A year ago, my first big fanfiction was released onto this site. The first part of my Amphibia OC Insert.
Look where I am now. Sure, I am not the most popular writer on this site. I'm far from it. But hey, I never came here to be popular. I came to see what people thought of my writing, and to improve. Well, I think I improved a lot, and still improving to this day.
Thank you to everyone who has favorited, followed, and reviewed my fanfictions. It was the support that I've gained over the past year that got me to where I am now.
Without further ado, time to begin the fourth and final part to my Amphibia OC Insert. Enjoy.
Previously…
Andrias swatted his hand towards Sasha and Catherine. Sasha managed to dodge, but
Catherine wasn't so lucky. She was sent flying out of the room. Grime hit Andrias in the ankle
with Barrel's hammer, but it didn't provide the same effect as last time. Andrias simply swatted
Grime away like a bug. Sasha charged towards Andrias, just for him to swing his tail and send
her flying against the wall. He then ran to get the box back.
By then, Anne and the Plantars have already walked through the portal. Their heads were
sticking out, though. Matt and Aaron were almost at the portal when they saw Andrias coming.
"Marcy, hurry!" Matt shouted.
"I just need to..." Marcy was about to reply.
That's when she felt a pain go into her back and out of her chest. She looked down to see the
edge of a fiery blade coming out of her chest. Andrias stabbed her.
"Now look what you made me do," Andrias muttered, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"MARCY!" Matt and Anne shouted in fear.
"I'm sorry, for everything," Marcy apologized.
She let go of the box with one hand in order to push Matt and Aaron through the portal.
"NOOOOO!" Matt shouted as he and Aaron fell through the portal.
Marcy collapsed and dropped the box. As it fell to the floor, a flash of light emerged from the
gems. When the light faded, Anne, Matt, Aaron, and the Plantars were gone.
Old Places, New Faces
Chapter 1
Where am I?
Matthew Ellis woke up on a grassy field in the middle of nowhere. He stood up, looking around.
"Where am I?" he asked himself. "What happened?"
As if to answer him, all memories of everything Matt went through in the last day came back to him.
Sasha's betrayal and the duel against her.
Andrias' betrayal and the castle lifting into the sky.
Marcy's betrayal and death.
Matt fell onto the ground, tears in his eyes. So much happened, all at once. Now, he had no one with him.
Or at least, he did have ONE with him.
Matt felt something touch his shoulder. When he opened his eyes, his frog boyfriend, Aaron Ro'Meave, was there.
"Matt, are you okay?" he asked.
Matt hugged Aaron and cried on his shoulders.
Once Matt finished letting it all out, he stood back up. Aaron stood up too. They looked around.
All they could see was a bunch of grass, and some animals. There were some phone lines in the area.
"What is this place?" Aaron asked.
"I have no idea," Matt replied.
Matt checked his phone to see if he had any service. His phone went from zero bars to one bar.
Matt started to feel hopeful that he was home. He knew what he had to do first.
Matt went to his calling app. He dialed his dad's phone number, hoping it hadn't changed since he's been gone. Once he finished dialing the number, he hesitated. Even if it did work, even if his dad did answer, what would Matt say? That he's been trapped in a world full of anthropomorphic amphibians for five months? After a few seconds, Matt hit the call button. He put the phone to his ear, and waited for an answer.
In LA, Matt's family were in the Boonchuy house while Anne Boonchuy explained everything.
"Where was I?" she asked when she lost herself.
"The Fourth Temple," Sprig replied.
"Right. So, after we charged the last stone, the Music Box opened a portal sending me back to earth, before anything else could happen."
The Plantars made the best fake laugh they could. All four of them knew that something else DID happen, but wanted to wait til later to fill everyone in on that.
"But the Plantars got sucked into the portal, too," Anne continued. "So, yeah, you're pretty much caught up."
Needless to say, everyone was confused as to what was just said to them. First, Anne Boonchuy returned after being missing for five months, but instead of her friends, she came back with this family of anthropomorphic frogs.
"So you're telling me that Matt and the other girls are still trapped in that 'Amphibiland' place?" asked Daniel.
"It's actually called Amphibia," Anne corrected. "Sasha and Marcy are still in Amphibia, I know that, but I'm not sure about Matt. Him and his frog friend, Aaron, were sucked into the portal too, but it was at the last second. When Matt, Sasha, Marcy, and I ended up in Amphibia the first time, we separated. It's possible the same thing happened now."
Right after she finished saying that, Daniel's phone rang. Daniel grabbed his phone and looked at it. According to what was shown, Matt was the one calling him. He was shocked, and hopeful his son was okay. He answered and put the phone to his ear.
"Hello?" he said.
"Dad?" came Matt's voice.
"Matt?"
"Dad! I can't tell you how happy I am to hear your voice right now! I'm so sorry for running away, and I'll tell you everything later, but for now, I'm not in a good situation. My friend, Aaron, and I are currently in the middle of nowhere, and it's very lucky I even have a signal here. I'll find my way back to you, I promise. Tell that to Mom and Carol."
"I will. I love you."
"I love you too. Bye."
With that, Daniel hung up the call.
"Was it him?" asked Julia.
"It was," Daniel replied. "He said that he's in the middle of nowhere with his friend, and that he's trying to find his way back."
"That's awesome to hear," said Julia.
"Anyway," said Anne. "Can the Plantars stay here until we find Matt and a way back to Amphibia?"
Oum chuckled before realizing her daughter wasn't joking. "Wait, you're serious?"
Anne smacked her forehead before turning to her father. "Dad, say something."
"Anne, this is crazy," said Bee. "I wouldn't even believe it if it weren't for the small frog kicking me right now."
Next to him, Polly was kicking Bee's leg. "New legs. You know how it is."
"The adventure is over," Oum assured. "You're home now. The authorities will take care of your friends, and the police can use the new clues we have to find Matt."
"Wait, by authorities, do you mean the government?" Anne asked worriedly. "As soon as they see talking frogs, they'll be probed and dissected in a secret lab."
"What?" said Sprig.
"Elaborate," Hop-Pop requested.
"Anne, don't let them take us!" Polly begged, hugging Anne's leg.
"Don't worry," Anne assured. "We'll protect you. I lived in a cave before you found me. The least I can do is return the favor."
Oum and Bee looked at each other before coming to their final conclusion.
"Okay, they can stay," she assured. "For now."
"Alright, if we're doing this," said Bee. "We gotta be extra careful. No one out there can know you exist. You're all on lockdown."
Carol cleared her throat. Bee realized the Ellises were still in the house.
"Except you three, you can go," he corrected as he let the Ellises out of the house. He then turned back to the others. "As for the rest of you, you are all on lockdown."
"You heard the man," said Hop-Pop. "You're all on lockdown." Bee glared at Hop-Pop. Hop-Pop was confused by this. "What?"
Back in the grassfield, Matt put his phone back in his pocket.
"Let's find the nearest town," he told Aaron. "Hopefully we can learn where we're at and gain directions."
Aaron nodded.
Matt scooped Aaron into his arms. He activated his powers, and flew for the nearest town.
In Amphibia, the Newtopia castle loomed above everyone and everything. Robots surrounded the castle, watching for any intruders. Inside the castle was King Andrias.
"My plans are in motion," he said. "Our forces are growing, and soon, we will be ready to invade. Only two remain who can stand between me and my conquest. Anne Boonchuy and Matthew Ellis."
Andrias pushed buttons to activate screens. These screens showed pictures of Matt and Anne with their respective frog friends.
Two robots emerged from the ceiling. They weren't like the others. These robots had thinner bodies, arms, and legs, along with stronger shoulder pads.
"They must be eliminated," Andrias continued. "This is the one objective for both of you. This mission requires the utmost discretion. We cannot allow the other world to know of the coming invasion. Make sure no earthling sees you."
The two robots scanned their respective target's gems to acquire their energy signature.
Once they were done, Andrias opened the portal to earth. The two bots were about to walk through when…
"One more thing," he told them. "Would you mind picking me up the latest book in the Lord of the Rings series? Marcy got me hooked and I'm dying to know what happens. And maybe some of those potato chip things she has?"
"Eliminate potato chips?" the robots asked as their eyes formed question marks.
"Okay, forget the chips," said Andrias. "Get the book, kill the kids."
The robots walked through the portal. The portal closed.
"Well, Marcy, it looks like your friends are about to be eliminated from the equation," Andrias said. He turned around to reveal Marcy in a rejuvenation tank, recovering from her injuries. "As for you, your part is just beginning."
The cloak-bots made it to Earth. They found themselves in an alleyway somewhere in LA.
The first bot tracked Anne's energy signature to somewhere else in the city.
The second bot tracked Matt's signature to somewhere outside the city.
The two bots activated their cloaking devices and headed off to the locations of their respective targets.
