Lincoln Loud was nervous..
Who wouldn't be nervous when they were about to have their first Pokemon battle ever, and if that wasn't bad enough, it was against the student council president of Uva Academy, the strongest Pokemon trainer in the whole school!
Now Lincoln considered running away, but then he figured that it would spread around the school that he was a coward ran away from a pokémon battle, which he figured would effect him negatively. And that's the last thing he wanted as he has had enough negativity for a while.
"Okay, you can do this Lincoln! Just believe in Scorbunny, and I'm sure we will be able to get through this."said Lincoln, trying to give himself a pep talk.
"Lincoln, over here!"said Nemona, getting the attention of Lincoln as he made his way to her family's private beach.
"Wow, I expect nothing less from a rich family."said Lincoln, since the private beach was bigger than his family's entire yard.
"Over here!"said Nemona, who was standing on a private pokémon battlefield.
"So, how are we going to do this?"inquired Lincoln, as he approached the student council president.
"Well since you only have one Pokemon, and it's low level. I'll be using a Pokemon I just recently acquired as well."said Nemona, figuring giving herself handicaps would be fair.
"Okay..."said Lincoln, who was glad this person in front of him wasn't going all out.
"I'll act that's a referee, if that is okay."said Mr Clavell, as he walked to the private beach.
"That's fine, director."said Nemona, having no problem with the director of The Academy acting as referee.
"I have no issue with that either."said Lincoln, figuring having a referee would make things more fair.
"Okay, then call out your Pokemon."said Mr Clavell, motioning for a student's to call out their Pokemon for battle.
"I'm not exactly good at throwing."said Lincoln, since throwing and catching weare not his specialty.
"That's fine, Lincoln. I have trouble throwing pokeballs as well."said Nemona, pointing to her arm brace as she did that.
"Oh."simply said Lincoln, who was wondering why she was wearing that arm brace, and now he knew.
"Let's call out your Pokemon."said Mr Clavell, repeating himself.
"Scorbunny, I choose you!"said Lincoln, calling out the rabbit pokémon for battle.
"Sprigatito, I choose you!"said Nemona, calling out a green cat like pokémon for battle.
The Pokemon in question was a quadrupedal feline Pokémon covered in pale green fur. It has green ears with pale green insides, a tuft of fur on the front of its chest and a green marking around its pink eyes and nose that resemble leaves.
"Wow, a grass type versus a fire type. You are really underestimating me."said Lincoln, who felt a little insulted.
"A pokémon battle isn't decided by type alone. And don't for a second think my Sprigatito is a one-trick Pokemon. He has a bunch of tricks up his not existent sleeves."said Nemona, revealing she wasn't looking down on Lincoln.
She was just confident that type alone didn't decide a battle!
"I can't argue with that."said Lincoln, while trying it's best to remember what moves Scorbunny knows from the book see read on the plane.
"You get the first move."said Nemona, figuring she would give her new classmate the first move.
"Thank you. Then I guess I'll go with tackle!"instructed Lincoln, causing the rabbit Pokemon to charge towards the grass cat Pokemon, with the intention of tackling him!
"Dodge it!"ordered Nemona, making the grass cat pokémon jump out of the way, surprising Scorbunny, who was a little confused.
"So fast!"said Lincoln, who now understood what Nemona meant by what she said earlier.
"Use bite!"ordered Nemona, making the grass cat pokémon run towards Scorbunny with the intention of biting him with the dark type move.
"Um... Dodge it!"ordered Lincoln, making Scorbunny turn around and quickly jump out of the way to avoid getting hit with bite!
"Scorbunny, use ember!"ordered Lincoln, figuring he would go with a super effective move right off the bat.
Scorbunny gave his trainer a thumbs up before he took a deep breath, and a second later on at least a small blast of fire towards the grass cat Pokemon!
"Use leaf edge to intercept!"ordered Nemona, causing the grass cat pokémon to form a few dozen glowing green leaves around his body, before he used them to stop ember from hitting him!
"Woah!"said Lincoln, who was not expecting that.
"Use scratch!"ordered Nemona, making the grass cat Pokemon extend his claws, before Sprigatito ran towards Scorbunny and scratched his face, causing damage!
"Scor!"said Scorbunny, as he desperately wiped away the scratches from his face, before glaring at Sprigatito!
"Use quick attack!"ordered Lincoln, barely remembering that the rabbit Pokemon knew that move.
Scorbunny smiled as he created White energy around his body, before he ran towards the grass cat Pokemon at high speed and struck him with quick attack, causing damage!
"Spri!"said Sprigatito, as he was pushed back to his trainer's side of the field.
"Use leafage!"ordered Nemona, causing the grass cat Pokemon to form several growing leaves around his body, before launching them at the rabbit Pokemon!
"Step to the right!"said Lincoln, ordering his rabbit Pokemon to move out of the way, which he quickly did.
"I was hoping you would do that."said Nemona, confusing Lincoln until he saw who was close to Scorbunny.
Scorbunny felt someone was close to him as well, calling him to look to his side to see Sprigatito right up to his face, freaking him out, as he wondered how the grass cat Pokemon got there so fast!
"Use scratch!"ordered Nemona, causing the grass cat Pokemon to scratch Scorbunny, causing damage!
"Use double kick!"ordered Lincoln, making the rabbit pokémon quickly recover from scratch attack, before he kicked Sprigatito in the chin with the fighting type move!
He launched the grass cat pokémon into the air, before he jumped into the air and struck Sprigatito with the second kick, momentarily stunning Sprigatito!
"Not bad!"said Nemona, who sounded impressed.
"We are not done! Use ember!"ordered Lincoln, causing the rabbit pokémon to take in a deep breath, before he unleashed a small blast of fire a second later!
Use swift!"ordered Nemona, causing the grass cat Pokemon to form several star like energy projectiles around his body, before he launched them at Scorbunny!
Both ember and swift quickly struck both of their targets, surrounding both pokémon in a small dust cloud. As the dust settled, it was revealed that both Scorbunny and Sprigatito were knocked out!
"What?"said Nemona, who appear to have a look of shock on her face.
"Huh?"said Lincoln, who expected the outcome, but they're not expect the student council president to have a smile on her face.
It was like she like the fact that her Pokemon was knocked out.
"Both Scorbunny and Sprigatito are unable to battle! I declare this battle of draw."said Mr Clavell, using his role as referee to declare a draw.
"Scorbunny. You did an awesome job for your first battle. Now take a good rest."said Lincoln, while we calling the rabbit pokémon back to his pokeball.
"You did an awesome job, Sprigatito. I have a feeling you and I are going to go places."said Nemona, while recalling her pokémon back to his pokeball.
As soon as they were done, both trainers walk towards one another and shook hands to show good sportsmanship.
"You have a lot of potential Lincoln. I have a feeling you're going to get a whole lot stronger in the near future."said Nemona, feeling like she finally found the rival she has been looking for.
"Gee, thanks."said Nemona, as hearing that from the strongest trainer in the school really is a confidence booster.
"I'm glad you two are showing good sportsmanship."said Mr Clavell, as he approached his students.
"Miss Nemona, can you do me a favor and take Master Lincoln to school. We need his measurements for his uniform."said Mr Clavell, asking the student council president to take her classmate to school.
"No problem, Mr Clavell."said Nemona, who was happy to help.
"Well then, I'll continue my business with your parents in the meantime."said Mr Clavell, before he politefully excused himself and walked away.
"Mr Clavell appears to really care about his students."said Lincoln, who noticed that detail when they first met.
"Yeah! He really does care about the school and its students. Now Victoria to class so you can get your measurements for your uniform."said Nemona, grabbing Lincoln's arm and pulling him as she ran along.
"Nemona, I can walk!"said Lincoln, but his pleas fell on deaf ears, as the student council president continued dragging him along.
Meanwhile, not too far away from where they were standing on metallic like lizard like creature just came out of the ocean. At first it look like a robot, but I'm fine closer inspection it was clear that this creature was organic,as its robot like features were just shiny scales.
Little did Lincoln know this creature know, they would soon have an encounter that would be the stuff of Legends!
