Retribution
Ethan Hunt's family is in danger as a man (Gabriel) from Ethan's past comes back ten years later with one intention: to make Ethan suffer. Why? Because it's not the killing he enjoys, it's the suffering it causes, and Gabriel knows the best way to hurt Ethan is through those he cares about most.
Notes: All rights go to the Mission Impossible cast and crew members!
This story is a sequel to Test Of Faith, set ten years later, so read that first, and this will make a lot more sense.
Gabriel: This guy again? Yep, we all know and hate him but that means he's a good villain. We all remember the sociopathic serial killer who was once Ethan's friend and mentor. The one who for some reason, has a very punchable face, seriously! When he's in a scene, don't you just wanna break his nose for good measure? I certainly do. Maybe Ethan can for us by the end. Oh yeah, Gabriel's not dead! The slick douchebag somehow survived getting shot in the head, yeah, it's disappointing, I know.
Ethan Hunt's family: He has a son named Adan, and an ex-wife named Julia.
Julia: She's a nurse and is currently remarried to Eric.
Eric: He's a genuinely nice person who loves his family but he doesn't know anything about Ethan besides the fact that he seemed nice.
Adam: He's 12 years old and knows the basics of his father's work and they have a great relationship. He's a lot like Ethan, he's brave, intuitive, kind, and annoyingly stubborn at times.
Ethan: He's a spy and former assassin, (he'd really love to forget about that part) who works for the IMF, a private agency in the CIA. Ethan will always put others first, even above the mission.
Luther: Ethan's best friend and teammate who has been with him for as long as he can remember. Luther understands Ethan better than anyone else and can tell when something's wrong. Luther is sympathetic extremely intelligent, and analytical, and will always listen and support his team.
Benji: Ethan's teammate and friend who's always there to lighten the mood and has amazing computer knowledge. And yes, he's still more experienced than Ethan, so he's technically the team leader.
Grace: She's a new member of the team and has a knack for pickpocketing and thievery. But ultimately she's a good person who can hold her own when she needs to even though she has a lot to learn.
Will: An old member of Ethan's team who is an analyst and is cautious about whom he trusts but will always be there when Ethan needs him.
Jane: Another former teammate of Ethan's who's Will's best friend and most trusted ally. She's a great fighter and she knows how to spot the little things.
Ilsa: She's alive in this. She has a very close yet complex relationship with Ethan, and she's actually an IMF agent. Yeah, screw MI6!
All the other movies besides 1 and 2 have already happened at this point (yeah, Ethan would love a vacation), and it's also after Dead Reckoning 1 and 2, which was just the Entity as a villain and everyone was trying to get the key. Now it's destroyed along with the key, so that's all in the past now. So Gabriel wasn't involved in any of it.
I know, it's a lot of notes, sorry!
