He felt cold then nothing. Branch could barely hear the crying from his wife or brothers and sisters or even his friends. Poppy was fairing no better; everything was just muffled in her ears as her tears blurred her vision. How could this have happened? He wasn't supposed to die. How was she going to do this without him? The only thing to eventually snap Poppy and everyone else out of their thoughts was Barb aggressively playing her guitar. Barb was so angry and upset about what happened to Branch that she just did not know how to cope with those feelings so she did what she always did whenever she was overwhelmed. She played her guitar to express those feelings she couldn't handle. She didn't even notice everyone staring at her; she just kept playing her heart out over the loss of her baby brother. They lost him again and this time she does not see a way for him to come back to them. Poppy just wanted to yell at her to stop, she wanted to turn grey but she had to keep herself together for the sake of her future children. Floyd saw the look on Poppy's face and was about to stop his sister, but someone stopped him.
John had stopped Floyd when he saw that his brother was about to stop his little sister from playing her guitar. When she started to play he was surprised by the sudden sound just like everyone else, but then he remembered back on Rhonda about Barb playing the Ultimate Power Chord while they hit the Perfect Family Harmony. Maybe just maybe if they hit the Perfect Family Harmony again but this time with her playing the Ulitmate Power Chord it could save Branch. "Barb, don't stop playing." John shouted, filled with a new found hope confusing everyone who was there. "John, what are you doing?" Spruce asked, depressed. "I think there might be a way to save Branch." John said. Barb just listened carefully trying to figure out how her playing guitar would save their little brother. "What are you talking about?" Clay asked, not understanding John's train of thought. "We are going to do what Barb said earlier." Was all the answer John Dory gave before he rushed to Poppy carefully lifting her up, having her look at him. "What did Barb say?" A much duller Poppy asked what everyone including Barb was thinking. John did not answer her, he just began to sing. Barb wondered if he was going to try the Perfect Family Harmony and then she looked down at her guitar and realised what he was thinking. With a smile she began to play her guitar much louder and sing with John who smiled at her because he knew that she was on his train of thought.
The only rule is get on your lil' feet
I don't wanna see nobody heatin' up their seat
And if you believe it, if you 'bout it
No matter where you're from
The apple don't fall from it
Now people wanna know when they see us dancin'
Wanna know how we got those moves
At first Spruce, Clay, and Floyd did not understand what two of their siblings, but when they looked at Holly and Brandy who seemed to begin to understand what was going on as she began to sing along with them. Barb smiled at her twin and older brothers before turning to her sister, tears stained on her cheeks but she had stopped crying, truly believing that this would work. John looked at his wife, mother of his son that they were trying to save. She seemed lost when Riff and Carol had gone to join their respective spouses. She then turned to her husband and saw the life in his eyes, the hope in his voice, and it was infectious. Val could not help but go to him and sing too.
People wanna bottle it up, But no can do
People wanna know how to find that feelin'
Wanna know how we got that groove
They're thirsty for the juice, But I'ma tell you the truth
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
It's all about you and me, Any color, it doesn't matter
The way you're shinin' on the inside's all that matter
The Extended Snack Pack were watching the Timberlake Family singing and saw Branch start to have a faint halo of a glow go around him once again like he did when they had hit the Perfect Family Harmony. Immidentantly they understood that their plan was then joinned in. Suki had run up to Clay the moment Branch's body first hit the ground. She had been moarning but maybe not as much as Clay. He had just lost his brother for a second time. So if there was a chance to save him she was going to take no questions asked and there would be no doubt that she would be by Clay's side all the way.
A different mama, a different mister
Talk your talk and walk your walk
You know I'm right there with ya, and
People wanna know when they see us dancin',
Wanna know how we got those moves
People wanna bottle it up, But no can do
People wanna know how to find that feelin'
Wanna know how we got that groove
They're thirsty for the juice, But I'ma tell you the truth
Poppy had been so grief stricken and having preggnantcy brain was not helping her. She just could not figure out what everyone was doing not until she saw Branch floating like before but this time with more color to him. She decided to have a leap of faith and join in the music putting everything on the line. If this did not work she was sure that she would turn grey from grief. How was she supposed to go through life without Branch? She truly hoped that she would never have to find out. Now it was time for Barb to hit the Ultimate Power Chord. She strummed her guitar and it hit Branch sending a burst of electricity towards the former grey troll.
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
It's all about you and me
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
It's all about you and me, Come on now
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
Ooh, ooh-ooh, It runs in the family
It's all about you and me
People wanna know when they see us dancin'
Wanna know how we got those moves
People wanna know how we got that feelin'
It's all about you and me
Branch was lifted up and when he was struck with the Ulitamte Power Chord combined with the Perfect Family Harmony he was charged with electricity. Then cocooned within a giant rock crystilist that landed heavily with a thud on the ground stopping everyone cold in their tracks. John went up to the rock and fell to his knees. This was supposed to have worked. "Branch. Son, we need you. I need you." John whispered as tears ran down his face. Not caring who saw. Spruce soon joined his older brother. "Come on brother." He said as he placed his hand on the rock that was Branch. Floyd was being held by Barb aggressively and he was trying to wipe the tears from his face not wanting to believe that Branch was gone. Suki held onto Clay as he stubbled to the rock repeating the word "no '' over and over again. Val had rushed straight to Poppy the moment Branch had turned into a rock. The younger troll collapsed into the others arms sobbing. They had truly thought and hoped that this would work, but before Poppy had allowed herself to turn completely grey a cracking sound was heard. They all heard the sound and looked up at the rock only to see red and pink cracks begin to form into it. They all moved from it as fast as they could. "Barb what's happening?" Brandy asked her sister-in-law, but Barb was just as confused as to what was happening. "I don't know but I think we all should get down." Quickly everyone took cover and shielded themselves from the immediate explosion that came from the rock cocoon. When the dust settled Poppy looked up and the sight was one to behold. In the middle of everything was Branch who was alive. He was on the ground holding his head coughing.
Branch was trying to stand on his own two feet but was still very weak. Poppy could not believe her eyes and jumped out of Val's arms and rushed to Branch with Val trailing close behind her. John Dory was the first to rush and reach him to try to help steady him but it was very clear that Branch would need medical help and fast. Poppy was almost scared to tough Branch when she reached him. Val held her not only trying to support her but use her as support as well. Spruce was the second one to reach Branch and he helped carry Branch. John Dory had one of Branch's arms and Spruce on the other. "We need to get Branch back to the village now." Spruce said in his assertive dad tone leaving no room for discussion. The Extended Snack Pack were the first ones back on Rhonda setting up a place for Branch to rest. John had a pull down bed that they pulled down getting it ready. Spruce and John had helped one another with Branch, but when they reached Rhonda John insisted on carrying Branch. He lifted Branch up bridal style and walked him to the bed that was now set up. When he placed his son on the bed John held onto Branch's arm begging for him to hold on.
Poppy had stayed right behind Spruce and John as they moved Branch to Rhonda. When John took over moving Branch she stayed close behind but too close so John could still have a moment with Branch. SHe understands that it must be hard for him. Soon Val moved past Poppy and joined John by Branch's bedside. The rest of the Timberlake Family stood patiently behind Poppy while the Extended Snack Pack waited patiently in the main part of Rhonda. John realised he now had an audience not wanting to wait much longer to get Branch the help that he needed; he slowly guided Val and his siblings away from Branch leaving only Poppy with him. He knew that his son was in safe hands with her. Poppy slowly made her way to the other side of the bed almost afraid that this wasn't real, that if she blinked at the wrong time, or touched him, or even breathed on him he would disappear forever. She eased herself ontop the bed feeling the weight of all that had happened that day and with the preggnancy of two eggs she was feeling exhausted. She had overexerted herself with the rescue. She glanced down at Branch and smiled. Poppy layed down next to him and for the first time she allowed herself to give into how tired she felt. Drifting off to sleep next to Branch being mindful of how delicate he must be feeling at the moment. Poppy closed her eyes and fell asleep to the sound of her husband's steady breating reminding her that he was alive.
John headed straight for the steering wheel waiting for everyone to get into Rhonda before leaving. "Is everyone on Rhonda?" John asked a little aggressively. Not trying to be mean but just a little ansty because of the state Branch was in. The last one to enter the caterbus was Suki. "Sorry I just needed to grab something real quick, but I'm the last one. Let's go." She said as she sat next to Clay who wrapped his arm around Suki placing his head on hers. He leaned in to whisper in her ear. "What were you grabbing?" Clay asked curiously." Suki reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of the diamond prison Branch had been in. Clay almost had to do a double take when he saw what she had. "Is that?" Not wanting to believe Suki actually had what she did. "Suki why would you grab that?" Clay asked, a little upset. Suki placed the piece of diamond back into her pocket and placed her free hand on her boyfriend's shoulder. "Relax. It is just in case Dr. Plum needs it when she tries to help Branch. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. That's all." Clay realized that she was right and was kicking himself for not thinking about that. If Branch needed a piece of his prison and none of them had it it could have cost Branch his life, again. "You're right. Thank you." Suki just smiled at him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Clay was finally able to truly relax since this whole nightmare started. He started to close his eyes and prayed for his headach to go away. Suki just snuggled up hoping that Branch would be ok and that Clay would be ok as well. This whole thing as be extremely tense and everyone was coming down from the adrenaline that has been keeping them going.
John was driving Rhonda as fast as he possibly could. Spruce was looking worriedly at his older brother and he wanted to calm him down but he understood the fear John was displaying. If Branch had been a few seconds slower their positions would have been reversed. That did not escape his grasp. Spruce was very much prepared to thank Branch when he was well again. He was also going to stick by John's side till this whole thing was over. He knew that John would need his support right now and he also knew that John would do that same for him. Spruce wanted to be there for John in the way he hadn't when they all lost Branch all those years ago. Brandy would do the same for Val, because they hadn't just lost a brother; they lost their son. Neither he or his wife could ever think how it would feel to lose a child but they wanted to make sure that John and Val had all the support they needed until this was over or if for some unspeakable reason if things went south. Spruce was also scared. Branch had saved his son and daughter from this fate. Who knows what would have happened to them if they'd been the ones captured. Branch please make it. Spruce was worried sick at the thought of SJ blaming himself if Branch didn't, but Spruce was snapped out of his thoughts when John spoke up. "We are at the edge of Trolltopia."
It wasn't long till they reached the medical ward, Floyd, Barb, Clay, and Suki did not even wait for Rhonda to fully stop before they hoped out of her and headed straight towards Dr. Plum. Spruce headed to the room where John had placed Branch and saw him sleeping with Poppy. Branch was looking much better than he had when they first reached the caterbus but he still didn't look well. His hair now permanently had white roots. He felt awful for all that Branch had been through his whole life. They always thought that if they had all been there for him nothing would have hurt him, but look at where that got them. Spruce picked up Branch and led him into the medical ward, he had asked Brandy to wake up Poppy so she wouldn't be freaked out when she woke up and saw Branch missing. When he had gotten Branch inside he placed him down on one of the examining tables where Dr. Plum had instructed him. She was handed the piece of diamond shard by Suki and she had looked over it before Spruce had gotten Branch in there. It was a good thing Suki had grabbed the piece of diamond when she did. Escape type of diamond is responsible for a different type of reaction, but since Suki gave her the type that Branch was held captive in, she knew exactly how to help him.
Once Branch was on the table she looked him over and gave him the normal check up before asking Spruce additional questions before Poppy came in and joined them. After she was there Spruce went back out but when he didn't see John or Val he went towards Rhonda to see them crying. Everyone else was waiting outside not wanting to overcrowd the medical ward. Val and John were on Rhonda scared of what would happen to their boy and the two needed a moment to themselves before they went in and Dr. Plum told them what would happen to Branch. Spruce made his way to Rhonda and opened the doors. When John looked up at the sound he saw his brother. "What if we were too late?" John whispered just loud enough for his brother to hear and Spruce realized that it was his turn to be the stronge brother to be there for John just like he has been there for all of them in the past. Spruce pulled his brother into a tight hug letting a few tears of his own slip down his face. "Branch is the toughest troll there is if any one can make it through this it will be him. I'm sure of this." Spruce said with absolute confidence and it was something that John needed to hear. Little did they know Val heard this too and she believes him.
Poppy stood by Branch's side through it all. It took a while before Branch woke back up, when he did the first thing he saw was Poppy. He gave her a weak smile as he tried to get up, but Poppy quickly shut that down. "No, no, no Dr. Plum said that you need to be resting and she actually said that about the both of us. She checked me out after she looked you over. She said you were well but it will be a while before you feel one hundred percent again. Which means letting your family help take care of you and things that need to get done. At least until you are better. Ok?" Branch just nodded at his wife as he settled back down. He would have spoken but his voice was hurting and felt weak which was no surprise Dr. Plum said that it might take a while before it would be completely back but to rest it. Once they got Branch settled in his bed and he was fully conscious Dr. Plum said that he was ready for visitors. Everyone was excited and eager to see Branch and were trying to make sure that they didn't overwhelm Branch or Poppy. Sadly the room was smaller than they had hoped it would be and not all of them could fit into it. One look at Branch before turning to one another Smidge and Milton looked at one another and knew what they had to do.
Tomorrow was supposed to be Smigde and Milton's wedding but Milton had asked Branch to be his best man, which was part of the reason they had cut their honeymoon short; they had wanted to be there for their friends. Also most do not realize this but Branch and Milton are really close. They bonded over different types of creatures and critters and soon the bromance was born. Poppy was heartbroken that they were going to cancel their wedding or at least postpone it till Branch was better then she had an idea. "Don't cancel anything just yet, give me an hour." Satin and Chenille got Smidge and Milton in wedding ready clothes and the Extended Snack Pack decorated the lounge area. John and Spruce helped Branch into a wheelchair and argued over who would get to roll him around. That was before Floyd came in and took off with Branch. Clay was getting ready to officiate the wedding like he had done before. When Milton reached the altar he honestly didn't know what to say. "Thank you." He told Branch. "What are friends for?" Branch said. Biggie got ready to walk Smidge down the aisle, just as she took her first steps Milton began to sing his song for her.
To the rhythm of my voice
A sound coming from nowhere
What's this vibe that's got you cornered?
That's the question you ask yourself
Don't look any further
I'm the reason
Wait for an electroshock
I come straight from another time
From a generation
My sound is for you
No matter your color
Your body vibrate
To the rhythm of my voice
Let yourself go, don't hold back
Everybody says with me: Oh oh
I want to hear boys and girls: Oh oh
Everyone sang as they saw how beautiful Smidge looked and she seemed so happy with Milton. Branch even though it felt selfish he was glad to get to see one of his closest friend's getting married. Milton felt his heart swell. The most important people in his life are here to see him marry the most important woman in his life. Even though they were in a hospital with his best man bedridden and sitting in a wheelchair, he couldn't be happier and he just kept singing to his beloved. Smidge could not believe how far they've all come from just kids singing and dancing without a care in the world to them starting families and reuniting with lost ones. This truly was one of the best days of their lives. Everyone cheered when the two kissed signifying their marriage. Milton finished singing his song to his now wife.
Music flows in my veins
I live for the studio and the scene
Baggy, white sneakers on
I'm ready to get down
I let my body go with the flow
My steps brush the floor with a kiss
My senses expand
You don't follow me anymore, I'm marking a stop
That's it, we're off
Right now I'm untouchable
Invincible I told you
Unidentified sonic object
Even you dig my sound, you know it
Smidge and Milton have never been happier than they were at that moment even though their wedding was an unusual one for sure. Poppy was so happy for her friends but that moment was short lived as she felt the eggs getting ready to crack. Troll preggnancies don't typically last very long, but this was still a little early. She knew she had pushed herself too hard. Poppy realized that maybe she should have listened to John, but that would not have helped her stress levels at all. Branch was still in his wheelchair feeling a little stronger than he did when he had first come in. He had noticed the look on Poppy's face and became concerned. "Poppy?" Branch said, drawing the attention of the room. He had not meant to put the spotlight on her; he was just concerned about her. Poppy hesitated for a moment with all the eyes on her she gave a smile even though she wa sfilled with worry she was still excited about meeting her babies. "I think they are coming." She said meekly. Branch bunched his eyebrows before realizing what she was talking about. Branch tried to wheel himself over to Dr. Plum but was struggling a bit. "I'll get the doctor Branch, you stay with Poppy." John said dashing off so his son didn't have to worry about everything as much. John came back with Dr. Plum in record time and she moved Branch and Poppy in a joint room because she still wanted to keep Branch overnight to make sure he is getting the nutrients that he needs to keep a steady recovery. Branch stayed in the wheelchair for now but promised to get in bed soon. John had helped wheel Branch into the delivery room.
"Ok, with the father here one more can stay in the room while the rest of you stay out in the waiting area." Dr. Plum said before walkin off to get her needed supplies ready for when the babies got here. Val turned to her husband. "John, you should go in there." John was taken back by that. "No, Val I…" John didn't know what to say. He had expected everyone to disagree with him being the one in the delivery room, but no one objected. "I'll go get Peppy and Viva so they can be here when the babies arrive." Val said before giving her husband a kiss on the cheek and rushing out of the medical ward to get the other set of grandparents. John looked at Spruce as if silently asking for advice. Spruce just smiled at his brother. "Go be there for your son. We will be here when you need us." Clay, Holly, Barb, and Floyd smiled back at John as well. He finally felt the confidence to go into the room where Branch and Poppy were.
Poppy was beyond nervous at the fact that they babies were a few weeks early, Branch tried to calm her down but did not have a lot of time before Dr. Plum came rushing in. "Ok let's meet these little trollings." Dr. Plum said before pulling one egg out of the queen's hair, keeping it warm as it cracked. The first baby was a beautiful little girl with the loudest cry. "She's perfectly healthy and with definatly have a set of lungs on her." Dr. Plum said, giving the baby a health check up before wrapping her up in a pink blanket and handing her off to dad. "Ok, one down. One to go." Dr. Plum said as she pulled out the second egg just like before keeping it warm as it cracked. When the baby was revealed it was a handsome little boy who looked like he was crying but made no sound. At first the doctor thought the baby might be choking but he was showing no signs of asphyxiation so she did a different test. What she found was very surprising. "Huh?" This made the new parents nervous. John took the little girl from Branch's arms so he could support Poppy. "What's wrong?" Branch asked, reaching his arm to grab Poppy's hand. "Nothing. Just surprising. He is perfectly healthy, but he does not have vocal chords." Dr. Plum explained. "Was it because of them coming early?" Poppy asked fearfully. Dr. Plum shook her head. "No. This would have happened now matter when he was born." She said easing Poppy's fear that she ruined her child, but no he was just different. He was special and they would get through it together as a family. John was grateful that they allowed him to take part in this moment. "Hey this little guy has the two of you as parents he is going to be just fine."
While Poppy and Branch were me in the delivery room Clay was a nervous wreck. If you didn't know any better it looked like he was the one giving birth. Suki placed a hand on her boyfriend's arm asking him what's wrong and the only thing he could say was him blurting out. "Will you marry me?" Of course Suki was taken back by this. She did not expect him to ask her. If she was being honest she didn't think he was the marrying kind and she was ok with that but now that he had asked all she could do was pull him into a kiss. "So is that a yes?" Clay asked. Suki could only laugh and nod her head. The rest of the family saw this impromptu proposal and were thrilled for the two. With all the cheering in the waiting area none of them could hear the cries of newborn babies. The thing that got everyone's attention was John walking into the waiting room and clearing his throat. "What's going on?" He asked with a smirk. "Clay and Suki are engaged." Brandy said excitedly tugging on her husband's arm. "That's amazing. Now for some more good news. They're here." The room became silent with those words. They all carefully made their way into the room where Branch and Poppy were in the same bed each one holding a baby in their arms.
Poppy absolutely loves how Branch went from having only her as a family to an exponentially growing one. They had two beautiful kids, one girl and one boy. They named their daughter Rosie after the best woman they knew. Poppy never considered the name Gary before Branch had revealed to Poppy that he had secretly always wanted a son named Gary and after hearing that she just could not say no. She also loved the name. Rosie was pink like her mother and grandmother but like her name she also got Rosiepuff's purple hair. Rosie was very energetic like her mother and had an angelic voice like her father. Her brother Gary didn't sing and it's not because he didn't want to. It was because he was a mute. He could still hear and understand everything going on around him but he just couldn't talk. Gary is teal like his father and uncles but was a bit more dull. His colors were not vibrant like his sister's but they were just as special. And he had silver hair. It was like a peppy grey. Which seemed to fit. Poppy and Branch loved both of their children with everything they had.
King Peppy, Queen Viva, and Val had rushed back as soon as they possibly could and made it just in time to meet their grandbabies. When Poppy and Branch had told them the names that they chose they agreed that they fit them perfectly. John looked at his granddaughter. "She would have been so proud of you Branch." John said, wiping a tear away from his eye. Spruce was glad to see his big brother so happy and he just could not help himself but to mess with his brother. "You're a grampa JD. You're getting old." He said, causing his siblings to laugh. John honestly did not care about the old joke at the moment. He would take a hundred of them if it meant that his sweet grandbabies were here. John wondered if this is how his dad felt when he first met Branch. All of the grandparents took turns holding the babies but sooner than anyone liked they all had to leave. Ozzy and Delta had been watching the kids since this whole thing started. They said that they would come up the next day to see the babies, but they figured it would be best not to overwhelm everyone with all fourteen kids making noise. Poppy and Branch were not worried about what was to come when raising their two little ones, because they knew that they would have more than enough help from their families if and when they ever needed it.
Did anyone else notice that the reason Branch's son is named GARY is because two of the letters can be rearranged to spell GRAY? Branch was grey for twenty years. It is also why I made Gary a more color form of grey. Our next chapter I am really excited about. It's all about to come full circle baby. I don't want to reveal too much, but I will say that Gary is just like his father. It's so cute. Anyway, so here we are with another chapter done. Now we just have our final left. Thank y'all so so so much not only for sticking with me for so long but for the support and love I have been given. Sadly as all things must do they have to come to an end. I will not be posting for the rest of the week and maybe even next I just have so many exams to study for; remember life comes first, but I had worked really hard this weekend to get this chapter finished. So y'all will just have to wait and see for this final chapter. But until then I have hoped y'all have enjoyed reading and until the next time. Bye-bye for now.
