A storm was coming. Lightning struck somewhere in New York.

Leonardo: In our ninja training, Master Splinter is constantly telling us that when given two choices...

The turtles drew their weapons as the Foot Ninja made a path for a man in a metal suit with sharp swords piercing out of his suit.

...always choose the harder path. But somehow when you're a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The harder path always seems to choose you.

The man in the metal suit prepared himself for a fight as lightning struck behind him.

In the sewers, the turtles were doing weapons training. Leo swung his katana at Raph but Raph blocked his attack with his sais. Raph pushed him back with his sais and kicked Leo in the stomach. Donna attacked Leo with her bö staff but Leo blocked her attack with his katanas.

"You know what I like best about weapons practice? The weapons," Raph told them while holding his sais proudly.

Mikey used one of his nunchucks to wrap around one of Raph's sais and threw him across the room. "Too bad you're stuck with those toothpicks and not a real weapon like the nunchucks."

Donna flipped Mikey on his shell with her bö staff. "Sorry, boys." She used her bö staff like a pole to do a flip. "But the bö is where it is at."

"Boys and girl," Leo's swords shined in the light as he prepared himself. "Put away the toys." He jumped in the air with his swords in his hands. "Double katana is the only way to play." Donna, Raph, and Mikey prepared themselves for Leo's attack but it did nothing. Leo defeated Donna and Mikey with one slice of his swords. Raph tried to win but he failed. His sais got stuck in the wall and he fell to the ground. Leo stepped in front of his head as he rubbed it in pain. "What'd I tell ya? Double katana, pretty sweet, huh?"

Donna just rolled her eyes. "Nice one, Leo," She told him sarcastically. 'So honorable with your weapon, bro... not.'

"Lucky," Raph said grumpily.

"Not so lucky for my tail, it just got kicked."

"Well fought, Leonardo." Master Splinter walked up to his oldest son. The others stood up and stood right by Leo in a line.

Leo did a slight bow at Master Splinter and told him, "Thank you, Sensei."

"You have won, but do you know why?" He asked him.

"Well, I have two superiors weapons. I read where Sword Master Musashi said, "The katana blade holds the soul of steel and is the truest guide to the Warriors way which is kind of how I feel," Leo told him. 'And I won. Swords are the best weapon. Pretty much all ninjas use them.'

"Many things are said, but few are true," Master Splinter told him.

"Huh?" Leo said confused.

"Master Splinter's got that look," Raph whispered to Donna and Mikey.

"I think somebody's gonna get it," Donna whispered.

Mikey laughed at the thought of that and Master Splinter heard him. "Michelangelo." Mikey gasped knowing that he was now in trouble. "Do you think I am funny?"

"Um... yeah. I mean sometimes..." Donna facepalmed herself. "...there was that time you told that joke about the ox and the sparrow. It wasn't really a joke but it was funny and..." Donna elbowed Mikey in the stomach to get him to stop talking. "...I mean... No, Master Splinter."

Master Splinter sighed heavily. He walked down to the training area and stood in front of Leo. He set his walking stick down and told Leo, "Leonardo, attack me with your katana." The other turtles stepped back a good few feet away knowing that something was going to happen to Leo.

"Master Splinter, I..." Leo tried to get words out but Master Splinter told him, "Do it... now."

Leo didn't hesitate. He got his katanas ready. He swung one katana at Master Splinter and he caught it with ease. Leo gasped in shock. 'I knew Master Splinter was skilled but he can stop my katana with just his hands!' Even Raph, Donna, and Mikey were shocked at Master Splinter's skill.

"Is this the great and glorious weapon of which you speak?" Master Splinter asked him. "Helpless before an old rat such as myself?" Master Splinter released Leo's sword and told him, "Again. With both." Leo swung both of his katanas down at Master Splinter and he dodged them with ease. Master Splinter got his walking stick and used it to block each of Leo's attacks without an issue. Master Splinter spun his walking stick and disarmed Leo. He put his walking stick under Leo's chin and told him, "In the hands of a true ninjitsu master, anything can be a deadly weapon." Donna, Raph, and Mikey laughed at Leo, who got showed up by their master. "Remember, a weapon is only as good as the arm that wields it, Leonardo." Master Splinter threw his walking stick into Raph's punching bag and it got stuck inside. "Until you have learned this lesson, you have learned... nothing."

Later that night, Leo was alone on a rooftop with a stack of newspapers next to him. "I don't get it." Leo took out his duel katanas and held them with pride. He jumped in the air and did a spin. "What haven't I learned?!" Leo jumped in the air with his katanas above his head. "My skill's the best its ever been!" Leo lifted up the newspapers in the air with his katanas, cut the string holding them together, then started to slice them into a million pieces in anger. "I just don't get it!" When he was done, he was breathing heavily and the newspaper he cut were in stars that were raining down upon him. "Master Splinter just doesn't understand how important these are to me."

From another rooftop, a Foot ninja had a bow and arrow ready. He shot it and before it hit, Leo sliced it in half. He looked around for who shot it at him but found no one. 'What's that?' Leo put his katanas away and picked up the arrow half with the rolled up paper on it. "Okay, it's not your regular mail, I guess Mikey would call it, "Airmail"." Leo unraveled the note and began to read it.

Warrior, if you are reading this note, you have passed the first test. I call upon you as a point of honor to meet with me. If you follow the way of Bushido, you will come, and you will come alone.

"Hmm. 16 South Boyle. That's not far." Leo looked at the note once more then decided that he would go to the location on the note. He jumped off the roof and landed on the street. With the stealth of a ninja, he snuck around in the shadows to another alley. He never even could detect the three shadows trailing behind him. Leo found the building that he needed to go to then he looked around before entering the door.

Once Leo was inside, Raph, Donna, and Mikey jumped off the rooftop they were on. They walked to the door he entered and Mikey opened the door. "Man, Leo's been acting funny all day and I don't mean haha funny. I mean funny funny."

"I agree. It's not like him to go off like this," Donna agreed then she walked off.

"Yeah, he's acting like me."

"Oh great. That's just what we need. Another you. Now another me would be a different story. That would be a good thing."

"Boys!" Raph and Mikey looked at Donna who was hanging on the railing. "Are you coming or what? We need to watch Leo and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid."

Leo walked inside the small dojo. 'Something is not right. I should be careful.' Leo kept his guard up as he looked for one who called him. "Hello?" No one answered him back. "Hello?" He called out again. Leo looked around and he nearly screamed. He saw the same symbol that he always saw on the mysterious ninja that always attacked him and his siblings. He growled in anger. 'Great. I'm an idiot. Of course, this is a trap!' Leo walked closer to Foot symbol and just as he did, many Foot Ninja came out of the shadows.

Donna, Raph, and Mikey were watching from the roof through a window as Leo was being surrounded by 13 Foot Ninja. "13 to one..." Donna said as she got her Bō staff out.

"That seems pretty unfair. I mean there's only 13 of them." Mikey also got his weapon out but Raph held up his hand. "If Leo needs us were here but let's see what this is all about."

Leo got his katanas out as the Foot Ninja got their swords out. 'Great. Now I'm surrounded.' Leo did a flip and had his katanas crossed with each other. Once he landed on the ground, the Foot Ninja attacked. Three tried to attack him but he dodged their attack by rolling away. He kicked all three at the same time, knocking them out. Leo just kept knocking them out one by one and he even sliced some of their swords with no problem. It didn't take long for Leo to knock out all of the Foot Ninja surrounding him. 'Too easy... way too easy.'

Leo was taken out of his thoughts when he heard someone clapping. He turned towards the noise and saw a man in a white robe in the shadows clapping. He walked towards him with his guard high. "Impressive." The man stopped his clapping and put his arms to his side. "Very impressive. My agent said you were good but their description doesn't do you justice." The man walked out of the shadows revealing an older Asian man with blue hair. "I am Oroku Saki, eighth-generation master of ninjitsu and you are?"

Leo had his katanas at the ready. He didn't know what to expect from Oroku Saki who seemed to rule the Foot Ninja in front of him. Leo didn't seem to feel any ill intentions from him so he put his katanas away and did a small bow. "Leonardo."

Oroku Saki walked closer to Leo and he was intrigued by his appearance. "Your appearance... is very striking... its..."

Before Oroku Saki could finish his sentence, Leo told him, "It's not a costume. Although I know it's hard to believe."

Oroku Saki scoffed and stopped just inches near him. "Much easier to believe then you might imagine." He started to walk pass Leo while saying, "I have seen enough of this world to expect the extraordinary... and you are extraordinary. But I did not ask you here to flatter you. We have important matters to discuss."

"Then I take it you sent me this?" Leo asked taking out the note from his belt.

Oroku Saki nodded. "Yes, I felt it was urgent that we meet. There are things you need to know."

"There are definitely things I need to know, like why these ninjas... your ninjas have been trying to break our heads for months now," Leo said obviously angry and remembering the first moment he and his brothers and sister encountered the Foot Ninjas.

"That's exactly why we need to talk. We've been fighting each other when we should actually be on the same side, fighting against our true enemy."

Leo crossed his arms not 100% believing him. "I think I have the scars to prove that you guys are the true enemy."

Oroku Saki growled under his breath. "I see. To you, nothing is clear now. You have been caught in the middle of a battle that is so much bigger than yourself but there is a force, a corrupt and evil force that is out there right now, working its insidious tentacles into every aspect of our world. It is an organization devoted to obtaining power through crime, political manipulation, corruption on a global level."

"Whoa!" Leo was shocked. He never knew this kind of stuff was going on the surface.

On the rooftop, the turtles were watching as Leo was talking with Oroku Saki. They could barely hear anything their brother or Oroku Saki was saying. "Guys, anyone picking up what Leo or that human is saying?" Donna asked.

"Something about onions. Or maybe pepperoni or sausage in a deep-dish crust." Mikey licked his lips in hunger. 'Man, I could go for a pizza right now...' Raph smacked Mikey in the back of his head. "What? It's hard to hear... and I'm hungry."

Oroku Saki walked away from Leo and walked to a small smoking fire he had against the wall. "Unfortunately, the only thing standing against this evil force is me and mu humble army of ninjas. We stand alone against them as my master did and his master before him. It has been my destiny to fight for the side of good." Oroku Saki walked back to Leo who still had his arms crossed. "I was hoping that you would find it in your heart to join me and fight against this evil. We could stand together."

Leo uncrossed his arms and was now hesitant. "I...I..." He didn't know what to say.

"I would not ask you to decide here and now. Meditate upon what you have heard today and come again tomorrow night with your answer." Leo did a small bow then started to leave. "Wait." Leo stopped in his tracks. "There is one more thing." Leo turned back to Oroku Saki who clapped his hands. A Foot Ninja came up to them with a pillow in his hands and with a sword on it. Once the ninja stopped in front of Oroku Saki, Oroku Saki took the sword off the pillow. The sword had a black and red handle with the Foot symbol on the handle. "This sword has been in my family for 300 years. It was crafted by the master Toshi Kurihara in the sixteenth century. It is said that in the forging..."

"Kurihara folded the metal over 700 times to remove any impurities," Leo finished his sentence before Oroku Saki could. 'This blade was thought to be lost. Heck, I even asked Donnie if it was in a museum in Japan but she said it wasn't. But it's was here in New York, being wielded by a true Ninjitsu master.'

"Hmm..." Oroku Saki removed the sword from its case and held it in front of Leo. It shined in the light. 'Even though it's over 300 years old, it has no scratches on it.' Leo thought to himself. "Yes. You are impressive. It is for you to keep."

Leo put his hands up and shook his head. "No, I..."

Before Leo could finish his sentence, Oroku Saki told him. "Take it." He put the sword back in its case and gave it to Leo. "I wish you to have it..." Oroku Saki put his hand on Leo's shoulder. "...as a token... of my sincerity." Oroku Saki did a small bow then walked back into the shadows. Leo just stood in silence as he looked at the sword then back at Oroku Saki.

Up on the rooftop, the others, now seeing the full interaction between their brother and Oroku Saki, knew something was up. "Gee, and I thought Master Splinter said never to take swords from strangers," Mikey said.

Unbeknownst to the turtles, someone else was watching Leo. Two men in trenchcoats with black suits with a golden medallion around their neck. They were watching Leo through their glass leave Oroku Saki's home. "He is leaving now. We better report this back to the council." The black man with blue hair told the other one. The white bald man used his blue wristwatch to load up a hologram of two men and one woman with blue hair and all had the same eye color, blue.

"Yes?" All three said at the same time.

"One of the turtles, Leonardo, has spoken with Saki but we do not know the outcome."

"Find out..." The man with the blue beard started.

"...what the turtles..." The man with the red hat continued.

"...will do. If they..." The woman continued.

"...are with Saki we..." The man with the blue beard continued.

"...may be forced..." The man with the red hat said.

"...to destroy them." All three finished in the same monotone voice they had been using the entire time. The call ended with the two men just watching the turtles and making sure none of them are going to work with Oroku Saki.

A little later, Leo jumped on a rooftop from another alley. He took a moment to admire the sword he got from Oroku Saki. "This is beautiful."

Before Leo could take the sword out he heard Mikey call out, "Oh, Leonardo," Leo looked up and saw Donna, Mikey, and Raph approaching him from another rooftop. They landed on the same roof as him and Mikey said in an accent, "You have some 'splaining to do." Mikey crossed his arm and tapped his foot.

Raph approached him and asked, "Nice letter opener. Is that the price of sellin' out these days?"

Leo shook his head. "It's not like you think. I was invited to..."

Before Leo could finish his sentence, Raph walked up to him angrily and said, "To join up with them?!"

"No! I mean, yeah. But it's different then we thought. They're not the enemy. At least, I don't think they are. Everything Master Saki said..."

Now Raph was really angry. "Master Saki?! What's up with that?"

"Leo, we have a master, Master Splinter. Remember?" Donna asked him while putting her hands on her hips.

"Yeah, remember him? Really hair guy? About this tall?" Mikey used his hand to show Leo how tall Master Splinter is. "I don't think we can just ditch him."

Leo turned away from his siblings and told them, "I'm not talking about ditching anybody." Leo held onto the sword with both his hands as he remembered what Oroku Saki told him. "I'm talking about working with another group of ninjas in a fight against evil." He turned back to his siblings and told them, "Mikey, you're always going on about how we should do some good, serve a greater purpose. Well..." Leo lifted up the sword so to was in line with his shoulders. "...here's the greater purpose."

Mikey scratched his head and said, "I don't know, Leo."

Raph clenched his fist and stormed up to Leo. "What's this thing got? Some sort of mind control device again? Cause you're losing it, Leo." Raph took the sword from Leo and examined it himself.

Leo grabbed Raph by his shell and said, "Hey! Give that back, Raph!"

Raph just punched Leo back. "You can just get one of your news pals to give you another one!"

Leo tackled Raph down and the two fought for the sword. "Give it back!" Leo demanded.

"A fight between Leo and Raph?" Mikey said sarcastically.

"Oh, I didn't see that coming." Donna face-palmed herself.

Leo and Raph tugged on the sword and were pulled with all their strength to take it away from each other. Eventually, Leo decided that he had had enough so he threw Raph off the roof. "Raph? Raph!" Leo threw the sword away and he, along with Mikey and Donna, ran to the edge to make sure their brother was okay.

"Ha-ha! And you thought katanas were the best ninja weapons!" Raph was handing on to one of his sais which was stuck in the wall. Leo and Mikey pulled Raph back up on the roof.

"I am sure an idiot. You could have been really hurt," Leo told Raph.

"Yeah," Raph put his sai back in his belt and agreed with Leo. "You really are an idiot and I don't hurt that easily, sword boy." Raph playfully hit Leo once he finished talking.

Donna walked over to Leo, with the sword was in her hand and asked, "What are we going to do, Leo?"

"What I should have done in the first place... talk to Master Splinter."

The turtles went to the sewers and Leo told Master Splinter everything Oroku Saki told him. The turtles went to their meditative positions and sat in front of Master Splinter. They were waiting for him to give them answers. Master Splinter sighed as he was looking at the sword Leo gave him. "My sons and daughter, I had hoped this day would never come. I know who these people are. I have always known." Master Splinter showed them then cloth from the torn ninja suit from several months ago. "This is the symbol of the Foot Ninja, their leader is Oroku Saki but he had another name. He is... the Shredder. I have often told you of my beloved Master Yoshi but now it is time that I tell you the whole truth."

Master Splinter could remember the last night that he saw Master Yoshi alive. Before he was mutated, it was an average night, Master Yoshi was practicing his ninjitsu and he, in his cage, was imitating his moves.

As you already know, my master was a ninja of great power. One of the greatest practitioners of ninjitsu in many centuries. I was his pet rat and I learned ninjitsu by mimicking his moves. For many years, I was very happy. We were a family.

Master Yoshi did a kick in the air when suddenly, Hun smashed his way into Master Yoshi's home. Huh ordered the Foot Ninja to attack Master Yoshi.

But that life ended when The Shredder sent his Foot Ninja to my master.

Master Splinter watched as Master Yoshi was fighting the Foot Ninja. He was defeating them one by one, making them crash into training dummies and different piles of wood. Soon, Master Yoshi was surrounded by two Foot Ninjas. One grabbed him from behind and held back his arms but before the other Foot Ninja was able to do anything, Master Yoshi kicked him hard. However, he kicked the Foot Ninja into Master Splinter's cage, breaking it. Luckily, Splinter was unharmed.

My master battled honorably.

Master Yoshi kicked the final Foot Ninja into a table. He turned to Hun and was ready to fight but Hun, along with three other Foot Ninja, used a taser, wrapped around his arms and legs, to bring Master Yoshi down to the ground.

But through their dishonorable ways...

Hun and the Foot Ninja shocked Master Yoshi.

...the Foot Ninja overpowered him.

Master Splinter looked away as Master Yoshi was being painfully shocked by Hun and the Foot Ninja. Once Master Yoshi was weak enough, Hun and the Foot Ninja stopped shocking him.

Then the Shredder entered. They accused my master of working for their enemies.

Master Splinter jumped over his destroyed cage. 'I have to help him.' Master Splinter ran on the ground to find an opportunity to attack and help Master Yoshi.

They wanted information.

Shredder ordered Hun to shock Master Yoshi once more. Master Splinter jumped onto a box and watched in anger and fear.

They were relentless.

They stopped shocking him and sweat was dripping off his face.

But my master only said one thing.

"He... who lives without honor... will end without honor." Master Yoshi passed out from the pain and Shredder was unimpressed. "This is a waste of time. Finish him."

Hun took out his sword and was ready to end Master Yoshi's life.

I tried to save my master.

Master Splinter jumped on Hun, climbed up to his face, and scratched him on his face. Hun threw Master Splinter out the window in anger.

My efforts were in vain though I did leave my mark.

Master Splinter left three claw marks on Hun's left cheek and Hun fell to the ground in pain.

"BAH! I will finish you myself!"

Master Splinter was able to climb up to the window seal but he was too late. Shredder had his hand in the air and Master Splinter watched in horror and Shredder killed Master Yoshi with no hesitation.

The Shredder had taken my Master Yoshi from me, from the world.

Master Splinter fell on a trash bag then dropped to the ground in a puddle of water and just laid there.

Not long after that, I found you, my sons and daughter, and you all know the rest.

"I never told you this because I did not want your training to be tainted by the poison of hatred. I did not want you to feel the sorrow that is still in my heart but now, you need to know who Saki, the Shredder really is. He serves no great purpose. He fights no great evil. He is great evil. Any endeavor he undertakes, he does for his own selfish gain."

"Man, I am such an idiot." Leo clenched his hand into a fist and hit his leg. 'How could I have been so foolish? I could have gotten us all killed.'

Mikey elbowed Leo's arm and told him, "I could have told you that."

"You've been played, Bro. He saw you coming from a mile away," Donna told him.

"So what are we gonna do about it?" Raph asked him.

Leo punched his fist into his hand. "Shredder wants an answer. I think we should give him one... turtle style." The turtles bowed at Master Splinter and Master Splinter bowed back. 'Time to show Shredder that no one messes with our family.'

Later that night, it was obvious that it was about to storm since there was thunder and lightning. The turtles returned to the same building that Leo met Shredder in. The turtles had their weapons out and the Foot Ninja had their weapons out. They were both ready to fight. Leo stepped up with the sword he received early in his hand. "Tell your boss the answer is no and he can have his sword back." Leo threw the weapon into an air conditioning unit. It even stopped the rotors from moving. "Let's dance!"

Rain started to pour and the fight between the Foot Ninja and the turtles began to fight. Leo fought against two Foot Ninjas with his swords. Raph used his sais to stop the attacks from two other Foot Ninjas then he kicked one away then kicked the other away as well.

"Check it out. Nunchucks are not only good for playing the drums..." Mikey attacked the oncoming Foot Ninja with his nunchucks by knocked their swords away and knocked them all out. He brought them together like a step stool. "...but they're also good for giving a leg up to a fellow turtle."

Mikey lifted Donna in the air and she used his bö staff to put her in the center of several Foot Ninjas. "You said it, brother. However, a bö staff certainly comes in handy when a teenage turtle finds herself in the middle of a circle of angry," She hit some Foot Ninja with her Bö staff. "ugly ninjas!" She knocked them all out with just a few blows.

"You guys still going on about weapons?" Leo asked them with his katanas at the ready and Foot Ninja coming closer to him. He attacked the Foot Ninja and knocked them out as he said, "Weren't you listening to Master Splinter? It's not the weapon that matters. It's the ninja who wields it.

The turtles stood together and put their weapons away. All the Foot Ninja were knocked out and defeated. "Well, all in a day's work, boys," Donna told her brothers.

Donna and Mikey high-fived while Raph and Leo banged their shells together. "Turtles rule!"

Moments after the turtles celebrated their victory, Hun broke through the door leading up to the rooftop. "Not him again," Donna said.

"We beat him before we can do it again," Leo said determinedly.

"Yeah," Raph said ready to fight Hun.

"I've been looking forward to this rematch," Hun said, cracking his knuckles.

"Bring it!" Leo told him as he and his siblings took out their weapons. "If you've got the guts." Leo hard his swords cross and lightning struck at just the right time since shadows covered his face.

Hun roared in anger and charged at the turtles. The turtles screamed in triumph and with their weapons at the ready, charged at Hun. Hun jumped in the air and punched Donna causing her to slide back on the wet ground. Raph tried to attack Hun but with one sweeping motion, Raph was knocked back. Leo threw a kick at Hun but Hun caught his foot and threw him. Mikey was the only turtle standing. Mikey was lucky enough to dodge one attack from Hun but Hun grabbed Mikey by his shell and Mikey let go of his nunchucks as Hun threw him at Donna who was about to get up.

Raph came at Hun from behind and grabbed him by his neck. Hun grabbed Rapy by his right arm and started to throw him back and forth on the ground. Leo was on one knee, saw Raph knocked out and Hun was about to throw Raph off of the roof. Leo ran and kicked Hun hard enough to make him let go of his brother. Hun growled in anger and once he saw the abandoned sword that Leo threw, he smirked. He grabbed the sword and took it out of its case.

Now it was a fight between Leo and Hun. Sword vs Katanas. They were both evenly matched as Leo was able to block attacks from Hun and Hun blocked attacks from Leo. Leo soon got the upper hand and he kicked Hun on the back. Hun was dazed from Leo's attack for a second then he used the sword to disarm Leo's faster then he could anticipate.

"No, Leo!" Raph shouted.

"Get back!" Leo shouted. 'I don't want them to get hurt.'

"Look out!"

Leo jumped in the air and started to do air kicks in Hun's chest. He continued to kick Hun until he fell through the glass ceiling and landed on the ground hard. The swrod also fell and nearly cut Hun's ponytail off.

Leo watched him from the rooftop, making sure that he wouldn't get up. Once he was sure that Hun wouldn't get up, he walked away. Mikey and Donna walked over Leo and helped him keep his footing since he was hurt.

Mikey sighed with relief. "I think we'll sleep well tonight."

"Boys, that was not easy."

"Here, bro." Raph grabbed Leo's katanas and handed them to his brother.

"Thanks, Raph." Leo took the katanas and put them away.

Without them even noticing, the two men from earlier were wathcing the turtles again. The white man used his wrist watch to call his council members.

"Your report."

"Council members, It appears the turtles are against him."

"Good, yet it remains..." The man with the red hat started.

"...to be seen if the enemy..." The woman continued.

"...of our enemy is our friend." The man with the blue beard finished.

"Monitor them further..." The man with the red hat told them.

"...and keep us informed," The woman finished.

"Come on, guys, let's go home," Leo told his siblings. They were about to leave but more Foot Ninjas came out of the shadows. "Aw... shell!"

The turtles got their weapons out and the Foot Ninja did the same. The Foot Ninja jumped out of the way and Shredder, in his full armor, jumped onto the rooftop.
