"What do you think we're doing here, Plagg?" Adrien asked, as he knocked on Master Fu's door. "Adrien, the Master is good and wise. Whatever it is, he has a reason."
The door cracked open and Master Fu peeked his head out. "Adrien, glad you could make it. Come on in." Despite his curiosity, Adrien felt calm as he sat down on the rug. He could smell the smoky aroma of tea and the sweet scent of cookies. "Here you are, you must eat to keep up your strength."
"Thank you," Adrien took the mug, carefully blowing on the hot liquid. "But you didn't invite me here for a tea party, did you, Master?" Master Fu laughed. "Very good, Adrien. Here."
Adrien frowned at a package of markers. "Um, I'm not following. Am I doing an art project?" "Yes, but not any kind of art project. I want you to draw who you think Ladybug is, or who you want her to be."
Adrien's cookie suddenly became dry is his mouth. The cookie was good, but not as good as Princess's. "I can already tell you have the girl in mind," Fu smiled. "What about Ladybug? Did she get a set of markers?" "She was in earlier, and with her Kwami's fondness for sweets, I had to make a new batch off cookies." "So, I draw who I think she, and give you back the paper?" Fu nodded.
Adrien was halfway home when he stopped and looked longingly in the direction of the bakery. He and Marinette usually colored together. I'll give myself an hour, he thought.
When Cat entered the bakery, a fresh syrupy smell floated from the back kitchen. Marinette suddenly came through the swinging door, carrying the plate of cookies. "Kitty!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing here? And are those markers?" "Want to color together, Princess?"
Instead of answering, Marinette walked over, and gave him a tight hug. "You okay?" "Yeah, I just really need someone to talk to. Bring your markers upstairs and I'll bring the cookies."
Cat scribbled away as he listened, giving advice when needed. "Hey, is that me?" she asked, looking down at Cat's drawing. "Yes, but its for a secret assignment." "Your not normally mysterious, Cat." "What's mysterious, Princess, is what you put in these cookies that make them taste so good."
Marinette giggled, gently wiping crumbs away on his face. "That's easy: Love." Cat stared at her, then at his cookie. "Love?" "Yep. Cat, can I tell you a secret?" "I'm all ears," Cat grinned, giving one his soft triangular ears a little flap. "If I were Ladybug, I wouldn't want anyone but you as my partner."
Me too, Princess, me too.
Adrien dropped off his drawing a few days later. "Your in a good mood, Adrien. Just look at those rosy red cheeks." "I'm picking up Marinette for a date. I just need to go the flower shop to pick some roses. She's a sweet girl, my every day Ladybug."
As Adrien left, Master Fu smiled. "She is your Ladybug, and your her Cat Noir. You may not know for awhile, but you two are soulmates. Take care of each other."
