Camille, witnessing her boyfriend in distress, finally speaks up and glares angrily at Jett. "Logan isn't your personal source of entertainment that you can just tease and take things from whenever you want. You need to give back his science magazine right now," she asserts.
"Aw, look at that, Logan. Your annoying little girlfriend is defending you. How pathetic," Jett mocks.
"I'm not annoying! You are!" Camille retorts.
Jett is about to come up with another snarky remark when he winces in pain as Katie stomps hard on his foot, causing him to drop the science magazine. She quickly grabs it and returns it to Logan.
"Thanks, Katie-Bear. I can always rely on you to help me deal with jerks like Jett," Logan appreciates Katie's assistance, treating her like a surrogate little sister.
"Ow, you little troublemaker! That hurt!" Jett yells.
"I can do much worse. Don't push me," Katie warns.
"Alright, that's enough. Both of you, sit down at your desks immediately," Miss Collins demands as she enters the classroom. "I witnessed everything that happened, and I'm appalled at you, Jett. You should be ashamed of yourself. Bullying is not tolerated in this classroom, and you know that. Detention after school."
"What?! Katie stomped on my foot! Where's her punishment?!" Jett protests.
"My name is Katie! Do you have such a short memory?!" Katie corrects him.
"What I saw was Katie defending Logan. Are you really that upset that a ten-year-old girl stomped on your foot? The pain should have subsided by now," Miss Collins explains.
"She should still be punished just for existing!" Jett exclaims.
Fed up with his immature and childish behavior, Miss Collins sighs and rubs her temples. "Jett, you're the only one facing consequences. End of discussion. Be quiet so I can start the class. I have a very important announcement for everyone to hear."
Jett finally sighs in defeat and sits down at his desk, frowning with his arms crossed.
"What's the announcement, Miss Collins?" Logan politely asks.
"It's actually related to your science magazine," Miss Collins explains.
"What do you mean?" Logan asks, curious.
"Can you tell me what the main story on the cover is?" Miss Collins inquires.
"It's about the upcoming solar eclipse happening on Monday," Logan replies.
"Exactly. My announcement is about a very special science project. We will all be watching the solar eclipse together as a class, and it is mandatory," Miss Collins announces.
Most of the class doesn't seem very happy or interested with this news, but Logan is filled with excitement and enthusiasm.
"Wow, that's amazing news, Miss Collins!" Logan exclaims.
"I'm glad you're interested. If only the rest of the class felt the same way," Miss Collins sighs.
"Maybe witnessing the solar eclipse will change their minds when they experience it," Logan suggests.
"I doubt it. You're a nerd, Logan. Of course, you're interested in all this boring science stuff," Jett teases.
"It's not boring science stuff. It's an incredible astronomical event. The next one won't happen for another 21 years," Logan defends.
"I'm too lazy to do that math," Jett admits.
Logan rolls his eyes and sighs. "The next visible one will be in 2045. Some solar eclipses occur without being noticed," he explains.
"Logan is correct. This solar eclipse is a fantastic educational opportunity to learn about astronomy. All of you should follow Logan's example and show more interest in it," Miss Collins encourages.
