Chapter 15
Inside Yokai Academy's nursery, Tsukune was sitting next to the bed on which his girlfriend was sleeping. Her body had some bandages around the arms and plasters too after getting hurt by Kuyou's flames two days ago, but thankfully, she didn't risk to die.
Following the death of the corrupted fox monster in fact, the young human explained what happened during the battle, confirming that he had indeed killed two safety enforcers and wounded Kuyou too. Nekonome and the other teachers were astonished that a kind guy did such things, and while understanding the reasons behind them, they told him and his friends that they had to talk with the principal, especially him.
Understanding why, he didn't oppose their decision and he made helping Mizore immediately as his first priority, fearing to lose her after she didn't open her eyes. From what the nurse told him, the heat she suffered from Kuyou's flames was unbearable for her body, which sweated so much as if it was melting due to her yukionna nature.
She was able to save her and cure her wounds, which weren't too deep, though she was still out of senses. Which made her love refuse to leave her side like at the moment, with his sad eyes looking constantly at her.
'I'm so sorry I didn't protect you. Please, wake up.' , he thought, taking her right hand in his and shedding some tear. Even if she protected him, Kurumu and Moka, he couldn't accept that she got hurt because of it. When he saw her like that, an intense rage along murderous intentions towards the bastard took him over, making him desire to kill him.
Inner Moka was surprised too by how much he wanted Kuyou dead, but as she told him, she liked how he wasn't against killing enemies anymore. She saw it as the sign that they thought in the same way, even if her outer personality was still peaceful instead.
Besides, the fact that he killed two corrupted enforcers and contributed to kill their chief made him look different to other students' eyes: while some of them were kinda fearful of him, others admired him and were happy that he and his clubmates freed them from that regime of terror, wondering also about his monster form.
Of course, they didn't know and would never find out that he was a human, as he suspected that there could be still some evil yokais inside the academy. Yokais that wouldn't hesitate to kill a human being like him just for fun.
Even his friends didn't get unnoticed, as Ginei had some girls that liked him now for fighting against that corrupted commission while Moka and Kurumu's popularity increased between the boys. They didn't know about the vampire's real personality fortunately, because she would scowl at them or worse.
Anyways, while he was staying by Mizore's side, the young man heard the nursery's door opening and saw Nekonome-sensei entering. "Good morning, Aono-kun. She didn't wake up yet?", she asked him sadly.
"Good morning, Sensei. The nurse assured me that she's out of danger, but she's still out of senses.", he replied, lowering his gaze apologetically.
"Don't be angry with yourself. She protected you and the others from that cruel Kuyou-kun, especially she loves you very much."
"I-I'm so sorry for killing those students. I disappointed you."
Shaking her head, she placed a hand on his head to give him a little headpat. "You explained us your reasons and I don't think anything bad of you now. Ever since you started your first year, you've be been respectful of everyone and you care a lot for your friends. I may not like that you killed somebody, but I don't hate you for this."
Those comforting words along her gesture made his eyes widen, smiling in relief. He feared that she would see him as murderer after what he did, still it wasn't that case and he was happy for that.
"The principal talked about it with Akashiya-san and the others earlier, so he would talk with you in some hours. But don't worry, I don't think he wants to expel you nya.", she said, smiling and still caressing his head.
"Thank you for telling me that, Sensei. You're the best.", he told her, smiling at her. His expression caused her giggle, happy that she wss able to make him smile; since she cared deeply about all her students, making them smile in hard times was always the first thing to do in her opinion.
And after assuring him again, she greeted him and left the room, with him still thankful for having her as his homeroom teacher: she was like a second mother for him. Speaking of mothers, he wasn't going to tell anything to his own and his dad, terrorized by the idea of being seen as a demon from them.
'Dad, Mom, forgive me.', he thought, smiling sadly before he felt someone moving. His eyes looked instantly at his girlfriend, widening when she began to wake up and she met them with her crystal ones.
"T-Tsukune?"
Unable to stop his tears, he instantly enveloped in a hug, bringing her face to his chest and surprising her. "T-thank goodness you woke up. I was so worried for you."
Such gesture made her blush and smile, reciprocating the hug and adoring his warmth. It wasn't painful like the one of the flames that hurt her: it comforted her and was full of his love and his care for her.
"I'm sorry for making you so worried. How did it end with that cruel monster?"
"Me and the others managed to kill him for good, but we had to explain what happened to the teachers. The principal talked with everyone except for me.", he replied, continuing to hug her.
"I see. I'm glad that we got rid of that Kuyou; I wouldn't have been able to live without you if he had killed you.", she said, tightening her hold.
"I can't live without you either, Mizore. I told you, didn't I? You, Moka, Kurumu, Ginei-senpai are all important people for me, so I don't want to lose anyone of you."
The yukionna blushed more and was glad to hear those words, as she absolutely adored how caring he was towards those dear to him. She even moaned when he took her lips into a kiss, giggling internally and kissing him back instantly.
The taste of his lips along his tongue dancing with hers were so amazing that she cupped his face and continued to kiss him in french style for some minutes. Her joy was also due to seeing him without any wound, as she didn't want to let that bastard fox hurt him at all.
Her boyfriend had still some scars on the back after getting harmed by one of those lizardmen, so she promised herself to impede anyone to hurt him again. She wouldn't forgive them at all.
The two of them continued to kiss passionately for some minutes, with her moaning because of how good it felt. She wasn't embarrassed of doing that at school because she adored giving love to him and receiving it back.
"Wow, you two are incredible!"
That sudden male voice made them stop, so they looked at the door and saw Ginei with some bandages on the head and his arms while he grinned. "You and your girlfriend are so passionate, buddy.", he said, causing Tsukune to blush while Mizore pouted.
"Did you really have to ruin our moment, peeping tom?"
"Hey, I stopped doing that. Almost.", was his retort, scratching the back of his head while his kouhais frowed in disappointment.
"Anyways, I wanted to check on you two. You stayed at her side all the time, refusing to go back to the dorms.", he said, making Tsukune blush while Mizore giggled. She also leaned her head on his chest, liking the sound of his fast heartbeats.
"I can't help but fall always more for you, Tsukune.", she told him sweetly, causing him to smile happily.
"Man, you sure are lucky to have a girlfriend that likes you so much. Oh well, I will go to hit on some gal now that I'm more popular. See you!", exclaimed the werewolf, leaving the room immediately with a perverted drive.
The young human chuckled awkwardly in front of Ginei's behavior while Mizore found it gross. Anyways, she continued to stick on his chest, adoring her lover's comforting warmth.
"The principal said that he wants to talk with me too by the way. I don't know what he wants to tell me, but I'm sure he doesn't want to reprimad for those I killed."
"You told me once that he was the one to suggest your parents to enroll you here, so he knows that you're human. I'm certain that he will understand that you killed those bastards for your sake.", she said, kissing him on the cheek and still clinging onto him.
Her words made him smile once again; not only he was extremely happy that she finally woke up, but she continued to cheer him up as she always did since their first meeting. The strength of her feelings for him was both incredible and beautiful, as it matched his own intense love towards her.
He also got in her bed and cuddled with her under the blankets, surprising her and making her redder. Giggling, she snuggled more in his pectorals, losing herself in his scent and his warmth while he surrounded her body with his arms.
Perhaps he wasn't very muscular, but his arms hugging her gave her a feeling of safety and affection that only him was able to give her. If she got hugged by another man, she would rather freeze him instead of letting him touch her because everything of her belonged exclusively to her Tsukune.
She also noticed that he started to fall asleep while still hugging her, which made her smile; staying by her side all the time because he was worried for her may have tiring, so she didn't mind sleeping again at all if it was together with him. Besides, his sleeping peaceful face was too handsome to her eyes.
'I'd never get tired of cuddling with you. You were scared that I was about to die, but there's no way you will lose me. We will always be together, my beloved husband.', she thought, kissing his face again and making him smile. She also closed her eyes to sleep too, and if someone entered in the room, he would be flabbergasted before how much affectionate the couple was.
The couple slept together like that for at least 3 hours, after which, Nekonome came back to the nursery and smiled at the sight. Since the principal had to talk with Tsukune though, she woke him up calmly to not disturb the yukionna, causing him to blush to be seen cuddling with his girlfriend.
"I will come back very soon.", he quietly told his beloved, kissing her forehead and liking her blissful smile. Once he did that, he left the room with their homeroom teacher to go towards the principal's office, noticing how most of the students looked at him.
They all gazed at him with smiles or some sort of anxiety, except for the girls that blushed instead. He guessed that killing the chief of those bastards of enfocers made his popularity skyrocketed, but it also caused some students to fear him due to knowing about his kills.
"Rest assured, Aono-kun. By talking with some of them, I found out that you and the newspaper's club are heroes for most of the students because you freed them from th commission's tyranny. I honestly feel ashamed that I didn't anything to stop their cruelty nya."
"It's not your fault, Sensei. Kuyou and his lackeys lied to you and masked their evil actions as something good to your eyes. You always cared for all of us and especially for Mizore while she didn't come to school, so I'm glad to have you as homeroom teacher.", he said, smiling.
His speech made her blush and also giggle, further understanding why the yukionna was so much in love with him; it was because of his great kindness and care for those he was affectionate to, which didn't disappear despite the terrible things he and his friends went through. Maybe he ended up killing more than one person, but she understood that he didn't like doing it because it was just to protect himself and his friends.
She guided him towards the office for some minutes, with him ignoring the looks of all the students on him. Finally, they arrived in front of the office, and after she assured him that he was going to be fine, he knocked on the door and heard a male voice telling to come in.
Opening it calmly, the young human widened his eyes at seeing the office decorated like a typical one in the human world, even if the person sitting at the desk was far from normal. The principal was a man dressed like a priest or some sort of exorcist, whose hoodie didn't let see his eyes very well.
"Oh, Tsukune-kun. I was waiting for you.", he said, smiling.
"G-good morning, Principal."
"Relax, young man. Here, take a seat."
Seeing a chair in front of the desk, the boy listened to him and sat there, surprised by how calm the weird man was. "Did you summon me here to talk about what happened, right?"
"You go right to the point, huh? Yes, I talked about it with your club members, and honestly, I thank you all."
"T-thank us?"
"You and your friends put an end to the corrupted and despicable actions of Kuyou and his lackeys, which were done out of pure malignancy rather to preserve order and education. I'm not disappointed that you killed 2 people and contributed to kill Kuyou: you had to protect yourself and your friends, after all.", explained that sort of exorcist, shocking him way more.
"You see, I convinced your parents at that time to enroll you here because as you know well, this school wants to teach monsters to get along with humans. You managed to make friends with various yokais and even fell in love with one, so I'm proud of you."
Those sentences made him widen his eyes again: he always thought that his enrollment at Yokai Academy was a mistake, but he didn't guess that the man in front of him did it out of that specific reasons. "Someone like you that wants to have a quiet life and gets along with everyone is a better person of all those safety enforcers. After Kuyou died, I expelled all his remaining lackeys. I was a fool to trust people like them."
"It's not your fault. Ginei-senpai told me how they always made sure to hide their wicked and devious actions, so don't blame yourself, Principal."
"Heh, Nekonome and other teachers were right about you: you're really the kindest student here at the academy. There is also another reason I called you here: I wanted to ask you if you're willing to help me to keep the school safe, Tsukune."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I'm not sure that Kuyou and his underlings were the only evil yokais inside here, as I suspect that there could be others too. What I'm asking you is basically to keep an eye on the students sometimes and intervene with your friends to stop any evil action of theirs."
Upon receiving such further explanation, the brown haired boy was more surprised; to think that he was asking him, a mere human, to do something like that was truly astonishing. Though, considering the fact he managed to get rid of two yokais with the help of Mizore and his friends, it was also undestandable.
"So you want me to stop any other monster to cause harm, right?"
"Yes, you're the most qualified person for that because your heart is pure like your kindness. I'm fully certain that you won't fall to petty desires like power and supremacy like it happened to that dead fox. Of course, you don't need to give me an answer immediately; take all the time you need, my boy.", said the principal, keeping to smile at him.
That made Tsukune sigh in relief and thank him for telling him that, getting told then that he could leave to go back to his lovely girlfriend. Such teasing made him blush while the exorcist chuckled, finding funny how flustered he got at the mere mention of the yukionna.
So the brown haired guy left the office and told his teacher how the talk went, avoiding to tell her about being asked to become a sort of the school's defender; she had been too worried for him and the others after that deadly battle, so he wanted her to relax somehow. Hearing that the talk went fine made her giggle and she accompanied back to the nursery.
"Did everything go well, Tsukune?", asked him the yukionna, intertwining her hands with his when he sat next to her bed.
"Yeah, I explained what brought us to fight against that commission and he didn't scold me at all."
"Hehe, as a teacher, I'm very happy to have you as my students. Since Shirayuki-san is not well and wants your company, you can stay with her, Aono-kun. I'm sure Akashiya-san will take notes for you."
He smiled at listening to her and thanked her, sweatdropping also because he knew that she didn't trust Kurumu to do that; she was kinda lazy during lessons. After telling him that, the cat woman greeted the couple and left the room, with Mizore looking at him with a pleading look.
Blushing and smiling, he understood what she wanted and took off his shoes to get inside her bed again, so she didn't hesitate to snuggle into his chest. "You really can't stay without clinging onto me, huh?"
"Your warmth is so nice and comforting that I can't get tired of it hehe. After all, I love you more than anything.", she told him, blushing and liking his smell.
"I was terrorized when you lost consciousness after the battle, because If I lost you, I wouldn't be able to stand it. I know I said many times, but I really don't want to lose anyone dear to me here. Especially you.", he said, tightening his hold on her and making her blush more as result.
"Being loved this much by you makes me overjoyed. You accepted me as your friend and reciprocated my feelings for you, arriving to tell me about your secret because you trust me. I promise you that I will be forever with you, Tsukune.", she told him, letting some tears fall from her closed eyes.
They met each other through their loneliness and got along well since they first met, falling in love more and more. He also got rid of his pacifism and took two lives to protect her, the others and himself, convinced by her words that he wasn't a murderer.
The orc, the mermaids and other yokais were nothing if compared to the members of that dead commission, as Kuyou and his underlings were sick bastards that had fun with tormenting innocent students. The fact that there could be other creatures like them worried him, but as he told the principal, he and his friends would try to stop their possible actions.
'Maybe having powers and strength beyond human limits corrupts most yokais, but I'm done with trying to make them reason. I got myself and other people hurt because I didn't want to fight, so from now on that way of living ends permanently.', he thought, looking at the cellar with serious eyes while still hugging Mizore.
It seemed that his mind was on the same thought wave of Inner Moka's, which wasn't wrong in his opinion. While he managed to befriend some yokais like Kurumu, the mermaids and Ginei, others were so evil in their hearts that making friends with them was impossible.
Besides, after that damned fox hurt his girlfriend, a huge murderous intent took him over and he desired nothing if not Kuyou's death at all costs. Mizore was everything for him and he loved her way too much, so any enemy that would harm her or worse was going to pay.
Perhaps that was way too drastic as way of thinking, still, he was done with being the one that forgave everyone. If killing wicked monsters was necessary to keep himself and everyone safe, then he would do it without any hesitation. Without any.
A/N
And chapter 15 is here, buddies! Phew, it looks like Mizore is out of death danger thankfully, as she woke up after being out of senses for more than a day. Tsukune was obviously glad that he didn't lose her, and now that it's known about his kills, some students fear him while others admire him for freeing them from the safety commission.
Also, the principal asked him to protect the school to defend from other possible wicked yokais, but he didn't accept right away because he needs time to think about it of course. For the moment, he wants to stay close to Mizore until her wounds completely heal, but a thing is certain: his hesitation to kill is completely dead now.
His pacifism doesn't exist anymore, so any other monster that will try to attack him and his friends won't be forgiven, especially if they harm his beloved. Will he accept the task that the principal gave him? What more will happen? Stay tuned to find out.
See ya!
