If you have seen this episode, which I am sure the majority of you have, then you know that this episode was dedicated to Jack Kirby. (If the last name is familiar, it is 2012 April's dad's first name, Kirby O'Neil.) Jacob Kurtzberg (a.k.a. Jack Kirby) was a legendary comic book artist, writer, and editor regarded by historians and fans as one of the major innovators and most influential creators in the comic book medium. He is the mutual idol of TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. He is behind many Marvel and DC characters that are extremely popular today. He is regarded by many as the "King of The Comics" especially Laird and Eastman, the creators of TMNT. Fun fact, the idea of TMNT came randomly to them. One of them drew a turtle with nunchucks on a napkin and they thought it was so funny, they drew more. So, Mikey is the "oldest" turtle. lol. I just wanted to share some info on the episode's dedication to Jack Kirby. He's been gone for many years now but like Stan Lee, he will forever be seen as a big influencer in the comic book/superhero world.
In this strange place, there is a purple sky, purple meteors shooting in different directions, tall mountains, and a destroyed purple moon in the sky. This definitely wasn't Earth.
You know, being a ninja turtle, I've seen a lot of crazy things in the past few years.
An army of strange creatures was coming toward Donna.
But this really takes the prize. At first, I thought I was dreaming.
The creatures looked like they were from another world. They stood on hindlegs, some looked like a green bigfoot, some looked like a chupacabra, and some looked like a cyborg. Donna got into a battle stance, ready to fight off the monsters herself.
Then I wished I was.
The monsters came at her, ready to fight. Donna used her bō staff to dodge an attack from a bigfoot monster. A maroon monster tried to attack Donna with its claws but she used her bō staff to block each attack. She hit the monster with her staff, knocking it back. She did a backflip to a pink rainbow-like bridge to a city.
But this was no dream. This was definitely a nightmare.
The rest of the monster came at her ready to attack and go to the city behind her.
It had been several days since the turtles and Splinter had hunkered down in April's apartment, and she was now understanding how Donna felt every day. It felt cramped in her one-bedroom apartment already and now it felt more cramped. Donna slept on the floor in her room while Spinter took the couch and the other turtles took the floor in the living room. She didn't have brothers or kids of her own, but having been with the turtles in the past days, she now felt like a mother of four.
"Look, we need to go back down there and flush those stinking foot ninjas out of our sewers and I mean flush." Raph punched a fist into his hand. 'They took our home and we need to take it back, no matter what it takes.'
"Raph, we don't even know what they're doing down there," Leo said trying to reason with his hot-headed brother.
April was sitting on the couch with her arms crossed trying to relax while Splinter was meditating and Donna and Mikey were eating some chips. The two youngest siblings were used to this kind of fighting from their brothers.
"I don't care!"
"You should!"
"My sons, you thwarted their many schemes and defeated their master. Clearly, they are searching for our Lair," Splinter said, trying to not only calm his sons down.
"I thought with the Shredder gone, we've seen the last of those bozos," Mikey commented. "Do you really think they could find our lair? I just got my room in the way I like it. And my famous ninja trading card collection is just lying out in the open, if they take that I'll... I'll..." Mikey started to worry about all of his possessions in the Lair until Donna was able to quarrel his fears.
"Relax, Mikey. Your big sister has got you covered. With all the techno camouflage and security devices I've installed, there's no way they'll find our place. Besides, I've got stuff in there too that I'm concerned about, like my stuffed fox, Rook. A few other things that I'd like to keep safe, little bro. Barbecue soy chip?" Donna offered to Mikey.
"Fire away, sis." Donna tossed a chip into her brother's mouth which he caught easily.
"Those ninjerks are keeping up from our home. We should be down there smackin' heads." While Raph was talking, April was trying to get a better look at the TV but she couldn't see it at all.
"Running into battle without knowledge or preparation is foolish. Sometimes it is best to sit still, the answers will come."
"Master Splinter's right. Besides our home is where we're all together as a family. That's what really matters."
April cleared her throat to get Raph's and Leo's attention. "You guys are more than welcome to stay with me for as long as you need to. Just as long as you don't stand in front of the TV."
Raph and Leo moved out of the way of the TV so she could watch her movie. "Sorry."
"Sorry, April." Leo and Raph smiled at her, hoping she would forgive them.
A doorbell rang, taking everyone by surprise. The turtles gasped, knowing that it couldn't be Casey since he would barge into the house without warning. "Oh, no. Who could that be?" April got up from the couch and walked toward the door. "You guys can't be seen. You'd better all..." She turned around and saw that everything in her home was back to normal as if no one else lived there besides her. 'Sometimes, I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified that they can do that.' If she looked above her, she would have seen Leo on the door frame.
"Chinese takeout, 14.95, lady." Raph was in the pink chandelier It was swinging back and forth, but it seemed stable.
April still didn't notice them and she was confused about the Chinese food. "But I didn't order any..." She paused in her thoughts knowing what happened.
Donna was behind a nightstand, feeling guilty about the food she and Mikey ordered. 'I told Mikey that we shouldn't have ordered it and we should have told April that we ordered food.'
Unfortunately for Donna, April did see her, knowing what happened. She said unenthusiastically, "Oh, of course, I did. I'll get my purse." April walked away to get her purse leaving the takeout guy alone. He looked around and saw Mikey on the chair. He gasped silently to himself. He closed his eyes and shook his head, thinking what he saw wasn't real. When he opened them, a purple teddy bear was on the chair. He was about to walk in to see if he was crazy but April was quick to stop him. "Thanks. Thank you so much, bye-bye now." The delivery man stood shocked as April closed the door on him.
Once the man was gone, April turned around and slumped against the door. When she looked up, the turtles and Splinter were back in their same spots as if they never left. "Wow. You guys are good."
"It's our job," Leo said as he bowed respectfully to her.
"We're ninja," Donna told her.
"Yeah, check out my ninja stealth action." Mikey grabbed the bag of chips that he and Donna were eating and every so often, he would cover his face with it. "Now you see me. Now you don't. Now you see me. Now you don't."
Donna took the bag of chips from Mikey and told him, "Give me that, Houdini. You've been hogging the nachos all afternoon."
April walked over to the two with the food. "Your order, I presume."
"He/She did it."
"May I have the privilege of getting you anything else, my lord and lady?"
"No thanks. And sorry April."
"We're fine. Thanks." Mikey took the food from April, set it on the floor, and got some of the boxes out. He handed one to Donna and kept one for himself. "One from column A, one from column B." The two began to eat the food as if nothing was wrong. Mikey didn't use the given chopsticks but Donna did, occasionally.
April watched to two eat and sighed. "I feel like I went from happily single to mother of four overnight."
"Tell me about it."
Raph yawned and did a big stretch. "Well, I'm hitting the showers." Later on, Donna was sitting at the kitchen table working on a device she made. She had her goggles on to prevent herself from going blind from the electrical pulses she sent into the device. She was fairly focused on her device but she could hear Raph singing in the shower.
Raph was singing to himself in the shower when all of a sudden, the hot water went out. "Whoa!" He opened the door, he was wrapped in a towel and his gear was off. "Yo, Donna? Can you do something about the hot water? Turtle can't even get a decent shower in this joint."
"Been there, done that. Besides, I'm working on something."
He walked over to his sister and said, "Well, go there and do it again."
"Why is it always me?" She took off her goggles and put them on her forehead then asked, "Why don't you ask Mikey to fix something once in a while?"
She looked over to Mikey who was sitting on the chair eating a bag of chips with one of his legs on the armrest. They looked at him for a minute then he asked, "What?"
She sighed annoyed. 'The things I do for my brothers.' She took her goggles off completely and got up from the table. "Never mind. I'll go fix the water heater, again."
She began to walk out to go to the basement while April told her, "I really appreciate it, Dee."
"No problem."
"But keep an eye out for Kirby. You know the guy I lease the basement apartment to. I don't need you scaring my new tenant."
"Don't worry, April. I'm a ninja. Piece of cake."
"There's cake. I love cake."
After explaining to Mikey that the cake isn't real. She made her way to the basement. 'Okay, fix the hot water, then go back upstairs, and try not to be seen by Kirby. Easy.'
Donna walked down the stairs and tried to find a light so she could see. "I know there's a light around here somewhere." She found the string and turned on the light. She heard a screeching sound from around the corner. "What's that?" A blue creature with wings came flying at her. "Ahh!" She grabbed her staff and did a backflip to dodge the creature. the creature came at her again so she jumped on it to dodge it again. 'What is this thing? Looks like a monster from Mikey's comics or a horror movie.'
She hit it with her bō staff when it came at her again then it fled around the corner. "What was that thing?" She carefully looked around the corner but the creature was gone. As if it never existed. "I could have sworn it went this way." She looked around and saw a light coming from a room down the hall. 'That must be Kirby's room. Did the creature come from there? Anyway, guess I should fix the hot water before Raph throws a fit.'
She walked down the hall to fix the water and saw Kirby sitting at a desk. "That must be Kirby, April's new tenant. Wonder what he's doing?" She stood behind the door, watching him.
Meanwhile, Kirby, none the wiser, was drawing a small robotic creature in his sketchbook. The creature came to life as it flew out of the sketchbook. Donna opened the door, amazed by what she saw. "Whoa! How'd he do that?" The robotic drawing flew out the door but after a few seconds, it disappeared.
At this point, after being fascinated by his drawing coming to life, Kirby noticed Donna standing in his doorway. "Huh? A green monster? I don't remember drawing you." He sweatdropped, coming to a horrible realization. He got out of his chair and stuttered, "You must... you must be here for your crystal. Look, pal, I was only borrowing it for a while, just put the stick down."
Donna had walked further into the room at this point but put her hands up in surrender to calm him down. "Slow down, friend. I know I must look weird to you, but I'm not here to hurt you." She put her bō staff away. "My name is Donatella and I don't know anything about any crystal." Donna continued to keep her hands up to show that she meant no harm to the human in front of her. She walked closer to him, curious about the crystal he had on his pencil. "But what I really want to know is how you just did what you did."
Kirby saw a curious look on Donna's face. He relaxed now knowing he wasn't in any danger. "It wasn't really me. I mean, I can draw, sure, I've been doing it for years, but it's this crystal." Donna got a closer look at it as Kirby continued to talk. "It supplies the magic."
Donna put her hand on her head, upset that she has to deal with crystals again. "Crystals. It had to be crystals."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing. It's just that I've had my fair share of magic crystals lately."
Kirby then got an idea. "You should really try this. Here, let me find you a clean page." Kirby directed Donna to his desk and searched for a clean page in his sketchbook.
Donna then noticed something. "Hey, doesn't my appearance freak you out a little?"
"Little lady, since my sketches started leaping off the page I've seen freakier, believe me. By the way, my friends call me Kirby." Kirby set down his journal and held out his hand for Donna to shake.
Donna shook it. "You can call me, Donna. You're also one of the first humans I've met that could tell that I was a girl."
"Heh, trust me. I thought you were a guy at first but getting a better look at you, you're definitely a girl."
Donna laughed at that. "So, where did you get that crystal, Kirby?"
"I found it in a pile of coal of all places. And accidentally discovered what it could do." He held the pencil closer to Donna and said, "Here, draw something."
Donna was hesitant to draw something but at the same time, she was excited at the prospect of scientific discovery. "This is too good to pass up." She grabbed the pencil and Kirby gestured for her to sit down. "Man, I wonder if there's some sort of biomolecular energy transfer involved."
"Donna, just draw something."
She chuckled a bit. "Okay, but I'm afraid a stick person is the best I can do."
"Ah, don't worry. It takes a few years of practice before you can really have fun." He told her trying to encourage her. Once Donna was done, he said, "Not a bad stick guy, though."
"There. Finished." Once Donna removed the pencil from the paper the stick person came to life. "Whoa!" It jumped over them and onto the bed then to his dresser and kicked a spray paint can toward them. "Wow! This is too wild."
"Told ya."
The stick person ran toward Donna and started kicking her right shin. "OW!" Then it kicked her left shin. "OW! Hey, now, cut that out!" Donna got her bō staff out and was about to attack her drawing but it suddenly disappeared. "It just... disappeared."
"They all do. Everything I draw comes to life and then they just vanish. One exception though. A thing I drew a couple of weeks ago." He walked over to a large object that was covered with a cloth. "It didn't go away." He unveiled the object and reveal a large door with swirling turquoise, blue, and purple lights. "I can't rightly tell you what it is."
Donna walked closer to the door. "Huh, Looks like a weird kind of doorway." Donna put her hand into the door and it disappeared briefly. "Incredible."
Concerned for his new friend, Kirby said, "Hey, be careful." Without warning, Donna walked into the door, disappearing from Kirby's eyes. Scared and worried for his friend, he shouted, "Donna. Donna! Can ya hear me?!"
Donna came out of the portal door, scared Kirby. "Kirby, you've gotta see what's on the other side of this thing!"
At first, Kirby was nervous but his curiosity took over. "What the heck?" He put his pencil on his ear and grabbed his sketchbook. "Let me just grab my sketchbook." He ran into the portal with Donna while shouting, "GERONIMO!"
Kirby fell from the sky into another dimension. Donna caught him with ease. "Gotcha." She gently set him down and then said, "That last step's a doozy, huh?"
"Good catch, Donna. Thanks."
"No prob, Kirby. One question though, what is this place?"
The two took the chance to look around. While the grass was green like on Earth, the sky was a different story. It was dark purple with light purple clouds and some black streaks across the sky. A city with a purple bridge that seem to float in the sky was seen in the distance. Everything in this dimension seemed so different from Earth. The sun wasn't yellow, it was a mixture of yellow and brown. Planets were in the sky and there seemed to be multiple moons in the sky, it's like a comic book come to life.
"It's like some sort of alternate reality. A different dimension. It's... it's incredible!"
"And it all looks familiar," Kirby commented as he continued to look around. "Too familiar."
"What do you mean?" Donna asked wondering where her friend could have seen this new dimension.
"Look." Kirby opened his journal and showed Donna his drawings. It showed the exact same dimension that they were in. "I drew it." On another page, he showed her a robot standing on its hind legs, with sharp claws, and fangs. "I drew it all." He flipped the page and showed a rock monster he drew.
"Kirby, check out that weirdo." Donna pointed to a green monster with a beard, red eyes, and a club in his hand. 'It looks like one of those monsters out of your notebook."
Kirby compared the monster to his drawing and Donna was right. It looked like his drawing. "It is. I remember drawing that one."
Donna then noticed something odd. "It's ignoring us."
"Come on."
The duo ran off to follow the monster and what they saw shocked them. Some of the monsters were running to the city in the sky. "Looks like someone's in store for a monster-sized beatdown.
"Brace yourselves!" A warrior told his fellow warriors. Each wore a superhero costume and had a weapon or shield. One was an African-American with blue boots, red underwear, with a blue shirt covering his arms and legs. His mask was blue and it covered his eyes with a red part that resembled wings. He carried with him a red and blue shield.
A Caucasian man in the middle, who seemed to be the leader had black and gold boots with armor covering his arms and chest, he also wore a kilt or a skirt. He carried two spears and had long red hair and a beard.
The next man was an African-American with a red book and a red costume. His arms were exposed and he had wide red shoulder plates and his mask was red and gold with horns. It appeared the man had no weapon and he wore gloves.
The last warrior was Caucasian with brown books and his outfit covered his chest, he had one silver shoulder pad, brown gloves, and he had blue hair. He carried a hammer and each warrior looked ready to defend their home.
"Those creatures are gonna rip those guys apart."
The warrior with the hammer hit several of the monsters but one tackled him to the ground. The warrior with long blond hair and a red mask with horns tackled the monster to save his friend.
The warrior with the shield blocked an attack from one of the monsters and then kicked him away. He ran off to fight more but a monster punched him square in the face. The man moved back from the monster attacking him.
The man with red hair was struggling against one of the monsters with a beard. The man was able to break away from the attack but no matter how you looked at it. The Warriors were losing. "You shall not pass!" The warrior threw the hammer at one of the monsters which lit up the area around them. The attack did little to help, the attack only knock out one monster. Each warrior was knocked out and the monsters were victorious. The monsters roared in victory and began to continue their attack on the city.
"We gotta do something," Kirby told Donna.
Donna took out her bō staff from her back. "Stay here. I'm on it." Donna ran down twirling her bō staff ready to fight and help the warriors.
"Coming through!" The warriors looked up and saw Donna. She swung her bō staff and each monster fell down. "How's that for girl power?"
Each monster tried to attack Donna but she was able to bring down each one with ease.
The warriors stood up after recovering themselves. Their leader asked, "What new strange creature is this?"
Donna attacked each creature taking down each one with her bō staff. "Charge!" She looked to the sides of her and saw the other warriors joining her, shouting as they ran past her.
'Okay, now this is getting good,' Donna thought to herself. Donna joined them in their shouting. Together, Donna and the warriors were able to fight off the monsters and the rest ran off knowing they lost.
Kirby ran down once the fight was over to congratulate his friend. "I came, I saw, I kicked monster butt! HA! Now that's what I call girl power!"
"Wow, Donna. You've got some moves. I've never seen anything like that... except maybe in the comics."
Donna laughed knowing her friend was right, and she's read a few of Mikey's comics without him knowing.
The warriors approached the duo to talk to them. "Hail to you, strangers."
Donna turned around and blushed at the sight of the warriors. Sure, she had fought off purple dragons and fought alongside Casey but she had never seen men with big muscles and was two feet taller than her but she didn't know whether to be embarrassed or something else. "Um... hi... I mean. Hail."
"You are welcome here." The leader told them. He continued to talk to them about what the situation was. "We few are all that stand against the darkness. The creatures which you helped up defeat. We owe you our gratitude, young warrior, but we must prepare. They will return."
"They can bring it on. I was just getting warmed up."
"They will be back in greater numbers. More than we can possibly defend against when they come in force. We may lose the bridge and with it our city." The man looked back at the village, the children who played on the street, the families playing in the park, everything in their city was so peaceful and they can't afford to lose. "I cannot bear to think of the dark powers destroying our wondrous city, our loved ones, our families. Those monsters, they will destroy everything."
Donna looked at them determined to help them. "We won't let that happen."
Kirby, with a determined look on his face, said, "We'll do whatever we can to stop them. Sire, here they come!" Donna and Kirby turned around and saw the monsters coming in greater numbers. "Thousands of them!"
The monster army was larger than they have ever seen before. "We must defend the entrance to the bridge. Even if it cost us our lives."
'Man, if my brothers were here then the fight might be a bit easier but they aren't. It's just me, Kirby, and these warriors. I can do this. I can be the one who helps save these people.' Donna took out her bō, twirled it in her arms, and was ready to join in the fight. "Let's do it!"
The warriors came at them in full force ready to take over the city. "Man, Kirby, you draw all of those?"
Embarrassed, Kirby said, "Yeah, I have a habit of drawing a lot."
"Did you have to be so prolific?" Couldn't you've drawn less or maybe some more friendly guys?"
As Donna and Kirby were talking, the monsters were coming at them at full speed. "Heck, how was I supposed to know they'd all come alive and attack us?"
The monsters were gaining closer to them. "We must not let them across the bridge!" The leader looked at Donna and two nodded. Donna led the warriors into battle and Kirby went to a safe spot for himself.
With a new resolve, the warriors were fighting against the monsters with ease and Donna was using his bō staff to hit monsters and she used it to jump-kick the monsters.
The leader combined his duel weapons into a staff like Donna's to block an attack from one of the monsters.
Kirby started to look through his notebook and he saw all the different warriors that he drew. He saw each one of them come to life fighting against the monsters he drew to defend the city that he drew. He was amazed by the things that he drew. 'It's like a comic come to life! It's incredible.'
Donna dodged an attack from one monster, used her bō staff to attack another, blocked an attack with her staff, then kicked another one away. One attacked her from behind, she flew through the air crashing on the ground in front of Kirby.
Donna groaned as she went to her knees and rubbed the back of her neck and head. 'Man, these monsters are relentless.'
"Don, you okay?" Kirby asked concerned for his friend.
"Well, I could use a little help." Donna held out her hand and Kirby grabbed it to help her up. Three monsters charged toward the two and Donna knew she was stuck in a rut. "There are too many of them."
Donna jumped back into battle and Kirby thought to himself how to help Donna and the warriors. "Hey, I've got an idea." Using the pencil he brought, he started to draw Donna out in his sketchbook. 'Come on, Kirby, you can do this.'
Donna returned to the warriors' side to fight against the monsters but she didn't know how long they could last in this fight. Donna blocked an attack from one of the monsters and then pushed it away with her bō staff. One approached her from behind and she kicked it away before it attacked her.
"It just might work." Kirby continued to draw Donna then once he had the base drawing done, he started to draw a weapon for her.
Donna continued to fight the monsters using all of her ninja skills and her bō staff. She used her bō staff to defeat each monster that tried to attack her. Two more monsters tried to attack her and Donna was ready for them. Kirby finished his drawing, he created a gun for Donna to use in battle. "What?" The gun magically appeared on Donna's right hand. "What the shell?"
"I call it a gravity equalizer. It cancels the gravity equation." Kirby laughed at himself. "I just made it up."
"I like it. Thanks, Kirby." Donna put her bō staff away and prepared herself to use the gravity equalizer. The monsters came closer to her then Donna fired the gravity equalizer at them. Each monster went up to the air and they were able to come down. "Ha!" Donna smiled at the gravity equalizer Kirby made for her. 'This is awesome. Imagine the scientific capabilities of this device!'
More monsters came to attack her but Donna was prepared. "Eat negative gravity, you losers!" Donna fired the gravity equalizer at the monsters and they were quickly defeated.
Two monsters were fighting against the warrior with the red and blue shield. She fired the gravity equalizer at them and they floated into the air.
She blew on the weapon since it was emitting smoke. "The gravity equalizer, don't leave home without it." Another monster charged at her, she tried to fire the gravity equalizer at him but it shorted out. "Uh oh. That doesn't sound good." The monster got closer to her so she dodged the oncoming attack then she used the gravity equalizer to knock the monster out. "It makes a good club anyway."
Donna looked around her and saw the monsters fighting the warriors and more coming from her left and right. "They're still coming, Kirby. Lots of them. Do something!"
"And a size reference for scale, finish it up with a few details, and... voila." A large yellow mech with large hind legs, sharp fangs, and long arms appeared out of thin air.
"WHOA! Unbelievable! So, what do you call this one?" The monsters tried to attack the mech but nothing could move or dent the mech.
"It's kind of a mobile creep trapper. It's supposed to respond to my brainwaves. See?" With just a thought, Kirby used his brainwaves to move the mech's arms to pick up two monsters and drop them into the mech's mouth.
"Looks like it's time to commence with operation cleanup." Donna tossed the gravity equalizer aside and watched Kirby pick up the monsters one by one. "All right, Kirby, you do your thing, I'll do mine." Donna jumped off the mech then landed on the arm then landed on the heads of two monsters then kicked another one down.
"The creatures have broken through, we must stop them!" The creatures started to go up the bridge ready to attack the city.
"Hey! Get back here you creepy creeps, unless you're afraid of losing to a girl!" Three monsters turned around and ran to Donna. They tackled her to the ground. The other warriors followed suit, each losing to the monsters.
"It's no good. There's too many of them!" Donna was trying her best to keep the creatures back but was struggling to fight them off.
"What to do? What to do? Wait!" Kirby flipped through his sketchbook to find what he was looking for. "Yes, yes, I have it!"
The monsters were getting closer to the city and a child was frozen in fear at the sight of them. Their mother came, picked them up, and ran as fast as she could to save her child.
The monsters entered the city and the woman tripped. Kirby tried to draw as fast as he could to save his friend and the city. 'Come on, Kirby! You can do it!' The woman and child closed their eyes in fear. Just before they killed them, shackles, bronze braces, and more appeared around the monsters, stopping them in their tracks.
Donna stood up, free from the monster's grip. She looked around and saw all of the monsters trapped in every way she could think of.
"Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!"
The leader walked to Kirby to thank him. "Thank you, Mighty Sorcerer. You are welcome in our land and our homes anything."
"Gee, thanks!"
Kirby walked down the ladder and Donna joined him once he was down. "Kirby, my friend, you are the king. How did you do that?"
"As fast as I could." He showed Donna his sketchbook and through the various drawings, he showed the different monsters trapped in shackles, blocks of concrete, and bronze braces.
The duo laughed. "Come on, we should go home. As cool as this place is, I need to go home to my brothers, father, and friends." Donna and Kirby started to leave to return home.
"Yeah, I guess. You're right. Though I gotta say, I'd really wish we had more time to explore this place. I mean it's incredible."
"Hey, we can do that another day. I can even bring my brothers." Donna put her arm around Kirby and asked, "How about some chow? I'm starving."
Kirby put his arm around Donna and then said, "As long as you're buying." A sound took them out of their thoughts. The portal was moving and it slowly started to shrink.
"The portal!" Donna shouted.
"It's shrinking!" Donna and Kirby ran to the portal. They stopped in front of the portal together. It wasn't big enough for them to enter it together. "Donna, you go first."
"But..."
"Don't argue! There's no time! Just go!"
"Okay, once I'm in, I'll pull you through it." Donna jumped through the portal but struggled to come out as it was getting smaller and smaller the second. "No! I'm stuck!"
"Hang on, Donna!" Kirby pushed Donna's feet through the portal and Donna managed to come out but when she turned around to help her friend but the portal was too small to pull Kirby through. "KIRBY NO!!" A few tears escaped from Donna's eyes. She didn't have many human friends but Kirby was fun and the world they were in was amazing. They didn't even question her being a girl. Kirby was fun and he had amazing drawings. A paper airplane landed in front of her. 'What's this? Did... did Kirby send this before the portal disappeared?'
She picked up the airplane and opened it. It showed a drawing of her with the gravity equalizer and a note. She briefly read it and sighed sadly. She looked at his drawing table and his various drawings. 'Kirby... thanks.'
After a while, Donna came up from the basement with the note in her belt. Raph noticed that his sister was taking a while to fix the water and return up the stairs so he went down to check on her.
"So what's the skinny? You've been gone for ages. We got hot water or what?" Raph put his hand on Donna's shoulder. Instead of answering her brother, she just glared at him. She walked back into April's apartment without a word. "Sheesh, what's eating her?"
Donna walked to a window and set her bō staff aside. she looked out the window and then read Kirby's note.
'Donna, Life at best is bittersweet. Take care of yourself - Kirby.'
She looked out the window without another word. She just stared at the moon contemplating Kirby's note.
Fun fact about this episode, there are two endings to it. One is this ending and the other is Donna sitting in the basement after reading his note. I went with this ending and I liked this one better. Thanks for reading! See Y'all next time. :)
