as he pulled the spear through him, snapping it off of the staff as he pulled the rest out of his body and dropped it to the ground. He growled angrily as he saw more Lin Kuei assassins around him, his blood boiled as his will to fight on kept him going. He yelled as he charged at the assassins and cut them down, he threw his spear at one's head and pierced through his dense skull as he yanked on the rope and pulled the assassin's skull off while swinging his katana and chopping one into several little pieces.

He cut down each Lin Kuei assassin till they were nothing, he stabbed, chopped, and slashed through each and every one of them. He grabbed the last assassin as he stabbed him relentlessly with his katana, cutting him up and crushing bone as his eyes were closed. He did not relent as his mind was consumed by rage. He yelled as he struck one last time, panting heavily as his eyes opened to see the results of his carnage. He looked at the blood on his hands and looked towards the Fire Gardens, seeing all the bodies he left in his wake. "What… have I done…?" He asked himself as he lowered his head, unaware that someone was approaching from behind.

"ENOUGH!" Yelled a voice as Hanzo turned around to see a Lin Kuei assassin clad in blue. This was Bi Han, otherwise known as Sub-Zero (MK Legends Outfit). He stepped out of the shadows and showed that he had Jubei in his cold grasp.

Hanzo's eyes widened when he saw it, he stood up as he glared at him. "Let him go, Sub-Zero!" He demanded as he attempted to approach him.

"Come further, and he dies." He warned him as he spread ice around Jubei's neck, making him whimper in fear as Hanzo stopped in his tracks.

He couldn't let any harm come to his little brother as he looked towards the assassin. "What do you want?" He asked him.

The ice cold assassin narrowed his eyes as he kept his tight cold grip around Jubei's neck. "On your knees!" He ordered as Hanzo glared at him, he slowly kneeled down as he tried to find a way to save his brother.

But before he knew it, Sub-Zero blasted him and encased him in ice before he could even react. He was trapped up to his waist in a giant iceberg as he groaned from how cold it was, he struggled to break free as Sub-Zero tightened his grip. When suddenly. "You see Hanzo, this is where loyalty gets you." Said familiar voice as Hanzo looked to see Adam stepping forward, his eyes widened as Adam smirked at him. "No matter how hard you try to protect those you care about, they all end up dead in the end." He told him.

Hanzo stared at him but narrowed his eyes as he struggled. "Taurus… you… you led him here?!" He asked him, demanding an answer.

"Of course. Because unlike you, the Lin Kuei are more ambitious than your pathetic clan. You settle for defending Remnant, when you should be leading it. You could've had everything in the world." Adam explained.

"I WANTED NOTHING!" Hanzo yelled.

"Precisely Hanzo, which is why you lack vision!" Adam argued as he pointed towards Sub-Zero. "Which is why Bi Han didn't hesitate to accept what I had to offer him and his clan!" He declared but took the opportunity to calm down as he exhaled. "But… I am going to give you the offer once again. Join us, and we will rebuild your clan." He offered as he smirked. "And your brother will remain unharmed." He declared.

Knowing that Adam is lying, there is no guarantee that he will be true to his word. Hanzo narrowed his eyes at Sub-Zero who glared at him in return. "You murdered my parents… my clan… and you murdered the woman I loved. If you touch a hair on my brother's head, there will be hell to pay. I promise you that." He swore as Sub-Zero smirked behind his mask.

Jubei feared the worst as he looked at his brother while feeling the cold chill around his neck as Sub-Zero held him out. "Then tell him this… tell him, it will be alright." He ordered the Shirai Ryu ninja as his grip tightened around Jubei's neck. "Tell him." He ordered.

He stared at Jubei who looked at him with tears in his eyes, Hanzo hesitated as he feared what would happen if he told him. He prepared to speak, but Jubei shook his head telling him not to as he worked up the chance to scream. "BROTHER-" He cried out only to feel an icicle pierce through his throat, shocking Hanzo as he watched his little brother get ruthlessly murdered by the assassin. "Brother…" He called weakly.

"Jubei… JUBEI!" Hanzo cried out to him as he struggled to break free.

His little brother coughed up blooded as the icicle slowly pulled out of his throat. "Bro… ther…" He felt his life fade as his body was dropped to the ground by Sub-Zero who's hand was still stained in Jubei's blood.

While Hanzo stared at his dead body in shock by what he witnessed. "Jubei…" He tried to call to him as tears filled his eyes. "Jubei… Jubei!" He called out to him, but no response came to him as Hanzo looked up to Sub-Zero, who was cleaning off his hand of the blood.

Adam smirked at seeing it as he looked at Hanzo. "You had your chance to save your brother, and now look at him. Drowning in a pool of his own blood, because you couldn't save him. It's almost poetry." He commented as he smirked.

Hanzo stared at Sub-Zero while Adam chuckled, but he ignored him as he glared at Sub-Zero like a mad dog. "I'll kill you… I'LL KILL YOU!" He yelled as he started breaking free of the ice, earning a surprised look from both Sub-Zero and Adam as Hanzo managed to get his left arm freed. He then proceeded to free his right arm as the ice began to crack, Sub-Zero watched as he freed his arm and began to approach him as he formed a sharp icicle in front of him. But Hanzo glared at him as he did not fear what came next. "You'll… die for this!" He warned him.

"You first." The assassin replied as he shot the icicle straight into the ninja's mouth as it pierced his head into the giant ice formation. Hanzo's blood spilled all over the ice formation as his life slipped away.

Seeing that he was gone, Adam let out a sigh as he adjusted his mask. "So much for his honor." He commented as he looked towards Sub-Zero. "With him out of the way, the Lin Kuei will now be recognized as the greatest clan to ever exist." He told him.

"Your mission here is complete. Return to Vale." Sub-Zero ordered as he walked away, leaving the grizzly scene as Adam smirked and followed after him, leaving Hanzo's lifeless body where it lay. While his blood slowly melted the ice around him, almost like fire was covering his whole body.

(Wu Shi Academy, Vale)

A couple months had passed since the destruction of the Shirai Ryu village. Within the compound of the Wu Shi Academy, two young warriors were preparing for their sparring practice. They were Liu Kang and Kung Lao, brothers in faith as they were trained by the same master, Bo' Rai Cho. Kung Lao (MK 1 Design) was 17 years old and doing his exercises and stretches while Liu Kang (MK Legends Design) was 19 years old and meditating with his back turned towards his brother. But he could sense Kung Lao preparing himself for combat as he opened his eyes, glancing back towards him as he got onto his feet and stood up to face him.

Both kombatants approached one another as Kung Lao took on his fighting stance, while Liu Kang did the same as he stood a few meters away from him. Kung Lao formed a smug grin as he kicked at his head, causing him to lean back to avoid it as the Shaolin warrior went to kick at Liu Kang's legs. But he retaliated by kicking against his leg to push him back as he went to punch him, Kung Lao blocked it with his arm as he swung his other arm at him while Liu Kang redirected his attack along with a second strike from Kung Lao as he went to elbow him. His brother blocked it as he pushed Liu Kang back to get his bearings.

He stood in his fighting stance as he exhaled, smirking as his self-confidence was showing. Liu Kang smirked as he lowered his defenses and approached him. Kung Lao waited for him to make the first move, which he did by smacking his arm down as he went to punch him. Kung Lao anticipated this as he caught his arm and threw a few punches as Liu Kang deflected them and blocked a kick from his brother. Kung Lao went to hit him in the face as Liu Kang caught his arm and pushed it back, forcing Kung Lao to shove him away as he went to kick him. Liu Kang raised his leg to avoid getting kicked as Kung Lao threw a high kick at him, which Liu Kang managed to avoid as he went to punch him. His brother deflected his attacks as Kung Lao threw a knee at him which Liu Kang blocked while his brother thrusts another kick, forcing him to block it as he backed away feeling the force of his attack.

Kung Lao stood up as he stroked the razor brim of his hat and stood in his fighting stance to continue the fight, while Liu Kang shook his arm a bit to shake off the pain he was feeling. He moved as his feet were tapping across the ground in rhythm as he approached Kung Lao, waiting to see which of them would attack first. Kung Lao sent a flurry of punches at Liu Kang as he evaded his attacks and blocked a kick from him, landing a punch against his face as he forced Kung Lao to back up.

This infuriated him as he went to strike him again while Liu Kang was avoiding his punches, he landed a punch against his stomach and once again to his face to disorient him. He hit him in the face again to get Kung Lao to back up as he stumbled a bit and looked at his fellow monk. He reached for his razor brimmed hat and slashed at him with it, Liu Kang dodged the first slash as he saw Kung Lao about to strike again, causing him to block it and knock it out of his hand as he landed a flying kick against his torso. He knocked Kung Lao to the ground as he slid across it and groaned from the attack.

Liu Kang smiled as he stood up straight and approached him. "Do you see now why we still train?" He asked him while his brother rubbed his chest from the attack.

"That was a lucky strike." Kung Lao replied as he looked up to his brother. "Let's go again. I will show you." He told him as he was about to get up.

"No, Kung Lao." Liu Kang replied as Kung Lao looked at him surprised. "The training you require is mental. Not physical." He told him as he offered him a hand.

Kung Lao looked at him and sighed as he looked away for a moment. "What do you mean, Liu Kang?" He asked as he looked back at him and took his hand, standing up with his brother's help as he continued his explanation.

"You cannot surpass your limitations. Until you acknowledge them." He told him as Kung Lao sighed when he heard it, while a figure floated down to them.

"Wise words, Liu Kang." Said the figure as the Shaolin Monks turned and saw that it was Raiden: God of Thunder and Protector of Vale (MK 11 Story Outfit).

The two monks were surprised to see him as they bowed to him respectfully. "Lord Raiden! We were not expecting you so soon. If you were someone else, we would have attacked you without thinking." Liu Kang explained.

"And you and Kung Lao would have done well, Liu Kang. Just as Bo' Rai Cho had taught you both. And I hope it is enough." The thunder god told them as he used lightning to light a set of candles to illuminate the area.

"Enough?" Kung Lao asked but quickly realized what he meant. "Then it is time." He suggested.

"Yes. Your entry forms to Beacon Academy have been accepted. Ozpin has been looking forward to meeting the both of you, and it is there that you will continue your training." Raiden explained as he held his hands behind his back. "Now, the others will be gathering. We best hurry if we are to get you both to the Welcoming Ceremony at Beacon." He told them as he walked away.

But that managed to confuse the two Shaolin Monks as they looked at each other and looked towards the thunder god. "Lord Raiden, what others?" Liu Kang asked him.

(Cage Mansion, Vacuo)

Miles away in Vacuo, at Cage Mansion on a beach. It was an every normal day for the number one superstar in Vacuo. Or so one would think. "No, no, listen! We can make this work, I promise. What do I have to do, huh?" Asked the one and only Johnny Cage, a 17 year old actor with a head full of rocks, but a heart of… somewhat gold.

"Johnny, you're not the martial arts megastar you once were honey. You're lucky that Steven owed you a favor. As for what you can do? How about cleaning up this hell-hole you call a home? How about doing something besides crying about your career?" His soon to be Ex-Girlfriend, Cristine, asked him as she took his shirt and threw it at him. "You only care about yourself!" She exclaimed.

"Oh come on, babe." Johnny (MK 1 Design) pulled off his shirt and walked towards her. "The money, the parts, they're coming. Steven's film is just the beginning. Which is why I need to project it. Because if I don't… then Johnny Cage is done." He told her.

But that punched the final nail in his own personal coffin as Cris turned towards him with a stern glare. "I didn't agree to marry Johnny Cage! I agreed to marry John Carlton. And I would give anything to have him back, so do me a favor. Call me when you grow up!" She yelled as she stormed off and slammed the door.

Seeing it happen, Johnny was profoundly dumbfounded as he sighed. "Fuck… oh well, I can still call her then. That's a W." He commented as he walked towards his couch as there were dozens of eviction notices that were surrounding his living room along with a ton of pizza boxes. He sat down on his couch as he drank his red wine and gurgled it as he looked at his own movie posters. He even saw a picture of his literal fighting match where he was victorious. He soon heard his scroll ringing and attempted to look for it, he searched everywhere as he knocked over a wine bottle as he lifted up a pizza box and felt the vibration inside it. He opened it and pulled his scroll out answering it. "Hey! You're in the cage with Johnny!" He said.

"Johnny! Steven here." He replied

"Oh, Steven. My long-lost agent. It's about time you called, I think I just got the breakup of a lifetime." Johnny told him as he walked out to the terrace.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Johnny. I really am. But I have something different that you might be interested in. Are you interested in hearing it?" Steven asked.

"Of course I'm interested in something different. What have I been telling you?" He asked as he leaned against the terrace.

"Well I got a gig for you in Vale, Beacon Academy is literally the biggest training ground for the best fighters. And the headmaster there will be hosting a tournament there." Steve informed him.

"Yeah. Vale. Uh-huh. All right, well, what about an advance? Uh, things have gotten a little… Little tight around here." Johnny informed him.

"Just get your ass to Vale, and it will definitely be worth your while. I already put in the application forms, so you have nothing to worry about. Okay? Okay, goodbye." Steve hung up on him as Johnny was surprised by it.

"Hello? Hello…?" He looked at his scroll seeing he hung up and sighed as he put it away. "Great, just my luck. Well, I'm off to Vale!" He yelled out raising his arms. "I am so not looking forward to this." He admitted, knowing this will be like going back to middle school.

(Fight Club, Atlas)

At a hidden fight club within Atlas, a group of people had gathered as one had just arrived to hand in his money to place a bet. He tried to push past one guy who glared at him for getting into his personal space as the spectator chuckled nervously while putting in his money to the bets. The man counted how many bills he had while the spectators cheered as there was a fight in progress. "Kick him in the face!" Yelled one of the spectators as a young woman, Sonya Blade (MK Onslaught Design), was a 16 year old teen and was fighting a thug in the middle of the crowd.

She kneed him, then punched him in the face as she kicked him hard in the stomach, knocking him down. The thug almost looked passed out, but he raised his head as he growled at the blonde who stood over him while the people cheered. "You gonna keep crying like a bitchor fight like a man?" She asked him as the spectators oohed when they heard it. The thug was enraged at what she said as he began running towards her and attempted to attack her. She evades his punch and punches him in the chin, dodging his next punch and hits his stomach as she attempts to kick him.

He caught her leg and threw her away only to grab her by her dog tags around her neck as he pulled her back and headbutts her as she fell to the ground from how painful it was. An old man had a disappointed look on his face as he handed over his money to one of the spectators who gladly took it, while the thug took in the cheers. "Yeah, yeah. That's right!" He turned his attention towards Sonya who laid on the ground. "You should have ran while you could. This is no place for a little girl." He told him as those words echoed in her mind as she remembered how her drill sergeant, Jackson Briggs aka Jax, said the same words when she was still a cadet.

An entire squad of cadets were lined up as Jax walked in front of them. "This is no place for little girls." He declared as Sonya smirked when he said it, which he immediately noticed as he got in her face. "Do you think this is funny?!" He asked her.

"Sir, no sir. I merely look forward to proving you wrong in the future! Sir!" She replied.

But Jax was far from intimidated by her cocky attitude. "Well congratulations, cadet. You just became my new pet project." He informed her as Sonya showed no signs of being intimidated by him, he pulled away as he crossed his arms. "You think you're pretty special, don't you, princess?" He asked her.

Much to her annoyance when she received that nickname. "Sir! My name is Sonya Blade! And I'm going to be the best soldier you ever met! Sir!" She declared as Jax lowered his arms.

"We'll see about that." He replied as he walked away.

As the days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Sonya worked hard to earn Jax's approval as she hit every target dead center, ran as far as she could, and took down any cadet who thought they could take a hit. Boy were they wrong as Sonya easily knocked them out, one by one.

The next day, Jax had called Sonya in for a quick briefing in regards to her training. She walked in as she closed the door behind her. "You wanted to see me, sir?" She asked him as she approached him.

"Yes I did. You've certainly proved me wrong when it came to your skill. But you're going to need more than that. Because humans and Faunus won't be the only things we will be fighting out there, but Grimm as well. I've arranged to have you transferred to Beacon Academy." He informed her.

Much to her dismay as she took this chance to protest. "But sir, I have no intention of becoming a huntress. I'm a soldier!" She exclaimed.

"And a damn good one. But you need skills to handle both humans, faunus, and Grimm. Not to mention, you need to make some friends. Once you have graduated from Beacon, I'll be putting together a task force. High-level spec ops stuff. And I'll have a place reserved for you if, and when you graduate." He told her as he stretched out his hand. "What do you say?" He asked her, she looked at his hand as she was reluctant. But if she wanted to be part of Atlas's army, she had to improve upon herself. She took his hand and shook it, knowing that her place would be reserved for her.

(Present Day)

Sonya stirred out of her daze as she saw the thug was about to stomp on her face till she flipped up and kicked him in the face while spinning back to her position. The thug groaned as his nose was bleeding and he shot a glare at her for it. "I'm gonna kill you!" He yelled.

But Sonya was not intimidated by his threat as she stood in her fighting stance. "You're gonna try." She told him as the thug yelled and went to punch her, she dodged and counterattacked him with her elbow. The thug went to punch her again but missed twice as she avoided them, he went to kick her but she blocked it and jumped up punching him in the face as the crowd cheered.

The thug punches at her as she parries his attacks and punches him, then kicks him in the stomach and grabs his neck with her legs as she throws him hard towards a red car. He crashed against the frontal window, causing it to shatter as the owner clutched his head when he saw it. "That's my car!" He complained as the rest of the crowd cheered for Sonya who prepared to leave.

But the thug was not done with her as he ripped a metal pipe from the wall and charged at her. "Not yet, whore. We're not done!" He yelled as he swung the pipe at her, she evaded the metal pipe and elbows him in the face while taking the pipe from him as she hits him with it against his stomach. Likely going to leave massive bruises as she rendered him weak as she jumped and struck the pipe against his jaw, knocking some of his teeth as the thug had a few broken teeth and blood in his mouth. He freaked out when he lost them as blood dripped from his nostrils. "My teeth! My teeth!" He exclaimed till he looked up seeing Sonya standing over him.

She smirked at him as she literally intimidated him with her presence. "Honestly, it's an improvement." She told him as she raised her leg up.

The thug's eyes widened knowing what was coming. "Oh, shit!" He panicked as Sonya brought down her leg and stomp kicked him in the face, knocking him out as she slammed him against the ground as the crowd cheered for her. Meanwhile the old man smirked as he snatched the money from his competitor.

Sonya pulled her foot off of the thugs face seeing he was completely broken as she smirked and walked towards the guy running the fight club to get her winnings. He paid up as she grabbed her bag and walked out of the fight club, she looked at her watch and saw that her flight to Vale would be leaving in half an hour. She walked towards her motorcycle and got on it as she put on her helmet, and started the motor as she revved the engine. That was till the owner of the red car showed up to mug her. "Hold it you! You need to pay for my windshield!" He exclaimed.

She smirked under her helmet and glanced back at him. "Sorry pal, but I have a flight to catch." She told him as she turned the throttle and caused the wheel to spin over a puddle as it shot water at him as he shielded himself from it and she rode off to get away. She smirked, feeling satisfied as she made her way to the airport to get herself to Vale.

(Shao Kahn's Colosseum, Outworld)

Within the Colosseum in Outworld, the Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn (MK Onslaught Design), was watching his two daughters preparing for their training. While Shang Tsung (MK 11 Old Man Design), was speaking to the emperor on a matter of great importance. Kitana (MK 1 Design), was stretching to prepare herself as she pulled out her steel fans, opening one while keeping one closed as she stood in her fighting stance. While Mileena (MK 1 Design), twirled her sais as she grinned behind her mask.

Kitana of course was not Shao Kahn's legitimate daughter, she was in fact the daughter of the Edenian King, Jerrod (MK 1 Before he became Ermac). While Mileena was a mere clone of her, orchestrated by Shao Kahn so Shang Tsung could make a double in Kitana's likeness. But with a minor enhancement, Tarkatan blood. Whenever she goes wild, her Tarkatan features show on her face. Razor sharp fangs and claws that would tear any man to shreds if they look at her wrong.

The Tarkatans are an experiment of human and grimm, the most fearsome of their race was Baraka (MK 11 Design). A noble and ferocious leader who only respects the best fighters who are able to best him in combat. Not that anyone ever has. The eyes and ears of Shao Kahn's realm was Reptile (MK 1 Design where he can switch between man and beast), he has been Shao Kahn's best spy, gathering information on all their enemies' plans. Another was a female Edenian clad in yellow, named Tanya (MK X Design). She is considered most dangerous, but Mileena glanced towards her as she smirked and winked at her. Much to her delight as she looked away, moving her hair a bit while Reptile rolled his eyes seeing it.

Among them was Jade (MK11 Design All Green), Kitana's loyal bodyguard. She is loyal to Kitana more than she is to Mileena, given her blood. Standing beside her was a Vampire Bat Faunus named Nitara (MK 1 Deadly Alliance Design), she watched as the sisters were preparing for combat while their greatest warrior, Goro, the Prince of the Shokan who is a dragon faunus (MK Legends Design). He does not have pure dragon features, but he has the blood that makes him and any other four armed Shokan unique in terms of faunus, including Sheeva and Kintaro (MK 11 Sheeva and MK Legends Kintaro). With them is General Reiko (MK 1 Design), a ruthless soldier loyal to Shao Kahn. But secretly has his own agenda, no matter how loyal he is to the emperor.

Seeing the sisters were ready, Shao Kahn held his hand up to the sorcerer as he looked to the twins. "FIGHT!" He called out as Mileena yelled as she charged at Kitana, striking at her with her sai's as Kitana evaded her attacks and Mileena flipped towards her attempting to kick her. Kitana quickly backed away from her attack as she kicked her in her stomach and went for another kick.

Mileena deflected her kick and ducked from a roundhouse kick as she swung both her sai's at her which Kitana blocked while her twin went to stab her, she caught her sai with one of her fans as she knocked the sai out of her hand and into the air as she went to strike her with her other one. But the hybrid blocked it as she pulled the same maneuver on her by knocking her steel fan into the air as the two took the chance to catch opposite weapons and stand in their fighting stances.

They charged towards each other as Mileena slashed at her legs while Kitana deflected the attack and blocked her from stabbing her. She used the sai she took and snared her wrist as she twisted her around and went to attack her, but Mileena quickly kneed the sai out of her hand as she went to strike her with the steel fan she took. Kitana quickly evaded it as she snared the fan and threw Mileena over and kicked her as the Outworlders cheered on who would be the best warrior to best the other. Meanwhile Shao Kahn looked towards Shang Tsung as he sat on his throne. "What exactly are you proposing, sorcerer?" He asked him.

"What I am proposing, Emperor, is that we send one of your daughters to Remnant. With the Vytal Tournament drawing near, it would be wise to see the future generation of warriors they are making before we take the initiative to invade." Shang Tsung explained while Kitana and Mileena continued to fight each other in the background.

"A strategy like that will easily be discovered by the thunder god." Shao Kahn pointed out.

"Not unless we give him good reason that we only wish to participate in the tournament." Shang Tsung said to him while Mileena evaded Kitana's attack and blocked a kick from her as she threw her over and she rolled across the sand covered arena.

She groaned from it as she looked towards Mileena who was chuckling. "Come sister, you're not finished yet, are you?" She asked her as she was toying with her mind, much to Kitana's anger as she narrowed her eyes and flipped back up and kicked her hard in the face, as she formed a tornado below her and knocked her into the air as she leapt at her. She struck her a few times and knocked her down to the ground as the Outworld Warriors cheered for her.

Meanwhile, Shao Kahn turned towards Shang Tsung while the fight continued. "And what will happen when he discovers our plot?" He asked him while Mileena blocked the next few strikes from Kitana as she redirected her next attack and struck her side, making Kitana cry out feeling it as she folded her fan and slashed at Mileena and struck her face as Mileena spun away.

She held her face as she hissed from how painful it was, she pulled her hand away seeing her blood as she glared at Kitana for it as she snarled viciously and charged at her. "Why do you think I will be going as our realms emissary? After all, you need someone in Earthrealm who is cunning, crafty, while one of the princesses learns about the warriors by attending Beacon Academy. Not to mention, we need to learn more about the Grimm that infest that realm." Shang Tsung mentioned.

"Hmm… I suppose so. But which of my daughters do we send?" Shao Kahn asked as he looked at them, seeing them fight with such tenacity. Kitana avoided Mileena's attacks as she landed a kick against her and used her fans to propel herself up as she kicked her three times and slammed one last kick against her chest, knocking her down to the ground she rolled across it.

Magic flowing around her body as she rolled at Kitana like a wheel of death, causing her to leap up as she flipped backwards and throw her fans at the ground as Mileena slammed against them as she screamed falling over while Kitana summoned her fans back to her and she came down kicking her across the head and knocked her down to the ground. Tanya gasped when she saw it and rushed over to Mileena and kneeled to her while the sorcerer turned towards the emperor with a smug grin. "I believe we have our answer, my lord." He told him while Tanya helped Mileena sit up.

"Are you alright, princess?" She asked her as the half Tarkatas groaned in pain.

"I'll be fine, Tanya." She replied as she looked towards Kitana seeing her approach. "Come to gloat, sister?" She asked her.

"No. Rather to advise you. You shouldn't rely on your savagery as a tool, but more on your skills." She advised her as she began to walk away.

But this earned a chuckle from Mileena as she got up with Tanya's help. "You think you're special, because our father sees you as a protege." She declared while taking off her mask, showing a normal face. But her eyes changed color as her mouth started to shift. "While I am forced to wear this veil to hide this side of me, because people say that this is who I am!" She yelled as her fangs showed.

Kitana merely looked at her, seeing her Tarkatan features disappear as Mileena calmed down with the help of Tanya being by her side. "If I had Tarkatan blood, I would feel the same way as you. To feel different from those around me. But at least you have someone to keep you calm." She told her as Mileena looked away from her sister.

It was then that Shao Kahn stood from his throne and walked down a couple steps. "Kitana, Mileena, step forward." He ordered them as the two princesses turned to him and began to approach. They walked up and bowed to him, awaiting his orders. "You both have fought well. But I have something important to tell you both." He informed them.

"What is it, father?" Kitana asked him.

"Shang Tsung within a few hours will be returning to Remnant. With the Vytal Tournament in Vale coming, I will be sending one of you with him. To represent Outworld, and to learn about the warriors that reside in Beacon Academy." He informed them.

Mileena grinned as she looked up to her father. "I would be honored to go, father." She told him.

"I'm afraid you will not be going, Mileena." The Emperor informed her, much to her dismay as she looked at him shocked. "Your actions during the fight showed that you are not yet ready to travel to Remnant." He explained as he turned towards Kitana. "Instead, I will be sending Kitana." She declared.

Much to Kitana's surprise as she lowered her head, while Mileena tried to contain her anger. But that did not stop her Tarkatan side from rising as she narrowed her eyes. "Why does she get to go, while I remain behind?!" She asked him.

"Mileena, calm yourself." The emperor ordered her.

"You can't treat me like this, I'm not some child! I should go to Remnant! Not her!" She declared.

"MILEENA!" Shao Kahn yelled while slamming his warhammer to the ground, making her stumble as her face returned to normal and she kneeled in fear. "Kitana can blend in with their world, where you can barely contain yourself. Which is why we cannot neglect your training in controlling it." He told her as he turned to Shang Tsung. "Don't you agree?" He asked him.

"Yes, and I will return to continue her training once I get the princess enrolled into Beacon." He informed him as he turned towards Kitana. "I even took the liberty of speaking to Professor Ozpin, the Academy's headmaster. Wise in his years, knowledgeable beyond measure. One could say he's living history." He commented.

"So it would seem. When do we leave?" Kitana asked him.

"We leave for Vale now." He declared as he used his sorcery to open a portal. "It will be quite the experience for you, Princess." He assured her as Kitana rolled her eyes and proceeded into the portal as he followed after her.

Once the portal had closed, Mileena turned towards Shao Kahn to express her grievance. "Father, why do you always favor her and not me? My sister may not possess the same Tarkatan blood as I, but if you at least gave me a chance to prove myself, I could have succeeded where she would have failed." He told him.

"Why do you think I sent her to Remnant?" He asked her as she looked at him confused. "You see Mileena, Kitana does not possess the same ferocity and urge to kill like you do. She doesn't have the stomach to take another life. But you…?" He approached as he touched her chin. "You have what it takes to do what is necessary, to show no mercy towards your enemies." He told her.

Her eyes widened when she heard it as she looked at him. "So, you mean to say that you sent her to Remnant, knowing that she could be killed there?" She asked him.

"Remnant is a world we are unfamiliar with, its lands, its kingdoms, its creatures. If she fails to learn about its warriors, then she will die in that realm. That is why I chose you to stay, for you will be the true heir to my throne." He told her as he touched her shoulder. "Do you doubt my choice?" He asked her.

Mileena took a moment to process all she had learned, but she shook her head and looked at him. "No father. I don't." She answered as she walked away, leaving him as Tanya walked beside her.

A chuckle came from Reiko as he watched them go. "That was satisfying." He commented, only to get shoved by Jade.

"Show some respect, General. Kitana works harder than Mileena, while she is either fooling around with Tanya, or mauling someone's face off. Her next victim could be you when the time comes." She warned him as she stormed off.

Much to Reiko's anger as he sneered. "If that time ever comes, she'll find herself with a spear down her throat." He declared as he walked off with the other warriors of Outworld.

(Netherrealm)

Within the bowels of Netherrealm, Hanzo was reborn in the accursed realm as a tortured soul. But he had just woken up as he gasped seeing the memories of his past. Remembering what happened as he looked around, seeing where he was. "Jubei… Harumi…" He tried calling out to them, but no response as demons came out of hiding. "What is this, where am I?!" He asked as he noticed his limbs had small scythes piercing through them, suspending him over the fires below him. He tried to pull, but all that did was cut through his limbs as he screamed from it.

He panted heavily from the pain, that was when he heard a dark chuckle as he looked towards the source. Seeing a massive demon torturer step out from behind a large spike formation. "Don't start without me." He said as he looked at Hanzo. "Ahh. Fresh meat." He said while licking one of his torturing blades and walked towards him.

Hanzo watched him approach while he was panting and bleeding from his limbs. "What in the hell?" He asked.

"Close. Netherrealm." The Demon Torturer corrected him as Hanzo tried to struggle and get free, but the demon approached holding a blade to him. "It's no use. You are a prisoner here." He informed him.

"For how long?" Hanzo asked him only to see the demon chuckle.

"Forever." He declared as he gestures out. "Listen." He told him as Hanzo looked out, hearing the screams of victims who were condemned to the Netherrealm. "Do you hear it? The symphony of pain. Your voice will soon join the others, rising up to please the great Shinnok." He told him while inspecting his blades as Hanzo looked at him.

"Shinnok?" He asked him.

"The Master of Netherrealm." He gestures out for him to look. "There." He points to a place where there were three rock formations floating in the air. "The only place of reprieve in this realm." He explained as Hanzo looked at it, believing that is where he will get his answers. "Look on it and weep." The demon torturer told him as he took his blade and cut his own hand, causing lava to drip out of it as Hanzo saw it surprised. "Sharp enough." The torturer said as he chuckled and walked towards Hanzo, who struggled and pulled his arm and opened up his wound.

"Shit! You have to let me go… I still have unfinished business in the living world!" He begged the torturer, but his pleas were only met with a chuckle from the demon.

"There is no returning back to the living world. Once a soul is condemned to the Netherrealm, it is here to stay." He told him as Hanzo glared and struggled, only to feel the torturer's blade touch him. "Calm yourself. Save your energy for what is about to come." He advised him as he ran the blade along his torso, he grinned as he punctured the blade through his abdomen.

Hanzo cried out from it as the blade was pulled out of him and he shot a glare at him. "You fucking piece of shit!" He yelled as the demon laughed at his words.

"Now you see? You feel pain, though you can no longer perish. We can do this for all eternity." He told him as he grabbed the chains and lowered him down to the fires, Hanzo panicked when he saw it as he closed his eyes. The second the flames touched his skin and his body was dipped in the lava, the demon expected screams coming from him. But to his surprise, there were no screams. Just silence. Not a single sound came from Hanzo as he just sat there in the lava, not feeling the intense heat as the demon torturer stared in shock. "How is this possible?!" He asked shocked as he pulled him up. "How are you not feeling pain from the fires?!" He demanded an answer.

But Hanzo spat blood at his face, much to the demon's anger as Hanzo glared at him. "You'll get nothing from me." He told him as the demon smacked him over the face.

"I'll make you scream, one way or another. I have all the time in Netherrealm to find what makes you tick." He told him as he soon saw Hanzo muttering, earning the torturer's attention. "Huh? What is it you say?" He asked as he leaned in to listen to him. "Is that a prayer?" He asked as he chuckled. "No. No god can help you here." He told him smugly.

But Hanzo snapped his eyes open, glaring at him. "I need no god." He said as he bit down on his ear and tore it off, making the torturer scream as he backed away and held where his ear used to be.

Hanzo took the ear and spat it towards his chains, causing the metal to heat up as he pulled on the chain and snapped it at the weak link. He took the chain and struck the chain that held his other arm, he dropped to the ground as he exhaled feeling relieved as he pulled out the scythes in his limbs. While the torturer turned towards him with a furious look on his face. "I will take pleasure in ripping your flesh from your bones!" He yelled as he charged at him with his blade.

Hanzo looked towards the assortment of weapons and saw him getting closer as he avoided his weapon and dashed towards his knee, he punched his knee causing it to shatter as the torturer screamed in pain from it while Hanzo ran for one of the blades as he grabbed one and ran towards the demon. He yelled as he went to crush Hanzo under his blade, but the fallen ninja avoided it as he leapt and kneed the torturer in the face and yelled as he brought his sword down. He sliced the torturer down the middle as it reached down to only his belt, Hanzo let go of the blade as his former torturer collapsed to the ground.

He approached the dead demon's body and tore off pieces of loincloth and covered himself as he took a few pieces to wrap around where he had the scythes piercing through him. "Human. You have made a big mistake." Called one of the demons as he put on a mask and looked towards them, seeing there were many of them around him as he took one of the chained scythes. "There are thousands of us and only one of you." He told him.

That was till Hanzo wrapped the chained scythe around his neck, he pulled tightly as he sliced the demon's head clean off from its shoulders. The head rolled across the ground as the body collapsed as Hanzo looked towards the other demons. "Minus one." He said as the demons snarled at him angrily, preparing to charge at him.

"Hold!" Called out a voice as the demons halted in their steps and turned to see Quan Chi (MK 1 Design), the Sorcerer of Netherrealm. He approached as Hanzo looked towards him, seeing his malefic grin and knew that this man was trouble. "Quite the display." He complimented his skill.

"Shinnok I take it?" He asked the sorcerer.

"No. Shinnok is indisposed." Quan Chi informed him.

"Then go fetch him for me." Hanzo demanded.

"If only I could." The Sorcerer replied as he approached. "I am Quan Chi, in charge of this realm until the masters return. And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" He asked him.

"Hanzo Hasashi." He introduced himself.

"Your reputation precedes you, Hanzo Hasashi. Welcome to Netherrealm." Quan Chi welcomed him as he started circling him. "Though, I'm not entirely sure how you are able to resist pain from the fires. But someone of your caliber wouldn't feel them unless you desire something. What is it you want, Hanzo?" He asked him

"To return to Remnant, to seek my revenge." He answered.

"Remnant?" Quan Chi asked as he chuckled darkly. "I'm afraid you can't return home. The second you died, your soul had been claimed by Netherrealm. So it is here where you will stay." The sorcerer informed him, only to get tackled by Hanzo as he got pinned down.

"You will do as I say, or I will flay you alive!" Hanzo threatened him as the demons attempted to save their master.

But the sorcerer held up a hand to stop them as he smirked at Hanzo. "Do you really think I'm defenseless, dog? In my realm, no less." He asked as he flicked him away with just a finger, causing Hanzo to grunt from it and crash against the ground. "You may be a vengeful spirit, but even they have their limits." He told him as he used his sorcery to lift him up and twist his bones in different painful places, making Hanzo scream in agony.

He groaned but struggled as he tried to ignore the pain, much to Quan Chi's intrigue as he set Hanzo down. "You don't know me. The true pain that I've been through." He told him.

"No. But I can tell that revenge is not what you really want, is it?" He asked him as he walked towards a wine bottle and took it as he filled his glass. "I can give you what you want, but for a price." He told him as he took the chalice and sipped from it.

Hanzo was panting a bit as he looked towards him, feeling his limbs go back into their original places. "Why would I work for you?" He asked him.

"Because, they will be in Vale." Quan Chi revealed an image of Sub-Zero and Adam Taurus as they were currently on a mission to rob a train. "They are in transit to Beacon Academy, take either one of them out, and I will give you your assignment once you have finished your own task. Do we have a deal?" He asked him as he stretched his hand out.

Knowing that there will be strings attached, what choice did Hanzo have? He closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them as he looked at Quan Chi. "It doesn't matter, as long as Sub-Zero dies." He told him as he reached and took Quan Chi's hand, the fires around his hand began to engulf Hanzo's body as it formed a new uniform around him. As the new suit formed around him, it formed a new mask as his eyes snapped open pale white, showing that Scorpion has been reborn (MK 11 O.G. Ninja Skin).

(Vale, Train Robbery)

After the drones had been subdued by Adam, Blake, and Sub-Zero proceed through the train car to retrieve their objective. Sub-Zero took out his scroll and contacted Sektor (MK 9 Human Cameo). "Sektor, report." He ordered.

"It is done, the remaining drones from Atlas have been dismantled." Sektor reported.

"Make sure you and Cyrax keep them that way. We can't have Atlas catching on to our activities." Sub-Zero told him as he closed his scroll.

"Alright, the drones are out of the way, but we can't run any risks. Bi Han, order your forces to take out anyone who would try to interfere." He ordered as Blake looked at him confused.

"Take out? You mean kill them? Adam, that's not the reason we're here." She reminded him.

"Things change, Blake. You should understand that." He replied as he proceeded through the train car, but Blake got in his way.

"I didn't join this mission to kill innocent people!" She yelled.

"There are no innocents in war! Hanzo and his Shirai Ryu dogs learned that the hard way when they turned me down." Adam argued as Blake's eyes widened in shock of what she just heard.

She backed away from him as her hands trembled in shock. "What did you do?" She asked him as Sub-Zero turned away, while Adam narrowed his eyes behind his mask as he approached her.

"What I did, Blake. I showed what happens to those who don't fall in line." He informed her as Blake stared at him in shock, not recognizing the man she once fell in love with. "And I will cut down anyone who questions my choices. What I do is for all faunus kind, for our freedom." He declared as he reached his hand to her face.

But Blake shook her head and smacked his hand away. "And I guess that includes me as well?!" She asked him as Adam fell silent. "I joined the White Fang to stand up for our rights, not murder innocent people that had nothing to do with this!" She yelled.

"There's no going back Blake, you're part of this whether you believe in it or not." Adam told her.

"No, I'm not. Because you are changed, Adam. The man I knew back then would never resort to these sort of actions, or doubt the loyalty of his followers. You're not the man I love anymore, you're just a murderer." She told him as Adam snapped and smacked her in the face, knocking her down as she cried out in pain.

Sub-Zero saw it as he looked towards Adam, narrowing his eyes as Adam approached Blake. "I thought you of all people would understand, Blake. But I guess if you won't be part of the solution, you'll be part of the problem with this world." He told her as he raised his sword and attempted to finish her, but he soon felt a cold chill behind him as he turned around and saw Sub-Zero froze two of the faunus that stood in his way. He took their heads and smashed them together as pieces of their skulls scattered across the floor towards Blake, who gasped in shock at what she witnessed as she tried to prevent herself from vomiting. "What is the meaning of this, Sub-Zero?!" He asked him.

"You dishonor your people in committing mass genocide." He told him.

"Oh please, you are one to speak of genocide when you were responsible for the masacre of an entire village!" Adam argued with the assassin.

"That wasn't me." He replied as he formed swords made of ice. "You promised my clan glory, but this is nothing but senseless violence and I refuse to be a part of your plans any longer." He told him as Adam glared and pulled out his sword, he went to attack him as the assassin parried and deflected his attacks as he exchanged his own attacks towards the faunus. Adam avoided his attacks as Blake backed away and hid herself as she watched them fight each other, Sub-Zero blocked Adams attacks and parried his next strike as he formed ice around his feet as he slid towards him. He knocked Adam off his feet as he flipped him over and formed a mace out of an icy skull and spine as he struck Adam across the back.

Adam cried out from it as he hit the ground, shaking his head as he turned towards the assassin who stood there with his cold glare. But Adam was determined as he pulled himself off the ground and held his sword out, he yelled as he charged towards him in anger. But Sub-Zero formed an ice clone as Adam struck it and froze him up to his shoulders as he groaned from how cold it was. Sub-Zero traded blows with him as he punched him a few times and struck him with an icy spear.

Blake watched as the two fought each other, trading blows as they parried each other's sword strikes. She knew that she couldn't stick around to see who would win, but where would she even go? The assassin evaded Adam's attacks as he punched him across his face and leapt over him and smacked him in the back of his head with an icy skull. Adam held the back of his head from the strike as he groaned, but he wasn't going to stop until the assassin was no more. He yelled as he went to cut him down.

The assassin deflected his attacks with his ice swords as he parried them as he struck him against his head with his elbow as he kicked him hard in his chest and threw him over his shoulder, slamming him across the ground as Adam cried out in pain from it. Sub-Zero narrowed his eyes as he went to stomp him down, but Adam rolled away to avoid getting his head crushed as he slashed his sword at him. He parried Adam's attacks as his swords clashed with his and they pushed each other back, trying to overpower each other.

Sub-Zero eventually kicked against his right knee, making Adam kneel as he got kneed in his right jaw as Sub-Zero knocked him away. The impact caused Adam's jaw to fracture as he let out a painful grunt while he fell to the ground. He groaned from it as Sub-Zero attempted to kill him, but Adam pushed himself up as he kicked Sub-Zero across his chest and punched him a couple times against his face to overpower him. He managed to land a flurry of punches against Sub-Zero as he took his sword and went to stab him, but the assassin caught his blade and froze it down to his hands as Adam's hands were covered in ice.

He groaned, feeling frostbite around his hands as he struggled to get free as Sub-Zero held him down. "You were always a fool to think that you could ever be a leader. All you are is a rabid dog that's been let off its leash." He told him as he formed a giant sword made of ice, making Adam's eyes widen in horror as Sub-Zero raised the sword up. "And any rabid dog should be put down." He declared as he went to cut him down, till a torrent of flames burst between them.

It pushed Adam away as it knocked him down to the ground, while Sub-Zero stepped back shielding himself from the intense heat as he looked at the fire. A silhouette appeared in the torrent as it revealed Scorpion as he stepped through the flames. He opened his eyes and glared at Sub-Zero as the assassin's eyes widened when he saw him. Even Blake and Adam found it hard to believe what they were looking at. "You will die for what you did to my family and clan." He told him.

Sub-Zero narrowed his eyes as he rebuilt his composure and stood up. "To Hell with your clan!" He shouted.

"No. To Hell with YOU!" Scorpion charged at his enemy and threw two of his spears at him, forcing Sub-Zero to form a wall of ice to shield himself from the spears as they pierced into the ice. He sent a trail of ice along the chains of ice as they flowed towards the ninja specter, he quickly released the chains and avoided the ice that almost hit him. He charged at Sub-Zero as the assassin forced the ice to fly towards Scorpion.

He quickly teleported through hellfire to escape the flying shards, while Sub-Zero saw him reappear as he tried to freeze him with ice. But shot after shot, he kept missing Scorpion as he teleported behind him and went to strike him. The assassin quickly dodged it as he left an ice clone in his place as Scorpion shattered it with his swords. Sub-Zero formed a pair of ice daggers as he slid towards the ninja specter and went to slash him as Scorpion parried his attacks and teleported away and appeared to slash at him as the assassin blocked his attacks and ducked from a strike to his head and stabbed Scorpion in his side.

He let out a grunt as he dropped his swords and held his wound while Sub-Zero punched him in the chest, leaving a patch of ice as he kicked him away. Scorpion backed away as he held his chest and exhaled as his breath could be seen, he saw Sub-Zero coming towards him as he attempted to punch him. The ninja specter leaned to his right as he caught his arm and slammed his elbow against his arm and shattered it. This caused Sub-Zero to scream in pain as Scorpion threw him over and slammed him over the ice he created. He attempted to stomp on him, but Sub-Zero leapt away as he shot a few shards of ice at him.

Scorpion lunged towards him as he caught the icicles and plunged them into Sub-Zero's skin as he let out a painful cry. "That is for my family and clan!" He yelled as he and Sub-Zero landed on the ground. "This is for my brother!" He yelled as he punched him hard in the face, knocking out a few teeth and fracturing his skull as Sub-Zero groaned as he was forced to stand up. "And this… is for Harumi!" He yelled as he punched a hole into Sub-Zero's chest, making him grunt in pain as the ninja specter ripped his heart out. He soon grabbed Sub-Zero's head and ripped it off as he placed it where his heart used to be.

Adam's eyes widened in pure horror from what he witnessed, while Blake watched in terror as the ninja specter watched as Sub-Zero's body collapsed to the floor. He raised his head and unleashed a beastly roar as flames surrounded his body, while Adam backed away but found Blake as he quickly grabbed her and held his blade to her throat, causing her to yelp as Scorpion turned towards them. "Stay back! I'm warning you Hanzo." He told him as Scorpion narrowed his eyes on him. "Yeah, don't think I didn't recognize you and your fighting technique. You should have stayed dead with the rest of your clan." He told him.

But Scorpion glared as he looked towards Blake, seeing her terrified state as he gripped one of his spears and looked towards Adam. "You forget… Hanzo Hasashi is dead. I am…" He paused as he quickly vanished and appeared next to him as he grabbed Adam's blade and pushed her away as he stabbed Adam in the shoulder and forced a train door to open as he held him out. "Scorpion…" He declared as he kicked Adam out as he screamed and fell into the forest.

The ninja specter watched as Adam disappeared into the foliage, while Blake stared at him in fear as the overwhelming fear caused her to faint and fall to the floor. Scorpion sensed it as he turned towards her, seeing she passed out from being overwhelmed. He stared at her as he looked towards the controls of the train and found an emergency brake system. He reached to it and pulled it as the brakes automatically locked along the railroad tracks as it was reaching the next station. He approached Blake and lifted her up as he vanished through a fiery vortex with her.

(Beacon Academy, Vale)

The vortex of fire appeared on a rooftop as Scorpion stepped through with the unconscious Blake, he gently set her down as he looked at her. He moved her hair a bit as he looked at her, while a portal from Netherrealm opened behind him revealing Quan Chi as he stepped through. "So you succeeded in your mission?" He asked him.

"I did." Scorpion replied as he stood up and turned to him. "You held your end of the bargain, now tell me what it is you want." He demanded as he wanted to get it over with.

"Skilled and to the point. Smart." Quan Chi complimented as he chuckled. "Long ago, my master Shinnok was unjustly imprisoned in Netherrealm. This is the key to his release." He snapped his fingers showing an image of Shinnok's amulet as Scorpion examined it. "It is being kept somewhere here in Beacon Academy and held by Professor Ozpin, the putrid mortal that is training the next generation of warriors to fight against the Grimm and the Emperor of Outworld. Get me that key. Once my master is released, he can return your family, even the love of your life, back to the mortal realm. Do we understand each other, Scorpion?" He asked him.

He nodded his head as he turned towards the sorcerer. "Know this, I'm not doing this for you or your god. I'm doing this for my brother and Harumi. If you try double crossing me, you will be the next to lose your head." He warned him.

This made the sorcerer chuckle as he opened a portal. "Then we better get you enrolled, don't you think?" He asked as Scorpion nodded his head and proceeded to the portal with him, knowing this mission will be difficult, especially with the tight security. Meanwhile as the ninja specter and the sorcerer headed into the portal, Blake began to stir as she noticed the portal and saw Scorpion inside it with Quan Chi as the portal closed. She groaned as she held her head and looked at where the portal was, seeing it was gone and looked out towards Beacon. She was confused about how she got here, but the burn marks on the roof told an entirely different story as she slowly figured it out.

(Beacon Ship, Signal, Vale)

A Beacon Academy Ship was beginning to depart as the ramps were being pulled in. But one student was rushing towards the ship as he was carrying six bags. Johnny clearly slept in as he rushed towards it. "Hold the boat! I'm comin'!" He exclaimed as he ran towards it.

One of the passengers poked her head out, revealing herself to be a busty blonde who is none other than Yang Xiao Long. She reached out to him as she held onto the ship. "Quick! Grab my hand!" She exclaimed as Johnny ran towards her as fast as he could, he jumped from post to post as he leapt towards her and caught her hand as she pulled him in quickly.

He landed on the floor of the ship as he exhaled and panted heavily as he was out of breath, he looked towards Yang as he tried to catch a breather. "T-Thanks, I owe you one." He told her as Yang waved her hand a bit.

"Don't mention it, just be glad I didn't throw you out instead." She told him as she cleaned her hand and stood up straight as she soon got a better look at him. "Wait, youre Johnny Cage, aren't you?" She asked as Johnny nodded his head. "What's a guy like you doing on this ship?" She asked him.

"Eh, my agent Steven said that going to Beacon might help me get back on track with my career. So I thought I'd give it a try." He explained as he got up from the floor and dusted himself off and picked up his bags. "And what name might you go by?" He asked her.

"Names Yang. Yang Xiao Long." She introduced herself as she shook his hand.

"Catchy name, I like it. So you're heading to Beacon too?" He asked her.

"Yeah, transferring from Signal." She told him as he nodded approvingly while examining her body, which she was not comfortable with. "Hey, mind not mentally undressing me?" She asked him.

He panicked as he backed up. "Sorry, sorry, why don't we go see who else is on board." He suggested as he took his bags and walked with her, they made their way through the ship as Johnny tried to get past a few passengers that were heading for Beacon. "Coming through everybody, coming thro-" He paused as he accidentally slipped and fell towards a young red head as she yelped as he fell on top of her. "Oh fuck." He panicked while Liu Kang and Kung Lao noticed from where they were standing.

"Ohhh, that's awkward." Kung Lao commented as Liu Kang nodded his head in agreement.

The girl he fell on top of was none other than Ruby Rose, Yang's beloved baby sister. She noticed that Johnny was still on top of her as she panicked. "Uhhh, sir? Mind getting off of me please?" She asked him.

He looked to her and saw that his face was close to her chest as he blushed and quickly pulled away from her as he adjusted his shades and cleared his throat. "S-Sorry! I hope no one else saw that, I was wearing slip ons." He admitted.

"Yeah, I saw it." Yang told him as she smacked him in the back of his head. "That's my sister you bumped into!" She yelled as she helped her up and hugged her happily, much to her dismay. "Ohh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" She cheered.

But Ruby was having none of it. "Please, stop!" She begged while trying to gasp for breath.

Her big sis quickly released her as she looked at her. "But I'm so proud of you!" She told her.

"Really sis, it was nothing." Ruby said reluctantly.

"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang told her as she could picture students gossiping over Ruby.

"You know kid, your sis has a point." Johnny said as he walked up. "I for one had my fair share of gossip." He admitted.

"Well, I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby argued.

"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang asked her.

"Of course I'm excited… i just…" She paused as she sighed. "I moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything." She said as Liu Kang and Kung Lao looked at each other and took the opportunity to approach them.

"But you are special." Yang argued as she smiled at her and noticed the Shaolin Monks approaching.

"She's right, sometimes it's hard for someone your age to live a normal life." Liu Kang told her as he stepped up. "It's better to adapt to a subject that you are barely familiar with." He explained.

"In other words, you just have to accept it." Kung Lao added as he noticed Ruby staring at his hat as she was beaming like a little child.

"Oh wow… Does that hat have a blade?!" She asked in awe of it as she examined it. "It's so cool!" She exclaimed.

Seeing her gossip over it made Kung Lao chuckle as he glanced towards Liu Kang. "Finally, someone who appreciates my Chakram Hat." He boasted while Liu Kang rolled his eyes from hearing it.

"Oh, hey. New friends, great." Johnny said as he dropped his bags and shook Liu Kang's hand.

"Liu Kang, of the White Lotus Society. This is Kung Lao." He introduced himself and his brother.

"Ruby Rose, soon to be of Beacon Academy, and this is my sister, Yang." She introduced herself and her sister.

"Hello!" Yang greeted them.

"Johnny Cage, of the Superstar Variety. But you probably knew that." He pointed out as he noticed Sonya who was close by, "And you are?" He asked her.

She looked towards him with her arms crossed but sneered. "Not interested." She declared.

"Oh, you will be. They always are." He told her as he looked towards Liu. "So, you guys are heading to Beacon as well?" He asked them.

"Yes. Kung Lao and I have been training for many years to get into Beacon." He informed him.

"So that we may protect Remnant from beasts such as the Grimm." Kung Lao declared while taking his hat back from Ruby, much to her sad disposition as she moaned and pouted as she plopped to the floor.

"Oh, yeah? Listen." Johnny reached over and wrapped his arm around Liu Kang's shoulder. "I want to see our world protected from Grimm as much as the next person would like to be in acting classes and all, but places like Beacon and said classes are really kind of a time suck. You know what I mean?" He asked him as he pulled away, getting no response from the Shaolin Monks as he looked at them. "No? Anyway, my agent said this would really help me get back on the map. Kind of a back-end deal-type thing, should be fun."

"Oh it'll be fun. Trust me." Yang told him as her attention turned towards a newscast showing a robbery.

"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa." Cyril told the reporter.

"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" Lisa was about to continue till the news feed was cut off as a hologram of Glynda Goodwitch replaced it.

"Hey! We were watching that!" Johnny complained.

"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" She welcomed the would-be students.

"Who's that?" Yang asked.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch." She introduced herself.

"Oh." Yang replied.

"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it." She explained as the Shaolin Monks looked at each other and turned their attention back to Glynda. "You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." She told them as she disappeared.

"Sheesh, no pressure." Johnny commented.

"At least it will prepare all of us for the journey ahead." Sonya pointed out as she approached.

"Yes, and you all will face the biggest test of your lives." Said Raiden as he approached them.

Johnny noticed him as he grew curious. "Who's this? Let me guess. He's kinda like our Merlin?" He asked.

"That is Lord Raiden, Protector of Remnant." Liu Kang introduced him.

"Boom! Nailed it." Johnny cheered but realized. "Wait, protector? Are you guys for real? I mean this feels like a written script, I'd love a copy nonetheless. I've no idea what you're talking about, but I am pretty good at improv." He told them as he walked towards Raiden.

Meanwhile Ruby leaned towards Kung Lao and whispered. "Liu called him a protector, but aren't Hunters and Huntresses the ones supposed to protect Remnant?" She asked him as Kung Lao let out a chuckle.

"There is so much you need to learn, Miss Rose." He told her as she arched her eyebrows.

Meanwhile Johnny walked up to Raiden to meet with him. "Lord Raiden, right?" He asked as he shook his hand. "Good to meet you. So, tell me about this test you spoke of." He requested.

"Your time in Beacon will test your minds as well as your skills. For you will face not just Grimm, but beings from other realms." He informed him.

"Realms? Like different worlds?" Sonya asked him.

"Always the soldier. Evaluating risks. The realms have been at peace for many generations, but there is one that prefers them to be at war. If the Emperor Shao Kahn manages to reach your world, Remnant as you know it will cease to exist." He explained as Ruby and Yang looked at each other, fearing that this emperor may be a bigger threat than the Grimm.

"Not to fear, Lord Raiden. I, Johnny Cage, will make sure that Remnant, so dumb, will be safe from harm. You have my word on it." He said as he backed up.

Yang turned towards Liu Kang as she crossed her arms. "Care to explain what that's all about?" She asked him.

"Sometimes there are things best left unexplained." He told her as he looked towards her. "But when we get to Beacon, we'll explain everything." He assured her.

"Looking forward to it." Ruby replied as she looked out the window seeing several cities. "Oh, wow!" She rushed to it and saw them. "Look, you can see Signal from up here!" She said as her sister and their new friends looked out the window with her as they enjoyed the view. "I guess home isn't too far after all!" She said as Yang approached her and touched her shoulder.

"Beacon's our home, now." She told her as the group smiled but soon heard groaning as they saw a passenger, being none other than Jaune Arc, having a severe case of motion sickness as he ran to the back of the ship. "Well… I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang commented as she rolled her eyes.

"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby admitted as the ship proceeded to head for beacon.

"I wonder who we're gonna meet!" Yang said feeling excited.

"Let's just hope they're better than Vomit Boy." Johnny commented only to notice some vomit on Yang's shoe. "Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!" He told her.

This made her panic as she tried to get it off. "Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" She complained while trying to clean it off with Ruby's cloak.

"Get-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!" She exclaimed while Liu Kang and Kung Lao chuckled at the two sisters as Kung Lao shook his head.

"That's sisterly love for you." He commented.

"This trip will be quite the experience." Liu Kang replied as he looked out, while Johnny cleared his throat and turned towards Sonya without opening his eyes.

"Well beautiful, since it's a long trip to Beacon, maybe we should take this chance to get to know one another-" Before he finished his sentence, Sonya was already walking away to ignore him. "Oh come on!" He complained as Kung Lao patted him on his shoulder to cheer him up, but walked away to join Liu Kang while Johnny was left alone to enjoy the view.

(Author Notes: Hey guys, Leonidas1994 here. As you know, I am literally stumped on ideas, but thought I'd do reboots of some of my stories, because… reasons. Its tough, I will admit, mainly because the original just wasn't speaking to me. So I decided to make a new version, because it might work a lot more. You never know, but I hope you guys like what I did with this chapter.)
