The turtles were backing up against the wall near the Foor Lab. They were ready to fight the monsters that were cornering him.

Raph: Meet Stonebiter

Stonebiter roared loudly at them.

Razorfist

Razorfist growled at them.

And Quarry

Quarry growled and drooled acid from its mouth.

They may look like monsters but these poor souls were once ordinary people. Until the Shredder's mad scientist performed horrible genetic experiments on them.

The turtles watched in horror as a male human was transformed into a monster.

Experiments that will eventually leave them mindless.

A blue shield stopped many monsters like Stonebiter, Razorfist, and Quarry from entering the lab.

Like these other examples of Shredders handiwork.

A blue gem started to light up and power up a force field.

The only thing keeping Quarry and his pals safe is a crystal-powered force field.

The gem's light dispersed and once Donna picked up the gem, it turned to dust.

But now the crystal's all burnt out and the only place to get another one is the Forbidden Zone.

"Something unspeakable dwells there amidst the crystals. It is a forbidden place."

The turtles and the mutated humans climbed downstairs and trekked over an acid lake.

But we have no choice so we all head down there anyway and that's when all shell breaks loose.

As the turtles and the mutated humans were fighting enemies. Donna worked to get the door open and just seconds after she did, three balls of light came out and she disappeared.

"DONNA!"

Suddenly Donna's gone and I swear someone's gonna pay for taking our sister.

"DONNA! NO!" Raph shouted. Raph ran into the tunnel and continued to call out, " NO! DONNA! DONNA!"

"Raph, get away from there!" Leo ordered.

The aggressive mutated humans were coming closer to them and Raph noticed more balls of light. He ducked down and just before the mutated human could attack Leo, Mikey, and Quarry the balls of light made it disappear.

"Huh?"

A mutated human that resembled Quarry tackled Razorfist and before a battle ensued another ball of light appeared causing the two to disappear as well. "RAZORFIST!"

"Leo, what the shell is going on?"

Stonebiter walked to help the turtles but was tackled by a mutated human that resembled Razorfist. It tried to hit Stonebiter with its tail but Stonebiter dodged it. Quarry tried to help but was knocked away by the mutated human. Another ball of light caused Stonebiter to disappear. "STONEBITER! NO!"

"Come on, you ugly troll. Show me what you got," Mikey said as he was ready to fight with his nunchucks. The mutated human roared at him. "Okay, I'm impressed." The last mutated humans started to get closer to the trapped turtles and Quarry. "Okay, now what?"

Leo put his swords away and said, "Come on. Whatever's through this door can't be worse than this."

"I hope those don't become famous last words, Leo."

"QUARRY, GO!" Quarry ran as fast as he could with Raph and Leo following suit after removing the crystal which closed the door behind them. The other mutated humans continued to smash against the door in anger.

They turned around to see another tunnel with light coming from it. With no other options, the group continued forward. "Be ready for anything," Leo told them. Once inside, they stopped in shock. They all saw a city in a pit of lava. The city appeared to be okay and had no damage to it.

"We shouldn't be here," Quarry told them with fear in his voice. "This is... this is a necropolis. A city of the dead."

"You know if there's one thing that creeps me out more than monster movies. It's a city of the dead," Mikey told them, agreeing with Quarry.

"We're not leaving," Leo told them with a sternness to his voice. "Whatever's haunting this place has made the mistake of snatching one of ours."

"And we'll level this whole city, just to get her back," Raph said looking down at the city and then destroying a piece of the ground with his Sai.

Leo took some time to find a safer way down but once he did, he went back to the others, "Hey guys, I found a way down there." Leo gestured for the others to follow them.

"Don't you always?" Mikey said. Then everyone proceeded to follow Leo.

When they got down, they saw a mobile on a metal wire that seemed to be able to take them to the city. "Uh... maybe we better find us a different ride," Raph said not trusting the mobile in front of him.

"What are you talking about? It's fine," Leo told them as he lightly kicked the mobile then it tipped over slightly scaring him. "Okay, maybe not so fine."

A man wearing a dark green robe and grey outfit with one of the crystals stood at a door. He used one of the crystals to shine a light on the mutated humans then a door opened allowing them to enter. The man hid behind some rocks as they ran past him. 'Perfect.'

Meanwhile, Leo continued to try and convince the others that the mobile was safe. "Okay, look, see."

Leo carefully walked inside with Raph and Mikey worried for his safety. "Leo, don't," Raph told him.

"There's no way I'm getting in that thing," Mikey told him.

"It'll hold us." Leo walked further in and noticed a control panel with more crystals. "And it looks like our crystal will power it." Everyone turned in fear at the sound of the mutated humans roaring at them. Quarry, Mikey, and Raph ran onto the mobile with Leo.

"What are you waitin' for?" Raph shouted.

"GO GO GO!" Mikey told him.

Leo used the crystal and the door shut and the mobile moved closer to the city. However, the mutated humans jumped onto the mobile, denting the roof. The mutated humans then proceeded to destroy the roof to get Quarry and the turtles as the man watched then he threw balls of light, the same ones that were used to make Donna and the other mutated humans disappear.

The mobile started to shake then the wire holding it snapped causing the mobile with the turtles and Quarry to fall into the lava. "JUMP NOW!" The mobile went threw a stalagmite then the turtles and Quarry jumped out. They all landed on their feet but after Quarry landed one of the stalagmites started to crack and it fell onto Quarry. "QUARRY!"

Quarry used his acid breath to save himself then after using it once more, he jumped to the ground. He dusted himself off as the turtles looked at him confused and a bit shocked. "We are designed to handle such adversities."

The four continued to trek on. Leo looked at the wall and noticed something familiar about them. "Those same symbols again. Just like back at our place," Leo commented.

"And by the looks of it all. This city has been down here a very long time," Raph said noticing the look of the city.

"Creepy."

"Hey, guys." They all looked at Leo who was on an electric scooter-looking device. "I found some transportation."

"Of course," Mikey said sarcastically.

Leo powered it up and after finding more. The four proceed to fly through the city to find their sister. "Whoever build this place, definitely the same people who built our lair," Leo commented.

"Whatever. Let's just focus on finding Donna. We can go sightseeing later."

The man appeared once again then disappeared once he saw the turtles and Quarry coming but Leo already spotted him. "Hold up. I think I saw something." Leo proceeded into a building alone to find what he saw.

"Leo, wait up!" Mikey shouted as he and Raph along with Quarry came to the entrance that Leo entered. No response came. Now, Mikey was worried. "Uh, Leo?" Raph got off this transportation vehicle.

"I'm going in." A bright light made Raph close his eyes and turn away. "LEO!" Raph and Mikey ran inside to make sure that Leo was okay but he was gone. All that was left was his vehicle. "LEO! LEO!" Raph's voice echoed through the whole city.

Mikey had to stop Raph from running. He turned Raph to him and said, "Calling out like that is probably not the best idea. He's gone. Just like the others."

Raph closed his eyes knowing his brother was right. 'Donna, Stonebiter, Razorfist, Leo... they can't be.' The two walked out and saw that Quarry was also gone.

"Quarry!"

In the shadows, Quarry was hiding. He startled Raph and Mikey who screamed in fear. "Wait, it's just me."

"What are you doing looking around like that?!" Raph shouted annoyed and angry.

"Hiding. You... you left me alone."

Mikey turned around and then said, "Man... mutate some backbone."

"There it is." Mikey then screamed in fear.

Through some fog, a black shadow of a man could be seen. The man then walked off and Raph ran to get a better look at it. "That thing is mine." Raph got on his vehicle and sped off to fight the man. Once Raph disappeared, the same light that made the other disappear, appeared.

"Raph..." Mikey called out for his older brother but no response came. "Raphael... uh... we better go look for him." Mikey turned around and saw that Quarry was gone again. Mikey screamed in fear and then groaned. He reached his hand into the shadow and pulled Quarry out. The two got onto Mikey's vehicle and went after Raph.

Eventually, they found Raph's vehicle but not Raph himself. "Not good, Raph's gone too." Mikey got down and looked around for any clues when he turned around Quarry startled him again causing him to shriek in fear.

"I warned you. I warned you all. Evil dwells in this dead city. We'll never get out alive."

Mikey then slapped Quarry to snap him out of it. "Look, if there's going to be any hysterics around here, I'll have 'em." Mikey then froze in fear. "Like right now... 'cause I see it." Mikey pointed at the man standing on a pillar above them. Mikey got onto his vehicle and sped off. He then returned for Quarry and Mikey sped to the man as fast as he could.

"No... no... wait... WAITT! NO... NO... I can't." Quarry jumped down and Mikey's feet were no longer on his vehicle. Mikey missed the man and had to jump out of his own vehicle before it crashed into a pillar where it exploded. He rolled down and then slid on the ground landing on his shell. "I don't recommend that."

The man appeared once again with the balls of light. Quarry gasped in fear as the man began to swing the lights into the air. Quarry ran away in fear then the man threw the lights at Quarry then they wrapped around him and then he disappeared.

Quarry reappeared somewhere else but is soon surrounded by a clear tube. A liquid appears and envelopes him then it freezes him where he stands. The liquids disappeared and Quarry screamed in fear.

Now, Mikey was alone in the dead city. "Quarry. Man, how come I became the final turtle." Mikey stared at the biggest building in the city. "Okay, you I've seen before. In the freaky dream, I had."

Mikey looked back at the dream he had. He could see the same building that he is looking at now. Black smoke appeared and tried to consume him. Then he ran off in fear.

'Donna, Leo, and Raph along with the others are in there. I have to go save them.' Mikey ran off to the black building. "Creepy black tower, here I come."

It took Mikey a while but he ran inside the building to find his family and friends. Mikey turned a corner and screamed. He saw one of the mutated humans that he fought earlier. It was the spider monster. Mikey noticed that it wasn't moving then he touched it. It didn't move. Mikey looked around and saw the other mutated humans including Razorfist. "Razorfist?" He looked around and soon saw Stonebiter. "Oh no. Stonebiter."

'I can't believe that this is what happens when they get captured, question is, where are my brothers and sister?' Mikey thought to himself. He gasped. "Ah, Quarry." Mikey looked down and saw the same crystals. 'Maybe if I...' Mikey tried to remove the crystal but a voice stopped him. "No."

Mikey looked up and saw the same man from before. "Please, do not touch that. I am not finished with him." The man walked down the stairs as Mikey stared at him with suspicion.

'This guy gives all sorts of horror movie villain vibes.' Mikey thought to himself. "Yeah, you are." Mikey kicked the man down. He ran to him and turned him around and this time he didn't scream. The man was bald, had white skin, and had red-slitted eyes. "Okay, baldy. Where are my brothers and sister?"

"Mikey." He heard Leo say. He turned and saw Leo, Raph, and Donna. "About time you got here, we've been waiting for you."

"Huh?"

The others, along with the man walked to another room. "We had this guy figured all wrong," Leo told him.

"Yeah, he saw how the foot mutated Quarry and the others and he just wants to turn them back to normal," Donna told him as she, along with the others, sat down on some chairs.

"As we speak, the power of the caverns crystal moon is infusing them with regenerative energy. Their bodies are being genetically rebuilt inside each chrysalis. Within minutes, the last of them will be restored to their original human form.

"Thank you so much for clearing that up!" Mikey said then he whispered to Leo, "He's lying."

"Michelangelo, you're entirely safe. I assure you. This city was built by an ancient peace-loving race." The man turned on a screen and then said, "Of which I am the sole survivor." The turtles walked closer to the screen as the man continued. "We have lived within the Earth for many millennia. Spiritually bonded with it." The screen started to show green smoke. The smoke disappeared to reveal more people like the man on the same vehicles that the other rode earlier. "It was a symbiosis that had always sustained us. For we were unable to endure the harshness of the outside world." Green smoke appeared again to reveal six men standing around a small pool of water. "Then we detected life stirring on the surface. These new life forms fascinated us so we began studying them from an outpost. The same outpost that most recently became your home." Another image showed the turtle's lair looking much newer than it does now. "As the years passed, however, it soon became evident that our own time drawing to a close." One by one the men around the pool of water started to disappear.

"Yes, the Earth has cast its vote and our entire race face extinction." Soon, the people that were flying were also gone and the city looked empty. The video ended and the turtles looked back at the man. "They're all gone now."

Feeling sorry for the man, Donna walked closer to him and asked, "How long has it been?"

"Long enough to make this a very lonely existence," He responded to her. He led them down another path as he continued to speak. "Which is why I want to return those people back to normal. Only then can they help me repopulate the city."

The turtles looked at the man in silence then Leo said, "Well, I wouldn't count on that. They all have lives waiting for them on the surface, families, friends."

The man turned back at Leo and shouted in anger, "NO! They will stay. They must."

"Well, I'm sure they'll be grateful but..."

"I refuse to let this city die. There's so much to pass on. They must stay and so must you."

Donna looked at the man and then said to her brothers, "Uh, I'm afraid that being uh... all alone down here for so long has driven this guy slightly around the bend."

"We... um... appreciate the invitation to live here with you in this wonderous world of yours but..." Leo tried to say but when the man interrupted him.

"Yes. It is wondrous. A world where even mutant turtles can freely walk the streets. No more lurking in the sewers. No more hiding your faces. An entire city where you can finally be yourselves."

Donna then spoke up, trying to appease the man and reason with him. "As enticing as that sounds..."

"Let me put it this way..." Raph interrupted walking up to the man. "There's no way, we're relocating to this creepoid community. Understand? Now drop it."

Without another word to the man, Donna told her brothers, "Come on, boys. Let's go release the others."

"Ba-bye." Mikey waved at the man and then joined his siblings.

The man used his crystal and after it glowed it closed the door that the turtles were trying to go through. Leo stared at the man along with his siblings as they all got into a battle-ready position. "Trust me. You do not want to do this.," Leo told him.

The man was not having it. "No, heed my offer. For my bond with the Earth is strong." The man created a pillar of rocks to attack the turtles and shot it at them. They ran from it then ran up a wall then did a backflip to dodge the attack.

Donna threw her bö staff at the man but the man was faster. He summoned a large thick whip made of rocks to block the attack then it went after Donna and wrapped around her. "WHOA!"

Leo ran as fast as he could with his swords in his hands but a rock made him trip. After he slid into the wall the same rocks trapped him.

Raph tried to jump attack the man but the man proved to be faster as he used the rocks to drag Raph's arms and legs underground. "WHAT THE?"

Mikey tried to jump and attack the man but the man summoned spears to attack him. The spears made Mikey miss and he landed on the ground. "Whoa." He stood up wobbly but found his footing quickly. "You guys are a lot of help." The spears turned back to Mikey for another attack.

Donna rolled her eyes and then said, "Just get his amulet, Mikey. That's how he's controlling everything!"

Mikey ran from the spears as fast as he could. "Before or after he bludgeons me with those things," HE responded to Donna as jumped over a rock that was trapping her.

Leo answered Mikey as he climbed over him. "Preferably before."

The spears were gaining up on Mikey and he jumped over Raph and stood behind him waiting for the right moment. He then kicked one of the spears at the man, breaking his necklace with the crystal.

The crystal slid near a broken part of the wall and the spears fell to the ground.

The man and Mikey ran after the crystal and fought over it. The two went through the wall where the mutated humans were. Mikey was hurt from going through the wall but the man was fine as he picked up the crystal with no damage to him. Mikey looked around for anything to attack the man with and he saw the same balls of light used to capture the other mutated humans and his siblings.

Before the man could do anything to Mikey, he was already up with the balls of light. "Time to put you on ice." Mikey threw the balls of light at the man. It wrapped around him and made him disappear. He was soon frozen just like the others.

Once that was done, Mikey freed Leo and the others. Mikey helped Leo up as Raph dusted himself off. "Thanks, Mikey. You really stepped up."

After gathering the rest of their weapons, they went back to free the others. "Not one for the highlight reel though. I mean, the guy wasn't evil. Just lonely." Leo and Mikey stood in front of the man as Mikey continued. "And who could blame him."

Meanwhile, Donna and Raph left to find a way to free Quarry. "Okay, let's find something heavy and crack these puppies open," Raph said as Donna was observing the crystal.

"Raph, sometimes the most simple solution, is the easiest one. So, no blunt force is required. I believe this crystal is the release." Donna turned the crystal sideways. This cause a cloud of smoke to rise up and it began to break down the crystal containing Quarry.

"Quarry?" Leo asked then he along with Raph and Mikey covered their eyes.

"You're a girl!" Mikey said shocked.

The smoke disappeared revealing a blue-haired girl. "I'm back to normal?"

"Yeah, come on, turtles. Let's free the others and get them some clothes," Donna told them.

After Donna helped the mutated girls find clothes and Leo, Raph and Mikey found clothes for the boys. They decided to leave and go back to the surface. "Well, that's all of them." The humans were walking ahead of the turtles as they continued their conversation.

They froze in their tracks when they heard Quarry. "NO!"

They ran as fast as they could to see what happened. One of the humans was outside and it seemed as if his mutation had returned. He had human legs but a mutated half. The turtles pulled the man back into the city and he turned back to normal.

"He... he reverted back just as he stepped out of the cavern. Why?" Quarry asked.

Donna thought to herself for a moment then she remembered what the man said earlier 'As we speak, the power of the caverns crystal moon is infusing them with regenerative energy.'

Donna led them back to the city and looked up. "There, I think that's the cause." She pointed to a large crystal that was on top of the cavern. "Remember, he said it provides regenerative energy. Stray too far from it and it seems the effects reverse themselves."

"Then... we can't leave this city," Quarry said in shock. "I don't believe it. He got what he wanted after all."

Leo walked up to her and said trying to reassure her, "We'll figure this all out. Donna's pretty good.

She looked away and said, "No. We can't let you stay. Who knows how long it will take." The other humans nodded in agreement.

"But just taking off is not our style," Mikey told them.

"Please. You have your own lives to get back to. Believe me. If the solution is here, we'll find it."

"I'll keep studying the crystals. We can beat this," Donna told her.

"Then we'll be back," Leo told her.

"That's a promise," Raph told her, determined to keep his promise.

"Thank you."

It took some time, but the turtles went back the way they went to return home. It was silent the entire way. Mikey didn't even annoy Raph. They found the secret to their home and the crystals but felt like they failed the humans that they has to leave behind.

A noise took them out of their thought and they hid in a large sewer pipe. They watched in silence as the Foot ran past them with flashlights.

"Foot ninjas?" Leo said confused.

"What are they doing down here?" Raph asked.

Splinter came behind Mikey and turned him around. Mikey nearly screamed but Splinter covered his mouth. "Shh."

"What? I'm the only screamer. You have to cover just my mouth?" Mikey asked feeling slightly offended.

"Master Splinter, what is going on?" Leo asked Splinter.

Splinter shook his head as he answered, "I do not know but I believe the Foot are searching the sewers for us. They are everywhere."

"You've gotta be kidding me," Raph said.

"We cannot reach the lair undetected. We must find a new place to stay and fast."

Mikey thought to himself for a moment then he got an idea. "Hey, I know just the place."

Later on, the turtles knocked on April's door. She opened the door wearing a green face mask and an orange robe. "Hey, April. Ghoulish mud pack," Mikey said then he walked in.

"Mind if we bunk upstairs?" Leo asked following Mikey from behind.

"Hey, what's to eat?" Raph asked.

"Sorry for crashing in like this, April. We'll explain what happened and why we're here. Also, you have digital cable, right?"

Something glass broke causing April to flinch. "Sorry," Mikey shouted.

Splinter came in last but first, he said, "Miss O'Neil, your hospitality is very much appreciated." Then he walked inside. April said nothing. 'What happened to my life to get things like this to happen to me?'
