Sora and Ruby rushed up to the door to the Captain's Quarters, ready to confront the captain at last. "Wait," Peter said, stopping Ruby in her tracks before she opened the door. As both she and Sora looked at Peter with confusion, he grinned mischievously. "I have an idea. Let's draw him out here in the open."
Everyone else looked up to see Peter silently telling them to lay flush against the walls down below. They could tell Peter had some kind of plan going by how he was whispering to Sora and Ruby, so they decided to trust him. As the rest of the group lay flush against the wall, Peter shifted to the right side of door and knocked at it while Sora and Ruby lay flush against the wall on the left side of the door
In his quarters, Captain Hook was shivering with fear of the Crocodile, hiding under the covers of his bed. He flinched at the knock on the door and peeked half his face through the sheets, speaking with lingering fear, "Is that you, Smee? Did you finish them off?"
A quiet snicker escaped Peter, Sora and Ruby joining him as they realized what Peter was about to do. As Peter plugged his nose, he spoke up again with his voice sounded just like Smee's. "Aye, Captain. They walked the plank. Every last one of them."
"Good job, Smee!" Hook exclaimed with relief and pride as he ran right out the door. His joy turned to confusion as he looked around, seeing nobody at all. "Smee? Where are you?! Smee!"
Right within his blind spot, Peter silently inched closer to Captain Hook with his dagger at the ready, and gave him a quick poke in his rear. The poke made Hook jump jumping ten feet in the air with a cry of shock and pain. As he turned, his face went through a rapid shift of shock and and fury as he realized what just happened. "P-Peter Pa- Blast you!"
Sora, Ruby, Donald and Goofy burst out laughing at Hook's shocked embarrassment. Everyone else looked upon the sight with reactions ranging from amusement to disbelief that he was actually dumb enough for that to work. Peter most of all was looking forward to driving the embarrassment even deeper. "Ready to make a splash, you codfish?" he asked, pointing at the pirate with that ever present smirk. "Now it's YOUR turn to walk the plank."
Hook however was not going to make this easy as he suddenly reached behind himself and procured...a wrapped gift. But appearances were deceiving as he yelled out "Fire!" and threw the present.
In the nick of time, a freed Tinkerbell frantically gestured with a burst of sparkles from around her. Something Peter understood as he yelled out, "It's a bomb!" Peter's translation was enough for to Ruby and Sora quickly jump down to the deck.
As they landed, everyone stood ready to fight. "You think I'm still alone, do you? Attack, ye Heartless fools!" Hook yelled. As he yelled that out...the only support he got was a single pirate ship Heartless. "Oooh, blast." he muttered as he saw the the group of insolent youths already flying up to intercept it. But in that moment, he noticed something else. Even more pitch black avian shapes circling overhead. A devious smirk touched his face as he readied his rapier.
Just as Sora and Peter were about to wail on the Heartless, Ruby their friends looked up and saw that their problems weren't over yet. "Look!" Pyrrha called out, pointing to the Grimm overhead. "Aw, come on! Give us a break already!" Jaune complained, barely remembering to block a cannonball from the Battleship Heartless.
The Nevermore were being dealt with by Ruby, Nora, Donald and Sun while Sora, Peter Pan and Neptune were going up against Captain Hook. The others were handling any Heartless he called out. As Peter was pushed back, Hook noticed Sora trying to come at him from the side and moved back to avoid him. "Come and get it~." Hook said tauntingly, waving his hooked hand at him.
Sora took the invitation as he charged at the captain, but didn't notice as Hook held another present behind him. Neptune however did see it as he flew up at Hook's side and dove in with his Tri-Hard held firmly. He used the shaft to tackle Hook with the building momentum. The present was dropped when they both flew over the ship and exploded in the water. Once Neptune and Hook realized what was below them, it was like time just stopped.
Both men let out pitiful cries of terror and, to the surprise of those who saw, Hook was running up through the air into one of the middle areas of the masts with Neptune desperately holding onto his waist. "You'll not get me other hand!" Once he thought he was safe, he saw there was no solid ground and plummeted to the deck of his vessel, landing onto some crates and barrels in great pain.
"Ooooh my gosh...That was so scary..." Neptune shuddered while holding himself in a downright pitiful manner.
"Thanks Neptune! You saved me there!" Sora said with a wave, realizing he was saved by him then flew to Hook.
Neptune smiled weakly as he delivered an equally half-hearted thumbs up to Sora. "Y-Yeah...No problem." Sora's safety DID make it somewhat worth the trauma...but not enough to want to go near the water again.
As Hook regained himself, he was starting to lose his patience at getting knocked around or losing in any way while aboard his ship. "I'll run ya through!" he shouted angrily while flailing his rapier around and stomping towards Sora. Before he thought he'd hit him, Sora zoomed right up and out of area. "Where did they go?"
He received his answer as Peter Pan poked him n the back with his dagger. The hand deprived captain engaged in a flurry of exchanged blows with the hovering ginger haired boy as everyone else kept the Heartless and the Nevermore occupied.
Though the Heartless weren't that many initially, when the Battleship was defeated, another one rose in its wake. As if the Nevermores didn't have Ruby and the others occupied enough, the Heartless really knew how to make what seemed to be an easy win, complicated. "Come on, already!" Jaune complained as he swung at the mast of the Battleship, followed by Nora slamming it into wood splinters and a heart rising free from it as Sora dove in to help them. He saw Peter had Hook well and truly occupied, so he needn't worry about the pirate. Plus, the Nevermores were proving to be quite a problem for the huntresses above.
The Nevermores were giving team RWBY a run for their money as they swooped and dove and launched their razor sharp feathers as projectiles. The boon of flight from Tinker Bell was proving invaluable in avoiding them and keeping pace with the avian Grimm. But the tide turned when suddenly, a pair of fireballs struck one Grimm in the underbelly and a certain round shield smacked one in the beak. The burnt Nevermore soon found itself getting twin blades through its jugular, followed by Ruby taking advantage of that opening by dashing foward and cleaving the grimm in two with scythe and Semblance. The dazed grimm was finished off by a rapid pummeling by Yang who finished her combo by kicking it in the direction of Weiss who skewered it through the head, leaving it open for Blake to deliver a decapitating finisher. With the Grimm destroyed, the huntresses and huntsman gave a nod to one another, and one to their comrades below.
"This is so cool!" Ruby said, twirling about, as if they hadn't just been fighting for their lives. A display which made Weiss shake her head at her partner's overly carefree attitude.
As for Hook, by now, he'd he'd had enough of Peter Pan's mocking antics. "Fly! Fly, you coward!"
Peter suddenly stopped flying as he landed atop one of the sails of the Jolly Roger. His face was filled with surprise and irritation. Did Hook just call him a... "Coward? Me?"
Seeing how his words affected him, Hook smirked confidently. He'd gotten under Peter Pan's skin and injured the boy's pride. "Hahaha~. You wouldn't dare fight old Hook, man to man. You'd fly away. Like a cowardly sparrow." the pirate captain said while climbing the ropes to reach his arch enemy.
The wound to his pride made Peter drop any and all mischief as he furiously called back to Hook. "Nobody calls Pan a coward and lives." He'd prove to the old codfish he wasn't a coward. "I'll fight you man to man. With one hand behind my back."
Just as he made his point literal, sliding his left hand behind the small of his back, Hook swiped his rapier at Peter, locking his rapier against Peter's dagger. "You mean you won't fly?" Hook asked as he towered over the boy who kept his composure in the face of his nemesis.
"Peter, no! He's baiting you! It's a trick!" Sun shouted, barely managing to avoid a Battleship as he swooped in to break apart the massive sail coming out the middle of it. The Heartless were easily dealt with, but if Peter actually fell for Hook's taunts, then...
Sadly, that was proven true as Sun's words didn't reach Peter at all. The boy simply answered Hook's inquiry with a firm and honest response of..."I give my word, Hook."
"Good!" Hook replied with a sinister grin as he pushed Peter back. "Then let's have at it!"
Peter grabbed the ledge of the furled sail, hanging on and looking down fearfully. Hooks heel was dug into his fingers, causing him to writhe in pain and let go. Fortunately he snagged one part of the rope, managing to scramble back up in time to block some of Hook's swings. Just as he managed to gain footing, Hook nearly cut him across his torso but jumping back made him airborne again. The same swing cut a rope near the crows nest so with another reaction of dexterity, Peter grabbed it and swung to the other side. The rope he had was cut before he could properly stand because Hook immediately slashed through it then nearly toppled Peter off as the boy staggered. At one point as they clashed weapons, Hook parried Peter's dagger and effectively caught it in his hooked hand and tossed it away when Peter fell back trying to take it from him. "Insolent youth," Hook said with sinister glee at making Peter crawl back, his blade aimed at Peter's chest. "Prepare to die!"
"Peter, fly! Get out of there!" Ruby called out desperately. He couldn't just let himself get killed because of Hook's taunting!
Sora couldn't just stand by and watch this happen. "Hang on, Peter!" Sora said, rushing toward Peter to intercept Hook's rapier.
"No!" Peter yelled out, making Sora stop short. "I gave my word." He wasn't going to go back on it now, even with Hook rearing his weapon back to skewer Peter in the heart. But in that grim moment, Peter looked up to see the ship's Jolly Roger flag waving above them. In a desperate move, Peter forced himself up and jumped as Hook thrust at him. And just before Hook could recover and finish him, Peter pulled the flag over his face, making him drop his weapon in shock as Peter tied it around Hook's body and grabbing his rapier, turning the tables on the pirate. "You're mine, Hook!"
Everyone cheered as they saw Peter got the better of Hook. Just when they thought Peter was doomed, he managed to turn it all around at the last second and win. "Yeah! Cleave him through the brisket! Arrrr!" Nora cheered, letting out a silly pirate growl.
Hook slipped out of his flag prison, a simpering whimper in his voice as he pleaded to the boy. "You wouldn't do old Hook in, would you lad?" he asked as tears began to stream down his cheeks. "I-I'll go away forever. I-I'll do anything you say!"
Peter's face shifted with confusion. Was Captain Hook begging for his life? After everything he'd done to terrorize him, his fellow lost boys, Tinker Bell, and Wendy? Peter didn't trust him for an instant, but... "Well, okay. If you...say you're a codfish!" Peter said with his ever present youthful cheek. If he was letting Hook go, he was going to humiliate him as much as possible.
Though the demand was absurd and humiliating, Hook gave an audible gulp and managed to eke out a weak, "I'm a codfish..."
"Louder!" Peter demanded, thrusting Hook's rapier dangerously close to his stomach. After lurching back to avoid being skewered, Hook shut his eyes and screamed out in complete and utter defeat,
"I'M A CODFISH!"
Amused and excited at the Captain's defeat, Jaune took out the last of the Heartless before he, Sora, Ruby, Donald, Goofy, and Nora all mockingly sang, "Hook is a codfish, a codfish, a codfish~. Hook is a codfish, a codfish, a codfish~." and even the Crocodile in the water happily splashed the water in rhythm to their taunting with a wide open smile.
"Normally I don't condone such childish behavior," Weiss said neutrally before snickering, "But seeing that hooligan of a pirate lose all his dignity after everything he's put us through is nothing short of a comeuppance."
"The only thing I disagree with is him being a codfish," Blake said, softly grinning at the humiliation of their enemy. "People make terrible fish."
"You made a good catfish back in Atlantica." Yang said to her with a wink, earning a hand to the face and a roll of the eyes from the feline faunus.
"Alright, Hook. You're free to go. And never return." Peter spoke in declaration as he tossed Hook's sword away. Sighing with relief at not losing his life, Hook noticed a moment of opportunity as Peter has his back turned to him and flew up to make a victorious animal shout sounding like a rooster. He slipped out the flag and raised his hooked hand right behind Peter's head.
"Peter!"
Thanks to Sora's warning shout Peter avoided the swipe of Hook's with a quick kick off the sail, flying right over where the hook swung for its otherwise fatal blow. The momentum caused him to lose balance right over the edge of the sail mast. Fear came over Hook's pale face as he screamed, seeing himself come closer to the water and the excited crocodile that opened its mouth, eager to catch him in it. And sure enough, Hook fell right in as he and the crocodile below sank under the water and the flag of the Jolly Roger landed where they last were.
"What a pity. Seems we lost the poor captain." Neptune said with a sigh of false sorrow as he theatrically lay his hand on his chest.
"Smee!"
To everyone's amazement, Hook was still alive, albeit scared out of his wits as he ran across the water with his upper half concealed by the flag.
"Sme-" Hook's desperate screams for his first mate were cut off as the crocodile popped up, mouth open, and gulped him down as he ran right into its hungry maw. Everyone watched in wide-eyed disbelief as the shape of Hook seemed to keep running downward til he bumped against the internal rear end of the predatory reptile...only to suddenly run back up the front end. Before anyone could ask how that was even possible, Hook burst out of the crocodile's mouth, his clothing in tatters, with the clock that had been ticking inside of the crocodile. Now it was ringing with a loud alarm. Realizing what he was holding, Hook desperately threw the one signal for him to know the crocodile was around back into its mouth as it tried to snap him up. The crocodile's head jostled about from the loud, annoying ring reverberating through its skull. It swallowed the clock again, shaking its head as the ringing stopped, before turning back to Hook, grinning hungrily as it resumed the chase.
"Smeeeee!" the captain cried out as he swam for his life at the sight of the reptilian maw he feared so much. Somehow he managed to pull his legs up in a position that should have made swimming impossible as his arms continued to paddle. Just as the crocodile was about to snap him up again, Hook shifted his legs into a desperate split, stopping its jaws in their tracks as he again cried out, "SMEEEEE! SMEEEEE!" The crocodile pushed against the legs of the desperately arm paddling Hook, trying to snap him up, though Hook tried to stretch himself outward as much as possible. And the opposition ended up launching Hook, making him skip across the water like a stone as the crocodile snapped its jaws shut.
"SMEEEE-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E!"
The fleeing Smee looked with horror to see his captain skipping across the water right under the rowboat he was using to escape, followed by the crocodile. "Captain! Captain!" he called out, rowing after them as fast as he could.
A most humiliating defeat.
