The next morning Carrie awoke to the smell of french toast and eggs coming from the kitchen, so she got out of bed changed into a black and red t-shirt with a picture of the 'Hex Girls' on it and black jeans before putting her hair into it's usual side-ponytail then headed for the kitchen where the monsters were making breakfast for themselves as well as Carrie, however, this time the young girl made sure to stay out of sight just so she could observe her four captors as they talked about what they wanted to do to help Carrie feel more comfortable in their home. "We could listen to Carrie's music with her." Mummy suggested as he set the table for the five of them, this made Carrie wonder why the monsters wanted to get to know her so badly since no one at her school back in L. A. wanted to, and her own father barely knew anything about his own daughter since he worked on writing his books so much, and her maid Helga was the only one who knew Carrie better than anyone.

"Perhaps we could take Carrie into town instead." Big Ed spoke up as he made the food, his friends looked at him like he was crazy. "That's a no-go, Mon." Wolf-Mon replied while getting the cups for milk, Big Ed looked a little disappointed that his idea had been shot down once he realized that Carrie might take off. "We'll think of something, but for now we all need to eat." Dr. Davenport said to his friends, and Carrie, that was all she needed to awkwardly walk into the kitchen as the other sat down with her. "Hungry?" Mummy asked as Carrie avoided everyone's gazes, she nodded before Wolf-Mon gave her a plate with french toast, and eggs on it then began to eat as did the others. "What should we do today?" Wolf-Mon asked Carrie with a hopeful smile, she merely shrugged in reply since Carrie honestly didn't know what to do with the monsters as being kidnapped wasn't suppose to happen during the trip. "We could have our own mini party." Big Ed told Carrie as tilted her head, Dr. Davenport wasn't sure that a party is what's needed to help Carrie open up to him and his friends, but the others didn't want to give up. "Maybe." Carrie responded softly, hearing Carrie respond to their idea was a good start. "We shall see." Dr. Davenport added on, his friends were looking at Carrie as hope filled their eyes. "After breakfast, we'll start setting up!" Wolf-Mon cheered excitedly as he, Big Ed, and Mummy chowed down on their food.

Once the table had been cleared away, Big Ed, Mummy and Wolf-Mon went to the living room which was big enough for a small party as Carrie noted, then moved the furniture into the corners of the room before getting out some speakers where Carrie could hook up her Cd player too, in order for the music to be heard throughout the mountain. "This'll be fun." Mummy said with a smile, the other agreed with him as Carrie began setting up the music for the random party. "Are you sure you wish for this to happen?" Dr. Davenport asked Carrie, he watched her work on the music. "They want it to happen." Carrie replied to him, the young girl realized that maybe if she gave the monsters a chance, then they might let her go. "We have tons of room now!" Wolf-Mon called out happily, he, Big Ed, and Mummy were just waiting for Carrie to finish hooking up her Cd player with their speakers, so the music could flow out nicely. "Patience gentlemen." Dr. Davenport replied for Carrie, she finished hooking up her Cd player to the speakers before turning them on, if only so Carrie could find a song that everyone would like as well as dance too. "What're we going to listen too?" Big Ed asked in wonder, he really hoped that the song would be up-beat and catchy like the one from yesterday had been, and that's when Carrie found the perfect song to play for the mini party since it was one of her favorite non Hex Girls songs.

[Play Kick it into Gear by Jennifer Paige]

[Carrie]

Sometimes you just got to kick it into gear

(Music)

When your grip keeps slippin' and your clutch is gone

(Music)

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh you're tried spinning your wheels on

Your brains front lawn.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh well keep your asphalt

Under sunny side up

A gas credit card and a giant coffee cup

The rest of your life is gonna find you here

Get up on the highway and kick it into gear.

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

That's the only way you're gonna get on out of here

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

Sometimes you just got to kick it into gear.

(Music)

Had some money for a turbo drive

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh well it ain't the destination

It's the ride, ride, ride ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Put the heavy to the metal and grab onto the road.

I hear your motor runnin', it's about to explode

Still be waitin' this time next year

Head on down the highway and kick it into gear.

Kick it into gear, kick into gear

That's the only way you're gonna get on out of here

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

Sometimes you just to kick it into gear.

(Music)

Woo!

(Music)

Oh, yeah!

(Music)

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

That's the only way you're gonna get on out of here

Kick it into gear, kick into gear

So if you want to yeah.

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

That's the only way you're gonna get on out of here

Kick it into gear, kick it into gear

(Music)

Sometimes you just got to kick it into gear.

(Belle rings)

By the end of the song, Wolf-Mon, Big Ed, Mummy and even though you couldn't see his face, Dr. Davenport's mouths were all stuck in a jaw-dropped expression. "Was I that bad?" Carrie asked them in worry, her voice snapped the monsters out of their shock before they applauded her. "That was awesome, girl!" Wolf-Mon said with a smile, his friends nodded in agreement with him as Carrie blushed a little. "Thank you." Carrie replied with a shy smile, it was the first time that the four monsters had seen her smile, and got them wondering if they've made some progress with Carrie. "What other songs do you have?" Big Ed asked in wonder, more music started to play from the speakers as the five danced to Carrie's music since it was different, but more fun than the music the monsters had heard centuries ago. "I love this type of music!" Mummy told his friends happily as they all danced together.

As the morning turned into afternoon, Carrie and the monsters took a break to have lunch. "That was a fun party." Wolf-Mon said as he took a sip of water, all the dancing had left the five of them out of breath which is why they were drinking water with their lunch. "I didn't think I would actually dance, but I did." Dr. Davenport added with a sigh, he wasn't much of a dancer, but the music was catchy enough that it made him start to dance with his friends. "I can't remember the last time we had this much fun." Big Ed chimed in as Mummy agreed with him, Carrie was watching as the monster happily chatted about their mini party, and realized that maybe just maybe they weren't so bad after all. "But I still need to know why they'd kidnapped me." Carrie thought to herself, she decided to save that question for later since the monsters were in a good mood, and she didn't want to ruin the day for the four of them with her pestering them for answers.

After lunch, Dr. Davenport went into his lab to do some experiments while Carrie and the remaining for monsters went back to their rooms. "Now what should I do?" Carrie asked herself, she then remembered that she had some of father's books with her, so reading was the activity for the rest of the afternoon, and even though the monsters seemed different from their book/movie counter parts the stories still reminded Carrie to keep her guard up in case Dr. Davenport tried to use her for his experiments or in case Big Ed, Wolf-Mon or Mummy lost control of themselves and attacked her. "I still have to be very careful." Carrie murmured lightly, then she began to wonder if what happened to the monsters in their origin stories actually happened to her four captors in reality which was something else that Carrie wanted to ask them about, but she then decided to save the question for later along with her other questions about where the other monsters were at. "I'll find out soon." Carrie said as she continued to read, hopefully Carrie would get the answers to her many questions very soon.

New chapter done! I know it's short. but I like it. I don't own the song in this chapter as it's from The Country Bears movie from 2001.

Please read and review, but no flames!
