Before all this started, Donna just wanted to research the crystals found in their home.

My name is Donatella and as a turtle of science. I like to investigate things.

Donna looked at a crystal through a microscope and it looked nothing like the rocks found on Earth that she had been researching lately.

But I never thought my study of the strange crystals we found in our lair would awaken creatures from the underground...

Mikey put two crystals together and they made a sound, awakening creatures beneath them.

...lead us on a search deep below the Earth...

The turtles went deep below their Earth with nothing but a few supplies and their weapons, along with two crystals.

...or take us to an abandoned foot genetics lab...

The turtles watched in horror as Foot Scientists mutated humans into monsters that live underground.

...where terrible things were done in the name of the Shredder.

"There are some things. "Man was never meant to tamper with."" Mikey repeated the lines that the man on the screen spoke at the same time as he did. "That's the one line in a monster movie you don't want to hear." The turtles left the lab to go home but were trapped by the monsters hunting them down.

As a turtle of science, you wouldn't think I'm the type to believe in monsters but you'd be wrong.

The turtles watched in horror as three monsters came out of the wall, a tall blue one who could spit acid, a red one with claws on his hands, feet, and back, and a tall beige one who looked like the muscle of the group.

Dead wrong.

The monsters walked closer to the turtles as they continued to back up in fear. "I think I speak for all of us when I say, zoinks." The turtles back up into the Foot genetics lab as the monsters got closer. The tall blue one spat a green liquid at them but it turned out to be acid since it burned through the floor.

Mikey and Raph gasped in shock but Raph wasn't having it. "That's it." Raph took out his sais, Donna took out her bō staff, Mikey took out his nunchucks, and Leo took out his katanas.

"Okay, you guys take the three on the left," Mikey told his siblings.

"There are only three," Raph told Mikey.

"There's one for each of you and I'll just be the odd turtle out," Mikey said clearly scared from his experience from watching monster movies.

"You're telling me," Raph told him. The turtles took out their weapons and were ready to fight the monsters in front of them. The red monster used this large claw to throw a broken machine at them and the turtles dodged it successfully. Donna, Raph, and Leo landed on the ground and ran to the monsters ready to fight them. Mikey, on the other hand, snuck around to hide from the fight since he didn't want to end up like the humans from the many monster movies he had watched in the past.

Donna fought the red monster. She hit it a few times with her weapons but it seemed unaffected by it. 'Okay, so these monsters are stronger than they look.' The monster then attacked her with his claws but she jumped out of the way. Suddenly, the monster grabbed her with its claw and threw her across the room.

Raph fought the gray rocky monster and seemed to be winning since he was able to kick it to the ground. Leo was fighting the tall blue one, who seemed to be the leader. Leo backflipped to dodge an attack from it but the blue monster grabbed him and threw him against the pole. Each of the turtles, except for Mikey, was fighting the monster. Leo stood up and stared at the monster drooling acid. 'How am I going to get out of this?' He looked at the pole, sliced it a part of it off, and kicked it at the monster. It proved to be useless since the monster dissolved it right in front of him.

Donna was also in trouble since the red monster was about to attack her but Raph saved her by kicking the monster away. Donna nodded in thanks to her brother and Raph did the same. The beige monster roared loudly and started to climb the rocky walls and ceiling. Once it got to a certain part of the ceiling, it began to eat through the ceiling then he dug through it. "Whoa!" Raph and Donna said at the same time. They watched as the monster dug through the ceiling and to Mikey and Leo, who were fighting the blue monster. "Mikey!" Raph ran towards Mikey and was able to tackle the monster down seconds before he could grab Mikey. "Watch your back, ya oddball," Raph told Mikey.

"You just called me odd, didn't you?!" Mikey asked him. Before Raph could answer, the beige monster tackled Raph. Mikey got out of his fighting position and stood with his nunchucks to a resting position in his hands. "I'm not odd. I'm eccentric." Donna was thrown near Mikey and he helped her up. "Raph thinks I'm odd," He told her.

Donna put a comforting hand on his shoulder and told him, "You're just being sensitive. Now, help us fight these monsters."

"Sensitive? If there's one thing I hate, is when people call me sensitive."

Leo rode a gurney into the blue monster and it rammed into an electrical panel. The monster fell to the ground but it barely had any damage done to it. Leo ran to attack the money but it spat some acid at Leo. Leo hid behind a control panel to dodge the attack. 'Ok. Maybe we're in over our heads.'

Donna was hitting the red monster with her bō staff which wasn't doing much damage as it was blocking her attacks. She ran in another direction as it chased her. Meanwhile, Mikey was fighting the rock monster but he ran away in fear. Raph, on the other hand, had no fear and tackled the monster head-on. He tried to do an aerial assault but this failed. The monster took Raph off of his back, grabbed Raph by the shell, and threw him near Mikey, but Raph was able to land on his feet next to him. "Hey, I know these monsters are vicious abominations but guys, we are not holding our own out there. Now, let's dig deep," Mikey said as he used his nunchucks to hit the red rocks coming at him. Raph jumped back into the battle with a kick and no hesitation.

The blue monster sprayed acid at Leo who rolled dodged it with ease. The acid hit the glass containers and burned them until water started to spray out. "You will take no more of us."

The glass containers started to crack and break with water coming out and no one noticed. "We're not here to take anybody," Leo told the monster. The glass containers broke and some large machinery started to fall and was going to crush the blue monster. Without hesitation, Leo pushed the monster out of the way, saving its life. "LOOK OUT!" Leo got in a crouch and asked, "Why have you attacked us?" The monster shook its head and was about to answer but the red monster came at Leo and threw him at the wall. Leo was about to hit the floor but Mikey came in and had Leo land on him. "You know something, Mikey. They're thinking we're somebody else."

"Oh, man. That's just great. We're getting out shells shellacked and it's someone else's fight."

Raph fought against the rock monster with his sais but wasn't able to do much since he was dodging the monster's attacks. Donna was fighting against the red monster with his bō. She stabbed him in the stomach then backed up as the monster held it in pain. Donna backed up until she got to Mikey and Leo. Raph joined them as well then Donna told them, "Then I vote we get the shell out of here."

"Run away? That ain't my style," Raph told them.

"Call it a tactical retreat. Let's move," Leo told him as he helped Mikey up.

"We're leaving." Donna used her Bō staff to push a button and it opened a door that the turtles escaped through except for Raph. The three monsters stared at him and the rocky one roared at him. "Tactical retreat, I can live with that." Raph put his weapons in his belt then ran to catch up with his siblings with the monsters chasing him.

The turtles ran into another larger room with green metal walls. They ran to the door across the room but Donna couldn't open it. "It's sealed tight." The turtles were cornered as the monsters came in pursuit. With no other options, the turtles worked together to close the door before the monsters could come in. However, it didn't last long as the monsters started to bang on the door hard, denting the door with ease.

The turtles backed away from the door in shock then Mikey said, "Somebody gonna answer that?" The door then broke down and flew across the room, luckily not hitting any of the turtles. The red monster came in and growled at them and the rock monster came in by digging a hole behind the turtles surrounding them. With their weapons at the ready, they backed up as the monsters got closer to them. They were about to fight again until the blue monster came in and shouted, "No."

The blue monster walked closer to the turtles as they were ready for another fight against the threat in front of them. The blue monster stood in front of them dripping acid from its mouth but the turtles still didn't feel safe. "Say the word, bro," Raph told Leo.

"Easy guys. It's okay," Leo told his brothers and sister.

The blue monster sniffed Leo then asked, "Who are you?"

"Not who you think we are."

"Then why do you carry those?" It asked as it pointed to Donna's bag. Donna slightly opened her bag to reveal the glowing blue crystals.

The red and rock monsters stood behind the blue monster and growled at the sight of them. "Whoa, wait a minute. We found these crystals in a cavern where we're staying. That's all," Leo told it.

"Yeah, and just what business is it of your anyway?" Raph asked it as it backed up a bit.

"Those crystals are the embodiment of evil. Why have you come here?"

"Cause one of you ogres went sniffing around our place looking for trouble, so we're here to..." Donna put her hand on Mikey's mouth to shut him up behind he caused more trouble. "To just look for some answers. That's all."

"I'm Leonardo and these are my brothers and sister. Raphael." Leo gestured to Raph. "Donatella." He gestured to Donna. "And Michelangelo." As Leo was talking, the turtles put away their weapons since the monsters were no longer a threat.

"We were drawn to your habitat when your crystals were activated."

"Gee, wonder who could have done that," Donna said in a sarcastic voice as she looked at Mikey who just shrugged his shoulders.

"Their energy is a sign of danger to us, so we considered you dangerous though we usually sense them coming from deeper below."

"Below? You mean there are more of these crystals down there?" Donna asked. The monsters started to walk away but Donna then said, "We'd just like to find out where they came from that's all, and maybe..." She said in a calm voice, wanting to appear non-threatening but the blue monster wasn't having it.

"NO!" She backed up to her brothers as the blue monster told them. "It's a forbidden place. Something unspeakable dwells there amidst the crystals. There are some things man was never meant to tamper with." Mikey was about to say something but Donna put her hand over his mouth. "He is an odd one."

The blue monster brought them back into the Foot Lab then Mikey told Donna and Raph, "I don't trust these guys."

"Why?" Raph asked him.

"Try the fact that they're monsters."

"Mikey, to be fair, to some people, so are we," Donna told him. Mikey smiled in embarrassment while scratching his head.

"I can't believe Shredder had you genetically altered as diggers just to search down here for some enemy," Leo told the blue monster.

"Yes, and he did so without remorse. We were forced against our will to do his bidding," The blue monster told him with anger in its eyes.

"He just snatched you at random. From where?" Leo asked.

"The streets. Our offices. Our homes. Anywhere a shadow could conceal a Foot Soldier. We don't know why we were chosen."

Leo looked at the monster with sympathy in his eyes then asked, "What's your name?"

"I am Quarry of tunnel squad three." Then pointed at the others. "The others are Stone Biter and Razorfist."

Leo shook his head then said, "No. Not what the Foot called you, your real name."

"S...S..." Quarry shook their head and put their hands on their head as if remembering hurt. "My memory is... the experiments performed on us have stripped us of who we are."

"Yes, we saw the video log entries," Leo told them.

"Well, don't worry about Shredder. He got his due," Raph told them as he leaned against a monitor.

"Yeah, he made the mistake of messing with the Ninja Turtles," Mikey told them. "There's a lesson to be learned in that if you know what I mean."

An alarm started to go off and beeping on the computer behind Raph. Quarry looked at the computer and a red light was beeping on the top right corner. "On no. The others. They tripped an alarm in the east delta tunnel. Hurry." They ran to the panel to activate the protective shield using one of the crystals but it wasn't working. Quarry tried everything to get it to work but nothing would happen. "No, no!"

"Don't do a no-no. I har no no's," Mikey told them.

"It's no good. The shield will not activate. We have no power, no force field, and they're headed this way." Razorfist and Stone Biter turned to Quarry then back at the entrance. The two were ready to fight against the other monsters.

"Uh... yeah, we kinda meet your force field," Raph told it.

"And then Raph kinda broke it," Mikey finished with Raph looking at him with an annoyed look.

More roaring took him out of it then Leo said, "What is out there?"

"The others," Quarry answered.

"Other what?" Leo asked.

"Test subjects. Like us, they endlessly prowl the tunnels."

"Why do you have to keep them out?" Leo asked. 'If there are more allies, then we can work together to help them.'

"Because they attack us." Quarry removed a control panel and started messing with the wires as they continued to talk to Leo. "They're violent, uncontrollable. Their minds have deteriorated."

"From the genetic mutation?"

"Yes."

Then, Leo had a terrifying thought come to him so he asked, "Then what about you three?"

Quarry stopped what they were doing then looked at Leo. "Madness looms in our future as well."

More roars prompted Quarry to get back to work, it took them a minute but they were able to bring the power back. Quarry looked at the crystal then said, "The crystal is completely burnt out. It is hopeless." The roaring was closer which prompted the turtles to get their weapons out. "Weapons will do no good without the forcefield, we won't stand a chance against them," Quarry told them as the turtles looked shocked. The roaring was closer than before and in the shadows, you could see the others coming for them.

"They'll be on us in minutes," Quarry told them.

"You know, you're kind of freaking me out here. Are you always such a naysayer?" Mikey asked.

Donna jumped on the device that was connected to the crystal and pulled it out but it went to dust in her hands. 'Okay, that was unexpected.' She looked at Quarry who approached her and she asked, "Is that what the crystals are... power sources?"

"Yes, that was our only one. When we found it in the catacombs, we paid dearly for it," Quarry told her.

Leo looked through Donna's bag and pulled out one of their crystals. "Well, what about one of ours?"

He walked over to Quarry and showed it to him. "They're too small and would not last."

Donna took the crystal from Leo and told them. "It only has to last until they give up." Donna put the crystal in the generator but nothing happened. She moved it slightly to see if it would work. "Come on." Razorfist, Stone Biter, and Raph ran forward to close the door to buy them more time. Meanwhile, Quarry was typing on the monitors there was still no change. "There is no spark."

Donna tried tapping the crystals together but there was still no change. "For some reason, it just won't power up. Maybe the connections to these contact nodes were charred." Donna theorized. Quarry removed a panel to take a deeper look at the wires. However, Mikey walked over to Leo and Donna said, "Or maybe you got the thing upside down."

"It's not upside down, Mikey?" The others were now at the door banging it with all their might. Razorfist, Stone Biter, and Raph were using their combined strength to keep the door closed. Donna fixed a cable then said, "Okay, let's try it again." By then, it was too late. The other experiments had entered the lab. Donna looked at Mikey then made a decision. 'Please let Mikey be right for once.' She flipped the crystal then put it into the generator. It powered up lighting up the machines around them. "It's working!" The shield started creating a shield that pushed the others back and out of the lab. The experiments tried destroying the shield but it didn't work while everyone inside the shield just watched.

"Don't think I didn't see that, Donna. It was upside down," Mikey bragged a bit. Donna didn't say anything but looked at her brother annoyed. Quarry watched as the crystal started to lose it's glow. "It's overloading."

The other experiments weren't stopping, some of their attacks increased. It took another two minutes for the other experiments to stop banging on the shield. "They're leaving," Quarry said as they watched them leave. If they stayed another minute or so, the shield would have been down. "But tomorrow they'll be back. They always come back," Quarry told them.

"Then you better have a bigger crystal," Leo told them after the one Donna put in lost its glow.

"We will not survive another journey to the forbidden zone," Quarry told them.

"What makes the place so forbidden?" Mikey asked.

"The ancient catacombs stretched for miles. We were forced to explore it. Many of us never returned."

"Uh... maybe they got lost. They were taken by a ghostly entity. There is never any sign of a struggle. They're just... gone," Quarry said with some fear in his voice.

"Look, I understand why you don't want to go down there but there aren't a lot of options. You need another crystal and fast," Leo told him.

"And since we... uh... we're the ones who kind of fried your security system. We'll go with yah, right guys."

"Absolutely."

"We're there."

Donna, Raph, and Leo stared at Mikey who had said nothing during that time. He smiled nervously and said, "You know the corner hardware has a sale on generators that would really get this force field humming. So, I'll just go up top and clip the coupon and..." Before Mikey could even leave, Raph grabbed his arm and dragged him out.

Donna leads the way with one of the crystals in her hand lighting the way forward. The turtles stayed in the front but Quarry, Stone Biter, and Razorfist stayed in the back. Razorfist and Stone Biter were terrified to move forward but Quarry told them, "Be brave."

"Okay, let's keep our wits about us," Leo told his siblings.

"Don't worry, Mikey. You can share my wits."

"Oh, so now I'm witless. Must be why I'm the only one bothered by the fact that we're heading into a place that even monsters are afraid of!" Mikey's voice echoed as the went down a spiraling staircase.

The turtles rolled roughly down a slide with all the turtles landing roughly on the ground. Donna was on her stomach with Leo's legs on her back and Mikey was on top of her. "Shortcut, in what mutated imagination can that be considered a..."

"Sorry," Quarry said as he and the others joined them from climbing the walls. "We forgot you can't scale rock."

"Let's try and avoid that mistake in the future, okay?" Raph told them.

Mikey sniffed the air then said, "Whoo, who cut the cheese?"

"You're smelling a sulfur pool, Mikey," Donna told him.

"Coming from a turtle who grew up in a sewer. Trust me when I say this place stinks."

"Coming from a turtle who not only grew up in a sewer AND has three brothers, trust me when I say that I have smelled worse," Donna told him.

"Hey!"

Before Mikey could say anything, Quarry said, "We must keep moving. The others wander down here. This is their territory." Carefully, everyone walked across the rocks avoiding the sulfur pool as best as they could. As they moved forward, a bubble came up from the pool and popped inf front of Leo and it was a strange blue creature. Without hesitation, Quarry snatched it with his tongue and ate the creature. "Ew..."

"Uh... we learn to either live off the land before it lives off us," Quarry told them. Leo looked at his sister but she just shrugged her shoulders.

Further in, Razorfist dug a hole deep through the rocks to make another path for the others to go through. However, Quarry, Razorfist, and Stone Biter climbed the walls leaving the turtles to carefully go through the touch thin path against the wall. Leo went out first and he nearly slipped into the whirlpool. "Leo, you okay?" Donna asked.

"Whoa, that was a little too lose for comfort," Leo commented as Donna came out and hugged the wall like Leo. "Watch your footing, guys." Leo comtined to move forward as Donna, Raph, and Mikey joined him. After a few minutes of hugging the wall, the turtles made it to a bridge where the others were waiting. They walked across the bridge carefully as they had to keep their balance. The turtles stopped when Quarry, Razorfist, and Stone Biter stopped and it was above a whirlpool. One by one Quarry, Razorfist, and Stone Biter jumped into the water with the turtles just watching in a bit of shock.

"Following monsters off a cliff may not be the smartest thing we've ever done," Leo commented then he, Donna, and Raph jumped into the whirlpool. "No, but it's the grossest. That thing looks like a giant toilet." They didn't answer him as they went down. "Which I guess makes me the tidy hole turtle." Mikey jumped off and shouted, "Cowabun..." Mikey fell down a waterfall and mostly just stayedin the water until he saw the spikey crystals. He tried to swim away but the current was too strong. "Current, too strong. I'm gonna get turtle skewered." Before Mikey could meet his painful fate, Stone Biter grabbed him by his head and got him out of the water, saving his life.

"Let go of his head, Stone Biter," Quarry told him and just like that Stone Biter obeyed.

"Do that again and I'll give you a real taste of the turtles, dude."

"How far away from the crystals are we?" Leo asked.

"They're here in the catacombs, but from this point on, we must keep very quiet," Quarry told them.

They continued their trek when Donna noticed the carvings. "Hey Mikey. Recongnize these carvings?"

"Whoa. These are just like the carvings in our lair."

"Yeah, same interior decorator," Raph commented.

Everyone but Mikey entered the tunnel when he noticed a sound above him.

Inside, everyone looked around for more crystals but Quarry quickly found one. "Good. This crystal will do. We needn't travel any deeper into this evil place.

Mikey continued to stare at the rocks above him until the ceiling popped open revealing one of the experiments from earlier. Mikey screamed in horror and shouted, "Hey, wait up! Guys, guys, GUYS!" Mikey run into the catacomb and warned everyone. "We got monsters right behind me!"

"Everyone, let's get to cover!" Leo shouted as he and the other turtles ran past Quarry, who was about to grab the crystal, Razorfist, and Stone Biter. "But that way leads to..." Quarry tried to warn but Leo said, "No choice, let's go!"

Razorfist punched the closed door as hard as he could but the door would budge. Stone Biter and Quarry also tried to open the door but to no avail. Not even Quarry's acid spit worked. 'If these crystals are like batteries then maybe one can open this door.' She stepped forward to a panel that could fit a crystal. "Stand back." She put the crystal in but nothing happened. "Come on, come on. Nevermind."

"Battle ready, boys and girl!" Leo said as he got his katanas out.

Donna was about to get her bō staff out but then an idea struck her. "You know, I wonder." She flipped the crystal and it started to glow. Donna did a small laugh in success. 'Okay, note to self, maybe Mikey isn't always wrong.' She thought to herself as the door opened. She ran inside and shouted, "Hey, it worked."

The turtles turned around and saw Donna inside but three glowing balls came flying at her. "What in the world?" Leo turned around only to see a bright light one minute then the next, Donna was gone.

"Donna!"

"No!"

"DONNA!"

"She's gone. And Splinter is gonna kill us," Mikey commented. More roars took them out of thoughts as more of the experiments came for them. "And in a couple of minutes, we'll be goners too."

"And here is ends," Quarry told them.

First off, I want to apologize for the late update. School has been crazy and I haven't found much motivation to write lately. Also, sometimes the episodes on Youtube disappear or I lose some progress which doesn't help either. Anyway, I'll try my best to update more when I can. A r\few reminders, I have a Tumblr account, username is Musiclover638 and a devianart account, username is iceninja6. If you have fanart of any of my stories, I would LOVE to see them. Thanks for reading, see Y'all next time. Bye :)
