Ruby was allowed out of the house. She would use her regranted freedom for great use. To rob a jewellery store. Knuckles wanted to keep her safe at home, but Rouge got her way and Ruby was free to leave. The red bat found herself thinking of Brisk and Rocky again. They seemed nice. She never really had many friends growing up. The ones she did were mainly in prison or hiding from it. As she walked in, she saw there was quite a lot of nice shiny objects.
She took a look around, there was a security camera and a security guard, but that was it. It seemed that the more valuable stuff was close to the counter. Ruby considered her options and decided it would be easier to take the cheaper ones. Her plans were interrupted when a weasel wearing a brown stepson hat, brown belt and brown boots walked in. He took out a popgun and fired at the security alarm. "Alright, let's make this simple. All the jewellery will go in this bag". As he held out a brown bag, he looked around. "You, the red bat on the ground".
Ruby tried to keep her composure. He looked familiar.
"You, red bat, come over here".
She made her way slowly as he handed her a duffle bag. "Take as much as you can and don't try anything smart or I'll shoot all of you".
Ruby decided to play alone until she could find a way out of this. She took as much jewellery as she could. Fang continued to watch the door. The security guard made sure the weasel has guard down before trying to attack.
It was a worthless attempt. Nack, or Fang as he was nicknamed, easily knocked the green moose out. "If anyone else tries to play the hero, it will be worse than what he got".
Ruby then got his attention. "I took as much as I could. Anymore and you would need to drag it".
"Not bad. Now, you're coming with me".
"WHAT? WHY"?
"I need a hostage that will keep the cops from shooting. Personally, I would prefer a shootout, but orders are orders".
Ruby had her hands up as she left the building with the purple and white coloured weasel. Ruby waited until they got outside. "I'm no damsel in distress".
She tornado kicked the unsuspecting captor in the stomach. Fang quickly recovered and tried to shoot. Ruby leaped and disarmed him with a kick.
Fang smirked. "You want to make this fun, alright".
Without the gun, Fang was holding his own. He kept blocking any attack Ruby attempted. Then again, he has experience from battling Sonic the Hedgehog. Ruby's ears heard something. She barely missed getting hit by a hover bike. Fang smirked. "Alright, red. See if you can keep up".
Taking the bag, he fled on the Marvelous Queen as he called her. Ruby followed after. She would catch him, turn him over to the authorities, then take all the jewels as a reward for her selfless deed.
Thankfully for the weasel, he kept a spare gun on his bike. It also fired corks. A few missed Ruby, then she got hit on the left wing by one, making her fall to the ground. Going for the landing, Ruby managed to go regain some control and prevented her head from colliding with the concrete road. She scraped her arms though and it stung horribly. Fang laughed as he made his escape.
A few citizens rushed to assist her. Thankfully, no serious damage.
As for Fang, he headed to the location. An abandoned factory. There he met Sleet. The wolf looked annoyed. "You should have been here six minutes ago".
He growled in return. "All you do is nag. You don't praise me for of my robberies, only argue. Why do I bother to give you this. I could simply take it for myself".
"Because we know that our payer can easily track you down, no matter where you hide. You were the one that introduced us after all. Be grateful that he allows you to get twenty percent of the Prize. I'm not allowed anything".
"Hey, all the money I got was what he paid you to hire you. And that's way more than my twenty percent. And anyway, why don't you sent me to get the emeralds"?
"With your reputation, it would bring attention. It's better if you kept them distracted while we focus on the emeralds". Besides Sleet didn't want to risk Fang getting them. He would simply hand them to the black lizard. Sleet wanted to get his hands on them first.
Fang was wondering. "Why did Fiona need to take in some kid? She doesn't like the one she already has".
"Orders. We can both be thankful that we don't need to deal with her". The weasel and wolf could agree on that.
The black lizard was currently let's his superior speak. "The mayor refuses to allow us to deal with the conflict. She said that the police can deal with the problem. Says we charge more then what was stolen. So, what. Sure, some machines were stolen. But we'll get back… soon". The commander left the black lizard by himself.
Once the commander was out of sight, the lizard morphed into his true form. A black legless body, 3 red eyes and twin red tipped black horns. His attire turned from M.P.U to a dark brown robe. "What a fool. He doesn't suspect me and he wonders why the mayor looks down on the pathetic organization. For years, I was barely alive after Shadow betrayed me. He might have wiped out my alien army years ago, but I will regain my strength with those emeralds and my plan for this planet will succeed.
