Feel the Beat

OR…Patty and Loki both love music and de-stress with it. Random songs which I will totally identify at the end.

Gosh darn it I guess this is a song fic! Never thought I would write one personally but here we are!

The 20th installment is coming, prepare yourselves!

Please review, suggest and comment! (Maybe even read some of my other stuff?)

Marvel and Disney own all!

Remember, they can't all be winners…

"JUST A YOUNG GUN, WITH A QUICK FUSE."

Loki blinked at the loud sound and looked around the corner. Patty was flailing, no, dancing he realized.

"I WAS UPTIGHT, WANNA LET LOOSE. "

Loki remembered doing the same thing when he was younger, until he had been caught and mocked by Thor for it one too many times. Now he had learned to control it, but it was nonetheless still there.

Patty noticed him and yanked out her earbuds.

"Oh, Hi Mr. Loki!" She said. "Have you ever heard this song? It's the greatest!"

Without further ado she disconnected her buds and blasted it, singing along even louder than she had been before.

"I WAS DREAMING, OF BIGGER THINGS AND / WANNA LEAVE MY OLD LIFE BEHIND."

She paused the song. "This next part makes me think of you!"

"NOT A YES SIR, NOT A FOLLOWER / FIT THE BOX, FIT THE MOLD, HAVE A SEAT / IN THE FOYER, TAKE A NUMBER / I WAS LIGHTNING, BEFORE THE THUNDER (thunder)."

The next hour was spent with Patty teaching Loki the words. By the end of that time he could sing along to "Thunder" with the best of them.

Normally, Loki would not have been caught dead listening to mortal music. But with Patty it was different. Besides, her music was extremely catchy.

Occasionally Patty would call in the middle of the night saying something like "Hi Mr. Loki I know it's late but have you heard this one?"

Then she'd take a deep breath and sing. "(high high hopes)…HAD TO HAVE HIGH HIGH HOPES FOR A LIVING / SHOOTING FOR THE STARS WHEN I COULDN'T MAKE A KILLING / DIDN'T HAVE A DIME, BUT I ALWAYS HAD A VISION / ALWAYS HAD HIGH HIGH HOPES…(high high hopes)…"

And then she'd sing the whole song, and teach it to him.

Once they were simply walking the streets of the city and Patty had said "BABY I DON'T NEED DOLLAR BILLS TO HAVE FUN TONIGHT!"

She had looked at him expectantly and had positively deflated when he'd said that was the first time he'd heard that song.

But ever afterward when she'd shout out that lyric he'd finish (quietly) with "I love cheap thrills!"

Loki knew all the "golden oldies" as Patty called them, (Thor had a fondness for ancient Midgardian pop music).

He'd sometimes just whisper to her a few lines of a song to see if she could place them.

"It's been three years I've done my time."

"And I have to know what is or isn't mine." Patty sighed. "C'mon, Mr. Loki, everyone knows that one."

Once Stark had caught them whispering like that.

"Hey, you two, what're you talking about?"

"SIMPLY PLOTTING YOUR MURDER STARK."

Toni Stark had backed away, despite Patty's protests that they were seriously only throwing song lyrics at each other.

Yep. That's all I got. Just a nothing to pass the time. I know it's crap.

Here are the songs!

"Thunder" Imagine Dragons

"High Hopes" Panic! At the Disco

"Cheap Thrills" Sia ft. Sean Paul

"Tie a Yellow Ribbon (Round the Ole Oak Tree)" by Tony Orlando and Dawn
