A/N: I need help with the title (T-T)
"Why are you home so late?"
Yachi was shocked to hear the voice of her older brother, so she just stood there.
"Hello, earth to Hitoka?" Kentaro asked, this time a bit more intense.
"A-ah, Ken-? I was out with a friend, and it got too late and we didn't realize the time so he took me to get something to eat-" She quickly spit out.
Kentaro knew that his sister was almost constantly filled with anxiety when it came to intimidating tones and people. So he knew that she was telling the truth.
"Okay then."
"When did you get home-? I thought you were staying with Yahaba??- Wait?!? Did you guys fight?!? Or-"
'Just like her to overthink simple things," he chuckled a little, "No nothing like that. He got sick and I was going to stay the night but he insisted that I come home and make sure you were safe." He smiled.
"O-oh that was very thoughtful of him-" she started, as she was taking her stuff off and still slightly limping to the living room, 'right...'
"And the limp and bandage on your leg?!" He immediately stopped her and picked her up, like an overprotective brother would.
"I tripped over someone! I-it's nothing Ken!" While she absolutely hated lying to her older brother, she really didn't have a choice..
"Okay, fine but you need to stay off of it, okay?! Otherwise it's not going to get better!"
While his voice was harsh, Hitoka knew her brother was concerned for her. She was always viewed as soft and fragile, when all she really had was social anxiety and an extremely small panic disorder!
Her art was completely different, along with her at home style, and her reading material! She loved true crime podcasts and documentaries, she loved reading crime and horror books, not to mention horror movies, and her art style was mainly skulls, and dark art. The only person that knew was Kentaro.
Kentaro carried her to her room and set her down on her bed, "Okay, well you know what to do now. I'm going to bed, goodnight" He smiled and closed the door walking to his room.
"Goodnight!" She smiled back, and got dressed.
After she does her homework and heads off to bed where she lets her blankets engulf her in a hug of warmth, she falls asleep happily.
The next morning Hitoka wakes up completely refreshed, and happy.
She really hoped that today wouldn't be as bad as yesterday was. She really could handle having two days of bad luck.
She just wanted a nice easy going day, one wear no one snapped at her, and none of her bullies would see her.
She knew that luck probably wouldn't be on her side today.. but there was always hope!
After she got up from the warmth of her bed, she got ready for her day.
After a shower and getting ready for the day, she grabbed her bag and looked for her phone.
She couldn't find it! She slightly panicked, but calmed down thinking she might have left it on her desk at school or something.
She sighed and finished grabbing her things and walked into the living room.
"Morning Ken," she said to her older brother who was getting himself coffee.
"Morning Chi, how'd you sleep?" He asked with a sigh.
"I slept great actually! You?" She smiled from her spot in the living room.
"Meh, I was worried about Yahaba most of the night… but other than that yeah." He explained, and walked into the living room.
"You have a practice match coming up right?" He asked curiously.
"Um, I think so? I'm not entirely sure though." She said thinking about it.
"If you did, wouldn't the captain have told you? Oikawa-senpai tells us?" He said, looking suspiciously at Hitoka.
Hitoka giggled a little, "Wouldn't Oikawa-Senpai like to know you only call him Senpai here?" She teased her older brother.
Kentaro sighed and was a little impressed with how she switched subjects like that.
"Ha ha very funny…you wouldn't would you?" He asked a bit worried now.
She laughed a bit and shook her head, "No."
He sighed with relief but before he could finish she said, "not yet"
"I- don't change the topic!" He quickly said.
Hitoka didn't want to lie to her brother, but she also couldn't tell him what happened yesterday! I mean it was an accident!...right?
She shook off the bad thoughts and smiled at her brother, "your right, if we had a game someone would have said something."
Kentaro sighed, not really sure if he should believe her because of how long it took her to answer. But left it alone, because he wants to respect her privacy.
So he reluctantly nodded and grabbed his bag, "Alrighty then, let's go, we need to get to school." He sighed.
Hitoka nodded and got up while grabbing her bag and jacket.
She then grabbed her house keys and opened the door.
At school she calmed her nerves about going into the gym and put on a smile.
It wasn't a fake smile, but it also wasn't a real smile…
She willed herself to open the gym doors and smiled as everyone's eyes went towards her.
"Morning guys!" She smiled like normal, and like nothing happened.
Everyone including the couches looked shocked, "What's with the frowns?" She asked herself in a whisper.
She sighs a little, "What's wrong?" She asked curiously, a little worried now, because the frowns aren't like yesterday were they're mad…but like they're confused or something?
Throughout practice they apologized to her and asked her if she was okay.
She assured all of them that she really was okay, and that she wouldn't quit the club.
She was actually happy that they apologized and didn't mean what they said yesterday.
She also noticed that she was no longer limping, so that was a plus!
After practice she put her bullies homework in their lockers, and went to class, successfully dodging her bullies!
She went to homeroom and found her phone and sighed thankfully.
Things were looking up, for now… she wanted to believe that things were looking up, but she was still careful when walking in the halls, and up down the stairs.
She looked a bit weird walking, since she was being extremely careful. But who cares? She was just looking out for her future self.
During lunch she decided to not sit with the team but go to the library and get a couple books to keep herself entertained after homework.
While grabbing books her phone buzzed, so she opened her phone and smiled at the text…
???: Hey, this is Tsutomu Goshiki, from yesterday! I was wondering if you wanted to hangout after school today? We don't have to, but I think you're really interesting, and I hope we can be friends!
Yachi: Hello Goshiki! I would love to hangout after school! (After practice right?) I also find you interesting, and I would love to be friends with you!
Shiki: that's great! And yes I meant after practice see you after practice!!
Yachi: ttyl!
She smiled and put her phone away, happy that now she has something to look forward to after practice.
She grabs the books she has and quickly checks them out and puts them in her bag.
Then quickly walks to the lunch room for a quick lunch or just a simple snack depending on the time.
She makes it to the lunch room 10 minutes before lunch ends and decides on just a simple snack.
She grabs her snack and heads to the table.
"Yachi you okay? There's only 10 minutes left?" Suga asks worriedly as the rest of them look at her with worried and concerned faces.
"Yeah, I was just in the library." She smiles, "Sorry for worrying you guys!" She quickly adds.
"It's okay Hitoka-chan! Me, Ryū, and Enno are going out later after practice! Did you wanna come with us?" Kiyoko asks, smiling.
The first years jump in, "If not you could hang out with us! We're gonna study and then watch movies!" Hinata smiles and talks while the others nod and smile.
"Guys calm down," Suga says softly, "don't overwhelm her with options" Daichi adds.
"I appreciate it guys, but I already have plans with one of my friends sorry." She smiles apologetically.
She really didn't want to be a third wheel anyways, Kiyoko was dating Tanaka and Ennoshita. And Hinata, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, and Kagayama are always on a double date. Asahi and Noya are so close they're bound to be a couple soon. And Daichi and Suga had this weird 'Will they? Won't they?' thing going on. So it's best for her just to hang out with others for now.
"Oh-" Kiyoko said, slightly disappointed, "wait one from your class?" Hinata asked, tilting his head.
"Oh, no I don't think you guys know him." She thinks and shrugs, "Anyways we met yesterday and want to hangout more!" She smiled at them.
"Oh..well I hope everything goes well!" Kiyoko said, sounding a little disappointed.
"While I hope he treats you well.." Kagayama said, sighing.
"Uh, she's hanging out with a friend not going out on a date. Right Yacchan?" Tsukishima said, sounding more like a statement than a question.
Yachi nods a little and smiles.
A/N: I had this sitting in my drafts finished, and forgot to post it! (;;)
