Hello friends and welcome to part 4 of Random Kaiju Battles. Today we finally fight between two actual kaiju.
The stage is a broken and destroyed city, with towering buildings on fire and ruptured streets filling the area.
Megaguirus emerges from the first portal, shrilling viciously and zipping quickly into the air and out of sight.
And the second portal is the one that Varan exits out of. Gliding seamlessly out of the portal, and into the destroyed city.
The triphibian kaiju scoured the battlefield. They were sensing an adversary that wasn't visible to the naked eye. Or at least- not yet.
Varan continued to glide when something zipped behind him. Making the kaiju look back, and see- nothing?
While Varan was distracted, Megaguirus appeared before him and attempted to bash him from the front. It was an effort that was both rewarded and punished as it did work, but Varan's weight and momentum, and her sudden attack made it so BOTH kaiju were pushed away. Megaguirus slammed into a tall building and Varan crashed into the city below.
Moments would pass and Varan would slowly get up. Shaking himself from both the shock of the sudden impacts and the light damage they caused. Now Varan stood upright on the ground. Looking around for the seemingly invisible adversary.
Suddenly Megaguirus appeared in front of Varan, several hundred meters away. Varan turned his head and snarled, finally getting a good look at his opponent. And man was she ugly.
Megaguirus giving another shriek would dash forward. Varan gave his own roar and began charging forward on all fours.
When they met it was Varan who made the first move. Sending a clawed swipe her way, which was swiftly dodged by the Meganulon queen. Varan would process that for a few moments before dashing forward again. Swiping with his other hand this time. This was also dodged with ease.
He'd try attacking a third time, this time with his spines. He'd jump at Megaguirus and roll into a ball, aiming to smash into her and cut her with his spines.
Megaguirus seemingly VANISHED and Varan smashed into the building behind her.
The Bug reappeared a ways behind the triphibian and smirked slightly. He was too slow.
Varan broke through the building he had smashed into, making rubble rain down across their part of the city. He'd roar and break out into a sprint. Aiming to attack Megaguirus once again.
This time, however, it was the mutant's turn.
When Varan got close enough and tried to attack again Megaguirus dashed backward to evade and immediately smashed into Varan in a counterattack. Using her raw speed to make Varan topple over.
Varan let out a roar of surprise and pain as he fell down, causing an explosion of dust. But Megaguirus wasn't done. She'd zip down and attempt to grab Varan with her pincers. Stabbing the sharp gripping appendages into varans thick hide, and though she couldn't pierce it, she was able to drag Varan. Moving at her signature fast speeds through the city and smashing the Kaiju into several buildings.
Megaguirus would suddenly let go in the middle of her onslaught and fly up, letting Varan smash into one more building which collapsed onto him.
It seemed Megaguirus had one, and she'd let out something of a shrieky cackle from her hideous jaws.
But just when she began turning away, Varan burst forth from the rubble, roaring in anger. Not a single scratch on him.
Megaguirus was intelligent, and as such- immediately felt shock. And then anger. And then wariness. This monster was a bit more durable than she thought.
The battle continued. With Varan attempting to attack Megaguirus, and Megaguirus dodging and countering with ease. Sometimes Varan broke into a glide mid-combo and tried to attack like this but he could not hope to overcome the speed gap between them.
Eventually, Varan began to tire, and his attacks began to weaken. Megaguirus saw this as an opportunity and with another earsplitting shriek, she barreled into Varan forcing him onto the ground and stabbing at him with her stinger. She would absorb her energy and leave his dried husk of a corpse for her new swarm to eat.
But that was just it . . . her stinger stopped moving at Varan's hide. She looked down to see that her stinger- did not go any further than his surface flesh. She could not pierce his armored back.
Megaguirus realized her error a bit too late, however, as Varan immediately took advantage. Using his long and capable tail and knocking her over. Sending her tumbling down in front of him.
Megaguirus began flapping her wings, trying to get away and into the sky but it was all for naught. The heavier kaiju came down upon her, pinning her beneath his claws and crushing her body into the concrete.
Varan began glowing at the mouth now, charging up a new attack that Megaguirus, despite all her best efforts could not get away from.
And then came the pain.
Varan unleashed a sonic beam into Megaguirus's skull. Rupturing the insides of her head and causing her to shriek in agony.
He didn't let up the attack and eventually her skull simply . . . gave out. Exploding from the pressure and the power of the beam.
Varan was covered in bug juice, but it didn't bother him. He simply roared his victory that day to the world.
Varan Wins: Mid-High Difficulty
Reasons:
Going by what we see in the unleashed games, Varan is not only a skilled combatant but also possesses a special beam. It's unknown what this beam can do exactly but I can make an educated guess.
Megaguirus is much less durable than varan, and it's debatable if her stinger can pierce his hide. Unless she stings the inside of his mouth she won't be able to drain/ recover energy or replicate his attack.
Even if the power of Varan's beam attack is debatable, Megaguirus is kind of frail anyway so she probably could be killed by his claws or teeth or spines if he had her pinned.
