On this splendid Saturday morning, the ambiance is simply delightful, with the sun's radiant rays gracefully streaming through the windows of the living room and the bedrooms. Kendall, however, finds himself slightly vexed by the intrusive beam of sunlight that manages to penetrate the curtains of the shared bedroom window, disturbing his peaceful slumber alongside Logan. Casting his gaze upon the smaller teen, Kendall notices an impressive array of sleep aids adorning him. A soothing mask, enveloping him in a cocoon of darkness, a weighted blanket to induce relaxation, a gentle mist of lavender spray to alleviate stress, and noise-canceling headphones to drown out any unwanted disturbances. Unbeknownst to him, the morning has arrived, and Logan snores away, his mouth agape and a trail of drool escaping his lips. Kendall, silently amused by the sight, decides against rousing him from his deep slumber. Slipping into his cozy slippers, he tiptoes out of the room, making his way to the kitchen to prepare a delectable breakfast for everyone. Just moments later, Katie enters the room, her yawns punctuating the tranquility, clutching her beloved companion, Giggles, tightly to her chest.
"Did you have a frightful dream, my dear sister?" Kendall inquires, his voice filled with concern. "I know you hold Giggles ever so tightly when such occurrences transpire." He presents her with a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice.
"Oh, no, Kendall. I didn't have a nightmare at all," Katie replies, her voice laced with contentment. "I simply adore cuddling with Giggles because he's my most cherished stuffed animal." She takes a sip of her juice, a serene smile gracing her lips.
"Ah, splendid! I'm overjoyed to hear that you had a peaceful night," Kendall remarks, his relief evident in his tone.
The scent of food is potent enough to entice James and Logan out of their beds and into the living room.
"Look who has risen from the depths of slumber," Kendall remarks, glancing at Logan and chuckling. "You must have been in a deep and restful sleep with all those sleep aids you've been using."
"Were you attempting to wake me up?" Logan inquires.
"No, I left our bedroom quietly so as not to disturb you. I thought you could use the extra sleep after yesterday," Kendall explains. "Hopefully today will be better, and hopefully Jett won't cause any problems for us."
"Jett is a persistent presence in our lives that we must confront regardless. I believe I can handle him," Logan asserts. "But today, my focus is on the upcoming solar eclipse. I plan to conduct as much research as possible and share my findings with Miss Collins on Monday. Perhaps she will allow me to present what I've learned to the class."
"You may not receive the reception you desire from everyone in our class, Logan. No one else is as enthusiastic about the solar eclipse as you are. It will be challenging to generate interest from others," Kendall points out.
"I understand, but I must make the effort," Logan insists.
"You're right. Perhaps your discoveries will be engaging enough to capture their attention," Kendall concedes.
After their breakfast, the boys and Katie each go about their morning routine. They take refreshing showers, diligently brush their teeth, and carefully choose their outfits for the day ahead.
As they finish up, Katie excitedly announces her plans for the day. "I'm going to become Bob Ross with Tyler! Bye!" she exclaims, quickly leaving the apartment.
Curious about Katie's sudden interest in the famous painter, Kendall turns to Logan and asks, "Bob Ross? How does she know who that is?"
Logan explains, "Well, during our conversation last night, his name came up. Katie mentioned that she and Tyler wanted to do something special to celebrate the solar eclipse. I told her that both of them are incredibly creative artists, but maybe not quite at Picasso's level. So, I suggested they could be more like Bob Ross. That seemed to pique her curiosity, and I showed her a picture of him and some of his videos. It really inspired her."
Kendall is amazed by Logan's ability to capture Katie's attention. "Wow, Logan, that's incredible. Whenever I try to get her interested in something, she just ignores me. What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?"
Logan shrugs and replies, "I don't know, Kenny. I guess I just got lucky with her interest in Bob Ross. I honestly didn't think she would find his videos inspiring. I thought she would find them boring. But I enjoy watching his videos, and it's adorable to see Katie's creativity come to life. She's not just sitting on the couch playing video games all day like some of us."
Kendall nods in agreement. "You're right. My mom already thinks we play too many video games. But hey, some of us are more addicted than others," he says, glancing at Carlos and James, who are engrossed in a game of Call of Duty on the couch, unintentionally proving Logan's point.
