Sonic could not believe it. When he came home, he didn't expect to find his old best friend.
"Tails"?
"Hey, Sonic".
The 2 looked at each other. None said a word.
After a few seconds of silence, Sonic and Tails simply walked to each other and hugged.
Amy, Cream and Vanilla all watched and smiled.
Sonic then saw the 2 rabbits. "Cream, Vanilla? It's so nice to see you again. Where did you all find each other"?
Amy explained. "I was brought to Cream who's living with Tails.
The blue hedgehog scratched his head. "You two live together? So, you're like housemates".
Cream giggled. "In a way. We share a house, a room and a bed".
"You share a bed. Is it a one room apartment you own".
Cream and Tails each showed a ring on their fingers.
Finally Sonic, understood and he could not believe it. "You and Cream? When? How. When you were eight, you couldn't watch anyone kiss without getting disgusted".
Tails smiled awkwardly. "I grew up".
Sonic laughed. "I'll say. So, what is life like for you".
They talked about a few things. He learned about Rocky. He eventually got to what happened to Cream. He was shocked when he found out that Cream was kidnapped and interrogated.
"It seems new trouble has come. I suspected since that incident on tv. I always knew it would happen even with Eggman dead. These guys are probably part of something big".
Tails nodded. "We don't know exactly who we are dealing with. For all we know, it could be simply two criminals".
Amy nodded. "I know you Sonic and I know you mourned for Eggman when he died. You miss the action, but think of Brisk, you can't recklessly put yourself in danger".
Sonic sighed. "Look Amy, I'll admit I do miss the old days, but you and Brisk, I regret nothing. I would happily take you two over Eggman or adventure any day of the week. But my gut tells me there's more to this. And you and Brisk only make me more determined to stop whatever is out there".
Cream agreed. "I don't think they would break into my house and try to force me to talk if they were a simple minor threat".
Vanilla saw her point. "I want you all to keep clear of the danger, but if they go after you, then there might be no choice".
Amy shrugged it off. "We can talk about it later, I'm not saying we ignore it or anything. But it's been very long since some of us saw each other, we should do some catching up before we go into the field together".
They all agreed.
